Act 1: The Stranding
During a heated battle against the Toad Empire, the Righteous Indignation takes heavy damage, and the Proton Accelerator—the device that allows Willy DuWitt to travel between Earth and the Aniverse—is critically damaged.
With no way to send Willy home, Bucky and the crew estimate it will take one week to repair the device. Until then, Willy must remain in the Aniverse.
The crew decides to take turns hosting Willy on their homeworlds, letting him experience their cultures firsthand.
Act 2: A Journey Through the AniverseDay 1-2: Genus (Bucky O'Hare's Homeworld)
Bucky takes Willy to Genus, the now-liberated homeworld of the hares, which was previously occupied by the Toads.
Willy meets Bucky's people and learns about their struggle and resilience.
He experiences hare traditions, from fast-paced obstacle courses (to build agility) to communal storytelling about past battles.
Willy, unused to the rapid movements and instincts of hares, struggles to keep up but starts to feel more rabbit-like in his thinking.
Day 3: Aldebaran (Jenny's Homeworld)
Jenny takes Willy to Aldebaran, a mystical planet where only females wield powerful psychic abilities.
Willy sees Jenny's people using telekinesis and mind communication, but he is unable to participate in their rituals.
Despite this, Jenny's younger apprentices teach Willy how to tap into his intuition, making him more perceptive than before.
Willy starts feeling more cat-like, becoming more cautious and observant in his movements.
Day 4: The Corsair Canards (Dead-Eye Duck's Former Crew)
Dead-Eye reunites with his old Corsair Canards—a rowdy group of space pirates who live for adventure and treasure hunting.
Willy, hesitant at first, learns the ways of the pirates: swashbuckling, treasure-diving, and a wild feast.
Dead-Eye playfully tries to toughen Willy up, giving him a duck nickname ("Featherfoot").
Willy embraces the reckless energy, feeling more free-spirited—almost as if he's sprouting wings.
Day 5-6: Betelgeusia (Bruiser's Homeworld)
Willy stays on Betelgeusia, home of the Berserker Baboons, who value strength and loyalty.
He sees Bruiser with his massive, muscle-bound family, who engage in intense combat training.
Willy is given a mini-Berserker trial to prove his courage. Though he is nowhere near as strong, he earns respect through his cleverness instead.
After bonding with Bruiser's people, Willy starts feeling more primal, embracing a more instinct-driven side of himself.
Act 3: The Return to Humanity
As Willy prepares to leave, he realizes he has changed—he has absorbed something from each culture and feels almost more animal than human.
He briefly worries that he is losing his humanity, but the crew reassures him: he is not an animal or an alien—he is himself. His identity is not lost; it has been enriched.
The Proton Accelerator is finally repaired, and with a heartfelt farewell, Willy returns to Earth.
As he steps back into his human world, he notices that his perspective has shifted—his movements, thoughts, and instincts feel subtly different. But deep down, he knows he is still Willy DuWitt.
He looks up at the stars, realizing that no matter where he is, part of him will always belong in the Aniverse.
