Peyton rested in his room. He was a bit tired after the training and the king was busy for a few days. Steel just said that it was a surprise. This part worried him. Kidnapping him was a surprise. He knew it wouldn't be something like that.
He stood up and looked through the window of his room. He could see the city that surrounded the castle, but not that well. He was a bit high and the Metalist looked like small dots on the ground. He could see a few vehicles that drove around. There were much less vehicles than the Earth. It looked more like Perim in general.
"Guess they have less stuff to make anything," he concluded. He watched the sky. He rested chin on the back of his hands.
He heard someone coming quickly. The boy guessed it was his friend Steel. He was the only one who came that loudly.
The door opened and it was indeed the Metalist Steel, "Peyton. Come quickly. Titanium surprise is here. Not sure how much you will like it, but you need to see it."
Peyton sighed and nodded, "Okay. Let's go," he followed the creature to the throne room.
The Metalist looked excited to show something. He glanced at the human as they reached the door that led to the throne room, "Hope you will feel better," he opened the door.
Peyton saw his parents in front of him, near the Metalist who let his red cloak rested on his back. He raised his arms, "And here is your child."
The three humans were quiet for a few seconds.
The portly boy sobbed, "Mom… Dad…" he rushed and hugged them. He didn't notice the other Metalists who were around in the throne room.
Chapter 34: Reunion
Titanium watched the happy reunion between the three members of the family and guessed he did good. He nodded to himself with a small smile. He crossed his arms. He waited for them to end their happy reunion and surely a lot of talking.
Steel put his hands together and had a large smile, "Reunited with your parents."
After a minute, the room suddenly turn cold. The two creatures and the two male humans were a bit nervous as they took a step back from the woman.
Lucas gulped quietly, "Your mother is in a bad mood Peyton."
"Y-yeah."
Judy turned towards the king of the Metalist. She asked, "Where you the one who kidnapped my son?"
Titanium raised his head a little bit and observed the humans and Steel. He had no idea how to respond. He could feel the fury from the woman. He raised his hand, "I won't lie to you. Yes, I did bring him here. I know it can be called-" he couldn't finish his sentence before he was sucker punch in the gut by the woman. He felt that blow and dropped on his knees. He coughed a few times as he tried to catch his breath.
Peyton just couldn't believe his mother didn't break her hand and the metal of the creature just bend like it was normal flesh. His thought changed when he remembered his mother just punched the king of the Metalist.
The king panted and painfully grumbled as he tried to recover from the blow. He felt a bit sick as his inward screamed in agony. He saw his guards approaching the woman with their battlegears out.
Judy noticed them and paled a little, regretting following her emotions.
Titanium raised his hands and ordered, "Don't!" he coughed a few times as he stood up, "Don't…" he took a deep breath. He took a few more before he could continue, "I brought Peyton here. She is his mother. She has all the right to be angry. Just… Didn't see that one coming," he coughed another time as he stood up. His legs were a bit shaky, "And she hit hard."
Peyton forgot his mom could be that strong when in a really bad mood.
The woman cleaned her hands, "Do not kidnap my boy again. Or anyone else," she pointed at the guards.
None of the Metalists wanted to feel her wrath. Since they couldn't attack, they took three steps back and remained stationary. They observed the evolution of the situation.
Steel came and made sure his king remained on his feet, "You sure are successful with the ladies my king. Another one sucker punch you!" he chuckled.
Titanium frowned for a few seconds, before glaring at his soldier, "Enough. Let's move on," he tried to act as if this never happened, but a mark remained on his belly, "As I tried to say, I know it can be called kidnapping, but it is more complicated than that. We will have all the time to explain everything, but you should spend a lot of time with your child first," he raised his finger, "And far away from me Peyton's mother," he made a small movement with his hand. It asked her to move away from him.
The son and his parents left the throne room. Steel decided to follow them and made sure everything was fine. He now had three humans to watch over, for now.
Once they were gone, the king coughed once more.
"My king. Are you okay?"
"Yes… I'm ashamed to admit, but that punch was hard. Still painful," he covered his body with his cape as he would usually do. He stood up, "Nevertheless, Peyton is in a better mood. I'll keep my distance from her," he told his guards as he returned to his throne room. He had duties to resume already.
The boy was in his room with his parents. The two were checking and made sure everything was okay with their boy.
"Are you okay? Did they hurt you?" Judy asked many more questions. Those were lost for the teenager.
"No mom," Peyton managed to reply in the second he could say something.
Lucas remained quiet, but was obviously relieved. He couldn't speak until his wife was done with checking their boy and asked questions without getting an answer. He glanced at the large guard who apparently was called Steel, "Did you hurt him?"
"Me? Nonono. I am his body guard. I'm here to make sure no one can hurt Peyton. There is," he scratched the back of his head, "A lot of explaining to do. Maybe once she is ready to listen and you told your boy your own questions," he backed away near the entrance and waited.
The man nodded and waited. It took a few more minutes before Judy finished talking to her son.
The woman sat by his side and hugged him once again. She sobbed, "It's so good to see you again."
Lucas saw his chance and sat at the other side of his son. He put a hand on his shoulders, "Peyton. We were worried sick for you. We had no hope to find you or any way to help you. I… I didn't work since you disappeared. Couldn't drive," he sobbed. He glanced at the side and then at the creature, "I'm relieved you are safe and sound. So happy to be with you."
"I'm happy too. Mom. Dad!" Peyton cracked and cried like a young child. He didn't go through a lot, but he missed them terribly. Deep in his mind, buried so deep that he never thought about it, he thought he might never see them again.
A few more minutes passed before they took control of their emotions.
Steel cleaned a tear that came down from his face and waited. He expected the parents to attack him with their wrath. If it came to that. He wished he could explain everything and why they did it before the beating.
The parents still hugged their son when they finally looked at the Metalist.
Lucas decided to take the lead. He stopped hugging his boy. He stood up and approached the creature. He asked, "And who are you? We didn't ask your name."
"I am Steel. I am a soldier of king Titanium. I am also Peyton's body guard, just in case trouble might come for him," he raised his hand before he could speak, "I will explain it. Peyton knows why too. I also don't mind you didn't ask my name before, you had more important issues with your son," he waited for the next question.
"Why did you take our boy?" Judy asked. She tried to control her emotions, but there was a lot of venom in her voice and untold fury.
Steel scratched his back nervously, he couldn't back away as his back hit the wall. He wasn't the one who took Peyton, "My king took him for an important purpose. He had four choices and picked your son over Tom, Sarah or Kaz. He liked him the most from our observations," he admitted.
"He spied on us and we never noticed them," Peyton didn't need to think about how it happened. He never saw the creatures before.
"I am a terrible spy; it was others who did that. Anyway, there is a lot of stories, but our king chosen your son and 'kidnapped' him. I think he will learn his lesson with that punch of yours miss," he nodded at her as he covered his own gut when she looked into his eyes.
"Mom," the boy tried to avoid another punch or a fight from occurring.
"Fine," she relented from releasing her wrath.
"Why did you need him or any of his friends?" his father asked curiously. He knew there was a reason, real or not.
"He is a guide to the Cothica. Your world," he began to explain.
Peyton remembered the stories the king told him. He still couldn't really believe that their origin was from the Earth. He still could only see them as strange creatures of Perim. Like sentient robots who eat like normal humans or creatures. It would be the weirder stuff that might exist in Perim. He realised he missed a bit of the recap of why they kidnapped him.
"And we wish to return home. Of course, some of our species still despise the humans and Peyton's live could be in danger. We make sure they know nothing of Peyton and this is why he remains in the castle. He can't go outside until we scout them out and get rid of any threats," Steel concluded as he crossed his arms, "I know it's hard to believe, but this is why we need his help. As a guide, he is the only one who could help us return home, where we truly belong."
"And why do you believe that?" Lucas asked.
"We have records of our existence on Earth and our powers are the opposite side of the coin," he raised his hand and summoned the power of darkness. It made the two parents nervous, "And you humans are our opposite in many ways. You have the power of light and you are of flesh and blood, while we are of metal and oil," he let his power dissipated, "And when we return home. We don't want a repeat of our ancestor's mistake."
Peyton wasn't sure if it was real or not. It kinda felt like bad guys trying to look like good guys. He made no comment about the matter.
"Yeah," his father didn't believe his words, "There is nothing about creatures made of metal on Earth."
"History can be erased you know," Steel countered.
"Peyton. Has Steel treated you well?" Judy asked as she observed the creature.
"Yeah. He's nice and he's a friend," the boy didn't specify anything about the weirder aspect of the creature. He didn't know what they were, but Titanium said they were a few things.
"Good. I'm still really mad at this king of kidnapping my son!" she warned the creature.
"As any mother should… Even that reckless punch of course. You really took the wind out of him," Steel nervously chuckled. He walked towards the door, "Anyway, I'll leave you three alone. There is surely a room that needs to be prep for you," he left and as he closed the door, he grumbled to himself, "That lady is tough."
Once he was gone, the family continued to talk with each other's for a while as the day passed.
AC: This is the end of this chapter.
Next: The Situation.
A week passed by and Tom decided to explain to Maxxor what would happen soon. Not wanting to leave the creature in the dark.
