Chapter 8 TV and school

As Bluey and Bingo had been dropped off at their respective schools, and Bandit now off to work, Jacob had spent the rest of his morning still deciding help out Chili with some of the chores that needed to be done around the house, he felt he still owed it. Chili didn't complain about the help of course, and Jacob busied himself by picking up some toys scattered about and wiped the some of the shelves and tables, While Chili washed some blankets down and cleaned the windows from the inside.

Jacob chatted with Chili a bit too, learning more about what she and bandit did, like for a living, he learned Bandit's job was that in archeology, while Chili herself worked in Airport security. their jobs both being fairly flexible with schedules one usually being home while the other works, and thus they alternated,

He also learned that today was what they called a daddy drop off when Bandit got to drive the kids to school before going to work. and would then pick them up after school, hence their flexible schedules.

That's how the morning when until it was reaching closer too noon, and shortly after he and Chilie completed some of the chores, Chili remarked that they both should have a little break however Jacob wasn't too sure what to exactly do.

" Well, how about you go and watch a little TV, I think you "earned" it " she chuckled with a smile as Jacob nodded his head

" Oh, Tv yeah I could try that " he thought wondering what sort of things would be on TV in this place.

" you know how to work it?

" yeah, I think I'll figure it, can't be different then TV's where I'm from" he said as he made his way upstairs to the living room as Chili watched on for a moment.

" Well okay then, I'm will prep a little lunch later " Chili stated as Jacob made his way up the stairs.

" Okay, lets see then what they got here " Jacob said as he sat there with the TV remote in hand, he clicked the power button as the tv came on and instantly his ears were met with the tune to some cartoon that was blaring out.

" CAT SQUAD!"

Jacob winced as he quickly found the mute button. " well, off to a great start " he murmured to himself.

Meanwhile.

Bluey was playing outside in the school yard with her friends,

" I told you, there are no Dinosaurs in Dragon times " Said a read Kelpie pup to a Pink poodle girl who crossed her arms.

" How do you know, the dragon days were a long time ago, just like the Dinosaur days " the Pink poodle said, They both then look confusingly for a moment but then notice Bluey standing there seeming to be pondering something.

" Lets ask bluey then " The pink poodle said approaching the young Heeler. " Bluey! " she said as Bluey faced her. " Yes Coco? " Bluey said as the young poodle spoke to her.

" Rusty says Dinosaurs didn't exist when Dragons did, but I say they did, you agree with me right? "

" Oh, um well, dragons are just flying Dinosaurs right ? " Bluey said tilting her head a bit. as the poodle thought about it.

" I think so " Coco said nodding to which Bluey nodded in return.

" Then I defiantly think they existed with Dinosaurs " Bluey said to which Coco cheered and rusty sighed.

" Say Bluey, you haven't told us what you did this weekend, did you play a lot of games like you usually do? " The red Kelpie spoke.

" I went to see a Movie! " a sheep dog named McKenzie suddenly spoke up " It was really amazing "

" well, I got to ride the ferry in town with my mum " A sausage dog named Snickers chimed in.

"I went to a BBQ! " Chloe a Dalmatian pup said.

" What did you do Bluey? " her friends all asked her next again. Bluey wagged her tail, having grown more excited about getting to share her weekend, so much she then blurted out.

" I made a new friend!"

All her friends then gasped and looked puzzled, but then so intrigued by this and gathered around her. " A new friend? who is it who is it! " Coco chimed

Bluey thought for a moment then remember her dads words about sharing too much info about Jacob. " Uh, well, he's not from around here, he's from uh, Canada!" Bluey said with a nod as all her friends looked more intruded now.

Back at the heeler house.

" Try new silk coat Flea powder! rid you're fur of unwanted guests "

Jacob stared at the screen in disbelief, " This can't be happening to me." he said shaking his head as the ad for a flea powder continued to play, he new he should have expected it, but still nothing could prepare him for what sort of things awaited him on the TV, countless shows so similar to what he was used too, only about dog related manners, it was just too surreal for him.

Jacob was about to click the remote one more time when suddenly the commercial ended and something else came on that stopped him. a deep and dramatic voice suddenly boomed out of the tv.

" The land down under, it's big, it's crazy, and full of the most unusual things you can imagine, and one Dog is going to discover them all "

Suddenly on the screen flashed a title, " Strange Australia!, with Mr Fellmin! " after that the Camara panned down to reveal a Dogfolk, A Koolie to be specific, wearing a black leather vest and black fedora, also sporting some shades, Jacob watched curiously as the dog then spoke in a enthusiastic tone.

"Hello mates! it's you're crazy Koolie Mr Fellmin! and boy do I have a show for you lot today! " the koolie said before removing his shades.

" In this ep, we'll be looking at some strange things, from a women who claims to have a singing kangaroo, to a rock that is said to changes colours and much more! you'll see it all here!"

Jacob became more curious about this show," I gotta know what they find strange in this world. " He told to himself, taking his hand off the remote, he sat bac and got comfy.

Back at Bluey's school

Bluey stood there as all her friends were curious about this new friend Bluey was talking about.

" I hear Canada is a very cold place " Snickers said as he spun around trying to see his tail. Bluey nodded " So did I, I think he said it was " Bluey added.

" So does he go to school around here? why haven't we seen him yet? " Rusty said

"Is he a new kid? What's his name?" McKenzie Added.

" Does you're new friend like playing games like you? " Coco added.

" Umm well " Bluey thought trying to figure out how to word it " His name is Jacob, and he said he wants to try and play some games, but he's a older kid " Bluey added as all her friends gasped.

" Older kid wow!, how old!? " Coco said

" Um " Bluey tried to remember what Jacob said" uum, how ever old Rusty's brother is I think? " everyone gasped

" Wow, that's really old!" McKenzie said as Rusty nodded in agreement.

" I didn't think older kids would like playing games " Chloe spoke as Bluey then pondered it for a moment

" Well, he said he was wanted too, so I guess so, He seemed to like Our Chattermax " Bluey chuckled.

" Can we meet him? " Snicker said now wagging his tail now., Bluey was about to quickly respond with a yes but then remembered more about her Dad's words.

"Ooh, uuh, well, Umm " Bluey thought for a moment, not sure if she was supposed to let that happen, but she certainly wanted them to get to meet Jacob.

however that's when Rusty asked something else, " What breed are they? " this made Bluey pause for a moment, how could she explain that without saying he was a Human? could she say he was a human?

" Uuh, well,he's um " Bluey began to think trying to figure out how to word it as her friends curiously awaited her response.

" Oh, can we guess, he's a Cocker spaniel! " Cocos said speaking first.

" Nah he's probably a Husky! they like the cold right? because he's from, Canada? " Snickers said curiously

" Uuh well, he's not really either of those " Bluey said sounding a but more unsure of what to say now. " He's a um "

" What? " Coco said more curious now as all her friends all eagerly listened, however that's when then a voice rang out from the distance.

" Alright kids, time to come inside, story time and then lunch ! " their teacher said standing at the doorway of the school.

" Oh, it's Calypso, we better go " Rusty said as all pups quickly cheered and rushed toward the school leaving bluey there feeling a bit relived and she then sighed, she quickly fallowed her friends inside.

Later back at the heeler house.

" That's all for today folks, but don't forget to Tune in next time for another crazy ep of " Strange Australia! " the Koolie said before placing his shades back on and gave a sly grin to the Camara.

" Well that was a interesting show " Jacob said as the credits rolled up the screen, he clicked off the TV decided that was probably enough for now.

" Singing Kanga Roo turns out to just be a Kanaga roo who can grunt a tune, special " he said standing up and stretching " Though that Mr Fellmin seems like an Interesting character " he spoke further to himself as he decided to head into the Kitchen were he noticed a small plate of food.

Chili who was busy cleaning out a dish glance back noticing Jacob enter the room.

" Oh, hello Jacob, did you have a nice time watching TV, catch anything interesting? " she spoke in a cheer manner.

" You could say that, I learned how Kangaroos can sing " Jacob nodded his head as Chili chuckled.

" oh I see, well, lunch is on the table there, you can enjoy that, even sit on the Deck as you do, it's such a nice day, not too hot, I know the doc suggested you not get too much sunlight, but some fresh air fora bit will feel nice" Chili said setting the last clean dish in the cupboard. " oh that reminds me, how are you're bandages holding up? "

Jacob looked down to see a plate containing a sandwich and some fruit slices. before he rubbed one of the plasters around his arm " still good, feeling a lot better

" Well that's good to hear " Chili nodded " well, there are some drinks in the fridge if you are thirsty, " Chili said as Jacob look over at her for a moment then gave a light smile and nodded.

" Thanks Mrs Heeler " He said as Chili chuckled as his formality

" but of course, just be sure to pop that dish in the wash when you're done " she said as she headed out of the room, Jacob grabbed his plate and headed for the deck deciding to sit down outside as suggested for a short bit. the warm sun but nice breeze did feel good on him.

He took a seat on the outside table as he overlooked the view he had, seeing the backyard and seeing into other neighboring homes. he could the notice many dogfolk going about their days, he even saw across the yard into the next houses yard, where he saw what looked like a Golden retriever singing and hanging up some laundry.

" This place would make a good idea for a cartoon " Jacob said chuckling to himself as he enjoyed his meal.

During Storytime Bluey hadn't been paying too much attention the book Calypso was reading, her previous discussion about Jacob was still on her mind. she couldn't take her mind off it, so bad did she went to tell her friends about the full detail on who Jacob was , but knew her parents didn't want her to announce it to everyone, until the time was right, but also now she was wondering how she was going to let her friends meet Jacob as she said they could.

Her thoughts didn't change much ever after Storytime or after they had eaten or during activity time, Bluey just seemed to be more and more distracted. it was then when she finally decided she needed to talk to someone about what to do, and she could turn to the only person she knew could help her, and that was her teacher, Miss Calypso. Bluey knew she could talk to her about her situation. Miss Calypso had always seemed to know what to do or say when ever a kid needed help.

So, when everyone was in free play, doing their own activities, Bluey decided to walk over and see her teacher who was sitting at her table, going over some paperwork and happily humming a tune, now miss Calypso was a blue merle Australian Shepherd and had a very calm and inviting demeanor to her.

Bluey stood there for a moment not saying anything when her teacher seemed to feel her presence as she looked up from her work and glanced over at Bluey.

"Hmm? Oh bluey, is there something you need? " her teacher spoke in a soft and comforting tone. Bluey glanced her eyes away for a moment and swayed her body in a light motion.

" Well, uhhh " Bluey said trying to think of how to explain herself " I was just, going to ask you something. " she said as her teach looked at her for a moment then smiled

" Of course Bluey, you know you can ask me anything, what is it dear? "

Bluey perked up a little before she began to explain herself " Well you see, I made a new friend this weekend " she said as Calypso looked at her and smile.

" Oh is that right? well good on you Bluey " she replied with a warm smile and nod

" Yeah, but, well my friends all want to meet him, but " Bluey stopped for a moment wondering how she could explain it to her without saying too much about Jacob " I don't know what my friends will think. or when they should meet him " Bluey said as Calypso nodded for a moment

" I see, well why would you feel that way Bluey? you make friends with just about everyone, you're quite a remarkable pup in that way, I'm sure you're friends will love to meet you're new one " Calypso said in a reassuring manner.

Bluey's tail wagged a bit but then she realized she still needed to find out how to go about it. " well, you see, he's not from around here, and I don't think he's going to be staying around for too long before he has to go back to where he is from, but I want him to meet my friends before he has to go " she added as Calypso listened and nodded.

" Well, Bluey, I think you'll know when the time is just right, a time and place where you and all you're friends will meet, I'm sure you'll have a good time with all you're friends meeting you're newest one, and people from other places are always fascinating to get to know " Calypso said placing a hand on the young pups arm. " the time will come when you see it " she nodded

Bluey smiled and wagged her tail again " Thanks Calypso! I'll be sure to find the right time then! " the young pup said eagerly

" Hey Bluey! come check out the cool block fort were building! " Chloe's voice rang out from across the room.

Miss Calypso gave bluey a warm smile with a reassuring wink, Bluey returned a smile and nod before going off to join her friends, just feeling more happy now that she had someone to talk to about how she was feeling, even if she didn't tell anyone that Jacob was a Human or how she and her family found him, she felt like she got some reassuring support on it.

As Bluey joined her friends in their fun games, building the massive block fort, she couldn't wait until she got home as her thoughts now turned to the fact that she was going to get too finally try playing some games with Jacob, she, Bingo and him, her tail wagged some more as she couldn't wait for the school day to near it's end...

Author note, Wow, well here it is, the next chapter, first I should say, sorry for the long delay, just handling life, but am aiming to get right back into updating this story again more frequently, hope everyone is enjoying this story though, thanks for those of you who show it support, and leave comments, means a lot !
