Antonia opened the car, stepping out into the sidewalk. "Thanks Joseph. I owe you one." She was at Williams house, read to see what would happen. Her mother would have been very upset if she really knew where the goth was going. So Antonia decided to lie and said that her and Nicole were going to the movies. She was anxious going up to the front door, hearing all the chatter of the teenagers inside.
KNOCK KNOCK
She heard a couple people quiet down and saw that Elizabeth peered through the window. She her soft giggles as the door opened. "HELLO BEAUTIFUL!" Angelita pushed past the girl and hugged Antonia squeezing the breathe out of her. "Hi Angel." There was quite a lot of people in the house and they all recognize Antonia as being at the "rich girl" who was dating Samuel. William had came up to her and gave her a quick side hug, "How ya doin doll face." She smiled at him, "Im doing well, how about yourself Billy." There was a spread of junk food on the dinning table. Antonia was then given the tour of his place, accompanied by Angelita. Her jaw dropped when the small living room floor was cover with mattresses and blankets. "What have you never had a sleep over before?" Angelita questioned and Antonia chucked, "Yeah but this is just a lot." As soon as they reached the end of the hallway, Samuel had opened the door the room that smelled like cigarettes. He looked up from his phone and waved it, "I just got your message darling." "Hi Sam." He wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulling her close. He Jonathan came of out the room taking the cigarette from his hand. He said a brief hello before entering the kitchen.
"What is she doing here? Is Sam being serious? Ugh... and when did you come back?" Mikron glanced at Jade who was sitting outside eating a bowl of ice cream. Baran and Selinda looked over, seeing Antonia. "Wow. I wonder how that's going to last," Selinda commented rudely. Jada smirked at her comment. "Hey, stinky. I asked you a question. You like disappeared again out of nowhere." Mikron asked the girl trying to get answers. Jade rolled her eyes and sighed, "Oh, you always want to be in my business." Seymour and Baran gave each other glances, they both were sick of Jade and her games. "I have my own issues," she looked to the side. She never wanted people to know how she really felt. It was a joke to open up to people. They always took advantage of your vulnerability. "It's nothing you would understand." Selinda started laughing at the girl, "You say that stupid shit that they would in those action movies." She pointed her finger up and sat up straight. "Nobody understands me. My life is so bad, and everyone is having it easy… NEW FUCKING FLASH! No one cares, Jade. Everyone has something going on. Not everything is about you! We all know you pretend to be hard and it's so annoying at this point. You need to-" "I'm going to fucking kill you." Selinda was thrown off by what she said, and Jade charged at her. She attacked Selinda, knocking her over in the lawn chair. She grabbed a fist full of her hair and threw blows at her face.
Inside the teens began separating the contents of their food. They had order Chinese food and began chowing down. Antonia grabbed a paper plate filling it with the contents she desired. They began setting up the pillow and blankets to watch the movie. William held up a small machine and the teens went wild. "We, my amigos, are doing it old school because… its what my parents have. HA!" He cackled as he set up the VHS player. Antonia sat next to Samuel, he smiled at her, getting a pillow for the girl. She couldn't stop thinking about what had happened yesterday. The way he and his friends did something horrible to that boy named Josiah. Was Samuel lying about what happened at the gas station? She took a deep breath as she sat next to him.
A few of the girls looked at Antonia closely judging her every move, especially Marie. She was filled with jealously as Samuel attended Antonia. She watched him hand her napkins, cover her legs with the blanket, kiss her on the cheek. All of it. Elizabeth noticed her friend and tapped on her arm, "Stop staring. You look like a freak." She snarled at the girl and sat facing the TV. Dominic got up to get another cookie when he noticed something happening through the back door patio window. He approached to open the screen as Jade walked in. Her face was red and her dress looked like a mess. She grabbed Angelita by the arm and pulled her into the garage. A beat up Selinda entered the living room and went straight to the bathroom. Antonia noticed this, turning to Samuel with a confused expression. He parted his lips so say something thing shook his head. "Okay… I think we should pretend we didn't see that. Not till later." The couple continued eating their food. "Finally!" William had put on A Nightmare on Elm Street for the night. Everyone was silent as it began, completely focused on the movie. A couple of the other guys laughed at the first murder scene noting that the couple in the movie were just intimate. The teens made fun of the terrible CGI the film displayed, yet it was what they could use back then. Anytime Johnny Depp was on screen the girl's fawned over his looks, even Antonia.
Selinda and Baran quietly chatted in the hallway as the movie play. Antonia and Samuel were right around the corner and could make out some of the conversation. "Does it look bad?" Selinda put her hand on Seymour's shoulder, and he touched her face. "Its not visible anymore since you put makeup it." He then smacked his lips, "I don't know why Jade is like this." Mikron scoffed, "Who cares about the snot licker. She's a complete lunatic. Where did she run off to anyway?" Baran huffed as he was very upset Jade put her hands on her. "When I see her, it's over." Dominic looked out to the living room and glanced at his phone. "Jade is coming back inside." He took Selinda by the hand and had her sit next to Johnathan on the mattress. He looked at her worried as she had a upset expression. "What happened to you?" He whispered as he sat up. Dominic hushed him and he walked over to the garage. The rest sat down by where everyone else was.
When the movie was done everyone got their second serving of food and snacks. Samuel got up to grab him and Antonia chips. She saw Angelita sitting next to some of the girls explaining what happened outside. Antonia slowly approached them and some of them gave her a forced smile. "What happened?" Angelita sighed, "Jade and Selinda got in a fight." Antonia raised her eyebrows. "Is that what happened?" She nodded and a girl named Katherine then smiled. "Hey are you and Sam like actually dating. Or are you guys just messing around?" Antonia began laughing nervously but nodded. "Ermm he's actually my boyfriend." Marie cocked her head to the side, "Oh really? For how long?" "Ermm like barely a week or so…" They all laughed and Angelita shrugged her shoulder. "I mean you have been talking to him since last semester so I don't think that really matters." "So like you guys are serious?" Angelita was irritated with Marie as she kept trying to keep the topic going. "Yes… W-" "Okay I was just trying to see because we hooked up a while ago." The group was quite and Antonia's face went white. The other girls gasped and she felt sick to her stomach. Katherine looked at her confused, "What?" "Yeah we did. It was kinda under the radar." She began to look around to see people's reaction to see if they heard her. Angelita was now mad at Marie and felt as if she was trying to wedge between the two. "Okay you wanted to do it and it was like back at the beginning of the school year. Don't bring that up now." Marie sat quietly, glaring at Angelita as she shut down the act. Antonia felt really uncomfortable as that was added to the list of worries that were building up. Billy decided they were going to have a marathon and put in the second movie to the franchise.
Everyone was either back on the mattresses or outside having a break. Angelita pulled Selinda, Jade, Seymour, and Dominic into William's room. Baran of course, followed to see what would happen. "What the fuck is going on. I cannot have this shit fall apart right now." Angelita was now furious with everything that was happening at the moment. She was sick of the drama that was starting. Jade walked toward the door and Dominic blocked her. "What?" She turned to face the others, "The fight already happened. I don't need anyone else telling me shit." Seymour took a quick glance at everyone in room then started. "Jade you're acting weird. Weirder than usual. I know you want your business to yourself, but you can tell us what is going on. Everyone knows something isn't right with you." The girl laughed sarcastically, crossing her arms. She waited there to see what else the teens would say. It was an awkward pause until Seymour began, "Well?... Aren't you going to tell us." She turned around because she wanted to avoid talking about her issues. Dominic brought his hand out to block her again and she slapped it away. "Jade!" Angelita shouted at her and the girl fought against her boyfriend. Dominic kept pushing her back not wanting to hurt the girl. He had done his best not to provoke the girl to get too physical. "Stop that!" Jade's voice cracked. It was rare to hear a solemn tone for her. She stopped, giving Dominic a disappointed expression. Angelita walked in front of her, grabbing her shoulders leaning eye level. "We are not trying to force you to tell us every little detail. We just want to make sure you are okay."
Samuel softly played with Antonia's hair as the movie went on. He honestly enjoyed it when girls cuddled against him. He never liked to admit that he was quite affectionate when it came to relationships. It was just something he expressed at that moment. Antonia had wrapped her arms around him, resting cheek to cheek. They didn't move for a while, and just listened to the sounds of the film and conversations from the others. He cradled the girl until she fell asleep briefly, everyone's eyes shriveled when Mikron turned the lights on. "Bye losers!" The small boy walked out the front door without turning them back off.
"Sam," William called out to the punk, "I need you to come here for a sec." At first he ignored him, wanting to continue cuddling with the goth. William waved his arms around trying to get him to get up from the floor. The southerner had a smug expression on his face which caught his attention. Antonia rubbed her eyes as Samuel gently let go of her. "I'll be back," he threw his hands up upset that he left his girlfriend but William giggled. He wrapped his hand around his friend and whispered.
Antonia fell back asleep for a little bit until she heard her phone go off.
Mama: Hello
Mama: How are you love?
Mama: Is the movie over?
She jolted up, seeing that it was now close to midnight. "Crap," she stood up seeing that most of the people had separated their ways. She wondered how long it had really been since the party had died down. She grabbed her bag and headed out the front door. Samuel opened the door, eye squinted, dry mouthed, with a crooked grin. Antonia froze, "Oi, my mum is needing me to go back. Can you hitch me a ride?" She looked at him closely and then poked his chest, "What's the matter with ya," he chuckled at her touch. "I was actually coming to get you. I can get Billy to take you." He took her gently by the hand and guided her to the car. She intended to say goodbye to Angelita but she and Dominic were making out on the lawn. "Hey doll, you goin' home?" William calmly asked. Although he was providing his guest with special amenities, he was waiting for his turn when only a few people were left. "Can you take her home?" Samuel asked, William entered his car and started it. Antonia looked at Samuel, watching his grin fade away as they made eye contact. "Did you have a good nap?" She laughed and nodded, "Yeah I was pretty comfortable." "I walked in to use the restroom and heard you snoring pretty loud." She gasped, "I was? And you left like that?" She lightly slapped his arm, they both giggled. He hugged her tightly, Antonia held on to him. He smelled like all kinds of things, and he opened his mouth it was another story. "I really like you Toni." "And I really like peppermint." He narrowed his eye as she laughed at him. He didn't like that she was trying to deflect the situation. Samuel was done with her silliness and went in for a kiss. He cupped her face, really trying to focus on her. The girl intended on fighting him off. He tasted like alcohol, which was very pleasant to experience. She put her hands on his waist which made him loosen his grasp. Samuel was once again playing with her hair and laughed softly from satisfaction.
William cleared his throat to get their attention. He was leaning on his palm on top of the car. "Y'all done or what?" The two pulled away, leaving Antonia embarrassed as she got carried away. Samuel, however, was totally giddy. He opened the passenger door for the girl and buckled her in. He gave her one last kiss goodbye before they drove off.
William was reminded of where he needed to go to arrive at her house. He was completely sober so there was no issue with communicating. Now that she was alone with him, she was reminded of the fight. "William?" She glanced at him, "Yes ma'am?" She was now able to pry information out of him, "Did you know the guy Samuel fought? Like… Did you see it go down?" He remained calm as he thought of a response, "I saw it happen. He brought other guy's to beat him up." "Okay… I know Sam said that you guys scared them off. But did you also fight anyone? Or Seymour?" William was now worried. The had agreed not to talk about what they did to Josiah. All they did was beat him up, it wasn't like they assaulted him or did anything too terrible. "What all did he say? I-I mean like he told you that guy had friends with him right? With like the bat." She nodded still looking a bit nervous. "Then yeah… I mean that's all what happened. We just had to tell em' to beat it because it could've been worse." "Okay. That's pretty much the same thing he told me." She leaned her head against the window. She hoped that really was all that happened but knew it wasn't.
