A/N: this is my first time writing something like this so please leave a review of what you think and enjoy.
'Thought' "Speaking"
The Swarm of Heartless knocked Aqua away from Mickey while he made his way to the door that connects the realms. Aqua uses her magic to form chains and trap the Heartless swarm.
"Aqua!" Mickey called out.
"Go Without me!" Aqua ordered trying to hold the spell together.
"No, I…" Mickey started, just then Aqua's spell broke and the swarm lashed out knocking Mickey away destroying some of his gear while dragging Aqua deeper into the realm of darkness. "Aqua!" The door from which the two came shut and disappeared leaving Mickey alone.
The heartless swarm forced Aqua back to the dark side of Destiny Island. As Aqua caught her breath the heartless swarm got ready to attack once more.
'The battle for the realm of light…is not won.' Aqua thought to herself as the heartless swarm hovered in the sky. 'Thanks to Terra and Mickey, I know what's at stake.' The swarm came at her but Aqua easily dodged the attacks. 'I'm not afraid. I will face the long darkness.' Aqua summoned lightning and split the swarm apart, but the swarm quickly reformed. 'The next time someone wanders into the realm of darkness, I'll be here.' Aqua jumped on to the swarm as it flew around, she then started to attack the heartless in the swarm hoping to find the leader of them. 'A light to cut through all the shadows. I will be their Wayfinder.' the heartless swarm started to circle around Aqua jumped off to see if forming a type of twister. "And one day, I'll return to Terra and Ven." the twisting heartless swarm came at Aqua ready to end it. 'I am Master Aqua.' Aqua charged at the swarm head on. 'And that's a promise.' Both attacks collided and a blinding light emerged.
Realm of Darkness (Door of Kingdom hearts)
"Aqua…" Mickey said, looking at where the door used to be. Mickey swallowed his sadness and ran off to fight the heartless in his way. After taking out the giant heartless, Mickey took his place in the realm of darkness. "Now, Sora! Let's close this door for good!"
Realm of Darkness (Destiny Island)
"It's beautiful." Aqua said as she laid on the beach watching the morning sky shifted to a stary sky. "The stars are out. Terra...Ven… Just me again." small lights then started to fall from the sky. "They did it. The worlds are being restored." The Island then started to disappear and Aqua fell deeper into the realm of darkness. "May our hearts be our guiding key." Aqua reached out her hand. "You'll know…where I am."
Deep within Realm of Darkness
'Terra, Ven. It's going to take me a little longer to get back.' Aqua thought as she felt her body fall deeper and deeper into the dark sea. 'But I promise I'll be back someday.' Then she hit the ground, but it felt like wood instead of rock and the feeling of the sea was gone as well. Aqua soon opened her eyes to see that she was inside of an old cabinet that could have been abandoned for years.
"Um, excuse me but are you Raven by chance?" a voice asked.
Aqua immediately turned her head to see a seven-year-old girl with blond hair that went a little past her shoulders wearing a yellow shirt and light brown pants with black shoes at the front door pulling a wagon that had something in it but Aqua couldn't tell what it was.
"I'm sorry what?" Aqua said getting off the floor to gain her bearings.
"Are you my mother, Raven?" the blond girl asked again.
Aqua looked at the girl then got on a knee in front of her and said, "I'm sorry little one but my name is Aqua, not Raven."
"Oh." the girl said sadly looking down.
"Sorry about that, but what's your name?" Aqua asked feeling bad for the girl.
"Yang." The girl answered.
"Well Yang, I believe I'm lost at the moment, could you tell me where we are by chance, little one." Aqua questioned. Knowing she was just in the realm of darkness.
"In a forest of Patch." Yang answered.
'Patch is the world's name.' Aqua thought while looking around, she then heard the sound grumbling and looked over to see Yang somewhat holding her stomach then saw the little girl in the wagon. She had black hair with red tips and was wrapped in a red blanket. "Who is this little one?"
"That's my little sister Ruby." Yang quickly answered.
Aqua then got a good look at Yang and saw she seemed a little small for her age. Another thought then hit her and she looked back at Yang, and asked, "Why'd you think I was your mother? Do you not know what your mother looks like?" Yang shook her head confirming Aqua thoughts.
"Will you help me find her?" Yang asked, feeling she could trust Aqua.
"Of course I will." Aqua said. 'Maybe I can also get some answers as we look around.' Just then Aqua heard the sound of growling. They turned to the sound to see three sets of glowing red eyes staring at them from the forest. "Get behind me Yang." Yang immediately picked Ruby up and hid behind Aqua, as she summoned her Keyblade. Aqua had hoped she would summon her usual keyblade but saw she was still holding her Master's keyblade, the same keyblade that hid Ven away while he's heart was lost trying to find its way back. She looked back expecting heartless only to see black creatures with white armor on their heads, backs and chests. that looked somewhat like wolves, but they were standing on their hind legs. 'What are these things? They couldn't be heartless.' one of the creatures lunged at her, Aqua quickly blocked it as it tried to bite the keyblade in half only for Aqua to push back violently. The second creature used its claws to cut Aqua, peered the claws then countered with four swift strikes to its chest, then quickly slashed at its neck ending but the third one had run past Aqua while the one before went for another attack with its teeth. "Fire." Aqua fired a fireball straight at the creature's face then turned towards the one that ran past. "Freeze." The next moment the creature's foot was frozen. Aqua screamed in pain from the one she burned, having slashed her back when she was saving the girls. She quickly slashed the creator multiple times then hoped the one she froze hadn't moved yet but someone else was there with the creature split in two dying. The man looked to be in his twenties at least, he had short black hair and piercing red eyes wearing a gray button up shirt and black pants along with black boots. He had a red cape that went to his hips and a sideways cross necklace. But what caught Aqua's attention the most was the massive scythe he wielded. They look of a man on a mission soon shattered to piece when Yang took hold of he's pants leg and worry took over.
"Uncle Qrow!" Yang shouted, holding on to the man's pants leg with her free hand while Ruby softly cried.
"It's alright firecracker." Qrow said, patting the girl's head. "But what are you doing out here?"
"I thought I could find mom here, but those Grimm came and Aqua protected us." Yang explained.
"What, Who." Qrow asked till he looked over at Aqua.
"That would be me, I'm Aqua." Aqua said getting the man's attention.
"Who are you? I've never seen you here before." Qrow questioned keeping Yang and Ruby close. Aqua was about to answer when she felt the pain from her wounds. "You're Injured."
"Give me a moment." Aqua said, then held her keyblade above her head. "Heal." the next moment the wound on her back healed, not even leaving a scar.
"Wow, that's some semblance you got there." Qrow complemented.
"Semblance?" Aqua questioned not knowing what the man was talking about. Before Qrow and Aqua could have more of a conversation more creatures appeared from the shadows, these one's Aqua knew better. "Heartless."
"Heart-what." Qrow said, readying his scythe while Yang hid behind his leg and Ruby latched on to Yang.
Both Aqua & Qrow quickly sprung into the action, but for every few that they got rid of, more kept coming plus protecting Yang and Ruby was becoming a challenge. Soon they were surrounded with no way out. Aqua was running low on power as was Qrow. Aqua got ready to use the last of her magic and open a path for the rest to get to safety but before she could she noticed that the Heartless had separated her & Qrow from Yang and Ruby.
"Oh no Ruby, Yang!" Qrow shouted, spinning his weapon trying to get closer. "Get out of my way."
As the Heartless got closer Yang forced Ruby to hide behind her and thought, 'I'm her big sister and I got her into this mess, I need to protect her and get her out.' the Heart jumped at Yang ready to take her heart.
"Get away from us!" Ruby shouted, throwing her hand out in front of them, just then a right light shined blinding them. Once the light had died down the heartless had vanished and Ruby was holding a keyblade, the handle was a bright yellow with a red guard that looked like Kamas, the shaft was a dark gray with vines wrapping around it to the top with the teeth of the key looking similar to an axe, with a red rose attached to a chain connected to the base. Just as quickly did the weapon appeared it vanished without a trace. "Yang what just happ…ened." Ruby then fell unconscious.
"Ruby?!" Yang shouted catching her sister.
"Don't worry she'll be fine." Aqua explained un-summing her keyblade. "She just used a lot of power at once, she just needs some rest at the moment."
"What was that?" Qrow questioned.
"That was the power of a Keyblade." Aqua explained walking closer.
