The code of Kaz Kalinkas was a prisoner of Lord Van Bloot for a while now. The boy looked at his prison, which began to feel a bit familiar. He still quietly cursed himself for telling a few things about his world to Atrapol.

He was really worried for his friend H'earring. It was good news that his friend was better. It was also good that he ate a few things and wasn't torture for anything. It was clear they wanted him.

"Did I play their game when I told them this?" the boy wondered. He knew they were interested in the 'Cothica'. The Earth wasn't such an interesting place. He put his hands over his face and grumbled, "I really need to leave soon," he glanced at the wall behind him. There was no secret passages or things like that. He clenched his hands. He could only pray that his friends might find him.

He also had a weird feeling today. Somehow, he could feel tension rising inside of his jail. He had no idea why, but it was present. It felt like the place anticipated something. He put his hand on his forehead. He guessed that his many adventures in Perim made him feel like this from time to time. He just knew trouble was ahead. Still, he already was. A prisoner of Lord Van Bloot was big trouble. He crossed his arms and waited. Something definitely was about to happen.

He heard someone coming to his jail and it cut his inner thought short.

Chapter 20: The Rescue Part 1

Atrapol came in front of the jail and watched the boy, "My Lord wished to see you soon. You should get ready. He had more to tell you."

"Is it about Chaor?" he asked. The boy thought came back to what Van Bloot told him. Still, it was so long ago and the creature shouldn't focus on his revenge. The teenager put his hand on the wall. He faced the creature, "Because I have a feeling it will be about this."

The large creature quietly chuckled as he crossed his arms. He went on, "Obviously. You need to know what happened to my Lord in the past. There is much more that you don't know about them."

"Yeah," Kaz admitted. Still, he wished to hear the side of his hero when he could. Because he knew for certain that Van Bloot was biased in the matter. He noticed the creature had a bit of apprehension on his face, "Something's going on?"

"No," the creature bluntly replied as he turned around.

The boy noticed for a second a bit of worry in the eyes of the Underworlder. He made no comment as the creature left him on his own for a while.

Tom and Sarah observed the abandoned building. They were many Underworlders present, observing discreetly from afar. Takinom was among them.

She was a red creature with large scarlet wings, long black hair, silver horns on her head and brown markings on her arms and legs. She wore a silver breastplate with silver bracelets around her wrist, "This is where you found H'earring?" the creature asked the human who was friend with the rival of Chaor.

"Yes. I heard H'earring talking with another creature. He said that Kaz said a few things to be sure he was okay. Like some sort of deal," Tom replied.

"And don't you dare think he's lying," Sarah grunted at the creature.

Takinom frowned, "If I suspected such things, I wouldn't bring troops with me. Chaor is on his way, but it will take some times. You will stay out of our way during the mission. Because we will not hesitate to attack you if you are in the way."

"We won't," Tom replied as he put a hand on his girlfriend shoulder. He had a feeling she might protest.

The girl in question huffed and turned her head to the side, proving the hunch of the boy was correct.

Takinom stood high and raised hands, "Attack!"

The troops charged forward.

Tom and Sarah watched this. It felt like Takinom exaggerated with how many she picked, but they couldn't underestimate their enemies.

Lord Van Bloot prepared to meet with the boy. He had a lot to tell him. He hoped that Kaz would change size and joined him, as the Underworlder guide to the Cothica. He put his hands together as a small smile appeared on his face.

Suddenly, one of his guards came, "They have found us! Takinom is leading an army at us!"

The green harpy gasped, "How?" he quickly recovered, "Tell Atrapol to bring Kaz with him. We are leaving to another safer location!" he noticed the next question, "Let them get their H'earring! We need the guide not him!" he stood up and went to the front line and slowed down the army.

A smirk appeared on his face. His mere presence would buy some time. He walked outside of their hideout and spread his wings. He chuckled when he heard Takinom ordered, "Stop!"

The flying creature landed on the ground and furiously glared at him, "So it was you who took Kaz. I thought you were dead."

"You think you can kill me? I will not die until I reclaim the Underworld," Lord Van Bloot clenched his hands as he prepared for the fight. He just needed to buy time and escaped once they were away. Still, he noticed that she didn't underestimate him. She brought too many creatures against him compared to his guards stationed here, "And it won't be long with the Cothica."

"It will never happen," the female Underworlder replied as she quickly ascended in the air.

The harpy followed suit as he charged at her in the air. He dodged the fireballs coming at him. He accelerated closer to her and tried a flashkick, but she dropped lower.

The battle rage for a few minutes as the two hit each other's with their best attack.

The harpy was covered with many bruises and burn marks on his body as he endured many of her attacks.

Takinom was on the same shape. She put her hand on her shoulder as she bled a lot from the fangs of Van Bloot.

He took a quick glance down and saw many soldiers of Takinom and who went inside the building. He cursed himself as he lacked the raw power to stop them. He hoped they had enough time to retreat.

Kaz heard the explosions. He had the feeling there was an intense battle outside.

Atrapol quickly came in. He opened the cage and grabbed the human by the wrist, "You are coming with me, right now!"

The teenager noticed the creature looked nervous and a bit in a panic. He saw how quickly the Underworlder glanced around and guessed what was going on, "Chaor is here."

"And he's not going to get you," he pulled the boy and they quickly climbed down the stairs.

"L-Let me go!" Kaz tried to resist a creature who was much stronger than him.

"Not going to happen. Now stop resisting. They will get H'earring back, but not you. I won't fail my lord," he thought the boy was too slow. He grabbed him and put him on his shoulders. He frowned as he heard the explosions coming closer, "I wasted enough time already."

"Where's Lord Van Bloot?" the boy asked. He was sure the creature was gone.

"Fighting them," he replied quickly as he finished climbing down the stairs and searched for the exit door. He needed to reach the emergency exit quickly.

"They are coming in!" one of the soldiers said.

Atrapol cursed himself as the soldiers of Chaor already reached the entrance.

"There he is!" a voice of an Underworlder loyal to Chaor declared.

The large creature accelerated his pacing. He grunted when his head hit the top of the door, but ignored the sound echoing in his helmet.

Kaz couldn't see who Atrapol ran away from. He just held on and hoped that everything will be okay in the end.

Atrapol charged forward. He found that the exit was opened and rushed through it. He slowed down when he noticed outside more creatures loyal to Chaor. He quickly realised they were surrounded. He decided to take another exit. He let the creatures saw that he held Kaz, before he turned around. He searched for the stairs as he rushed through the corridor.

The teenager was uncertain what the plan of the creature was, but it was obvious that he improvised. He heard creatures that ordered to chase after Atrapol to crush or arrest him. He had no idea what their priority would be. Him or the destruction of the creature. He heard the sounds of more explosions. Dust felt from the ceiling, "Do you even have a way to escape?"

"We may lack the numbers, but we will overcome Chaor!" the creature replied. He saw a door closed. He just charged through it and kept going forward.

Kaz watched the remaining of the door. If he was on Earth, his home would be down pretty quickly.

The creature never stopped as the chaos continued behind him. Atrapol was ready to do anything to succeed in his mission. He wouldn't let his lord down.

He stopped when a creature stood in his way. The large creature knew that the others were behind him. He frowned as he grunted, "You're here."

Kaz looked at the creature who stood in their way, "You," he grunted in relief.

It was Rothar who stood in the way of the creature with his axe. He was a minotaur-like creature with orange fur, long blue hair, a blue tail, green eyes and a pair of silver horn on his forehead. He wore a silver breastplate and green shorts.

"It's over. You cannot get away with Kaz," he pointed his axe at the creature.

Atrapol couldn't drop the boy. It was obvious that the human would escape the moment he could. He held the boy and charged his hand with fire, "I will."

The minotaur chuckled as he also did the same. His hand covered with flame, "You are surrounded anyway. If you want to lose that badly, do it like a true Underworlder."

The creature loyal to his lord attacked.

Lord Van Bloot flew a bit away from Takinom as he planned his next strategy. The battle wasn't going in his favor. Less than he hoped for. He noticed that their base of operation was surrounded. Still, he had his get away plan and the others also had the same. He was well aware of the risk when they hid in the city. He knew his soldiers would use their battlegear as a last resort. They didn't use it now, as just running away would be cowardly. He already had his ego hurt too many times to just let this situation repeat himself. He would fight until he couldn't and then escape.

He chuckled, "Looks like you really plan ahead Takinom," he blocked a blow on his face and dodged another one.

"I have no intention of underestimating my enemies," she simply replied.

The two charged as the battle went on, on the ground and in the air.

Chaor rushed as quickly as he could. The moment he heard that the location where Kaz might be was given, he rushed ahead. He cursed himself for not thinking that they might be hidden in Underworld City. They were right under his nose from the very beginning. It enraged him to know that he failed Kazzy in some way.

The ruler of the Underworld received a report about who kidnapped his boy. His blue eyes shined brighter than before.

His muscles tensed as he already imagined what he would do to the wings of Van Bloot once he got his hand on him. Even worse if his Kazzy was hurt in any ways.

The good news was that they could rescue him quickly as it wasn't from those creatures made of metal. He was halfway already and approached his destination.

"You better pray that Takinom saved Kazzy before I am here Van Bloot," he declared.
