Chapter 2: To be a Pokemon Trainer

-Ars Bastion POV-

"Are you really going to keep following me?"

"Sliii~~"

I give an exasperated sigh while looking back at Hisuian Sliggoo, who keeps following me with a happy expression on her face.

After the miraculous evolution which enabled her to slide the huge boulder off, Sliggoo hugged me with joyous cry. Honestly, it would have been such a cute gesture, if I was not covered with her sticky slime substance afterward.

Not to mention her size, which is damn humongous. Almost reaching my chest from the height of her shell alone while standing. Despite her size, Sliggoo is just a sweetheart. She's always trying to hug me whenever we are talking to each other, showing her affection towards me whenever she can.

I think it's due to her nature, which I am guessing is probably what makes her more docile towards humans.

Thinking about Pokemon makes me ponder the mysteries around them. Most pokemon are known to have rational and complex thoughts. Especially since every single one of them is capable of understanding human language.

But they also seemingly have the emotional range of a toddler.

Truly they're indeed fascinating creatures.

Same as the pokemon who's currently following me with a huge smile on her face.

"Gooo~" Sliggoo cooed when she saw that I glanced at her.

"Honestly Sliggoo, you're too trusting." I replied to her with a thin smile.

"Slii!" Sliggoo just smiled at me while using one of the antennas to point at me, which was probably her way of saying that she trusts only me.

"You won't regret it?" I ask her again, which she immediately shakes her head while pouting. Oh, I guess I kind of pushed the subject a bit too far.

"Alright, if you really want to follow me, would you like to be my pokemon?" I ask her directly. Unsurprisingly, she accepted my offer. Without any sort of hesitation.

"Slliii~!" Sliggoo smiled while brimming in happiness as she quickly approach me while giving me another hug. Which definitely gets me slimed again.

Ugh, disgusting.

But I really had to get used to it, especially since I probably will get a lot of hugs from Sliggoo considering how affectionate she is.

But I cannot help but also smile in excitement as I realized that I just basically got myself a starter pokemon.

'Not only that, I am basically getting a presumably extinct pseudo legendary! And I got her in her second stage of evolution!' I inwardly laugh in satisfaction.

This is my chance to become a pokemon trainer.

Being a pokemon trainer has been my greatest dream, ever since I've awakened in this world.

As a child back in my world, I always imagined myself having strong pokemon as part of my team and challenging iconic figures like Lance or Cynthia. Honestly I don't know how many times I've played pokemon games from generation one through generation eight.

I still have a slight post traumatic syndrome every time I remember fighting against Cynthia when I was a kid. It gave me a serious lesson in never challenging a league level pokemon master with an underleveled pokemon team.

Seriously, her Gastrodon and her Milotic were a pain to take down. Not to mention, her fucking Garchomp.

If Gastrodon and Milotic were a painful reminder, then Garchomp was basically a goddamn nightmare.

Though, it is a shame that I can't play generation nine anymore since I died helping my friend, who almost fell off a cliff. Just as I helped him get to the ledge, the part of the cliff that I was stepping on suddenly cracked and fell, instantly making me fall into that crevasse. Which led to my own death.

Still, I would never regret helping him at all. Especially considering that he had been my closest friend ever since college. My only regret was that I left my mother alone. I just hope that my older siblings can return home to console her.

While it hurts, I quickly accepted the fact that I had awakened in the world of Pokemon, and in the body of a deceased young man who had been bullied for most of his life.

'I hope you didn't resent me for taking your body, Ars Bastion. I have taken retribution from your bullies, giving them the same torment you had before.' I thought inwardly while looking at the sky.

Speaking about being a pokemon trainer, I find it weird how Ars's-my mother had vehemently rejected me when I asked her permission to be a pokemon trainer.

Honestly I don't know why, but I feel like there's something more behind why she doesn't want her only son to be a pokemon trainer. Everytime I talk about it, her demeanor suddenly changes from a gentle, kind-hearted mother into a cold, dismissive woman.

It's honestly disturbing to see someone changing their demeanor that fast, as if there's something that haunts her past. This is all I can think of that could possibly contribute to her odd behavior.

I might have to face it again when I am home later since I plan to get Sliggoo into my team, as my starter. Seeing as she has already accepted it and all. I am hoping that Sliggoo will change my mom's mind and she will finally give me permission to be a pokemon trainer.

For now, I have to get my trainer license and get Sliggoo a pokeball.

Both of us walk toward the village, after I finally manage to stop Sliggoo from hugging me. I think I remember reading a Hisuian Goodra pokedex entry from Pokemon Arceus about how they're very affectionate toward their trainer.

Seeing how Sliggoo walks beside me, cooing happily every time I look at her, it seems to be pretty accurate.

It didn't take long for both of us to finally arrive in Freezington Village, as I spotted the houses from afar.

I didn't plan to go home first, since I have to take on more important things like obtaining a trainer license and also getting a pokeball for Sliggoo.

Hopefully I have enough money because, if I recall, I think the prices have changed since the last time I visited.

I took the stone path towards the only pokemart in Freezington Village, and I found a familiar person standing in front of the store while lifting boxes.

"Hey, Chris!" I shout, calling to the person, quickly helping him lift some of the other heavier boxes inside.

The person turned his head and saw me. "Oh, if it isn't my boy Ars! How have you been, my boy?"

"Very good Chris, in fact I am totally in a super good mood today! I just got myself a pokemon!"

"Yeah, I can see that clearly my boy!" said Chris while eyeing Sliggoo beside me, laughing heartily. "I can see that you found an interesting pokemon specimen! I have never seen a Sliggoo like that before, and It's so big to boot!"

"And she's a very good girl too." I said, which earned me another squeal from Sliggoo as she placed her head on my thigh.

"And very affectionate as well!" Laughed Chris as he put down the boxes inside the store. "I must say that you are very lucky to find such a strong and rare pokemon that likes you as much as it does!"

I laughed at his quip, and we laughed at each other while lifting other boxes and moving them inside the store. It doesn't take long for us to finish moving every single box. Chris cracks his back with a satisfying sound after all the work was done.

"Thanks for helping me, Ars. It would have taken me much longer if it weren't for your help." Chris said while massaging his back. "So, from what I guess, since you are here now with a pokemon, I assume you want to take a provisional test while also buying a pokeball for her."

"Yeah, that's pretty much the case." I nodded at Chris. "Since I am finally getting myself a pokemon, I will have to take the provisional test."

"Thought so!" said Chris while laughing. "Alright, just wait here as I will take the necessary documents for you."

With that, Chris walks to the back of the store. He doesn't take long to return with a paper and give it to me, smiling. "I will just fill the necessary legal document while you just take the official provisional test here. Meh, I am sure that you can pass this test easily given how knowledgeable you are with pokemon!"

"I just have a bit more to learn, only a tiny bit more, that's all." I replied to him, shrugging.

Chris just snorts at my answer as he passes me the pen. Though, he then looked at me with a warm expression. "I am glad you finally have the opportunity to be a pokemon trainer like you've always dreamed, my boy. After all, it isn't easy for anyone to get a starter while living here.

I nod in agreement as I grab the pen.

In this world, getting a starter pokemon is notoriously hard, especially if you are aiming for a better pokemon such as regional starters or even an extremely rare case when you get a pseudo legendary.

At best, you probably probably get a very common starter pokemon that you can find easily in streets or wildlife. Like a Rattatta or a Wooloo.

I had learned this after talking with Chris, who runs this pokemart in this village. During this time, I visited him to deliver pokemon goods for my part time job as a delivery serviceman. We're pretty much down to a first name basis due to our frequent meetings, and eventually we had forged a close relationship.

We have had lots of conversations, and he has taught me many things.

According to Chris, there's three methods of obtaining a license. The first one is a pokedex, which basically requires you to take mentorship from a regional professor. The second one is a diploma, which you get through finishing a study in a Pokemon Academy. The third one is by taking a provisional test if you don't have enough money. There's also another type of pokemon license which has less prestige regarding owning a pokemon compared to the trainer license due to their status basically like a pet owner, and making them unable to bring the pokemon in any sort of battle related facilities. This Pokemon Licence is primarily used for medical purposes like an emotional support animal.

As for getting a starter, I learned from him that there are four main ways to get a starter pokemon officially.

The first is to get a mentorship from a pokemon professor like professor Oak if you lived in Kanto, or in my case, it will be professor Magnolia since I basically lived in the Galar region.

While this is probably the most effective way of obtaining a starter, the downside is that only those who have enough money can get this mentorship since it's very expensive. Also, at the end of class session, only the top three trainers who get personally mentored and approved by the regional professor will get the regional starters and the pokedexes.

Pokedex is the best tool for training your pokemon since you basically just scan your pokemon in order to get their basic information such as abilities, typings, and move sets.

The second is to get a random pokemon from a stockpile of pokemon after graduation from a pokemon academy. This is handed to you as you get your degree which basically works like a pokemon license that also attributes your qualification as a trainer much like getting a mentorship by a regional professor.

From what I heard from Chris, the school only taught them to get diplomas and their first pokemon, and the students from this pokemon academy are often very prudish and believe themselves to be better than all others. But at the same time, they're mostly jealous of the trainers who get mentorship, especially with their pokedexes.

Talk about having a superiority complex.

The third is to go to a Safari zone, catch some pokemon, and get a provisional test as a legal way of getting a license. The first catch is your first pokemon and there's no other way. This is the most popular method for getting a starter, similar to getting a general education in pokémon training. The Safari Operator teaches them extensively on the pokemon they catch after they leave the catching area.

These types of trainers are often looked down upon, especially from those trainers who graduated with a mentorship from a regional professor, and also from those who graduate from pokemon academy.

They are often mocked as being uncultured or uneducated trainers, which is often true since most trainers from this option are the ones who have the hardest time getting a badge from a Gym due to the differences of the level of education. But on the other hand, they also have the most wild and unique battle styles that just work somehow. They fight with spirit more than strategy and only the ones with great intuition make it far.

In my opinion, you can't get far as a trainer with just a great spirit. While it is indeed important, you will also need a necessary education for honing your knowledge.

The fourth way is by getting a pokemon as your starter from your own family. Either the parents are wealthy enough since buying a pokemon is expensive. Or they successfully completed homeschooling and getting the starter, or basically just buying a pokedex or diploma from a black market. Among these people, there's a lot of those who just don't care and demand pokemon just for the sake of their social status.

These people are the ones that are likely supported by the wealth of their families so they can get any pokemon they want with a price. That's why during the time Ash was running to the pokemon center with his injured pikachu outside of its pokeball, officer Jenny stopped him and asked him to show her for his license.

Because If you don't have a license then you're basically considered as a pokemon poacher or having pokemon illegally, which you could be fined or having your pokemon taken from you. A pokedex counts as a license for those that are professor taught, otherwise you need the actual trainer license like Misty and Brock have. Now that I think about it, their cards also show they are certified Gym Leaders as well.

While Chris left me to fill out the PKL-44 for my license, I took a chair to sit on the nearest table while Sliggoo followed me while looking at the paper with curiosity.

After taking a seat, I begin to read the questions for my provisional test.

And snorted at how easy it is.

It didn't even take me five minutes to finish with this test.

Honesty, the questions that are given in this test are very basic things that any individual must know for being a pokemon trainer. Especially for the fifth question where it basically acts as a hidden ultimatum if anyone ever dares to break the law.

Taking the paper while placing it above the glass showcase, I curiously look around at the various goods in Chris' store. He has many basic things from a wide variety of pokeballs, to a bunch of camping items and even a pokemon poffins, which are wrapped neatly in plastic packaging.

I look at the price list on the booklet, only to sigh in disappointment after seeing how high the price of a single pokeball is.

"50 pokedollars for a single pokeball, 200 pokedollars for a great ball, then a freaking 800 pokedollars for an ultra ball… It's still just as expensive as I remember." I mused while taking my wallet, checking how much money I have.

"I only have 37 pokedollars, I probably need to ask Chris if he will accept a loan since I need to wait for my wages. If he doesn't accept it, then you need to stay outside for a while, Sliggoo."

"Slii~?" Sliggoo just looked at me questionably.

I smiled as I pet her head, earning me another happy noise from her, and a goopy hand. As Chris finally walks outside from his office, he looks happy to see the test on the countertop.

"Oh, as expected you've finished already, let me see your answers." Chris said lightly while scanning through my provisional test sheet. He laughs in a satisfied manner after a while. "Hah! As I thought, these questions are too easy for you! Even you can perfectly guess every single typing pokemon have, which usually took other applicants some trouble!"

I smiled at his praise but didn't laugh like usual.

"Chris, about the pokeball, can I take a loa-"

"No need to worry about that my boy! Here, take it!"

Before I even have any chance to ask about taking a loan to him, Chris cuts in as he suddenly throws a pokeball at me. The pokeball is almost entirely black with a gold band around the middle as well as a gold button, and carries rings of red on both halves, flanked by rings of gold.

I looked at the pokeball in shock.

"Chris, where did you get this Luxury ball!? And why did you suddenly give it to-!"

"Nah, just forget about that and consider it a token of our friendship, Ars! Take it and use it for your Sliggoo!" Chris laughs as he once again cuts in what I said.

All of this banter earned both of us an odd look from Sliggoo as she tilted her head confusedly.

"But Chris, this thing is more expensive than an ultra ball! And I am pretty sure this just came recently from inside those boxes!" I spoke heatedly, trying to return the Luxury Ball to Chris. But even so, he didn't budge at all.

"Just take it, Ars. A pokemon like yours needs to have its own special ball. Especially as big as this girl is." said Chris while patting my shoulder. "Also, just take this as my gift for you to finally be able to realize your dream. I know how much you want to be a pokemon trainer… And how much your mother is refusing your dream. Besides this is also a goodbye present. You will be going on a big journey from here on out."

I just looked at Chris with a solemn look. I felt like almost crying, but held myself as I hugged him, as he just patted my back while smiling.

"Thank you Chris… I will repay you someday for this…"

"Nah, no need. Just take yourself far away from Freezington and chase your dream to be a pokemon trainer." Chris said.

Both of us then took our step back, smiling at each other.

"Oh, before you go, here take this." Chris said as he gave me three more pokeballs, a pokeball, a great ball, and an ultra ball. "Don't ask why, and just catch any new pokemon for your team in those, just in case you want to catch a few near Freezington."

I smiled while wiping my teary eyes. "Thank you, Chris."

"Hah! Just take it and go find some pokemon, Kiddo!" said Chris while slapping my back. "Also, just capture your Sliggoo already, she just likes standing in there like a lost child!"

I nod while shifting my attention towards Sliggoo, walking towards her as I place the Luxury Ball in front of her. "Sliggoo, once again I ask,"

"Do you want to be my first pokemon?"

"Sliii~!" Sliggoo answers with a happy cry as she quickly presses the button with one of her antennas. The luxury ball responds by enveloping her huge body with a reddish light and taking her into the ball. It didn't shake even once as the catching confirmation ticked past my ears with an audible click.

Chris watched me with a melancholic smile on his face, I took the ball while smiling. "Welcome to the team, Sliggoo."

It wiggles twice, as if saying yes to me.

-Scene Break-

After thanking Chris, I took my path to going home. I will need to prepare myself for the confrontation when talking with my mother.

"I am home." Arriving at home, I was quickly greeted by the melodious voice of my mother, Rose Bastion who's cooking for dinner. I can smell the fragrant scent of soup in the pot, making my stomach grumble.

"Welcome home, Ars. You really take a long time compared to your usual, has anything happened?"

I nod while smiling at her. "Yeah, but I will talk with you later, mom. I need to take a bath first."

Rose nodded at my words. "Dinner will be ready soon, go ahead and freshen yourself."

I nodded as I took myself to the bathroom, while silently completing myself to mentally prepare for our discussion later after dinner.

After a quick, comfy hot bath and a fresh change of clothes, I've soon found myself at the kitchen table, eating the soup that Rose cooked for both of us. We both eat while chatting with each other, talking about various things, mainly about Rose's job which frankly, is boring for me since it feels like hearing what my mom from my previous life used to talk about.

Soon dinner is done, and both of us are now sitting in a living room, with I currently sit on the opposite of Rose.

"Mom, we need to talk." I started to talk. No need to prolong it any further.

"What is it, Ars?" Rose just casually answers while knitting what I assume as a scarf.

"I wish to be a pokemon trainer."

Rose didn't quickly reply to my sentence, merely continuing to knit with an uninteresting look. "I know. But the answer is still the same."

The way she speaks with such a dismissive tone is honestly quite aggravating. But I held myself as I took my trainer license while showing it to her.

This time, Rose reacts differently as she stops knitting while looking at my trainer card with disbelief.

"How did you get it?"

"By taking the test from Chris."

"Did you think that I would believe you for taking the test legally? When was the last time you did, you just faked your whole result while begging for me to allow you to be a trainer?"

Honestly, if I was Ars Bastion, Rose sharp, cold words would totally demolish my confidence. But sadly for her, I am not the old Ars Bastion. I am Andy Ferdinand and also Ars Bastion as well.

Without any words, I quickly took my Luxury Ball, showing to a shocked Rose as she dropped her knitting while gaze intensely at my newest pokeball with disbelief.

"Inside this luxury ball is my starter and she already agreed to follow me to be my pokemon. Before you ask, Chris has also been there when I caught her." I said in finality. Showing my undeterred confidence that normally Ars Bastion wouldn't even show.

If showing my trainer license has already cracked her cold, dismissive persona, then showing the luxury ball literally shattered her composure as she suddenly stood with a disbelieved expression.

"H-how…"

"I helped her from almost getting crushed by a large boulder."

"A-Ars! That's dangerous! How could you-"

"Mom, please do not deter me anymore." I quickly cut in with a firm tone before she regained the conversation with anger while trying to guilt-trip me.

I am sorry Rose, but I am not the same Ars Bastion that you used to know.

Rose slowly sat down, still eyeing me while I gazed back at her, undeterred as both of us were now stuck in an uncomfortable silence.

"Show her to me."

"... I'm sorry?"

"Show your pokemon," said Rose with a compelling tone. "I will never approve of your decision to be a pokemon trainer unless you're showing there is a real pokemon inside that luxury ball."

"... Very well." I complied as I released Sliggoo from the luxury ball.

Only to get my whole composure cracks as she appears and makes a large cracking sound on the floor due to her weight.

"Gooo~~!" Sliggoo cooed happily as she quickly approached me with her usual smile.

Honestly, I did not expect her weight actually to break the wooden floor like this. I might have to spend some time fixing it later.

"Sorry about the floor mom, I will fix it later," I quickly said, trying to regain the conversation. "Well, mom. As you can see, I really have a real pokemon inside my pokeball. And I am not lying like I was before-mom?"

I look at Rose with concern as I suddenly realize there's something wrong with her. Her pupil dilated widely, as she opened her mouth in a muted horror without saying anything.

Hell, even I can see that her body is shaking and her breath suddenly becomes labored.

And the reason is clear.

Because she just sits frozen on the sofa while looking at Sliggoo silently in distressed expression, as if Sliggoo is an alien for her. A foreign being that somehow makes her to be like this.

"Mom, are you okay?" It makes me worried about her as I quickly approach Rose while shaking her shoulders rather roughly. That did a decent job as Rose quickly snapped from her troubled looks, looking at me with dilated pupils and strained breath.

Both of us are looking at each other with an uncomfortable silence, more than before.

Slowly, Rose stands, while not even looking at me. Her suddenly changed behavior is concerning.

"This discussion is over."

"Mom?"

I am looking at her with confusion. She suddenly didn't want to talk about this anymore? I thought we would have a long, heated discussion all night. But instead, she decided that she didn't want to talk anymore.

"Sorry, Ars. Can you please leave me alone? I will continue our discussion at another time." said Rose without even looking at me.

With that, she left the living room and went straight to her own bedroom.

Leaving me confused with her odd behavior, while Sliggoo just expressed the same thing. What happens to her that looking at Sliggoo could cause her to react oddly like this?

-Scene Break-

After that, both of us didn't talk even after tomorrow. When I woke up, I only found preserved food with a small note from Rose. Saying that she has an appointment and will be back around noon.

Truly unusual behavior.

But I can't comment about it, since I also have things to do, especially with my Sliggoo as I do want to check a bit about her movepool later this afternoon.

So I did what I usually do, taking my job as a delivery man, and going outside Freezington village to find a bunch of logs I could use as firewood.

And also getting another surprise in the process.

Honestly, I expect to meet Rose while probably having a real conversation about my choice to be a pokemon trainer.

What I didn't expect is that when I arrived at home, I found myself staring at an old woman with green eyes and brown hair sitting in the living room with Rose who's giving me an odd look. She was wearing a yellow dress with long sleeves under a white lab coat, beige ballet flats, a purple necklace and glasses. She also wears a purple headband and carries a unique cane which is shaped like a Corviknight.

Beside the old woman, sat a slender young woman with ginger hair in a side ponytail, and turquoise eyes. She wears a tan-colored trench coat, a teal blouse, and light blue skinny jeans. She also wears a watch on her right hand, along with a black purse with a white heart, and four white heart-shaped hair decorations. On her feet, she wears black and turquoise high-heeled boots.

I stood frozen in my place, as I quickly realized who these two person that sat along with Rose.

"Well, why are you just standing there like a foolish idiot, young man? Show your pokemon right now."

Her blunt statement quickly snapped me. Though it also garners a bit of exasperated looks from the orange haired girl who sits beside her, and a long sigh from Rose.

I would probably answer with a single sentence, if not due to a feminine voice that suddenly pierce my subconsciousness. Making me startled in shock.

"Apologize, young man. Professor Magnolia is just giddy to see a unique pokemon that you currently possess."

I quickly turned my head, stumbling upon a very familiar figure. It's a humanoid pokémon with a flowing white gown that completely covers its legs. She also has long, slender, white legs underneath their gown. Most of its face is obscured by its green hair, with only some white, and its large pink eyes visible. She also has long, slender arms that are green like its hair. She is currently sitting at the kitchen table, while giving me a wave with her right hand.

This time, I blurted out my thoughts out loud, unable to comprehend and maintain my composure anymore.

"How in Arceus' pointy butt, there's a Gardevoir, alongside a regional professor from Galar, specialized in the Dynamax phenomenon, also a very cute orange-haired girl, chilling inside my house?"

And this garners quite a lot of reaction as Rose quickly reprimands what I just said. While the Orange-haired girl, Sonia, did blush a little though she quickly brushed it and laughed at my praise of her.

Both Gardevoir and professor Magnolia looked at me with an impressed look on their expressions. But Magnolia quickly cuts in while throwing a familiar red object toward my face.

"Here, catch."

"Whoa-wait!" I catch the red object on reflex.

My eyes further widen in shock as I quickly recognize the thing Magnolia just threw at me. It's a pokedex. A Rotom Phone to be exact.

"Bring out your Sliggoo and use that to scan your pokemon." Magnolia did not waste any time to demand me to release Sliggoo. Normally I would ask why she's here and why she demands such things. But at the moment, my curiosity over Sliggoo outweighs my rational thoughts.

"Gardevoir, I must ask you to catch her when I release her since she will create another crack in my home floor." I quickly send Gardevoir a statement, before I release Sliggoo from her luxury ball.

Rose looked at me with a knowing look while glancing at the ruined floor near the living room.

This time, there's no other crack because as soon as I release Sliggoo, Gardevoir acts quickly and uses some sort of pinkish energy which I assume is a Psychic move, in order to catch Sliggoo and carefully drop her on the floor.

Crisis averted, phew.

Upon seeing Sliggoo, both professor Magnolia and Sonia cannot contain their curiosity as both then looked at me with an intense looks. As if demands me to quickly scan her.

Wait a second, both of you. I also need to be preparing myself since this is a big moment.

"Sliggoo, I will scan you. So don't move from there, okay?"

"Slii?" Sliggoo didn't understand why, but she just accepted my command while smiling.

Opening the pokedex, I quickly scanned her.

[ Hisuian Sliggoo, Snail Pokemon A Steel/Dragon type Pokemon. Gender: Female. Relaxed Nature. Height: 1.5 m, Weight: 147 kg. Ability: Hydration, Overcoat, Gooey; Moveset: Shelter, Absorb, Acid Spray, Water Gun, Dragon Breath, Water Pulse, Protect, Rain Dance, Dragon Pulse, Curse, Acid Armor, Body Slam, Life Dew. Warning, the size indicates this pokemon is an Alpha pokemon. ]

The result is leaving everyone in the house speechless as the pokedex robotic voice is showing the scan's result.

"Oh my, dear Arceus…"

"What a monster of a specimen."

"... I didn't really expect this at all…"

"Oh my, this pokemon probably is already on the expert level."

Everyone at that place just literally said their thoughts out loud. While I am just smiling at a confused Sliggoo why people are giving her an odd look. I quickly hugged her while praising that she's the best pokemon, to which she responded with a happy coo.

"You are just the best, Sliggoo."

"Goo~~!"

After a while, everyone inside the house finally calmed down.

I found Rose has been giving me a concerned expression ever since the scan results were revealed, but I decided to ignore it as I want to try scanning another pokemon that technically I caught today.

"Professor, can I also scan my newest catch with this as well?"

Professor Magnolia, who had just recently recovered from her stunned state, nodded at my request.

"Just... do whatever you want, I need to nurse a headache."

Oh, professor. You definitely will get another headache soon. Taking my normal pokeball, I release my second capture, who quickly hid behind Sliggoo, only slightly peeking out with a hesitant expression.

Though from the corner of the kitchen, the Gardevoir did catch the silhouette of my newest pokemon, making her eyes widened in shock.

Laughing at my second capture's reaction, I did a scan on her as well.

[ Hisuian Zorua, Spiteful Fox Pokemon A Normal/Ghost type Pokemon. Gender: Female Timid Nature. Height: 0.6 m, Weight: 11 kg. Ability: Illusion. Moveset: Torment, Shadow Sneak, Snarl, Extrasensory. ]

There was a brief period of silence.

Before pandemonium occurred as every single person in the house essentially had the equivalent of a mental breakdown.

I laugh loudly at their reaction, while picking up my newest capture and spinning her around with glee before settling down to pet her in order to calm her down.

'Who could have guessed that a Hisuian Sliggoo would actually befriend a Hisuian Zorua.' I thought while thoroughly enjoying everyone's reaction.

Beta Reader: Hipnyah, Old Man of The Mountain

Author Note: Another chapter down after I have enough time to write. This is basically done in a single day. Lmao.

Anyway, here comes the big reveal about Sliggoo status and our new additional pokemon for Ars, A hisuian Zorua!

Well unlike the monstrosity of Sliggoo, Zorua is more like a normal pokemon

If you are ignoring the chance of a Hisuian Zorua to be born is basically almost nonexist lol.

Anyway, I guess that's it. Thank you for all of your reviews, leave a lot since it makes me a happy man. Adios!
