Disclaimer: Pokemon is owned by the Nintendo, Hakunon/Fate is owned by the all-powerful Mushroom(Nasu), and all that stuff.
Turns out that being inside a lunar sea was not the same as being out in the ocean on an actual vessel. She honestly felt terrible. Something inside of her did not enjoy this even if she wanted to take in the sight of the open ocean.
"Tink."
"There there…" The holographic Celebi patted her back as she clutched onto a bucket. "I'm… so lucky I'm not physically here right now." Hakuno wanted to roll her eyes but the room was already spinning.
Hakuno groaned, at least there was only one more day of this.
"Why don't you go get her some water and some more medicine?" Elpis, the Guardian of the Forest, asked of her. Nomia nodded repeatedly as she climbed off the bed and got out from the small door at the bottom.
She was grateful they thought of Pokemon her size!
She dragged her newly formed hammer, made of a random tray she found outside their door, and clamored towards perhaps the only Pokemon she could think of that could help them and she had an inkling where they would be.
She had to weave and dodge around a few of the more rowdy Trainers and their Pokemon, and resist the urge to grab a decent-looking silver chalice but endured for her Boss and Trainer
It didn't take too long to find the Pokemon once she managed to find the Cafeteria. Her sense of smell was great at finding food! Her mouth salivated at the different berries and things, she wasn't sure what they were but they smelled amazing, shaking her head she ran towards the Large Brown Pokemon pouring out ladles of soup for some strange Purple Pokemon that sort of looked like a Shadow.
"Oh? Oh my, a little baby, move over son." The large brown Pokemon shifted the ladle from one hand into the other as they leaned down and tried to scoop Nomia up with one hand.
"Mama, that one isn't really a baby!" Nomia nodded quickly before she was placed in the Kangaskhan's pouch. Maybe it was her child's complaint or the fact she had a hammer but the larger Pokemon stopped.
"Oh my, you're right, what did you need then little one?" Nomia struggled and barely managed to escape the larger Pokemon's grip shifting her hammer she frowned. She ignored the smaller one as they climbed out of their mother's pouch.
"Boss needs medicine and water." She wasn't too sure what type of medicine she needed but she was probably poisoned so a Pecha Berry was probably the right thing right?
"Boss… your Trainer right?" Nomia rolled her eyes but nodded, "Ah, the Captain here has some, he gets this awful seasickness when close to Vermilion City and has learned to live with it." The mighty Pokemon lumbered away from the serving station and went into a backroom. Great now she was alone with the child, ignoring whatever people called her she was not a child! She was a fully powerful Pokemon that could fight by herself.
"You're a pet or working Pokemon?" She scoffed at the Baby's question. As if she could be someone's pet that thought never even crossed her mind back when she was living on the streets.
"Starter for my Boss! She is an amazing trainer!" She couldn't help but puff out her chest in pride, they might have had a recent spat but things were looking up! She was letting her have a bit more control and well Nomia admitted she was a bit too reckless, that Dhelmise was a wake-up call. She didn't challenge the large Blue Pokemon she saw firing off that super cool beam on her way here! That's an improvement!
"You're a Trainer Pokemon?" The little Kangaskhan had stars in their eyes, "That's so cool! Maybe one day I can be one…"
Nomia smirked, "Become strong and grow up! Don't be weak and find yourself a good trainer like Boss…" She paused For a moment, "But uh, not my Boss, you're too little and weak."
She knew that Boss would get a larger team, there was only so much they could do with just them but… Nomia wanted a bit more time to prove themselves first. Hopefully, figure out that Archfey's move to. She was so close she could taste it!
But… if they got in more fights like against that anchor… she would need backup.
The baby Kangaskhan frowned and was going to talk again but its mother lumbered into view. "Here you go child, have her add it to the water and if she is still feeling bad when we reach port make take her to the Pokecenter alright? And the Medicine is from Cianwood, they make some good stuff. Effective on both us and our Humans." Nomia nodded as she was handed a strange pill and a plastic water bottle.
"Thank You!" Nomia wasn't sure why she could have a pecha berry but the pill should be more human medicine, right? Like that strange bitter-smelling powder she keeps in one of her sleeves.
But she has to take this back to Boss!
The medicine was a great help. They were expecting landfall in a couple of hours and Hakuno felt mostly fine. She has no idea how she will handle the travel to Silver Rock Isle or Olivine but Cianwood is known for its herbal remedies so she will have to go and find some.
For the first time since she boarded the cruise, she was able to see the open ocean. It was a sight she could not fully describe, it was beautiful and haunting, dull and lively. It was a contradiction that she couldn't help but use Parcae to take a video that hopefully could capture even a small part of the majesty.
Nomia was already in her Friend Ball, the little Pokemon was tuckered out and deserved a treat when they landed, along with Elpis and Parcae, the three of them really made sure that her Seaward Journey was at least bearable. Hopefully, the next one she could enjoy it, she idly wondered if it would be worse or better if she had a Pokemon of her own that could Surf but pushed that thought out of her mind for now.
That would be something to think about in the future when she would be comfortable enough to travel in either Open Skies or Open Ocean with just her Pokemon, and even if she had a Pokemon that could Fly or strong enough to carry her. But it would be something she would like to do at least once.
Her eyes could trace what she believed to be Cianwood Docks, the town was a lot larger than she was expecting, easily larger than Palmpona was. Was Azelea town just tiny or was it the fact that both are port towns? The 'Region' map that Parcae downloaded didn't go into great detail about city size but the fact that they were still two hours away.
Her eyes lingered on the battling court, she could see a few Trainers sparing on it, she wasn't sure what Pokemon a giant blue dinosaur was but the fact it was in a biting competition with one that looked more like a red crocodile was a weird sight to behold more so with the two trainers not giving commands and acting annoyed.
She shook her head and looked back at the ocean… Ugh. Looking into the ocean for so long made her stomach ache. She shook her head before heading back to her room, at least there she could get ready for landfall.
Cianwood Port was busy to a comical degree, Hakuno really only had Palmpona to compare it to but the amount of people running around was easily double if not triple. If it wasn't for Parcae leading her in a direction she would have no idea where to go. She still had a spare day to relax before she had to head to Cianwood Gym and start her training camp.
She also learned it was mainly the port of the town that was busy, the actual town of Cianwood was a half-hour's walk away from the Port and was a lot smaller. She wasn't sure exactly why the Port wasn't a town in its own right, it had a Pokecenter, stores, and hotels, but she wasn't the judge of that situation.
The actual town of Cianwood was a lot quieter, the buildings a lot more rustic, and reminded her heavily of Azelae town but still, she would guess double the town was still double the size of the forest town.
"Why do I need to head towards this house?" Parcae directed her not towards the town proper but to a small building slightly secluded on the outskirts of the town.
"Victor Hakuno the Medicine you took, using information gleaned from the Captain's logs, was purchased from this building which research has led to believe a type of alchemist that follows a typical Western Clock-Tower style resides in this shop."
Hakuno didn't really know what the Clock Tower was, other than a meeting group of mages when the World had Mana, but she did know what an Alchemist was. One of the few people she might have gotten along with if things were different was an Alchemist after all…
Nomia tugged on her sleeve, "Tinkatink."
Hakuno rolled her eyes as she picked up Nomia, sadly she wouldn't be able to do this for much longer when she evolved to a Tinkatuff she would more than double in weight and size considering her hammer would be too unwieldy to carry at the same time compared to her current rattle.
"Parcae, from now on unless needed don't go snooping in people's private life. Or anything that could be 'illegal'." She didn't think she would have to add that last part but better be safe than sorry.
She pushed against the unlocked door and waves of smoke and overpowering scents crashed against her, Nomia groaned as the Tinkatink quickly fled to her Pokeball. Oh well, it was just buying some medicine, and she can endure it for now.
It was a quick affair, buying more 'Secret Medicine' that was said to heal even Pokemon… from motion sickness. It was cheap too and vaguely reminded Hakuno of Ether Dust mixed with the Heal Powder she had purchased for Nomia. At least she knew it worked, she would not have trusted it if Parcae hadn't given it the greenlight and her having taken some earlier.
"Welcome to Cianwood City Pokemon Gym," the Girl behind the counter was young, around Maizie's age which was strange but Hakuno ignored it, "The circuit hasn't started but we are taking reservations for Gym Battles."
"I'm here for the Training Camp? And to reserve a slot after it for my first Gym Battle." Might as well do both while she is here.
The Girl's eyes lit up slightly at the mention of the camp, "Oh? You're here last minute... wait your name's Hakuno right?" Hakuno tilted her head at that comment and gave a slight nod, "Was wondering when you were going to show up, D- I mean Gym Leader Chuck was confused when an old friend and Azalea Town's Nurse Joy practically begged to add you in last minute."
Huh, she didn't know Serena Joy did that… Or whoever Chuck's old friend was, it had to either be Kurt or Naoko but she wasn't too sure.
"Well, anyway." The Girl typed something on the computer "Be here the day after tomorrow at 6 am it'll be a week out on Route 47 and Route 48 for the most part so maybe some time in the Safari Zone if our Gym Leader can get the clearance this year oh and make sure you bring water-repellent gear." Ah, Hakuno should stock up on that then.
"Thank you for the recommendation… I'll be back by then Miss…" Hakuno's eyes read the small name tag she wore, "Ren."
She could feel it, the call. Everyone in her clan could feel it, the Great Mother had called for a meeting, they may have been a splintered tribe compared to the one in the Great Cavern but they still all respected the eldest Mother. From the deepest parts of the Savanahh to the desolate crags she has not seen a gathering this large since she was but a young Baby.
The eldest of them, with her green-tipped ears, gave them a long look before glancing back upon the sky, their Moon was full and bright as it shone upon them. Ah, she felt the calling in her blood to return home but alas they bounded to the ground they had become too much like those that walk on these lands forever barred from their Primordial Home.
"Children… Spying upon our Glorious Home, a single tear was shed for the Lunar Child has touched the shores of this land." The Great Mother slowly rotated her head, her eyes drifting from each of her kin from the Final to the Babies. "She may be the Lunar Child but she is not one of ours, she is not a child blessed with the heart and body of the Moon."
With that, a great murmuring amongst her siblings and distant family began, "But, Great Mother if she is not one of ours then what is she?"
The Great Mother's black eyes bored into the foolish Final that dared to have spoken, "She is a Destined Victor as foretold by our Lovely Moon. I do not know why she has come to a land so far from our home, but my eyes can see her, and my ears can hear the whisperings of those she encounters. She is a young Human Child on her First Journey, blessed and protected by a Guardian of the Ilex Woods and a quite unusual little Fae."
Another Fae? Perhaps it was like the Snubbul the defenders of man? Or was it one of the children of the land of Mists that bore their eggs as their shield? Or even one of the Bards that sang the Daylight to sleep at night?
"The Child's destiny will bring her here and when that occurs one of us will accompany her, their Destiny lines with each other until the Stars end."
"Who is it? Who amongst us will ever think of leaving our homes? Even if she is a Champion and a Human…"
"Who indeed…"
Author's Notes: Well! Training Camp starting next chapter! Poor Hakuno was sick for like fifty Percent of the chapter but it happens, the Medicine of the Pokemon World works wonders though!
