Me: Hey there to all of you YGO fans!
Well, so far, you all are enjoying my story… and sending me your info for your art work which is not necessary, but thanks for the offer, thanks guys.
Also, who has bought the YGO Early Collection on the switch?
I did and I can't wait to play it as I never had the chance to since I wasn't able to when I was a kid at the time. But I do!
The only one I have played was Sacred Cards, but I left it behind at Mexico when I was visiting when I was young, and I never got it back – until now!
So, enough of my ranting, and enjoy this chapter!
And please inform me if I mess up this duel or the card effect.
"The tournament will be held at the Battle Ship's duel ring – the Sky Duel Field!" Roland said, pointing to the top.
"Sky Duel Field?" Tristan said.
"Competitors, take the central elevator to the duel field. The others are free to watch," said Roland.
"Alright, let's go!" Joey said.
Yami and Bakura followed Roland into the elevator. While Bakura was standing in front of the elevator door, Yami was leaning against the side of the elevator.
'If the evil spirit is controlling Bakura, I need to be careful in this duel,' thought Yami.
The elevator stopped and Roland stepped out first and instructed the two duelists to go on the platform. As the two went to their position, Yugi and the gang made it to the top and went to the sidelines.
"So, this is the Sky Duel Field," said Joey.
Serenity hugged herself, "It's cold."
"They have to duel under strong winds?" Mai asked.
"The sudden gusts are sharp enough to cut and hurt the duelists. You must fight under these harsh conditions," explained Seto, surprising the gang that he and Mokuba joined with them.
On the platform, Bakura kept his head down and his bangs were covering his face, but Yami saw right through it.
"Why don't you reveal yourself," Yami narrowed his eyes, "You're not Bakura, are you?"
Slowly Bakura's appearance started to change, and he was laughing as the Millennium Ring appeared out of nowhere.
Yugi gasped, "The evil spirit of the Millennium Ring!"
Yami gritted his teeth, 'Know it…'
"Him again?" Tea said.
"What an idiot! He wore that thing again?" Joey said.
"But that's impossible!" Tristan said. "I threw that ring away back in Duelist Kingdom! How did Bakura get it back?"
Yugi turned to him, "Yami said that the ring must have found its way back to him."
Tristan gritted his teeth, "Damn…"
"Um, what's going on? What's a Millennium Ring?" Marik asked, pretending not to know what's happening.
Tea turned around, "That's right. You don't know, Namu."
"Or us," said Duke and Mai.
"You see, Bakura's dad bought him the Millennium Ring in Egypt as a souvenir. When he wears it, a dark spirit takes over," explained Joey.
"So, this dark spirit is controlling him again?" Marik said. "That's hard to believe."
Duke and Mai agreed.
"Trust me, it's hard for us to believe too," said Tea.
Joey frowned, "I have a bad feeling about this duel."
Serenity looked at her brother with worry.
Standing behind them, Marik smirked a bit, 'One correction, there's more than one person controlling Bakura. There are two…'
Bakura chuckled, "Yami, we haven't fought since the last time we met…"
Yami glared at him, "Why are you taking over Bakura's body again? Are you still after the Millennium Puzzle?"
"Who knows" replied Bakura, 'No, not until you open the Door to the Darkness. The puzzle is the final piece I need to get the evil power that dwells inside the tablet shrine… but I don't need it yet… however, how did you manage to gain a new body?'
"But I guess I do have one reason why I'm in this tournament and that will be your God card. If I want to rule, I must win this tournament and get the title of Duel King."
"I highly doubt that's his reason entering the tournament," said Yugi.
"But what? What's his real reason for entering?" Yami asked.
'I don't think he believes me, but that's fine. I made an agreement,' Bakura slightly looked over at Marik, 'If I give him Slifer, he gives me the Millennium Rod.'
Marik glanced at him, "If you want, I'm willing to take control of your body and defeat Yami."
"Stay out of this! You had your chance, and you lost! I'll defeat him without your freaking help!" Bakura snapped at him.
"Begin the first match of the finals! Duel!" Roland said.
Yami: 4000 vs Bakura: 4000
"Beat him Yami!" Tristan said.
"Change Bakura back to normal!" Tea said.
Seto narrowed his eyes, 'Why am I getting a bad aura from him?'
"I'll go first if you don't mind," said Bakura, drawing his cards. "I activate the spell card, Graceful Charity. This allows me to draw three cards, but I need to discard two to the graveyard."
He draw three cards and discard two.
"Then I play The Portrait's Secret (1200/1500) in attack mode. I end my turn."
Yami frowned, 'Strange. That monster only has 1200 attack points, so why did he play it in attack mode?'
"Why did he place that monster in attack mode? It doesn't have an effect," said Mai.
"I'm not sure, Mai," Yugi narrowed his eyes, 'He's up to something.'
"Do you think it's wise for your brother to destroy that monster, Yug?" Joey asked.
"Mm, there are different methods of summoning high-level monsters," said Yugi. "The question is, what kind of method he is using?"
"The only way to know is if Yami attacks," said Seto.
"My turn, draw," said Yami. "I summon Magician's Valkyria (1600/1800) in attack mode. Attack The Portrait's Secret!"
The female magician sent her green magic and destroyed the possessed portrait monster, causing Bakura to lose 400 life points.
Bakura: 4000 to 3600
"I set a card, and I end my turn," said Yami.
"My turn, draw," that's when Bakura started to laugh, making everyone confused. "You made a grave error, Yami!"
"Error? What does he mean?" Joey asked.
Seto frowned, 'Is he bluffing… or there is more to his plan?'
"My Occult deck has a scary monster," Bakura chuckled, "But I have to use a special summoning method to summon this particular monster."
Yugi and the gang widened their eyes.
Yami narrowed his eyes, "Special method?"
"That's right," said Bakura. "I must banish three fiend type monsters from my graveyard to summon this monster – Resurrect, the ruler of the afterlife! Dark Necrofear (2200/2800)!"
The spirit of the monster came out and swooped around the field, passing Joey who freaked out and Serenity before materializing on Bakura's field.
A monster appeared and it was holding a half, creepy baby.
'So, he discarded two fiend monsters with Graceful Charity and had me to destroy the third fiend monster… damn,' thought Yami.
Bakura smirked, "Yami, I'll show you how terrifying my Occult deck is!"
'Well, I could say for sure that it does look creepy,' thought Yami.
"I set two cards and end my turn," said Bakura,
Yami frowned, 'Strange. His Dark Necrofear could have destroyed my magician, so why didn't he attack? Or does it have a terrifying effect when destroyed?'
Bakura smirked, 'Attack me, Yami!'
"My turn, draw," said Yami. "I tribute Magician's Valkyria to summon Dark Magician Girl (2000/1700)."
Bakura chuckled, "That little magician isn't strong enough to destroy Dark Necrofear."
"Is that so?" Yami smirked, "You thought my set card was a trap, didn't you?"
Bakura gritted his teeth, 'Wait! It wasn't a trap?'
"I activate the spell card, Magic Formula!" Yami said. "This card raises Dark Magician Girl's attack points by 500. Which is more than Dark Necrofear's 2200 attack points."
Dark Magician Girl 2000/1700 to 2500/1700
"Alright! Destroy Bakura's creepy monster!" Joey said.
'But what's going to happen if he does destroy it?' Yugi thought.
"Go, Dark Magician Girl! Attack, Black Burning!" Yami said.
The young female magician sent her magic and destroyed Dark Necrofear.
Bakura: 3600 – 300 = 3300
The gang cheered minus Yugi, Tristan and Seto.
"Um, guys, Bakura doesn't look worried at all," Tristan pointed out.
Everyone turned their heads to Bakura who was smirking with a chuckle.
"I don't like it when he laughs like that," murmured Tristan.
"You and me both," murmured Joey.
"Thanks for destroying Dark Necrofear," said Bakura.
'He wanted Yami to destroy his monster!' Yugi thought while the others widened their eyes.
"When Dark Necrofear goes to the graveyard, I can activate the field spell, Dark Sanctuary," explained Bakura.
He placed the field spell on his duel disk.
Suddenly, the whole area was engulfed in a misty shadow, filled with eyes and fang-filled mouths while other eyes were inside of the mouths.
Joey hold onto his sister who was covering her face onto her brother's chest while Mokuba stepped closer to Seto.
Bakura chuckled, "You've turned on the switch of the most terrifying occult combo."
Yami narrowed his eyes, 'What's Bakura planning?'
Bakura smirked, 'Dark Sanctuary special summons a ghost that possesses one of his monsters. The ghost wanders his field, searching for a host.'
Yugi frowned, "I'm not liking this at all. It's too suspicious. What is he up to?'
"I'm not sure, but I bet it has something to do with Dark Sanctuary," said Yami. "I need to be careful on my next turn."
"My turn, draw," said Bakura. "I activate my continues trap, Destiny Board!"
A board appeared over Bakura's head.
"What's that weird-looking board?" Joey asked.
"Well, in western countries, it's used for seances," answered Duke.
Joey looked afraid, "S-Seances?!"
"It's like… a Ouija board, right?" Serenity asked.
Yugi and Mokuba agreed.
"Well, it's giving me the creeps," said Tea.
"Destiny Board is a tool to communicate with spirits. The spirits move the planchette and points at the letters," explained Bakura. "Watch it pick the first letter this turn."
The planchette moved until it stop to a letter and that letter appeared on Bakura's field.
"The letter 'D' appeared on the field," said Yami, softly.
Bakura laughed, "That's not the end of it! When it's your turn, the letters 'E-A-T-H' will appear one at a time."
"D-E-A-T-H – Death!" Yami said.
"Yes. When the five letters spell DEATH, you automatically lose, even if you still have life points," continued Bakura, laughing.
Yami gritted his teeth, "That means I only have four turns left. He let me destroy Dark Necrofear so that he could achieve this combo."
"This is not good," said Tea.
"Yea, Yami will lose in four turns if he doesn't think of something, and fast!" Joey said.
Yugi and Mokuba looked worried.
Marik smirked, 'So, this was your plan along… interesting.'
"Yami, the countdown to your destruction has begun! Your life ends in four turns. But my occult combo is only getting started," Bakura laughed, "The spell card, The Dark Door! You can only attack with one monster per turn."
Yami gritted his teeth.
"I summon Earthbound Spirit. But I only need it as a tribute. To have my Dark Sanctuary in play, I need to sacrifice a monster for each turn. I end my turn," said Bakura.
His monster was destroyed, and his field spell remained.
"My turn, draw," said Yami. He looked over at Bakura's field, "Why did he leave himself wide open for an attack?"
"Maybe it's a trap," replied Yugi.
Yami gritted his teeth, "Trap or not, I only have a few turns…"
"I activate The Sage's Stone. When Dark Magician Girl is on my field, I can special summon a Dark Magician from my hand or deck – Come forth, Dark Magician (2500/2100)!"
Mai blinked, "Isn't that your card, Yugi?"
The small Muto grinned, "It was originally my brother's. He handed it to me before he went overseas. I just handed it back to him when he came back."
"Ah," said Mai. "I see, so that way your brother was with you in spirit. How touching."
'You don't know how right you are, Mai,' thought the gang.
"Go, Dark Magician Girl! Black Burning!" Yami said.
Bakura just smirked as the young female magician went straight to him. However, a ghost emerged from her and attacks Yami instead.
"Wha? What just happened?" Yami asked, confused.
Bakura laughed, "Surprised? Dark Sanctuary created a ghost!"
Yami stepped back a bit, "Ghost?"
While Joey had a fear look on his face, Seto was smirking upon seeing Joey's face.
"The ghost is an equip card that equips on to your monsters," explained Bakura.
Yami widened his eyes, "It was on my Dark Magician Girl?"
Bakura smirked, "The ghost carries out the orders you gave your little magician. But you're the one who takes the damage!"
Yami and the others were surprised.
"Not only that, but you also lose life points to half the attack points of the possessed monster," explained Bakura. "Dark Magician Girl has 2500 attack points, so you lose 1250 life points."
Yami: 4000 to 2750
"And I absorb those 1250 life points to recover my health," said Bakura, laughing.
Bakura: 3300 to 4550
Yami narrowed his eyes, 'So, he gains life points that I lose.'
'Quite a combo. He hid a ghost in Yami's monster to launch sneak attacks and absorbs Yami's life points. And there is his Destiny Board…' thought Seto. 'What are you going to do cousin?'
Yami gritted his teeth, "I end my turn."
"And Destiny Board's effect activates," said Bakura.
The planchette moved again and landed on another letter.
"He has two letters, D and E," said Tea.
"Do you now understand? Each time you end your turn, Destiny Board adds a letter," said Bakura.
Yami narrowed his eyes before noticing something.
"Bakura, you need more slots to put in more Spirit Message cards. How are you going to complete the whole message?"
Bakura laughed, "Not exactly."
Yami glared at him while the others were confused.
"Dark Sanctuary does more than create ghost. It lets me place spell and trap cards in the monster card zone," explained Bakura.
Yami widened his eyes, "You can play up to ten spell or trap cards?"
Bakura laughed, "My occult combo is perfect. Yami, your life ends in three turns. You can't escape your destiny!"
The gang was getting worried.
"Damn! He has Yami cornered," said Duke.
"Yami has to do something," said Tristan.
"But if he attacks carelessly, he'll take damage," said Mai.
"But if Yami does nothing, he'll lose in three turns," said Duke.
Tristan gave Duke a death glare which he backed away a bit.
"Brother, is Yami going to lose?" Serenity asked.
"No. Believe in him," replied Joey. "He'll come up with something. Right, Yug?"
"That's right. I know he'll find a way out of this," assured Yugi.
"My turn, draw," said Bakura. "I summon Sangan (1000/600). I tribute Sangan for Dark Sanctuary."
The small orange creature was destroyed, allowing the field spell to stay on the field.
"Due to Sangan's effect, I can draw a card from my deck. I end my turn," said Bakura.
"My turn, draw," said Yami. "Due to The Dark Door's effect, I can only attack with one monster."
"And since Dark Magician Girl can't attack because she's possessed, Dark Magician can attack him directly since he has no monsters to defend himself again," Yugi said.
'Why am I getting a bad feeling about this?' Yami thought. "I activate Pot of Greed, allowing me to draw two cards from my deck."
He looked at the cards he drew, "I summon Mystical Elf (800/2000) in defense mode."
Bakura smirked, "What's wrong? You can't win if you only defend."
Yugi looked a bit worried, "What are you going to do, brother?"
Yami gritted his teeth, "It's a risk, but I can't defeat Bakura if I don't fight…'
"Go, Dark Magician! Black Magic!"
'You have great instincts, but I'm always one step ahead of you,' thought Bakura.
"I activate the trap card, Dark Spirit of the Silent. It possesses and silences a monster in attack mode. Your attack order switches to another monster. Dark Spirit, possess Dark Magician."
Yami widened his eyes, "Dark Magician is silenced, so my attack order switches to Dark Magician Girl."
"But Dark Sanctuary's ghost possesses her," said Bakura.
The ghost emerged from the young magician girl again and attacked Yami.
Yami: 2750 to 1500
Bakura: 4550 to 5800
"5-5800?!" Joey said, dramatically.
"This doesn't look good for Yami, guys," said Duke.
Tristan gives him a dirty look for being so negative.
"Oh no! Yami is going to lose?" Serenity asked.
Duke was about to say something when Tristan grabbed his shirt.
"Dude, you keep saying that Yami's going to lose. Stop making Serenity worried!"
"No, I…" stuttered Duke,
"Yami," murmured Yugi.
Serenity turned to Joey, "Brother…"
Joey looked at the field with a serious look, 'Yami, I know you can beat him…'
Mokuba's hands were trembling, "This is bad, big brother. Yami is in real trouble."
Seto stared at the field, 'Will Yami let the turns pass by and wait for death? Or will he find a way to beat it?'
He looked at Yami's face and noticed he hasn't given up yet.
'No. This isn't enough to break his dueling spirit,' thought Seto.
"My occult combo has no weaknesses," said Bakura.
'Think! There must be a weakness,' thought Yami. He looked at his hand and widened his eyes, 'Wait! There is one!'
"I set a card and end my turn," said Yami.
"Still fighting even if there's no hope. Destiny Board's effect activates," said Bakura.
The planchette moved again and stopped another letter, A.
"The third letter," murmured Serenity.
Yugi gritted his teeth, 'Hang in there, bro.'
"What will you do, Yami? There are only two letters left," said Bakura. "My turn, draw. I summon Soul of the Forgotten, then I tribute it for Dark Sanctuary."
His monster was tribute to keep the field spell on the field.
Bakura chuckled, "You're stand on the edge of death. During the final two turns, I'll watch you quake in fear. I end my turn."
Yami smirked a bit, "You sure like to talk. But you shouldn't be so confident."
"What?" Bakura said.
"Bakura, I'll break your occult combo," said Yami.
Mai widened her eyes, "He found a way to make a comeback!"
'Yami, let's see how you can break out of this situation,' thought Seto.
"My turn," said Yami.
"You? Break my occult combo?" Bakura said, not believing what he was saying. He laughed, "Enough with your nonsense. You're the one who's overconfident!"
Marik smirked, "It seems the Pharaoh found your occult combo's weak point."
"What weak point?" Bakura asked.
"Your occult combo is nasty, but it has its limits," said Marik, "Dark Sanctuary covered up its weak points, but Dark Sanctuary's activation requirements are the problem."
"What are you saying?" Bakura asked.
"You must have Dark Necrofear in the graveyard to activate Dark Sanctuary. If Dark Necrofear is returned to the field, Dark Sanctuary's effect will vanish," explained Marik.
Bakura gritted his teeth, clenching his hand into a fist as Marik left his mind again.
'I need that card to completely destroy his combo,' thought Yami.
"Draw!"
He looked at the card he drew and widened his eyes upon what he drew.
Suddenly, the heavens erupt in lighting which strikes down at the platform.
"I tribute Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, and Mystical Elf – Descend, Slifer the Sky Dragon!" Yami said.
Due to Magic Formula sent to the graveyard, Yami gain 1000 life points.
Yami: 1500 to 2500
Dark Sanctuary is blasted to nothingness as the huge sky dragon formed, its body coiling around the airship. It loomed over the arena, roaring at Bakura, who begins to sweat.
The gang minus Yugi and the Kaiba brothers stood in shock upon seeing an Egyptian God card.
"That's Yami's God card!" Joey said.
Seto smirked, 'You can always turn the tables in any situation.'
"Get ready, Bakura!" Yami said.
Marik chuckled, "By summoning Slifer, he may turn this duel around."
"Marik!" Bakura said.
"You may have more life points, but Slifer's attack points are determined by the number of cards in his hand. Right now, the Pharaoh has three cards, so therefore Slifer has 3000 attack points," explained Marik.
Bakura widened his eyes, "3000 attack points? That's not enough to wipe me out!"
"No, but on his next turn, he gains another card meaning Slifer's attack will be 4000. And don't forget his set card. Looks like you couldn't beat him either," said Marik.
"I'm not done yet! Dark Sanctuary's ghost still wanders the field. I'll just possess his God card!" Bakura said.
However, when the ghost tried to enter Slifer, it disappeared.
"That mare ghost can't possess a God," said Marik.
Bakura narrowed his eyes with gritting teeth.
"Now, let's deal with your so-called deadly combo – I activate the spell card, Soul Release!" Yami said, revealing his set card.
"I can pick up to five cards in your graveyard and remove them from play! That includes Dark Necrofear!"
Marik blinked his eyes, 'Oh, instead of returning it to the field, he removes it. That way it wouldn't return to the graveyard.'
With Dark Necrofear removed from the graveyard, Dark Sanctuary is destroyed.
"Well, looks like we were worried for nothing," Tristan grinned, "But I never doubt that Yami was going to lose."
Yugi, Mokuba and the gang made a face.
"Sure…" murmured Joey.
"Next, I activate the spell card, Card of Sanctity! This allows both players to draw until we have six cards on our hands," said Yami.
Slifer 3000/3000 to 6000/6000
"6-6000?!" Bakura said.
"Alright Yami! Attack with your God to turn Bakura back to normal!" Joey said.
Just as Yami was about to attack, his puzzle gives him a jolt.
The older Muto stopped and turned around to see 'Marik' aka Odion coming out of the elevator.
"What is he doing here?" Joey asked,
Mokuba gritted his teeth, "You better not interfere in someone's else's duel!"
Seto narrowed his eyes, 'Are you really Marik? Or just another pawn?'
Odion informed Yami that Bakura was under his control along with the evil spirit of the ring. He then stared at Bakura, and instantly their friend was back in control, but in serious pain.
Bakura fell to his knees and was confused as to where he was.
Before leaving, Odion told Yami if he attacks then his friend will take heavy damage from Slifer's attack.
At first, the evil spirit was going to follow Marik's plan, but he glanced at his host and was slightly worried for him. He didn't want to lose his host, and he has his way on winning, so he quickly took control again.
"Don't you hold back," said Bakura.
"Slifer, attack him directly!" Yami ordered.
As the sky dragon was preparing for his attack, Bakura was smirking.
'Pharaoh, I'll bury you in eternal darkness eventually,' he thought.
Slifer sent his attack straight to him.
'In the end, I'll be the one who has the power of darkness!'
-Break Line-
Well, what do you all think?
Until the next episode/chapter, bye-bye for now!
I'll be slightly distracted of playing the old games in the YGO Early Collection.
