Katara

The day after the victory celebrations, we pack up and get ready to go to Omashu so Aang can learn Earth Bending from King Bumi. Sokka's nowhere to be seen, and normally I'd give him crap about not helping, but I know he's spending every second he can with his new Fiancé. And I'm so happy for him and Yue, I'm more than okay with doing the packing and loading myself.

I notice that I'm not the only one packing up though, and when I go over to talk to Paku I find out that many of the benders, both men and women, are taking a journey themselves. I flush with Pride and gratitude as Paku tells me he and others are headed South to help rebuild my home, then names me a Waterbending Master.

I don't know what's in store for us next. I just hope it's going to be better than our journey here. If Zuko drowned alongside most of the Fire Nation Fleet, it certainly will be easier and faster. But my stomach wants to heave at the thought of him or Iroh being hurt, even after everything that happened here during the siege. I have to keep those thoughts to myself, though. Sokka was ready to let Zuko freeze to death in the ice and snow. He wouldn't understand the confused feelings I have for him, especially since he found someone perfect for him here in the Northern Water Tribe. I Steel my nerves to make myself hope Zuko's dead. The Fire Nation loses an heir, we lose a hunter, and I can stop having traitor emotions. Only time will tell. Because one thing's for sure, if he did survive, we'll see him again. He'll never give up. I shake the thoughts out of my head and focus on packing provisions for our trip to the Earth Kingdom.
