Chapter 14-Meeting more Heelers.
Jacob sat there in the living, simply stare off into the distance, rubbing his now bandaged free arm, being able to take them off now after his cuts and scrapes have healed, however his mind was deep it thought, It had been three days sense he finally told the Heelers about where he truely came from, a world where humans ruled, now whether he came from a different plant or crossed dimensions, he cannot be too sure, but for one thing, Jacob at least knew that it could be the right thing he needs in order to start finding his way back home. to his world, the world of Humans.
But today..today was the day, the day he was going to meet more of the Heeler family, Bluey and Bingo's Uncle and aunt to be specific not to mention their cousins, to say he was a bit nervous was a understatement on the matter, The Heelers have been very understanding to him, but how would the rest of the family react to him? despite the fact that Both Bandit and Chili told him plenty of times leading up to this day that Stripe and Trixie were very kind dogs, who'd no doubt love to get to know him. but even still, he was not a dogfolk, and the day he was taken to the hospital played out in his head, the stares, the mummers... How would they react to him?
" You kids almost ready, we got get out the door asap if we want to be on time " Bandit called up the stairs toward his two daughters who were eagerly making their way down.
" What does, Azzap mean? " Bingo asked
" Asap mate, means to hurry " Bandit said gently patting them along toward the door as they arrived at the bottom.
" Daaad, can we have a Hairy monster attack on the way? "
" That is defiantly not a Asap game " Bandit chuckle rolling his eyes as he fallowed his kids toward the Door.
" Jacob? you all set then? were are heading out now " Chili poked her head into the living room making Jacob brake his train of thought, he looked over at Chili for a moment before giving a nod.
" Y-yeah, all set, " he spoke, rubbing the back of his neck, he had already had a quick shower. " Don't think I'll get used to Dog shampoo " He muttered
" Right then, well lets get to it then, the BBQ awaits, and hey, it'll be all fine, remember we called ahead and told them about you, " she nodded as Jacob did the same, recalling how the other day the Heelers informed the other Heelers about his presence, only everyone made the agreement to not quite mention his exact ordeal to anyone else just yet until more on that is understood.

As the car drove along, Jacob sat there looking out the window, again watching the dog world go by, It had been the first time Jacob had been away from the Heeler house sense his trip to the hospital, which when he thought about it, was over a week ago now, a over a week he had been here. over a week sense he awoke in the Heeler's backyard...
" I can't wait for you to meet Muffin and socks! " Bluey spoke eagerly, " They love games too! " she grinned her tail wagging with enthusiasm.
" It's going to be really fun!" Bingo chimed in
" Alright kids, were here " Bandit said as he pulled up to a very fancy two story home, that had a a mid high brick fence around it.
Bandit parked the car right up next of the home, the pups were very hyped with excitement when the car stopped, already Bluey and Bingo were ready to jump right out, for standing outside the brick fence by a wooden fence door stood another Heeler dog, female by the looks of it, with light grey and white fur with black spots and patches on her.
" Aunt Trixie! " Bluey and Bingo both chime as they quickly rush out of the car to greet their relative with a Hug and tail wag.
" Hello girls! great to see you " she chuckled returning the hug.
" Where's Muffins and socks? " Bluey asked.
" Oh, there around here somewhere, probably inside still " Trixie said.
" Come one Bingo, lets go find them and show them Jacob! " Both the pups quickly hurried off, before Trixie could reply more on that, Bandit and Chili had gotten out of the car and approached her with a greeting as well next. however Jacob, remained sitting in there watching.
" Trix, how's it going " Bandit spoke with a thumbs up " where's stripe? "
" Ooh, he's still out back fiddling with that new State of the art grill " Trixie chuckled and shaking her head.
" Ah, classic stripe " Bandit smirked before heading on toward the house. " better let me have a gander at it. " Chili rolled her eyes as he headed off before she quickly caught up with Trixie herself, whom then spoke up again.
" So, Is it true, you have someone new for us to meet then? " Trixie said curiously as Chili then nodded her head.
" Oh yes, we do, he is...Oh? " Chili then glanced around for the human only to notice he was still in the car peeking out the window, " hold on a moment." she said to Trixie before gesturing for Jacob to come out " Jacob, come on dear, Trixie would like to meet you. he's a bit..shy " She explained briefly.
Jacob taking a deep breath opened the door and made his way over to them now.
" This hear is Jacob " Chili nodded and allowing for the boy to introduce himself properly.
" Uh, Hey, it's very nice to meet you." Jacob spoke politely if still a bit awkwardly despite trying his best not too.
" Jacob is that right?, well I heard a bit about you, Welcome to our home dear, I'm Trixie, Bluey and Bingo's aunt " she spoke nodding her head as Jacob nodded in response. Jacob almost seemed a bit surprised how causal she was responding to him, but he decided to just go with it.
" T-thanks " he nodded, the Heeler women chuckled " Well, we can hear more about you once we get out back, come on then let's get settled " Trixie said...
In the Backyard, Jacob was met with a fairly impressive set up, a large fancy patio with a Pool, gezeebo and lots of seating with sun chairs where set up, the House itself even had a sort of Under space built into it which sort of looked like an outdoor kitchen with a table, counter and grill within it. that's where Jacob saw Bandit chatting with another Heeler dog, this one also had Blue fur like Bandit only was much lighter, and had a whit muzzle, only his right side of his head over his eye was black , and Jacob could see this Dog had one floppy ear. not to mention he was wearing a black apron.
" I'm telling you, you have to turn the propane handle clockwise " Bandit rolled his eyes as the other shook his head and began to explain things to him.
" No no no, this isn't how this one works, you need to use the panel to heat it up, it's just-"
*Ahum* Trixie cleared her throat, catching both Dog's attention
Bandit then widen his eyes " Ooh right, Stripe I need to introduce you too someone I mentioned before " he spoke looking at Jacob and giving a wink.
" Oh right right, well let's meet them, where is this fella? " The other Heeler spoke standing back and glancing over and taking notice of Jacob, for a brief moment his face seemed to be that of a look of perplexation from merely seeing the boy standing there, Jacob stared back already feeling the Awkward tension build, Bandit seemed to sense this as he then nudge the Heeler.
" Oh*Ahum* well hello there Lad, Nice to meet you, I'm Stripe Heeler " the Dog spoke extending a paw out for the boy to shake.
" Pleasures all mine.." Jacob responded accepting the shake. Bandit and chili and even Trixie all smiled at this...
...
A short bit later
" A Human huh? , sounds, very fascinating, first time I heard of that...breed " Stripe spoke as he threw some some Chicken to the grill.
Jacob gave a awkward tug of his shirt " Not exactly a " Breed " but yeah it's not common around here. " Jacob explained.
" I see , tell us, Jacob, what's it like were you're from then ? Canada is it? " Stripe asked next.
" Well, it's uuh, very different from..Here, in Australia " Jacob spoke, sharing a brief look with Bandit and Chili.
" I bet so." Trixie spoke up with a chuckle " That's practically on the other side of the world, quite a travel you had to get here I imagine " she added as she stood there preparing some drinks in glasses.
" You can certainly say that again " Jacob muttered slightly with a sheepish look.
" Do you enjoy things here though? I imagine it's never dull at the Heeler house? " Trixie chuckled.
" It's quite the experience,..out of this world " Jacob said, prompting stripe and Trixie to chuckle. Jacob then began to explain how he finds things thus far and mention what he likes to do and how he's finding things interesting about.."Australia"
" So yeah, this guy called "Mr Fellmin hosts this show, talking about all sorts of weird things about the Land down under, it's pretty fascinating actually " Jacob explained the TV show he's been gripped by sense he discovered it.
" He sounds like quite the character " Stripe spoke.
" It's called " Strange Australia with Mr Fellmin " it's pretty cool" Jacob nodded..
" Jacob! Jacob! " Bluey's Voice rang out as the young Blue heeler pup came running up to him. "There you are, come on! "
" Oh hey Bluey, what's up? " Jacob asked as the young Heeler pup then grabbed his hand
" Come on! you have to meet Muffin and Socks! they are just inside " Bluey said practically pulling him away.
" Bluey " Chili chuckled at her daughters enthusiasm.
" It's okay Mrs. Heeler " Jacob said before Quickly fallowing, or more being led by the young Heeler pup through the back entry of the home, where just inside the Living room, Bingo was seen with two other young pups, Jacob took quick notice to see one of the pups was sitting on their rear legs, in a
" I'm back! " Bluey spoke as one of the young pups spoke up, only they spoke in a slightly impatience sounding voice.
" Finally Bluey! we were waiting for ages, lets see this..Heeuumon? " the young pup spoke, a female heeler with grey fur, and many black and white spots on her body. from the looks and sound of it too, she seemed a bit younger then even Bluey and Bingo.
" Alright! Muffin, socks, Meet Jacob! " Bluey said gesturing toward Him as He stood there with all the young pups staring at him, eyes blinking as if seeming to process or...inspect what they were seeing, Jacob starred back simply awkwardly glancing around before he spoke up.
" Uuh, Hello? "
" Where's all you're Fur! " the young pup spoke again now almost in a confused and somehow demanding manner.
" Muffin, Humans don't have fur " Bluey said crossing her arms like that would be a common fact they should know, " they only have some on the top of their head. "
" Yeah, and they don't have Tails either " Bingo added.
" No tails? that's silly! " Muffin almost shouted
Jacob decided to speak up on the matter" It's true, us humans have no Fur or tails. I know it seems a little strange to you-"
" It's vewey strange! " the pup said again crossing her arms and looking away.
Jacob awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck as he tries to speak some more." You must be Muffin I suppose? "
The pup glanced over at him for a moment " Yeah, I'm muffin! " she said suddenly seeming very proud and happy to declare so.
" Eer, It's nice to meet you Muffin, so, yes, I am Jacob, the Human " he said kneeling down a bit to her level.
" Hmm, you're strange, but I guess prwetty neat too " Muffin said eyeing him up almost in judgemental way.
Jacob then glanced over to seethe other pup who seemed to be standing back a bit further, now on all fours , they had light blue fur and almost the same colour pattern to stripe with one black patch over their left eye only, the young pup watched Jacob with a mix of both intense curiosity and what seemed uncertainty?
" That's Socks " Muffin said " she's only one."
" She doesn't really know how to talk much yet " Bingo added.
Jacob nodded as he slightly approached socks next. " Hello there socks, I'm Jacob " he said as the young pup looked at him seeming to cock her head before suddenly doing something that he did not expect..she glared and growled at him before suddenly bursting out in a frantic state of barking!
" Woof! woof! woof! " she jumped up on all fours, and growled more at him, the Human stood up stepping back a bit.
" Uuuh? " Jacob was unsure how to react to the sudden turn of event here.
" Socks, you don't have to bark at Jacob, he's friendly " Bluey said as the young pup looked at her, seeming to be listening to her, before she then looked back over at Jacob and barked again before giving a small more subtle growl.
" Um, does she do that often? " Jacob asked as Bluey shrugged.
" That's just how socks like to act. "
...
Back outside
" And that's how he came to be with us " Chili said as she finished explaining the situation with Jacob excluding the whole coming from a different world bit, she and the rest of the adult sat under the shade around the table of the outside kitchen.
" You just found him in you're backyard like that ? " Trixie spoke up voice showing that of slight concern.
" Yeah, that's where he was, lost, and unable to figure out where his folks are. but he was on vacation here with them before we stumbled upon him " Bandit added with a nod.
" The Poor dear, it's a good thing you were able to find and help him when you did " Trixie added
" It's sounds like a really strange case, and it's been a whole week and nothing yet on what you can do for him ? " Stripe said next.
" Have you tried using the authorities? " Trixie added.
" Well, we did think about it, but it's a bit complicated, but we are aiming to figure this all out " Chili said.
Stripe and Trixie looked at each other before both nodded understandably at this, before Stripe spoke back up.
" Did you tell Mum about this yet? "
Bandit shook his head " No, not yet, but I think I'll ring her up soon to let her know what's up, she ought too, besides no telling how long Jacob will be with us, but best to inform anyone else in the family to be sure "
" And thanks you two, we know it's a bit different to have someone with Jacob's, presence around " Chili said.
" Well we admit is it is different, never seen anyone quite like him before, how do most other folks react? " Trixie spoke.
Bandit and chili shared a brief look, as Chili cleared her throat.
" Well, it's been fairly smooth so far, and that's how we wish to keep things until we can decide what to do with him to get him home."
" Well I know you'll make the right choice on how to figure this out " Trixie added.
" Thanks Trix, it's certainly a most unusual situation " before bandit glanced at the grill " uh, you wanna check on that chicken maybe flip ? "
" Nah mate there all good " Stripe said waving his hand " with this grill never need to worry about that sort of thing "
" Lets play Hide and seek! I'm really good at now, I'm super focused " Bluey spoke, as everyone tried to think of a game they could all play, Jacob stood back watching the young pups discuss activities, save for Socks who was busy chewing on a Ball,
" She really reminds me of Dogs back...Home " Jacob thought to himself arching a brow slightly.
" What if we play, Pancake shop? " Bingo then suggested next.
" We need sand and water for that one Bingo " Bluey said rolling her eyes,
" I say we Play Dinosaur park! " Muffin then yelled out " He is vewey tall, he should be the Dinosaur! " Muffin chimed pointing at Jacob.
" Yeah Dinosaur Park! " Bluey and Bingo exclaimed, Jacob looked at them before asking.
" Okay, sooo, what's Dinosour park? "
" it's a game where one of us has to be a hungry Dinosaur, and chase everyone around because you got out of you're cage and want to gobble them up, Buuuut, there is a Dinosaur Hunter who has to stop you and put you back in you're cage, my dad made this game up! "
" I wonder if they have movies like we do " Jacob thought as he chuckled a bit." Fine, okay, I'll pretend to be a " Dinosaur " " he said much to the pups enjoyment.
" Hooray! "
As the adults continued to chat outside about various topics, the sound of laughter and playful screaming inside echoed around.
" You won't catch me Hungry Dinosaur! " Bingo shouted laughing as she ran,
" Gaaaaaggghhh! " Muffin shout running dramatically around the living room.
Jacob stood there and held up his arms in a ferocious fashion, " Uh, I am a hungry dinosaur, I'm gonna gobble you? " he spoke, trying his best to be in character.
Muffin stopped in her tracks as she looked at him " Hey! Dinosaurs can't talk! they only growl and roar! " she spoke firmly.
" Oh,right right, hang out *Ahum* " Raaaooor! " Jacob flailed his arms and began chasing the pups all over, laughing and screaming as they did, pretending to try and gobble them, Socks though jus continued to chew on her ball ignoring the game. that is until Jacob tripped on a toy and tumbled down landing right in front of socks, being more dazed then hurt though.
" Uuh, hello again socks." Jacob said in a friendly tone, but the young pup just glared at her and let out another series of barks.
" Okay! backing up" Jacob said standing up and backing away. he then turned back to look for the rest of the pups only to see none of them were present now.
" Hmm? where did they go? " he said as he began to look around the room, " probably went outside. " Jacob though as he proceed to head outside, once he exited the room the three pups all popped there heads out from around a corner.
" Good it's left, we have to figure out how to catch this Hungry Dinosaur "...
Outside
Jacob entered the backyard, looking around the space for the pups but to his surprise only saw the adults sitting around still chatting, the rest of the yard seemed to be empty.
" Hey mate! " Bandit suddenly called over to Jacob who looked over back at them,
" How are things going? how are the kids, not playing too wild are they? " Bandit chuckled.
Jacob approached then sheepishly as he did " eeeh, they roped me into a game of theirs I admit, but met muffin and socks, nice kids " he spoke as the others listened on.
" Ah yeah, they are quite little angels " Stripe spoke in a praising tone, to which Jacob couldn't help but chuckle a bit at.
" How they treating you? " Trixie spoke asked.
" Good, all good, " he thought about asking about why Socks was..acting the way she did with him, but didn't want to make anything Awkward with it so he decided against it for the time being.
" Kids have me playing a game called " Dinosaur Park " " Jacob stated as suddenly everyone's eyes widen before a knowing look appeared on them with Bandit chuckling.
" Ooh mate, that's a good one, but let me just give you a bit of a warning, be prepared for the end of that one "
Jacob cocked his head slightly " What is that supposed to mean? "
Bandit snickered a little " Ah nothing to worry about mate, but you'll see " he smirked slightly.
" Bandit " Chili said crossing her arms with a smile, as the Bluey Heeler shrugged.
" What? I gave him a warning, can't tell him or that won't be fair " he added as Jacob looked at them both.
" H-hey, no wait, you have to tell me what's going to happen? I'm a Hungry Dinosaur, what's going to happen!? " the boy began to back up from the table before looking around, " I have to find those kids " he said as he quickly made his way back toward the house, but just as he was he suddenly saw all three pups standing there in the doorway.
" There's the Hungry Dinosaur! lets stop him once and for all! " Bluey shouted.
Jacob looked a bit confused for a moment " Uuh, Roar? "
" Get Him!" all the pups shouted as they suddenly charged at the Human screaming as they did.
" Huh!? N-now wait hold on, whats-! " Jacob broke character as he tried to reason with them but before he could say anything else the pups all jumped up and tackled the human to the ground piling on top of him,
" Tickle the Dinsour! " Bluey shouted.
" W-what! No don't you dar!ahahahaha!" Jacob burst out into a fit of laughter as the pups began tickling him all over,
" Take that you big ole Dinosaur! " Bingo said
" That'll teach you to try and gobble us up! Bluey added
" Yeeaaah! " Muffin shouted
" Hahaha, enough! hahaha come on! " Jacob laughed and squirmed as the pups continued to tickle him. The adults watched on with amused faces at the scene, chuckling at the moment. even socks now poked her head outside to see what was going on, and saw the tickle attack going on.
" Bandit, go help him out now ' Chili demanded with a smirk.
Bandit sighed playfully shaking his head " fine, fine hang on.'' he said getting up now and waking over to the playing pups.
" Alright, that's enough kids, off him now " Bandit said, but the kids Kept on tickling, " Hey, come on, I said off." Bandit said not grabbing Bluey off of Jacob, this in turn though had her suddenly shout
"Daddy dinosaur! Tickle him!"
Bandit's eyes suddenly went wide " Uh oh.."
Soon all the pups quickly jumped and tackled bandit now and began to tickle him next.
" No no! hahaha, I'm not, Hahaha playing hahaha " Bandit shouted as he was tickled, this in turn allowed Jacob to catch his breath he saw bandit laughing as he was tickled and began roaring.
" Rooaar hahaha, grrr, stopahaahp ticking Dahahady dinosaur! "
Jacob sighed as he began to scoot back from the scene now, however Socks who was watching the whole scene play out curously noticed this and for a moment seemed to understand what was going on and quickly narrowed her eyes and ran up to the scene she stopped right in from of Jacob and began barking at him.
" Woof woof woof! " she barkedas if she was trying to stop him from...escaping, she then ran up to muffin and began trying to tug on her.
" Not now socks! we have to sto-" Muffin cut herself off to see Jacob scooting away.
" Hey! the Hungry Dinosaur is getting away! " all the pups stopped tickling Bandit for a moment and looked at Jacob for a brief moment before they all shouted and charged at Jacob again/
" Oh dang..' Jacob braced himself as he was once again dog piled by the pups and even socks who looked quite proud of herself.
" Thanks socks! " Bluey said praising the pup who let out a happy sounding Howl...
...
Shortly after
Everyone sat around the table now, each with a cool drink of lemonade served to them, and the chicken soon to be ready.
" It'll be done any minute now, then you'll see how this Grill really handles " Stripe said boastfully.
" Yeah yeah, " Bandit said shaking his head.
" That was quite the game you had there wasn't it? " Chili now spoke to Jacob who sat there cheeks flushing a bit
" Yeah, sure you could say that " he sheepishly spoke.
" you make a good Hungry dinosaur " Bluey chimed. and socks makes the best Dinosaur hunter! "
" Woof woof Awooo!" Socks howled again happily.
" You have quite the energy socks" Jacob added.
The rest of the Heelers all laughed at this. when finally stripe stood up now when a beeping timer went off on the grill.
" Ah ha! see what I tell you, it even comes with a timer on not just when too flip and when to take em out " He said as he headed over to the grill " let's have some nice roasty toasty chicken! " he spoke as everyone got ready to enjoy the BBQ.
Stripe opened the grill and instantly a heavy black smoke and a whoosh of flams that prompted the Heeler to cough and stand back, he instantly hit the kill button on the grill and once he did it settled down to reveal some very...Very cooked chicken! black and crispy looking.
" Eeer, perhaps the grill can still use some fine tuning..." he admitted with sheepish look.
" Classic Stripe " Bandit shook his head as everyone began to laugh at the moment beforehand, shaking their heads in in disbelief, Jacob sat there among them as everyone despite what had just happened seemed to be having a good time with it.
Jacob couldn't help but smile and let out a little chuckle himself, perhaps he didn't need to worry too much about what the rest of the heelers would think of him, at least the he can feel like today might just have been a success all things considered.. just might be..
" Who want's the extra crispy and who wants the Extra extra crispy ? " Stripe spoke holing some burnt chicken with some Tongs..
