Chapter 6 Back at the Heeler House
As Bandit Drove along Jacob sat there in his seat as he took the last lick of his lolly pop, while Bluey and Bingo laughed and played, he continued to stare out the window as they passed by many more Dogs going about their day in the city, Noticing this in the rear view Mirror Bandit spoke up.
" So um, Jacob how did you find the visit with the Doctor overall?"
" Hmm? oh Well, it was interesting " Jacob said as he continued to look at the dogfolk outside the car, he didn't know if he should tell them how being stared at by all the Dog people made him feel.
" I admit though I am a bit surprised at how well the Doctor seemed to handle um, seeing a Human for the first time" Jacob responded.
" Ah, well it's his Job to handle any patient no matter what " Bandit nodded
" and yeah, well, " Chili began to rub her neck now " perhaps that is also because when I rang up the hospital this morning I did sort of mention that you were not exactly a um, Dogfolk. "she admitted with a Sheepish grin to which Jacob looked at her for a moment but then understood." So the doctor did sort of expect something not of the ordinary visit "
" Oh I see, " I Jacob pondered for a moment "well I guess that explains it, still it was quite the experience " the boy said as he continued to look out the window some more.
They made one stop before they would return back the Heeler house, which was a pharmacy, chili went inside real quick and returned with a small bag to which Bag before they continued their journey back to the house.
It was noon by the time they made it back to the Heeler house, and everyone made there way back inside, Jacob couldn't deny, despite the fact he got to see more of this strange world he was in, a part of him was very relieved to be back in a place where he knew many other eyes couldn't gaze upon him any longer.
" Well, that was quite an adventure wasn't it, " Chili spoke with a smile " to which Bluey and Bingo excitingly agreed. Jacob couldn't help but chuckle a little at their overly enthusiastic attitudes.
" Oh, and Jacob, I got you a little something " Chili spoke as she held up the small brown bag she had gotten at the store, this got Bluey and bingo's attention now as well as they quickly grew excited and curios
" Ooh, what did you get him? A gift? A treat, a toy!? " Bluey said eagerly jumping up and down as Chili let out a chuckle
" settle down girls, it's nothing special just something to help Jacob get settle in here a bit more " she said as she handed Jacob the small bag to which he took,
" oh, um, thanks Misses Heeler " he said cocking his head as he held it,he opened the bag and took out a new toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste, Jacob looked down at for a moment when Bluey spoke up
" Aww, it's just a tooth brush? "she said with a clearly disappointed tone.
" Oh, wow, um thanks " Jacob said holding his gift.
" Well, figured if you are going to be staying here for the time being, you'll need one " she nodded " specially after you got that Lolly " she winked
" um, well I appreciate it, I really do "Jacob added with a nod." Thanks again " Chili nodded before walking off
" Well, I better start getting lunch ready, you'll be fine then? " she asked as Jacob nodded his head.
" Hey, I got an idea "Bandit then spoke up " How about you girls help get Jacob more familiar with the house, give him a Proper tour of the place how about that? " Bluey and Bingo both seemed to be pretty on board with that idea as Bluey quickly nodded.
" ooh, that'd be fun! "she exclaimed " what you say Jacob? "the little Heeler wagged her tail,
" Um, yeah sure, why not " he agreed. " this house seems like it'd be an interesting place to explore " he added remarking to himself the massive size it seemed to have.
" Great! Let's go! " Bluey excitingly said as she quickly ran off " Come Bingo, let's show him all the cool places! "
Bingo nodded and quicky fallowed behind her sister. " Come one Jacob! " Bluey called back as Jacob nodded placing toothbrush and paste down and fallowed the sisters.
" Don't get into any cheekiness now " Bandit called to them with a chuckle.
" This way this way " Bluey said as if she was ushering Jacob. " there are a lot of neat places to see in the Heeler house "
" Yeah, lots of neat places " Bingo added staying close to Bluey.
" The first place, is the downstairs Living room, I'm sure you're familiar with it sense it's one of the first rooms you seen " Bluey said " But there are many more rooms upstairs, fallow us " Bluey said quickly running up the stairs now as Jacob fallowed them to the top of the stairs and into the Kitchen
" This is the kitchen, another room you seen, so you know we use this room for eating food " Bluey nodded as Jacob nodded
" I think I got that " he said giving a thumbs up, suddenly Bluey dragged him out of the room and down the hall, where he ended up getting a tour of even more rooms, including Bluey and Bingo's room, their parent's room, the bathroom, the toilet room, the living room ect by the time they were done the girls had led him back down stairs and into the final room they wanted to show him.
" And this is the most important room in the house, the Playroom " Bluey said as Jacob looked around, remembering this was the first room he recalled walking through when the heelers brought him into the house.
" This is were we play a lot of our games, and were we keep most of our toys " Bluey spoke wagging her tail as Jacob looked around the room, it had a very colourful design with a lime green wallpaper, a polish wooden floor that had a large Kiwi rug in the centre of it.
" Wow, this is quite a playroom you got here " Jacob said unsure how to respond
" have you got a playroom at you're home? " Bluey asked as Jacob gave a sheepish look.
" I can't say I do " he responded.
" Well, that does remind me, I wanted to know if Humans like to play games? " Bluey spoke up returning to the question she tried to ask yesterday.
" well, yes I suppose so, depends on the person I guess " Jacob replied.
" We love to play games here! "Bluey exclaimed " don't we Bingo? "
That then sparked a question Jacob had earlier " hey, I saw you two playing something at the hospital with you're dad? Something about sleeping? "
" Hmm? Oh yeah! That was a game we call my turn to sleep! Someone pretends to sleep while the others remain a wake, then someone has to shout " my turn to sleep! "and quickly and pretend to fall asleep, only one person can be asleep " Bluey explained.
" oh? Um and you just play that, whenever? "Jacob asked.
" when ever it's fun, along with many other games" Bluey said with a smile " Ooh, how about we show you some of the toys in here! " Bluey said quickly running over to a toy basket and quickly began tossing out some toys as Bingo stared up at Jacob, who awkwardly glanced around but decided to wave calmly to her.
Bingo just returned it and nodded before quickly joining Bluey, they showed him some of the toys they had, a plush Dolphin Bingo called grey dancer, A plush puppy named Paulie puppy, among many more, that's when Bluey showed him one more toy she pulled off a toy table.
" This is Chattermax " she said holding up a strange Bird like toy, with a purple body and multi coloured head and feathers on top, and big googly like eyes..
" Oh, um, well isn't that something? " He said eyeing up the strange toy.
" He's very noisy but fun " Bluey nodded " want to hold him? "
" errr, sure I guess so " Jacob said as Bluey offered the toy up to him, as Bluey excitedly stepped back for them to be " acquainted "
" Uh, hello there? " Jacob said to the bugged eyed toy, when suddenly it's eyes blinked and before Jacob could even have time to react the bird let out a high pitched voice,
"Chattermax make wa-hoo wa-hoo!"
The toy then began to jitter and shake widely in his hands as loud techno like music began to blare from it, Jacob could barely keep it contained in his grasp as the bird jumped around shouting and dancing, Bluey and Bingo just wagged their tails laughing at the sight of Jacob trying to keep a hold
" Uuh, yeah, okay, this is nice...how to I turn him off!? " Jacob said in a frantic manner as Began to turn the toy over in search of a off button, suddenly Chattermax stopped his singing and dancing." Ooh? Didn't I do it? "
Bluey and Bingo however didn't say anything as they just smirked at each other when Chatter quickly blurted..
Chattermax Go-Poo-poo-poo-poo!"
And in a random and quick event, the toy bird began to shoot a bunch of small plasticy pellets out of its...rear end, prompting Jacob to nearly drop the thing.
" Chattersmacks! " Both bluey and Bingo exclaimed laughing.
Bluey stopped her giggling to explain " you have to put chattermax in a calm place to make him shut off for a bit."
Suddenly Bandit's voice rang out from out of the room " Hey you kids! Mum's got lunch ready "
" Hooray! " Both bluey and Bingo shout as they ran out of the room " Come on Jacob, let's go eat " bluey said as they ran out of the room, Jacob nodded awkwardly as he waited for the pups to leave the room.
" In a moment. " he said as he the glanced at chattermax " a quiet place huh? "Jacob look around as Chattermax jitter in his grip. He then spotted the Toy chest and grinned, quickly opening it and stuffing chattermax to the very bottom of the chest and burying the bird underneath more toys before shutting it. " that should be quiet enough for now."
" Jacob you coming? " Bluey's voice called back into the playroom
" uh yeah on my way! " Jacob quickly turned around before making his way out of the room to Join the others for Lunch.
After everyone had a nice Lunch of grilled sausages and salad, Jacob was resting on the sofa in the living room, staring out a window staring at a tree. He let out a sigh as he began to ponder the day's event, however what was sticking in his head at the moment was something Bandit and chili told him last night, when they attempted to search up humans.
" There is nothing on Humans at all, we can't find any form of record or a single bit of info on them."
Those words echoed in his head, the day's event made him think about it more, seeing nothing but Dogs, dogs walking about in the city, a world run by dogs? It just didn't make sense to him, he wasn't sure how he was going to process this all. But, he needed to know for himself, to see it. Truly he couldn't be, the only human right?.
suddenly Bluey and Bingo ran up too him as he was thinking. " Hey Jacob would you like to see more of the house? There are a lot more things we can show you!" Bluey exclaimed as Jacob looked back over at her.
" Uh, I think I just need to rest right now, or else I'd love too." Jacob said as Bluey cocked her head.
" aww, but there are a lot more things to see, fun things, more cool toys! " Bluey said eagerly
" Yeah lots more toys, and games " Bingo nodded.
" Or we can ask Mum if we can show you the Tablet " Bluey spoke up, this then got Jacob's attention.
" Tablet? " he said looking at the Little Blue Heeler pup.
" yeah, we have a Tablet, mum and dad let us use it somedays to watch cartoons or play PC games " Bluey said wagging her tail, Jacob looked at her for a moment then got an idea...

later
"The tablet? Why yes we do have one, why do you ask? Do you want to use it? " Bandit spoke as Jacob stood there.
" Well, would it be okay if I um used it for a moment, Jacob said rubbing his arm, to which Bandit and Chili shared a look with each other.
" well, um sure of course, but why may we ask? " chili answered next.
Jacob stared down for a moment then sigh " I just want to check some things out, something that's been on my mind about, my situation here, regarding what you told be last night ."
Bandit and chili gave a understanding nod now.
" Oh, um, well okay then, we'll just have to unlock the Internet on it for a moment then " Bandit said sheepishly.
soon enough Jacob was sitting alone on the couch with the Tablet in hand. He inspected it for a moment, it looked very much like a tablet he'd find back where he...came from. It just had a picture of a Bone on the back of it, the boy sighed as he turned on the device and found the internet App bandit had unlocked for him.
That's when he got to the search engine, he stared blankly at it for a moment, unsure how to go about it, was he really going to be ready to see it for himself, to discover the truth about this? He swallowed and took a deep breath. He had too.
slowly, one letter at a time he began to type in the first word in the search engine.
" H-u-m-a-n "
Once he had that typed out, he hit search and waited...
the search function circled for a bit and then...he saw it.
" No results found "
It was a simple text, a blank page with just that, but it made a cold shiver run down Jacob's Body, he couldn't begin to fathom the feelings it made him experience just from looking at that. He didn't want to believe it..but now he was seeing it. Quickly he typed in the fallowing
"What is a Human? "
Nothing popped up again, and again, and again, when ever Jacob typed in anything that had too do with Humans, no results would pop up, it was like, they didn't exist.
he sighed as he dropped his head for a moment as he tried to process it all. When he then figured to search something else.
He typed in his home city back in Canada, Toronto Ontario and waited for results, he suddenly got dozen results popping up. He checked one result and looked through the pages, and what he got left him in a perplexed state, he was half expecting it but, he wasn't ready for it.
What he saw was pictures of his city, the skyline, the landmarks, like the CN Tower, it all looked the same to the most degree, however it was around that he couldn't properly register. Dogs, many, many dogs, much like he saw earlier today when they went out, he was not seeing images that showed crowds of Dogfolk , all in the city he knew as his home, and yet no one Human being to be seen.
Jacob couldn't believe it, his own home city was overrun by dogs? What was going on!? Quickly Jacob began to search more familiar places, his school, other locations around the city, but it all resulted in the same, dogs and more dogs, every image was that of these dogfolk.
Deciding to try other searches he began to look into things he was raised to know, like the history of his country and other history lessons on other places, but all he was getting was things resulting in more of these dogfolk, it was so close to what he knew but yet so different, it was like history was just re-written but with dogs instead of humans.
Jacob quickly shut off the tablet now and set it aside, he couldn't bare to look up anymore now. He had to sit there and process everything he had seen, he knew for some time now that he wasn't in a familiar place, he knew that he wasn't in a world he was used too, but to see all this first hand to see everything he ever knew, to all change ? How could he perceive that?
He rubbed his forehead, He knew he couldn't bother to deny the fact, he was in a completely new world for sure that much he could confirm. How or why? Well, he couldn't explain it but he knew that what ever he encountered that terrible night it had to be what led him to be in this predicament.
he winced as he had more quick flashes in his mind of that night. The green light, the sensation's, it made his head hurt just trying to remember it all, He shook his head now as he sighed,
He was in a Dog's world he could confirm that. Now he just needed to know, what caused him exactly to end up here, and just what exactly can he do to get back?
