"You were right," Elizabeth said, as she and Nathan exited the saloon after the radio broadcast. Nathan turned to look down at her. Elizabeth placed her hand in the crook of Nathan's arm and smiled at him. "About things sometimes taking more than one try."

"I'm glad it worked out," Nathan replied, smiling now too. "You really are brilliant." He bent down and softly kissed her cheek.

"No more brilliant than you." Elizabeth smiled back. The two shared a loving look as they continued their walk through town. Nathan reached over to cover Elizabeth's hand with his own, as he started to rub slow circles over her fingers. Sometimes, he still couldn't believe that he got the chance to love her. And that she loved him back.

"You were right about more than that, you know." Elizabeth's voice broke into his thoughts and Nathan glanced down at her again. Elizabeth's blue eyes were already watching him. "You were right when you said you knew I felt the same way that you did." At her words, Nathan felt transported back to the memory. That felt like a lifetime ago.

"You were right when you said that love is always worth fighting for," she continued. "You were right when you said you'd always be here for me and you were right to question me about what I wanted before Lucas left for Capital City. You were even right that I was cold that night in front of the infirmary," she concluded with a chuckle. Nathan laughed with her as he gazed into her eyes, each of her words bringing back a different memory. The repeated phrase continually reminded him of the most recent time she'd said it, right before she said she was in love with him.

Now, Elizabeth stopped walking and gently pulled Nathan to face her. "You were right about so many things, Nathan," she said, taking his large hands in her smaller ones. "But it was more than that." Nathan watched as tears started to well up in Elizabeth's eyes. "You've always known what's in my heart. You were just the only one who had the courage to say it outloud." At Elizabeth's words, Nathan felt his pulse quicken as his eyes took in her beautiful face.

"But…" Elizabeth moved her hands to tenderly cup both of Nathan's cheeks. "I have the courage now too." She paused deliberately to smile up at him. "I love you, Nathan Grant," she said. "I will never tire of telling you." A tear trailed down her cheek and her blue gaze glistened.

"I need you as much as I need my own breath. As much as I need my own heartbeat. And I want to show you how much I love you every single day for the rest of my life." Tears were pouring down Elizabeth's cheeks and Nathan could feel moisture gathering in his own eyes.

"Oh, Elizabeth," he whispered, fighting tears of his own. "I was so scared to love you," he admitted. "Because I knew." Nathan swallowed hard as he looked into the eyes of the only woman who would ever hold his heart. "I knew that if I fell for you, there was no going back. There is no going back."

"You love so deeply, Nathan," Elizabeth told him, her thumb rubbing slow circles over his cheek. "I've always been in awe of that. There was no going back for me either," she said. "It just took me longer to figure it out. But now, I'm yours." Stepping closer she added, "All yours." And Nathan knew that was a promise.

Needing to hold her, Nathan reached out and gathered Elizabeth into his arms, pulling her close. Elizabeth responded immediately by pressing her face into his chest and circling her arms around him. Nathan let out a slow breath as he buried his face in Elizabeth's hair, breathing in her lavender scent. They fit perfectly together. They always had. They'd always been meant to find each other.

"You were right too," he whispered after several moments, closing his eyes as he fingered her hair.

"About what?" Elizabeth questioned, still tight against his chest.

"That day we found a Christmas tree together." Nathan gently rested his chin on top of Elizabeth's head. "And you told Allie, 'When it's right, you can just feel it.'' Elizabeth slowly pulled back and gazed up at him. Nathan smiled. "This is right," he whispered, dipping his head closer.

"Yes, it is," Elizabeth responded with a smile. And when their lips met in a soft kiss, they both knew this was exactly where they were supposed to be.
