Naruto jogged in place in front of the Academy, starring at his DEX Exp Percentage
Bar. Just another minute and he'd get a new attribute point! "Feel the burn!" He looked over at the one shouting and waved at Lee and his sensei as they sped past. Just a little more… little m—
"Naruto! Get in here or you'll be late!"
Rolling his eyes, Naruto jogged into the Academy, waving at an exasperated Iruka as he did so. Ever since unlocking the Attribute EXP Gauge, he had discovered that jogging everywhere was a pretty good way to level his DEX, and with his weights, they even increased his STR and CON, though the former was much lower. Of course, everyone called him an idiot. Which wasn't wrong. He felt like one jogging everywhere with 3x gravity seals on, but it was too good to pass up.
"Morning, teme!"
"Morning… dobe."
That was a new improvement. The boy was awkward now after bumping their relationship from Friendly Rival to Trusted Rival just a few weeks ago. Sasuke was still struggling to not be an Emo butt hole like usual. Still, he had his moments.
"Morning, Naruto."
"Shika! Choji!" Naruto waved at the two. What were originally neutral people had slowly become friends over the last year. The same was with a few other of his classmates. Though a couple had barely changed.
"Shut up, Naruto!" Ino's voice sounded over the class. "It's too early to be that loud!"
"Troublesome." Naruto had to agree with that statement as he sat down in his seat. Waving to a blushing Hinata, he turned to the front when Iruka finally walked in, a large smile on his face.
"Good morning everyone. First of all, I want to congratulate everyone here. It has been a long and difficult six years. Though for some of you, it was easier. Still, I am proud of every single one of you. Do not forget that."
Naruto grinned at the man's words as excitement filled him.
"With that said. I can only say… Good Luck."
The door snapped shut, and Mizuki began walking about the class, handing out the test papers.
The final portion of the Graduation Exam had begun.
Naruto groaned at the questions placed before him. Even though his INT was a 37 now, he just couldn't remember half of them.
"You should have studied the books more."
"Oh stuff it, fox," Naruto grumbled to the tailed beast in his stomach.
"Those clones would have made a big difference with a study session last night instead of sending them out to work on your Intermediate Wind Nature Transformation."
Naruto rolled his eyes and set to work. He and the fox had slowly built a relationship over the past year. It was long, grueling work, but it was also nice to have a friend that he could tell his secret to. Especially one that understood chakra so well. Maybe friend was too harsh of a word, in all honesty… the Fox mostly watched through Naruto's eyes, taking in the world around them. There had been times it had acted up too, and Naruto struggled to contain the Biju, but…
"I needed to level it up. I only unlocked it last week, and it's still only at lvl 1."
"You're going to fail."
The fox laughed.
They may have had a better relationship. But the fox was still a bastard.
He wasn't wrong, though. By the time Mizuki collected the papers, he knew he only had a few answers that were definitely right. The rest were a little iffy. And more than a few that he simply guessed on.
"Six years and you didn't even know the Second's signature Genjutsu."
"If you knew, you should have told me!"
Naruto raged.
With a deep calming breath, he set aside his faux anger, and chose to focus on the front of the class. He had done well with the Taijutsu exam earlier in the week and scored second place; he shot a quick glare to Sasuke who had lasted longer against Mizuki. He was almost positive the assistant teacher had gone easier on his rival. Though he had beat the teme in the kunai competition yesterday.
"Should have studied more dobe."
Naruto made a face at the boy.

To this day, he still didn't understand how the boy ticked. Maybe just being better than Naruto raised his points?
"When I call your name, please come into the next room for the Ninjutsu test."
He glanced at the front of the room and watched as the rest of the class was called, like all tests. He would be called last. Each second that passed, he could feel the tension rising. Those who graduated left with cheers, except for Shikamaru, and those who failed either ran or cried their way out of the room. And eventually it was just him as Sasuke was called forth.
"Good luck on yours, Naruto."
With surprise, he watched the duck butt walked away.
"I think that was the first time he's called me by my name."
"All Uchihas are plotting something."
Naruto rolled his eyes, and watched as the last Uchiha walked from the room minutes later, a headband held tightly in one hand.
"Naruto Uzumaki!"
He practically ran from the empty room, skidding to a halt before his two teachers.
"You know the drill, Naruto."
"Hai, sensei!" The boy grinned as Iruka looked at him with pride.
"Swap with something in this room."
Kawarami (LVL MAX 100%)
A lone poster from a nearby wall fluttered in the air, but was quickly replaced by Naruto. No smoke was visible.
"Silent, smokeless, and no hand signs. I must say, Naruto, you've surprised me."
His smile was near blinding, judging by the way Mizuki flinched away.
"Henge."
The man was immediately staring at a perfect copy of himself.
"Finally—" Iruka didn't even get to finish before two more perfect copies of himself stood across from him. "No flaws…"
"So?" Naruto asked, hope practically dripping from his mouth.
"I think—" Mizuki tried to speak, but Iruka was already standing.
"A perfect score, Naruto. The best I've seen in a while…" Iruka was walking toward him now, hands moving to his own headband. "You pass, Naruto."
Tears fell from his eyes. Finally, after six years, he was graduating. Six years of being a failure…
His sensei pulled his own head band off, and offered it to him, "As promised, I, Iruka Umino, bestow upon you my own headband."
Naruto couldn't help it; he tackled the one man who always tried to help, tears streaming from his eyes.
"Look."
"That boy?"
"He passed."
"Who let that happen?"
"He's the one who rescued…"
"That was his second time, right?"
"I heard he skipped the early exam last year."
Naruto heard all the comments, but didn't let them affect him. His smile could blind the sun. He was finally a shinobi.

"Holy hell!" Naruto couldn't help but shout. If only he had actually gotten the other two missions. "Maybe I would have gotten an S rank skill, hehehehehe."
"Doubt it." The fox snarked.
Naruto ignored the mutt and instead chose to wave cheerfully at Shikamaru and Choji as they sent congratulations to him.
"Make sure you don't drag your team down." Sasuke muttered.
"Try not to leave yours hanging all the time," he grinned back, watching as the boy left the academy grounds. Meanwhile, Naruto tried to think of what to do next. Originally, he was going to go hang out with Iruka-sensei at Ichiraku's, but the man still had work to do, so for the time being, Naruto was on his own.
"You could finally go deal with the last boss in the Forest."
That would be nice to finally clean up. He had been holding off for a couple of weeks now, preferring to slowly get his chakra control up, and finally putting the last few levels into the basic clone jutsu.
It had been months since Naruto had maxed out Kawarami and his Henge, and while the last five or so levels took forever, Henge took so much more effort. It didn't help though, that he had spent an entire year maxing out his beginner Wind and Water Nature Transformations. Beginner. That was the key word. Thirty-five levels, and putting at least five clones onto the skill every night. Sometimes more if he didn't have a new jutsu to work on.
Speaking of jutsu, he opened his new scroll, but rolled his eyes.
Earth Style: Head Hunter Jutsu (Lvl 2 0%): Swim through—
He still had the prerequisite jutsu, Hiding like a Mold, but that was also at level 2, since both needed Beginner Earth Nature Transformation, which he hadn't been focusing on. Instead, he had focused on something much more important.
Lightning Style.
Fighting that woman, The Protector, had shown him how strong lightning could be. Paralyzing her made him realize just how great of a combo he could have. While the skill was only at lvl 10 so far, the few jutsu he had gained were so, so, so good. He even got an A-Rank!
"You can't even use it yet."
It needed High Chakra Control, that was true, plus Lvl 15 Intermediate Lightning Transformation. But once he got that—!
"You'll still be an idiot."
With a roll of his eyes, Naruto made a split second decision and began walking toward the Forest of Death. Today he'd finally finish dealing with that Kami forsaken place. It took him almost three months to finally secure the second area and nearly died to the boss a dozen times before finally completing it. "Damned Chimp." Apparently, when the First Hokage had first sealed away all the Biju, the man had kept the Four Tailed Biju in the Forest of Death for a time, and it had an apprentice Monkey. Who knew?
"That crazed monkey always loved human taijutsu. He collected techniques like that green monster you meet with."
Of course, after that, the enemies he fought practically exploded in difficulty. It wasn't until just last month that he finally attempted the boss of the area. The Golden Pawed Tiger. The first attack sent him running. Every once in a while, he would throw in a bunch of Shadow Clones to figure out its attacks and patterns. Now, he felt like he was ready to finally take on the creature.
"Don't you need another piece of that beetle?"
"I'll pick it up on the way back." He needed a horn for a gathering quest for Higurashi's. If he did it, he'd get up to 50% off any purchase. "I wish it was a flat 50% and not depending on the price."
That was something else he had figured out. Once he reached a certain level with stores, he began receiving quests. More than once he had gone out with Old Man Ichiraku and Ayame to find herbs in the surrounding fields of Konoha. His Jiji hadn't been too thrilled with the idea, but eventually he had gotten permission from the geezer.
It gave him better prices at the store, more items, better quality stuff, and… access to their store page through the system.
"Sleeping Tiger's." He spoke after stopping inside the dungeon.
Immediately a screen popped up, showing off the Higurashi Families wears. He moved to the Favorited section and immediately refilled his Kunai and Shuriken Seal Pouches. Two months ago he had saved up enough to purchase the 30k items, each. The two pouches were able to store up to 125 of each item. Something he was grateful for, especially when partnered with his favorite jutsu.
"Ichiraku's." He bought a bowl of ramen and quickly scarfed it down for the bonuses the Spicy Chicken and Vegetable Ramen granted. +10% Fire Damage, +10% Movement Speed.
Since he didn't cook it himself, he didn't get the extra bonuses, but it was still helpful in the end. Especially the speed boost. While it didn't help with his DEX, he could still move slightly faster, something he needed to get to the Tiger faster.
He opened his equipment section next and dispelled his Glamor.
[Glamor disabled, Chakra Drain no longer active.]
Instantly, his Orange Monstrosity Flaw was removed, and his new clothes puffed into place. They were simple, black, and blue pieces with some orange accents, but their major draw was the set bonus and individual ones he got.
Beginner's Ninja Ensamble 4/4: +3 to Each Stat. -10% CP for D+ and lower Jutsu. +5% Learning Speed for D+ and lower Jutsu.
It had cost a whopping 45,000 Ryo.
"You should have saved up for that Journeyman's set."
"As if I'd get 300k anytime soon." Even now he only had 92k, and that was after saving up for seven months.
Finally, Naruto opened his stat menu.

"Let's go, Kurama!"
He flooded his system with chakra, flipping through hand seals, completing two separate techniques.
"Wind Style: Basic Wind Reduction!"
"Wind Style: Wind Break!"
He had mastered the Basic skill at Lvl 15, granting him a +25% DEX boost, and unlocking the Wind Break skill, which gave him a +22% DEX boost at its current Level of 2. Sadly the two didn't fully stack, and instead rounded his boost to a +30% Which wasn't bad at all.

He grinned.
Then he was gone.
Every once in a while, he liked to speed through the outskirts of the village, running as fast as he possibly could. It was an amazing feeling.
Naruto wasn't sure why, but it felt so fulfilling…
"I hear the Fourth Hokage was the fastest Human. Of course, he probably wasn't as fast as—anyway. Perhaps he felt the same as you. Maybe you could strive to be like him. Though be sure to act less arrogant." Every once in a while, the Fox sounded sad, especially when speaking about the Fourth. Perhaps they respected each other? Even with the insults.
It took less than five minutes, a new record, to reach the final area, and with a quick shake of his body, Naruto stepped into the area.
"Are you sure you're ready this time?"
"I'm always ready!" Naruto shouted, using it to announce his arrival. Immediately, the ground began to shake, and the wind picked up, harshly blowing through the clearing. He stalked forward, readily showing off his challenge.
A chilling roar ripped through the air, and slowly, from the cave across from him, two small glowing eyes opened and blinked.
Naruto leaped into the air.
The ground surged upward. The entire clearing turned into a wriggling mass of liquid spikes before slowly falling back into the ground as Naruto landed amongst the mud.

Grinning, Naruto sprinted forward, spawning eight clones and flipping his title as he did so.
First Dance of Lightning's Spark (Dancing Spark): In the dead of winter, static clings to your clothes as you shuffle in your cold home, giving breath to the electrical shock of life. This first spark is like the start of your journey to mastering the pulse of life.
His clones split into fours, switching their own titles to Spring's Torrent and Dancing Spark. Thank you Lvl 25 Shadow Clone.
Finally, their foe leaped from its home as the ground surged around it. A golden tiger made of stone and ores shook the ground as it stalked its prey.
"Let's get it!" His clones roared in challenge.
Golden Pawed Tiger

Three balls of water slammed into the creature, soaking it, but the attacks were shaking off easily as it charged forward, heading straight for the other four clones.
The Fourth clone sent three shurikens at it, splashing its back with the water technique.
"Lightning Style: Shocking Sphere!"
"Lightning Style: Pulsing Wave!"
Two spheres of blue lightning weaved through the air, blocking the creature's vision as six pulsing circles of the element followed closely behind.

That was something else he had discovered. Certain elements boosted others, giving an automatic critical hit. Wind combined with Fire was the only other combination he had access to so far. Still:

The Lightning clones were dispelled in an instant as the tiger landed amongst them, causing the earth to ripple and rupture beneath their feet.
Which was fine. Those lightning jutsu took quite a bit out of them. So four more quickly to their place.
Several water coated shurikens slammed into the side of the boss as it roared in warning.
"Jump!" One of the clones shouted, sending the group leaping into the air.
Once more, the ground below turned into liquid before earthen spikes shot out of the ground, just barely missing its targets. But that wasn't the end this time.
"Roll!" Naruto reminded the clones as they hit the dirt. Once, twice, then a finally third time, everyone moved as single spikes shot out from the ground below. One clone was just a hair too slow and popped as the earth speared him straight through the leg all the way through his skull. Naruto winced at the brutality.
A new clone took its place, and Naruto began running through his own hand signs, trying out one of his latest jutsu.
Winded!
Sometimes, after a certain attack was used, a creature would be temporarily stunned. It usually only lasted two seconds, but that was long enough.
"Water Style: Flooding Wave!" He activated a sealing scroll that let out a deluge of water that cascaded around him. His chakra seeped into the liquid and sent it high into the air, crashing down on the stuck boss. It was only considered a C+ Ranked Jutsu, but was apparently the parent version of an A Rank Jutsu. And the Damage was nothing to scoff at. His clones couldn't use it due to the 300 Chakra Point cost, though. Which barely dented his own.

The area was completely soaked in water now, though the creature shook off the attack.

Naruto grinned as the creature turned its head to him, issuing a challenging roar. It began to charge.
"Lightning Style: Pulsing Wave!" twelve waves of lightning slammed into the creature's side courtesy of his clones, and Naruto laughed as it was sent sprawling into the dirt. Each group of clones he had sent in as scouts had simply gotten better and better at each attempt. By the time the creature began an attack, Naruto already knew which way to duck and dodge, they had even almost gotten the creature to triple digits the last go around. So now, with an extra damage dealer in the mix…
"Wind Style: Spiraling Force!" the original shouted. The Jutsu was a mid C ranked that he had gotten months ago, and mastering it unlocked a B+ Rank that needed 10 levels of intermediate Wind Nature, but still. This did good to slam the creature back into the earth, and holding it there as he continuously pumped chakra into it. With a 15 point cost per second for 8 points of consistent blunt Wind Damage, it was a nice jutsu in his arsenal.
Four more spheres fell onto the top of the creature, followed by even more lightning pulses. As Naruto's chakra began to hit triple digits, the creature finally dropped below 1500 HP.

This was why the clones had only barely gotten to triple digits before.
Naruto jumped back as the ground began to shake, and the earth snapped up like liquid. Two of his clones were caught in the initial wave, and were sucked under the ground, dying violently. Naruto winced but quickly brought them back into being as the ground finally started to settle.
His clones whispered amongst themselves, settling into different positions around the clearing as Naruto ducked back, preparing a jutsu for the now hidden monster.
Slowly, a golden paw reached up through the liquid earth and pulled the rest of its body through. Gone was the Tiger made of rock and ore, instead a shiny black coating of iron sand wafted over the form of this liquid-like panther.
"Lightning Styl—" The earth snapped up to the right, skewering the clone that attempted to cast its jutsu first.
"Three Waves!" Naruto shouted the reminder to his clones. And sure enough, another snapped toward him, but he leaped high into the air. The water clones on the left scattered, dodging the third wave. And then the earth behind the panther wavered as the creature fell into the liquid.
Naruto landed on a handstand and pushed off to the side as spikes shot up from the ground. Thankfully, no other clone died.
The last time this had happened, the creature went for the largest group, so…
He spun as he landed, hand flashing through eleven signs. "Lightning Style: Tracking Rabbit!" A small blue rabbit shot from between his hands, heading for the middle of the group of four clones.
"Perfect timing!" The ground rippled, the clones scattered, and a black panther shot from the ground, only for the rabbit to slam into its side.

Paralyzed for 3 seconds!
The clones rushed forward, hands moving fast, and suddenly their hands were holding something now.
"Water Style: Crushing Hammer!" Four overly large weapons slammed into the beast's back, just as the remaining three clones approached, weaving their own signs into—
"Lightning Style: Pulsing Wave!" Lightning danced as the creature became paralyzed a second time. Naruto grinned as he checked the HP.
HP: 985/3500
A new record.
Raging Claw
The beast leaped forward, heading straight for the original in the blink of an eye. He jumped back as the rest of the clones tried to intercept. It slashed outward. Missing him by two inches, and yet—
Hit!
46 Slashing Damage!
Three black lines followed the attack, cutting deep into Naruto's chest. The pain only lasted half a second before his Gamer's Mind ability took over, but it was enough for Naruto to fall on the back foot. He threw his arms in front of himself, trying to block the next attack, but thankfully.
"Flying Kick!" Two of his clones slammed into the creature's side, knocking it into the water titled clones, large hammers raised high in the sky. The physical clones jumped back, as the other two clones raised forward, kunai in each hand as lightning sparked over the black metal.
Another skill he obtained from mastering the Lightning coating jutsu.
"Lightning Style: Electric Scissors!" As the water hammers fell, the two lightning clones cut at the creature's outside shell.
HP: 782/3500
They were so close.
Naruto ran through the hand signs for his wind jutsu once more, as the creature's iron sand skin shot out, skewering the two lightning titled clones.
"Wind Style:—" The gale force winds slammed into the Golden "Tiger" once more, pushing it down. His remaining six clones piles onto the beast with their own ranged jutsu, sticking to their lowest chakra cost ones.
"Speaking of chakra…" Kurama rumbled in his mind. Glancing down, the Biju was right.

But the beast was so close to being defeated.
HP: 372/3500
"I'm out of juice!" One clone shouted, with the rest calling out the same.
"Damn it!" Naruto dispelled two of the clones and his jutsu, then jumped back, now at the edge of the clearing. The rest of the clones jumped at it, trying to keep it back with taijutsu, but the two were gone in the blink of an eye. He glanced at his chakra—

Chakra Regeneration (Passive) (Lvl 11 98%)
He was getting faster at regeneration, but it wasn't the best at the moment. He needed more chakra. Summoning a pill from his inventory, he popped it, added in an extra 750. One of three that he kept at all times.
"What a waste." The fox snorted.
"They're only 10k." Only. For 1 pill. But now wasn't the time to sweat the small stuff.
His old clones popped, and eight fresh ones took their place. This time there was no switching to water, only sticking to Dancing Spark, as Naruto flipped his to Spring's Torrent, and allowed a clone to unseal his last water scroll.
"I hope you like the rain, kitty! Water Style: Flooding Wave!" The wave of water slammed down onto the Golden "Tiger" slamming it back into the dirt, as the rest of the clones pelted it.
"Maybe I should have tried this sooner." He whispered to himself. Though, if it weren't for the clones learning its attack patterns, it probably would have turned out differently.

An explosion rocked the area. Spikes of stone, dirt, mud, and iron sand quickly erupted in a circle. Naruto panicked and leaped high into the air, thankfully backing straight into a tree. He slammed his feet into the bark, pushing chakra into the tree walking skill, and stood there as the entire clearing became a spiked hell hole. All of his clones popped, and for a moment, Naruto feared that there would be a third phase. But instead…
"Meow." A small black kitten, pitch black except for its four yellow paws, stood soaking wet in the middle of the crater that Naruto had caused. Slowly, it shook off all the water, and then dashed back to its cave.
"Wait!" Naruto shouted, giving chase.
"Ugh. Cats." Naruto could feel Kurama roll his eyes.
Naruto hopped between the spikes, and quickly entered the cave, pulling a small light from his inventory and shining it around.
In the back corner, the kitten turned to him and hissed, before diving headfirst into a wall.
"Wait!" He shouted in worry, only for the kitten to dive straight through, just as it had with the ground outside. "How does that tiny thing still have chakra?"
"I've never met a kitten with that kind of firepower. Matatabi doesn't count."
Naruto ignored the name the fox gave and instead turned to look around the cave. "Whoa." There were treasure chests, weirdly enough. Real life treasure chests, filled with Ryo and what looked like kunai. In fact, with a quick observation:
Master Crafted Kunai: Made slowly and intricately by a famed blacksmith, these masterful creations slice through flesh and bone as easily as they do the wind.

Whistling, Naruto quickly scooped up the ten, promising that he'd save them for important moments. The only other master craft kunai he had seen from the Higurashi's had been almost 60k for a small set of 15.
Still, it was weird that the place was absolutely filled with ryo notes as well. There had to be almost 80k here.
Oh, right, there was a quest tied to this, wasn't there.
