~Six Months Earlier~
Walking in the halls of this massive building, she never thought her education would lead her here. Bobby noticed her far away look as they arrived to the office are of the conference area.
"Kay. Kay? You good?"
"Yeah, yeah. Just this is nuts. I mean don't they have a marketing team for this".
"Do you wanna leave then?", he asked.
"No no. I'm still in shock".
"You did amazing work with my accounts. Stephanie saw that and wanted to meet with you. Be proud you are getting noticed".
Stephanie walks out to see the duo. She always had a soft spot for Bobby Lashley. He was always hard worker, and just a great guy to work with. Of course, it helped he was a great sneaky link when needed. They understood what their roles were. She was the head of a major empire now, and leaving her marriage was officially out of the question.
"We could make this work. I just can't leave, Bobby. You have to understand that"
"Listen, I'm ready to settle. I know I won't be wrestling for much longer but asking me that is essentially asking me to forget my needs, wants, and dreams. I can't do that".
She looked down and shook her head in agreement.
"Mrs. Levesque? Should we reschedule?"
"No, and please call me Stephanie. I'm not old and stuffy", she grinned and shook Kamaria's hand.
"You two good?"
"Yeah, yeah. Again Bobby, thanks for loaning us your social media manager. We appreciate it".
"No problem. Any way I can help", he answered.
Side stepping the two women, Stephanie got a quick whiff of his scent. It wasn't like Paul. It was clean and demanding. He commanded attention, and she was willing to give all of it. As Bobby moved past her, it got easier. He wasn't ready to jump back out there, but therapy was working. He had a lot going on in making changes, and this ending wasn't exactly a bad thing.
It just hurt like hell.
The two women made their way in the conference room with six other people and her husband. He kind of understood the meaning of social media, as he had an account too. It was in lockdown, and taking to Bobby Lashley, along with younger wrestlers the importance of the change needed.
"It's about time. Is this our guest?"
"Yes, yes. Kamaria Russell. This is our marketing team, along with my husband Paul Levesque.."
"COO of talent relations", she said extending her hand to him.
She sat down as he sat down trying not look at this woman who walked in. His wife was right beside him, but she had the scent of being seen. Not in the way of an internet superstar. In the way she had something great to add to you conversation. That she gave you something to think about. She was different than the women he was always attracted to, and this was scary for so many reasons.
"Paul?"
"Yeah?"
"Kamaria asked you a question".
"I'm sorry, my presentations can be boring, it's all good".
"No, what did you say?"
"Do you feel comfortable posting outside the business?"
"Like my kids? No."
"No, about you. Your fans like to identify with you. That includes outside interest. You as the human. Not the boss, wrestler. Just you. That's where my expertise comes in. It's all planned but genuine. It's connecting and networking".
As she kept explaining the presentation, he just wanted to know more about her.
"Thanks for your time. Does anyone have questions? Comments? Need a translation?", she joked.
"Why do we need to caterer to fans this way? I feel like we have this on lock and don't need to change how we market to these fans"
"Good question. You may be the top of the wrestling game, but on social media, you guys have a lot to catch up on. I'll send over my research, which includes AEW and New Japan. Twitter is great. Other platforms, including snapchat. Not so much…"
"Let's revisit this in a month or two after the training sessions and discuss it then. Thanks everyone", Stephanie said.
People are leaving as Kamaria was packing up. Paul approached her while Stephanie was walking out.
"Are you busy right now? It's lunch time for me, and I wanted to discuss more on this campaign".
"Sure, I am free the rest of the day, would Stephanie be joining us?"
"No no. I have another meeting but let me reach out because I want to talk to you as well. Thank you so much for coming in, and this partnership is going to be fantastic".
She walked off, and it left Paul and Kamaria. It was awkward and Kamaria hated awkward silence.
"So tell me why you wanted to meet alone. Everything I tell you can be read in an email. Being noisy?", she chuckled.
"Not really. I'm truly trying to understand why this is so important".
"Well, how long is your lunch break?"
"I'm the damn boss. I can stay out as long as I want", he smirked.
"But…..that's also lost time on anything you have due to your boss", she matched.
Walking out, it was the first of many lunches before things got complicated….
