Chapter 32- the capture and failed rescue attempt of the Green Arcobalenopod
The crystalline slab of the Westernmost Transporter Pad in the Sky Domain flared a colourful flash as Crimsonandil and her group returned via the Bifrost Transporter to the domain above the clouds. Crimsonandil, the Meerkats, Draco-Blau and his family and Beric, however, were not by themselves. Accompanying them was the group sent with them by Alpha Ramidreju VarmiƱo and Gnome King Basalt to help deal with the crisis in Asgard Sky City. This new group of newcomers were a rare Blue Basan Rooster named Ozai (whose plumage was a neon blue with white and darker blue fringing his comb, wattles, wings and Rooster's tail), three Ramidreju lead by a large male Boar with a long body named Ophiuchus (who was armed with a diamond dagger), several Spinks armed with rapiers and shields, a Gnome man named Stone who was armed with an obsidian sword and a Salamander named Iguana-I-Am; his weapon was a fire whip. Ozai was accompanied by a dumb companion, a Falconfly he has named Hayabusa for he was also a Wasper or someone who trains giant wasps such as Falconflies to assist in hunting and battle much like how falconers used dumb birds of prey, and Ozai's personal weapon of choice was nun chucks made from a special rock that can catch fire.
Crimsonandil and company, together with their new members, were riding on special hovering rocks called levitator rock slabs. These slabs worked like magic carpets and were a form of magical aerial transport. They were going to use these rock slabs to return to Quaoar and his group quicker. As the group got prepared to leave the Transporter Pad for their journey back to Quaoar's group, some of the Bism members flinched when the sunlight fell on them. Obviously due to spending most of their time in the near-darkness of the Underground Domain where the sun does not exist, it was quite a shock to the system. However, Ozai and his group had been on the surface before, having been on ambassador trips as well as rescue assistance trips aboveground so they were used to the sunlight unlike most Underworlerds who were either not keen on the sun or just outright hate it. Once they had gotten over the shock of having the rays of the sun fall on them so suddenly, they shook it off and prepared for the journey.
"Right, let's get this show on the wing," said Draco-Blau, "It's time Quaoar had some additional help joining him and his group."
"In their tasks such as rescuing our trapped friends in Asgard, especially Iguana-I-Am's brother Lizard-I-Am and his family," said the blue Basan, Ozai, his Falconfly Hayabusa perched on his shoulder and his satchel tied around his waist.
"Indeed, Lizard-I-Am an' his family are in dire need," said Iguana-I-Am, his red-orange scales emanating their lava-like glow into the air, "We DESPERATELY must get them and th' others freed."
"Absolutely, Iguana," said Ozai, "The sooner we can get to Asgard, the better."
"Lizard-I-Am and his family will be in desperate need of bathing in lava as well," added Stone the Gnome. The others nodded in agreement. Then Draco-Blau nodded to Crimsonandil.
"Okay, let's contact Quaoar via the crystalline screen communicator and tell him that your trip to obtain your new Urulite flywheel has been a success and that we're now on our way back to him," said the Blue Bat-Bird Winged Dragon.
"An' tha' we 'ave some new helpers wi' us," added the Meerkat captain. Crimsonandil reached into her satchel (returned to her by the Meerkats once her flywheel was casted and she was healed of her burns from the superheated airflow in the Urulite Forging Chamber) and began to fumble about for the octahedron crystal but as she did that, one of the Ramidreju members happened to turn his head and as he did so, his eyes landed on something.
"Guys, look," he called to the others and shot a paw point at what he had seen. Crimsonandil and the others followed the Ramidreju's paw point and sure enough, the object melted into visibility as it got closer to the group's location.
"Looks like some sort of Sky Squid," said a Spink, "A Sky counterpart to the Magma Squid in our Domain and the Eastern Ocean Rainbow Squid."
The leader of the three Ramidreju sent with the group, Ophiuchus squinted his eyes at the incoming object and realised that the 'squid' was not a Sky Squid, a Sky Domain species of Flying Squid.
"Um, Digger-Quail," said he, "That's not a Sky Squid; its body shape is not that of one."
"Neizer do Sky Squid leave behind light trails," said Beric. Crimsonandil and the Meerkats squinted harder at the creature as it came close enough such that its details can be distinguished and when they saw what it was, they flinched.
"That's DEFINITELY not a Sky Squid," said the former and with that, she got her Urulite flywheel prepared, spread her red-orange wings and lofted into flight after the creature as it flew over them, especially as the sounds of whale calls emitted from it.
"Crimsonandil!" cried Draco-Blau and he and his wife and three sons also lofted into flight after the Vermillion Bird. As the five Bat-Bird Winged Dragons took off, the new Bism helpers felt amazement sweep through them like a shockwave.
"Is that an..." began another Spink.
"Arcobalenopod," cried Ozai, his Falconfly Hayabusa flinching on his shoulder, "And the Green one. It's one of the seven Sky Domain Arcobalenopods who serve part of the guardian group of the Domain high above the clouds."
"Wow, we've only ever seen them in murals and picture books back in our Underground Domain libraries," said the third Ramidreju near Ophiuchus, "But we'd NEVER thought we'd see one of those seven magnificent creatures in the flesh."
"It certainly is a creature of might," said Iguana-I-Am, his red-orange scales glowing, "It certainly is an AWESOME sight."
"'Tis indeed," said the Meerkat captain as he brandished his rapier, his underlings including Scuttle doing the same with theirs, "But we shouldn't be just standin' 'ere admirin' th' Green Arcobalenopod."
Ozai gazed at the Land Domain Talking Critters quizzically.
"Why?" asked the Blue Basan. The Meerkats gazed back at the Blue Fire Rooster with a VERY serious look as did Beric the Sunling.
"You-know-who in Asgard Sky City is after those creatures," said the Meerkat captain, "An' we believe 'e wants ALL seven of 'em."
Ozai gazed in wonder at the Meerkat group as he interpreted these sentences.
Back up in the air, Crimsonandil continued flying as fast as she could towards the creature, the Green Arcobalenopod (which was a female) as she continued to fly over the location of the rest of Crimsonandil's group. Whale-like whistles and whispers continued to escape from her as she continued to sing like one. Though they don't have any visible mouth, the Arcobalenopods can still vocalise. Crimsonandil then began to cry for her attention, the family of Blue Bat-Bird Winged Dragons flying after her and calling to her.
"GREEN ARCOBALENOPOD!" screeched the Vermillion Bird as she continued to try and catch up to the massive light green and dark green cephalopod-like creature whose head was spherical and body split into two five tentacles: two arm-like nearer the head and three tail-like ones at the end of her body. The creature's tentacle tips, eyes and antennae clubs were darker green compared to the rest of her body which was lime green. With this colouration, the Green Arcobalenopod resembled more of a creature from the Land Domain than one from the Sky, particularly a creature from a Land Domain forest. As the Green Arcobalenopod continued flying on, a lime green trail of light was traced out in her wake like a paintbrush spreading green paint onto a canvas. All seven Arcobalenopods left behind light trails of their primary colour as they flew and when all seven flew together in the correct order, they painted the seven-coloured rainbow, one of Aslan's signatures in Narnia, in the sky. However, those seven were in grave danger and one of them, the Blue one, has already been captured and Crimsonandil, knowing this as revealed by Momotaro the Peach Elf and his three Animal Friends, Inu the Dog, Kiji the Pheasant and Saru the Macaque who had actually witnessed the Blue Arcobanelopod's capture during their night spy trip that night, wanted to seize the opportunity in warning the Green one.
Crimsonandil continued her rushed flight after the Green Arcobalenopod, shouting her name and uttering squeaky whistles as best she could to get her attention. Behind her, the Blue Bat-Bird Winged Dragon family of five looked on.
"Do you think she'll be able to get the Green Arcobalenopod's attention, Draco-Blau?" asked Draco-Blau's wife. Draco-Blau looked on as Crimsonandil continued to shout for the Green Arcobalenopod's attention to warn her that she was in danger. However, just as the Green Arcobalenopod was about to stop and turn her gaze to Crimsonandil as the Vermillion Bird managed to approach her enough for the lime green cephalopod-like Sky Creature to hear, a MASSIVE slashing sound of something fiery cleaved the Sky Domain air like a Land Domain sword through a fruit.
"CRIMSONANDIL, LOOK OOOOUUUT!" cried Draco-Blau and with that, the Blue Bat-Bird Winged Dragon surged at the Vermillion Bird, seized her tail feathers with his beak and yanked her downward while his wife and sons released HORRIFIED screams as the fiery something, an orange fire laser stream, launched from somewhere and at Crimsonandil and the Green Arcobalenopod. Crimsonandil was yanked down by the tail feathers (with her crying as it was painful but Draco-Blau was not meaning to cause her this) as the fire beam, a phaser blast, slashed between her and the Green Arcobalenopod. The phaser clipped the tail tentacles of the creature and made her release a whale-like cry of agony but that beam had also struck Crimsonandil in the face and upper body. As Draco-Blau pulled Crimsonandil back to his family and released her tail feathers, apologising to her as he did, Crimsonandil looked up and also released a scream as the Green Arcobalenopod writhed in agony from her injured and burned tail tentacles, the three green-tipped appendages smoking. Behind the five Bat-Bird Winged Dragons and the Vermillion Bird, the others flew up on their levitator rock slabs. The Meerkats rode with Ozai and Hayabusa and had seen Crimsonandil's close shave from the phaser attack as well as that same attack striking the Green Arcobalenopod on the tail tentacles.
"Vermilion Bird of the South," called the Blue Basan, "Crimsonandil, are you alright?"
However, the Vermillion Bird's attention was on the injured Arcobalenopod as she emitted whale-like cries of pain with her eyes closed tightly in agony. The Spinks immediately recognised what had hit the Arcobalenopod and almost Crimsonandil as well.
"That was the blast from a Narnian Moon weapon, the phaser," said one of them named Digger-Quail who was the leader of the Spink group. As the Mole-Bird said this, Ophiuchus called his two Ramidreju comrades riding their levitator slabs and immediately, the three green striped serpentine weasels with Hog-like heads rocketed towards the injured Green Arcobalenopod. On the way, they pulled out some of their green fur, pained grunts emitting from their mouths as they did that, and put those green fur locks into their mouths to soak them in their saliva. Scuttle saw the three Ramidreju do this and was a little repulsed.
"Why are those three putting locks of their fur in their mouths?" asked he.
"Ramidreju fur and also their spit have healing properties," explained Stone the Gnome, "They sometimes use their fur and/or their spit to help heal certain wounds, injuries and at times certain surface diseases like skin infections. They often combine their spit and fur by soaking the latter in their former to enhance their healing capabilities as a combination. However, they rarely use their fur as it can be VERY painful to pull it straight out of their coat so they most often use their spit instead. They use their hair also as an ingredient for a potion called Ramidreju Fur Potion back in our Domain. However, that potion is a cream for external application and is NOT a consumable like most potions."
Scuttle and the other Meerkats looked on as Ophiuchus and the other two Ramidreju reached the Green Arcobalenopd and immediately placed their saliva-soaked fur locks on her burned tail tentacles. In a short time, the Arcobalenopod's burns were healed and the fur was absorbed into the wounds. However, after the three Ramidreju healed the Arcobalenopod's burns from the phaser attack, Beric saw something rush towards the group.
"Guys, LOOOOK!" cried the Sunling and he shot an antennae point at the incoming group. Crimsonandil and the others looked up and to their horror; they saw the incoming group fly in on flats sheets of fabric. Some of the forms were brightly coloured creatures with contrasting stripes similar to Cheshire Cats, some were blue with white clothes and hats, some were yellow or blue and one resembled a strange mix of a yellow leopard, a dog and a monkey, that form flying ahead of the others. As the newcomers came closer, Crimsonandil and the others immediately recognised some of the creatures.
"It's a group of Nestri Primi, Yellow Homunculi, Blue Homunculettes and Blue Elves," cried the former, "And they are lead by a Leopard Water Dog."
The others watched on as the newcomers which were indeed lead by the strange yellow spotted creature (which was really an aquatic creature native to the Eastern Sea despite its apparent terrestrial-built looks; it was amphibious, capable of living both on land and in the sea), then began to converge on the Green Arcobalenopod. Then one of the Nestri Primi, a neon blue and yellow striped one, held something in its hands and fired another fire laser at the Green Arcobalenopod, hitting her in the arm tentacle and causing her to emit a whale-like cry of agony and seized her injured arm tentacle with the other. Fiery outrage tore through Crimsonandil's group at this act of cruelty, especially to one of the most important creatures of the Sky Domain. The three Ramidreju also looked on in UTMOST indignation as they had just healed the Arcobalenopod's tail tentacles.
"The AUDACITY!" snarled Iguana-I-Am and with that, the Salamander readied his fire whip and charged off at the attackers on his levitator slab as the attacking group flew away from the injured Green Arcobalenopod. Crimsonandil and the others followed.
The marauding group which was indeed a group of Nestri Primi, Yellow Homunculi, Blue Homunculettes and Blue Elves from Asgard Sky City lead by the Leopard Water Dog, a female based on her lighter yellow fur named Daffodil, then began to fly around the injured and burned Arcobalenopod, some of them readying some tough ropes and bars which were pieces of a bubble cage which when assembled, casted a force field around the target to trap them. As they circled like vultures around the Green Arcobalenopod, Daffodil began to issue the next command.
"Right, throw those magical binding ropes at our target and let's bind it before we capture it in our bubble cage to take back to Asgard Sky City for Kurama," she called. No sooner than these words escaped her mouth when suddenly, "Throw those ROPES and CAGE BARS at the Arcobalenopod, eh!? Well, face a throw of THIS!"
Daffodil and a Yellow Homunculus stopped on their magic carpets and shot confused gazes this way and that when suddenly, a spinning blue-grey double disc engulfed in flames and attached to a fiery orange-red string came flying at them from somewhere. The Yellow Homunculus looked up just in time to receive a MASSIVE strike to the face by the fiery flywheel, the weapon hitting him square in the mouth. Daffodil flinched violently as the Homunculus, teeth flying everywhere from the fiery flywheel's impact with his face also getting charged by the flames, then fell off his magic carpet before the flaming blue-grey double disc spinning on its red-orange string then flew along the string back to their user who held the string, a magnificent red-orange Bird as she flew in. Daffodil's alarmed, but then horrified, gaze landed on this bird and as it did; the female Leopard Water Dog felt a flash of hot rage burn through her, especially as the Vermillion Phoenix hovered before her, her talon clutching the blue-grey flywheel wrapped in red-orange string.
"OOO-ER, NICHOLYE!?" she bellowed in a high pitched voice, "WHA' did you DO THAT to THAT YELLOW HOMUNCULUS FOR!? Y'KNOW WE HAVE AN ARCOBALENOPOD TO CATCH!"
Then the Vermillion Bird, Crimsonandil, glared at Daffodil with a face that was as fiery as the superheated airstream she had endured in the Urulite Forging Chamber in Bism to help cast her flywheel, a talon clutching said weapon raised and poised to throw.
"I'm Crimsonandil," the Vermillion Phoenix Hen growled in a low, deadly voice like a threatening snarl, "Crimsonandil HUOYAN NIAO!" and with that, she lunged at Daffodil and attempted to strike her with her Urulite flywheel. The flywheel flew at Daffodil but then a neon blue and yellow Nestri Primus flew in and seized the double disc weapon before it could strike the Leopard Water Dog. However, before the Nestri Primus could throw it back at Crimsonandil as a counterattack, the flywheel, being made from a magical metal that imprints on anyone who touches it first after being casted and will ONLY be used by that person, its owner, the flywheel glowed brightly and generated electrical sparks. Daffodil saw what was about to happen, having seen another weapon made from a certain magical metal do this when another Water Dog had attempted to use it during the capture of the Blue Arcobalenopod.
"Tuna, DROP THAT NOW!" the Leopard Water Dog yelled but it was too late; the flywheel's Urulite exploded in an electrical blast and fried the Nestri Primus. The blast nearly knocked Daffodil off her magic carpet. Then Crimsonandil lashed at the singed Nestri Primus, Tuna, and kicked him off his magic carpet before taking his place, her Urulite flywheel clutched in her talons with its sun-string wrapped around its middle. As she did that, three more Yellow Homunculi, all of them armed with phasers, shot more phaser blasts at the Green Arcobalenopod, inflicting her with more burns on the back and tentacles and making her scream. Immediately, Ophiuchus took action. Brandishing his diamond dagger, the Ramidreju flew on his levitator slab and intercepted the three Yellow Homunculi while his two underlings sought to heal the injuries they had inflicted on the Green Arcobalenopod with more of their fur and saliva. As soon as he was the same level as the Yellow Homunculi, he tossed his diamond dagger and fatally impaled one of them in the chest, killing him instantly. As this happened, Crimsonandil lunged at Daffodil but the Leopard Water Dog flew down on her magic carpet to dodge, making Crimsonandil miss. As she did that, she coiled her tail into a spring and clenched its tip into a fist like weapon; Leopard Water Dogs of both sexes can employ their tails as weapons by clenching their tails' tips into a ball and coiling the rest of their tails into a spring. This technique was called the Spring Tail Punch and it was mostly employed by the Leopard Water Dog species due to the springy, prehensile and flexible properties of their tails. Then as soon as Daffodil had coiled her tail enough like a spring, she launched her tail 'fist' at Crimsonandil to tail-punch her. However, the Vermillion Bird dodged and made Daffodil's tail punch attack miss. Around the pair, the rest of Crimsonandil's group launched into battle with the rest of Daffodil's forces, which was an Arcobalenopod hunting party, sent by Kurama to find and capture another Arcobalenopod. They had used an Arcobalenopod tracker to track down the Green Arcobalenopod and were now in the process of capturing her for Kurama but they had been unaware that Crimsonandil's group had been nearby and had seen the Green Rainbow Cephalopod guardian as well.
Crimsonandil lunged at Daffodil and as soon as the female Vermillion Bird and Leopard Water Dog clashed, they began to brawl on their magic carpets. Snarls and screeches exploded from the pair as they proceeded to physically fight each other. Daffodil's hands seized clumps of Crimsonandil's feathers and tore them out of her plumage while Crimsonandil's talons raked over the Leopard Water Dog's pelage and skin. Then Daffodil's tail snaked in and coiled around Crimsonandil's neck like a python and the evil Leopard Water Dog tightened her tail noose and began to strangle Crimsonandil with it, making the Vermillion Bird seize her tail with her wings and struggle for air. Instinctively, the Vermillion Phoenix burst into flames, the red-orange Bird transforming into a flaming avian form. Daffodil's tail was scorched by the flames and she immediately released Crimsonandil's neck and withdrew her tail. After this, Crimsonandil, her flames dying down and now in her red-orange form, jumped from her magic carpet, twirled round and slashed her claws over the Water Dog's face, carving a set of claw marks over her brow. Daffodil's hand-paws flew to her face and she screamed in agony, Crimsonandil, a few bald patches marking her plumage where her for had seized some feathers to rip out, looking on unsympathetically. She then prepared her Urulite flywheel to launch at Daffodil when suddenly; a phaser blast flew Crimsonandil's way and struck the magic carpet she was on. Crimsonandil, nearly injured by the phaser blast (the phasers were hot enough to injure a Phoenix including a Vermillion Bird despite their heat-resistant powers), immediately took off from the flying rug as it ignited into flames and turned to her own wings to fly away, her talons clutching her Urulite flywheel. As she escaped, a Blue Elf armed with a phaser then flew in on his magical carpet and attempted a second try at injuring Crimsonandil with the phaser; he aimed the weapon at the Vermillion Bird and fired the fire laser at her. The laser cleaved through the air but it narrowly missed Crimsonandil, the beam only singing off a few feathers from her crest. Immediately, the Vermillion Bird whirled round and fired her flywheel engulfed in flames at the Blue Elf but he and Daffodil dodged by flying down, making the flywheel miss. Crimsonandil then withdrew her flywheel and flew elsewhere, especially as the Blue Elf attempted to fire another phaser blast at her only to miss.
Ophiuchus (who had retrieved his diamond dagger from the Yellow Homunculus he had struck dead) and his two Remidreju underlings engaged some Blue Homunculettes in battle as they tried to throw binding ropes around the Green Arcobalenopod to bind her. One Blue Homunculette clashed her sword with the lead Ramidreju's diamond dagger and the pair glared daggers as they struggled against each other. Nearby, the Meerkats battled some more Blue Elves and Nestri Primi with Scuttle impaling one of the former through the chest with his rapier for the deathblow to prevent him from throwing a dagger at the Green Arcobalenopod to injure her further. After a few moments, nearby them, the Spinks lead by Digger-Quail drove more several more Nestri Primi together with Stone who managed to cut down one Nestri Primus with his obsidian sword and maim another Nestri Primus. Ophiuchus and the Blue Homunculette continued to wrestle against each other until finally; the former overpowered the latter and shoved her off her magic carpet. However, the Homunculette commanded her carpet to come and catch her and it did, flying under her and catching her. Magic carpets were magically imbued to obey commands similar to most magical forms of transport. Close by, Draco-Blau and his family fought off more of Daffodil's underlings as they tried to circle and bind the Green Arcobalenopod, Draco-Blau cleaving through the binding ropes with his weapon, a dagger. Unlike some types of binding ropes which were immune to breaking by most regular swords and other blades, this binding rope was breakable and had to be in order to release the Arcobalenopod once it was imprisoned. However, this also provided Crimsonandil's group an advantage in protecting the Arcobalenopod from being bound by these ropes. Draco-Blau and his wife and three sons, the latter four also brandishing their daggers they had brought with them and began to fly around and cleave through more ropes as they were thrown at the Green Arcobalenopod from Daffodil's underlings armed with them. However, despite the Blue Bat-Bird Winged Dragons' best efforts, more and more ropes kept flying in at the Arcobalenopod and tightening around her, Daffodil's underlings, most of them Blue Elves and Yellow Homunculi, flying around their target at high speed and throwing more ropes in quick succession.
"They're THROWING THEIR ROPES AT THE ARCOBALENOPOD TOO FAST," cried Draco-Blau as he cleaved through two more ropes with his sword, "WE CANNOT KEEP UP WITH THEM!"
As the Bat-Bird Winged Dragon family continued trying to rescue the Green Arcobalenopod from being mercilessly bound by the rope-armed underlings of Daffodil, Ozai the Blue Basan went round and attacked more of the underlings with his flame breath, his pet Falconfly Hayabusa who he sent flying at his foes, and his fiery nunchucks. When one Yellow Homunculus tried to lash at Ozai with a phaser sword, the Blue Basan sidestepped the attack and countered with a strike of his fiery metal bars held by a chain. Unlike Crimsonandil's flywheel, the metal was not Urulite. Nearby, a pink and green Nestri Primus was struck down by Hayabusa, the giant wasp striking him with his sharp lance-like forelegs and then knocking him off his flying carpet. Close by, Iguana-I-Am threw his flaming whip at another Nestri Primus, a bright red and orange striped one, as he landed on the Green Arcobalenopod to beat her. The Aquatic Mammal-like creature was seized by the fire weapon and yanked off the Green Arcobalenopod. After this, Iguana-I-Am unleashed a jet of fire at the Nestri Primus and scorched him.
"Leave the Arcobalenopod alone," cried the Salamander as he did it, "Your behaviour to it we will NOT condone."
As he had his eyes on the scorched Nestri Primus, another Nestri Primus hovered behind him and prepared a phaser. However, a neon orange pom-pom with legs and antennae appeared with a Mole-Bird on a levitator slab and shot a solar flare-like blast at him, singing him and making him retreat. Iguana-I-Am flashed Beric and his accompanying Spink a thankful nod before the three left for somewhere else on their levitator slabs to confront more of Daffodil's underlings.
Daffodil flew on her magic carpet, her face bearing claw marks from Crimsonandil's savage attack and overlooked the Green Arcobalenopod as she continued to be bound by more and more ropes thrown by her underlings. Draco-Blau and his family continued to try and cleave more and more ropes to free the Arcobalenopod but eventually had to retreat when some Blue Elves lashed at them with their phaser swords and metallic swords. One of Draco-Blau's sons, the eldest, was struck on the hip by a slash of one of the latter. Despite acquiring an injury, he continued following his brothers and parents. Daffodil looked on but then a red-orange feathered form appeared and pounced onto her. Crimsonandil had returned to confront her once again. Then the pair squared off on the magic carpet, their eyes glaring daggers once again.
"You KNOW SOMTHIN', Daffodil," Crimsonandil snarled at the female Water Creature, "Ever since we were young, you're STILL that same CRUEL, BRATTY Leopard Water Dog that REFUSED EVERY SINGLE CHANCE to learn your LESSON and change YOUR STUPID ATTITUDE with EACH episode of DISCIPLINE, no MATTER HOW SEVERE the penalty was. It is clear that you have NOT changed one BIT... an' NOW, SEEIN' YOU go after one of ASLAN'S IMPORTANT SKY DOMAIN GUARDIANS for SUCH an evil Fox who has set up SUCH an EGREGIOUS cult around a FALSE ASLAN, YOU HAVE CROSSED THE LINE of NO RETURN!"
Daffodil slapped Crimsonandil across the face and hurled a glob of saliva immediately after this.
"WE serve the TRUE ASLAN back at ASGARD SKY CITY, DUMB FIRE CARCASS VULTURE!" Daffodil retorted and with that, she slapped Crimsonandil across the face again. Crimsonandil shot the Water Dog a thunderous glare, lashed at her and clamped her beak onto one of Daffodil's Dog-like ears HARD, making her scream in agony. Then Crimsonandil's talons clutching her Urulite flywheel rose and sent the flywheel striking HARD into her stomach. Crimsonandil then released Daffodil's ear and watched her foe almost fall off her magic carpet, the Water Dog then doubling over and clutching her stomach with her arms, a pained look on her face. Then the Vermilion Bird flapped over to the Water Dog, landed onto the magic carpet, seized Daffodil by the ears and yanked her face towards hers.
"Don't you ever... call me... a dumb fire carcass vulture or slap me or spit in my face," Crimsonandil growled in a low, deadly voice.
"Don't you bite me ear or strike me in the stomach with your lousy flywheel," Daffodil retorted, "An' lemme go as well. I have a job to do. Release me ears, or else!"
"Or else WHAT," Crimsonandil snapped, her talon gripping her foe's ears hard.
"Or else, you'll be facin' THIS," Daffodil threatened and with that, she reached her prehensile tail into her satchel, pulled out a small sword and brought its blade to Crimsonandil's throat. Crimsonandil, SEVERELY offended by this deplorable act for her species, the Vermillion Bird, was among the highly noble Talking Beasts alongside the other three Cardinal Beasts, the Black Tortoise, White Tiger and Azure Dragon and it was an UTMOST insult to threaten them this way, threw Daffodil down onto the carpet, seized her right arm and twisted it beyond its range of movement. A MASSIVE shrill of UTMOST agony exploded from Daffodil's mouth as the enraged Vermillion Bird dislocated her shoulder as payment for SUCH an offensive move. To offend a noble Talking Beast such as a Cardinal Beast ALWAYS called for severe punishments like this. Then Crimsonandil flapped into flight and attempted to do more damage by launching her flywheel at Daffodil but the rogue Leopard Water Dog, her left arm clutching her right, flew away on her flying rug and dodged the Urulite flywheel, the blue-grey lump of magical metal attached to orange-red string narrowly missing her head.
"CATCH THAT ARCOBALENOPOD NOOOOW!" screamed the Water Dog to her underlings. Her underlings did so and began to fight back against Crimsonandil and her group while those in charge of capturing the Green Arcobalenopod began to employ the bubble cage bars. However, the Vermillion Bird and company were NOT going to allow this rogue group to snaffle the Arcobalenopod without a VICIOUS fight. Crimsonandil and company regrouped and at Draco-Blau's battle cry, they surged towards Daffodil's group on their levitator rock slabs, Crimsonandil, Draco-Blau and his family flying with their own wings. Ozai also took off from his levitator slab and flew on his own wings as well for Basan could also fly, his pet Falconfly Hayabusa flying after him, awaiting his owner's command to fly and strike the foe. As he did that, he handed his levitator slab to the Meerkats so that they could battle aerially. Daffodil's group did the same and at Daffodil's command, they, too charged at their enemies, battle cries screaming from their mouths. As they did that, Daffodil, her left hand clutching her dislocated right shoulder, commanded the capturers to continue trapping the Green Arcobalenopod in the bubble cage bars and they did.
The Green Arcobalenopod writhed and struggled against the binds and the cage bars as they flew at her, the latter attempting to assemble around her to trap her in a force field cage. The Arcobalenopod, whale-like screeches exploding from her, lashed her tentacles at the ropes and cage bars and unleashed lime green electrical bolts to destroy them and drive away her attempted capturers but the capturers continued their relentless attempt in catching her. One of her tentacle stripes knocked some Blue Elves off their magic carpets while some Nestri Primi were electrocuted by the Arcobalenopod's lime green bolt blasts. Rage was clearly boiling within the creature as she continued to try and shake off the ropes and cage bars. Then the Arcobalenopod tried to fly away but Daffodil and her capture grpup gave chase.
"DON'T LET THAT ARCOBALENOPOD GET AWAY!" cried the Leopard Water Dog, her left arm clutching her dislocated right shoulder. Then some Yellow Homunculi on their magic carpets flew at the Green Arcobalenopod and threw their cage bars at her. The Arcobalenopod tried once again to shake off the incoming bars, slapping them away with her tentacles and screeching. However, the cage bars just kept coming and coming and within moments, they began to assemble around the Arcobalenopod to enclose her in a force field cage. Screeching and howling, the Green Cephalopod creature writhed in a vain attempt to get free but then one of the Yellow Homunculi fired a phaser blast at her and struck her on the head's back, inflicting her with agony and stalling her attempts to shake free of the assembling force field cage bars. This worked and within the next moments, the cage bars had the poor Arcobalenopod surrounded and began to trap her in a force field bubble.
While Daffodil and her capture group continued their assault on the Green Arcobalenopod, the rest of Daffodil's group continued their vicious fight against Crimsonandil's group. The Meerkat group engaged a Nestri Primus in battle while Beric struggled against a Blue Elf, the latter attempting to strike the Sunling with his phaser sword. However, Beric managed to wrestle the phaser sword from the Blue Elf's hands and cut the Elf down with it. Draco-Blau and his family flew in an arrow formation and cut down more rogue Nestri Primi and Blue Elves with their swords while nearby, Ozai scorched more foes with his flame breath and fiery nunchucks while his Falconfly Hayabusa attacked two more foes, a Blue Elf and a Yellow Homunculus, striking them with his lance-like forelimbs, the hunting technique Falconflies applied in killing aerial prey. However, as he did that, a Blue Homunculette struck one of Draco-Blau's sons, the eldest, in the wing with her sword, striking some his primary flight skin-feathers. The near-adult Blue Bat-Bird Winged Dragon released a cry of agony before flying out of control, his flight affected by the injury.
"I'VE BEEN HIT!" cried he. He then spiralled towards Ozai and Hayabusa and also Digger-Quail and his Spink squad and Beric and nearly crashed into them. The group released cries of horror as the blue creature with bat and bird hybrid's wings swooped close to them, Ozai's head mere inches from the injured Bat-Bird Winged Dragon. Hayabusa was also almost struck by the injured Dragon's other wing but the Falconfly dodged in the nick of time. Ozai cried the name of the injured son as did Draco-Blau and both immediately flew down to the descending young Dragon. As they did that, Digger-Quail and his Spink Squad, together with Beric and the Meerkats, continued their vicious attack on Daffodil's cronies. Nearby, Iguana-I-Am, Crimsonandil, Stone the Gnome and Ophiuchus and his two Ramidreju assistants struck down more of Daffodil's cronies when the second one, the Vermillion Bird turned and saw the horrifying sight. Immediately, Crimsonandil broke away from the group and began to give chase while nearby, Iguana-I-Am struck down a Yellow Homunculus armed with a sword with his fire whip, the fiery tendril lashing at the little yellow creature and roasting him and his magic carpet.
Ozai and Draco-Blau continued chasing down the latter's son as he continued to spiral in an uncontrolled flight towards the sky ground below when a red-orange bird rocketed by. Crimsonandil's rage was erupting BIG time now for she had seen the Green Arcobalenopod; injured and now trapped in a bubble cage, get taken away by Daffodil and her some of her cronies, their evil mission a success. as Ozai and Draco-Blau managed to seize the injured son of the latter from crashing into the Sky-ground below, the pair seizing him by the legs and tail in their talons, Draco-Blau looked up and saw a red-orange form fly after Daffodil and her group and their catch, one of the Bluie Homunculettes calling the remaining counter-attackers to retreat. Immediately, he had Ozai take his eldest son to a safe spot and immediately took off after Crimsonandil as she continued to chase down the Green Arcobalenopod and her capturers.
"CRIMSONANDIL!" cried the Blue Bat-Bird Winged Dragon as he pursued her. Draco-Blau's wife and her and her husband's other two sons looked up with the others and to their horror; they also saw the horrific scene. As they did that, their foes began to retreat after their commander and allies.
"THEY'VE CAUGHT THE GREEN ARCOBALENOPOD," cried Ophiuchus. As the lead Ramidreju cried this out, Iguana-I-Am lashed at a Yellow Homunculus and struck him down with his fire whip. Then the Salamander seized the Homunculus and knocked him unconscious. As their foes began to retreat, the others, the Meerkats, Beric, Digger-Quail and his Spink squad, Stone, Ophiuchus and his two Ramidreju helpers began to give chase. Crimsonandil continued her furious pursuit of Daffodil and her capture group, the caged and injured Green Arcobalenopod, the enraged creature sparking in a vain attempt to break out of the force field cage only for the force field to contain her bolts, in their clutches and as she approached them, she readied her Urulite flywheel. However, as the Vermillion Bird got herself into position to launch her flywheel, one of the Nestri Primi, a purple and pink striped one, saw her.
"Daffodil, that Vermillion Bird foe is after us!" she cried, "She's gonna try and rescue our catch."
Immediately, Daffodil commanded some of her cronies to counter Crimsonandil and drive her away. However, Crimsonandil had already launched her Urulite flywheel, the double discs spinning on their red-orange sun-string and becoming engulfed in flames as the Vermillion Bird channelled her fire powers down the string and into her weapon. As the flaming flywheel flew art the group, some of Daffodil's cronies dodged and the flywheel struck the cage containing the Green Arcobalenopod, inflicting a good deal of damage on it. Daffodil saw this and commanded one of the Blue Elves armed with another, more destructive weapon to take action. The Smurf-like creature, an evil grin on his face, reached into his satchel built for carrying dangerous projectile weapons, and pulled out a red sphere. Then he got prepared to throw it at Crimsonandil.
Crimsonandil, her face bearing a look of pure volcanism, retracted her flaming flywheel and launched it again at the cage containing the Green Arcobanelopod. She pursued Daffodil's group with their catch through a solid cloud-valley which was no different from a valley on the Land Domain. Crimsoandil's flywheel, once again engulfed in flames, struck on of the bars projecting the bubble field around the Green Arcobalenopod and damaged it enough to start crippling its ability to project the force field properly. As Crimsonandil withdrew her Urulite flywheel, she heard Daffodil shout, "LAUNCH THE ELECTROSHROOM BOMB, NOOOOOW!"
When Crimsonandil heard this, she looked up and saw a red orb fly from Daffodil and her group straight in her direction, especially as she neared a protrusion of cloud-rock of the valley. Immediately, she stopped in stun but then a blue blur shot in and pounced onto her, moments before a HUGE explosion of lightning bolts erupted from the wall of the cloud-valley. The blast from the Electroshroom explosion then generated a landslide of cloud-rocks which then cascaded down the wall of the valley like an avalanche.
