Both Kaz and Sarah were a bit nervous. They were both ready to talk with the ruler of their favourite tribe. They had no idea what would happen once they finished talking with them.

Kaz wondered how angry Chaor would be. He knew that his hero might not take those questions well. He pushed them aside for a long time and it was time to get some answers.

Sarah wondered who would be the Danian who would protect her. She wished it might be Wamma, but she had a feeling that it might not be the case. She knew him very well and they surely knew him very well too.

Chapter 41: Discussions

Kaz used a secret passage to enter in the castle as usual. He wasn't invited and had to take another path. He was used to it and knew how to reach the throne room without being detected. After a few close calls in the past, he was talented at it.

He could enter in the castle by the front door, but it gave a bit more time to think about what to tell the ruler. He reached a dead end. He put his head on the wall and listened at the other side. He heard nothing. He knew there was nothing to interrupt Chaor. He opened the last secret door and appeared behind the throne. That secret door wasn't a quiet one.

The ruler of the Underworld turned around, ready to incinerate whoever the intruder was with Agitos and Intress by his side. He stopped when he recognised the guide, "Kazzy."

Agitos asked, "Why didn't you use the front door? You can enter that way," he crossed his arms and grumbled, "Unbelievable."

"Sorry," he didn't explain why. He waited for them to be open for discussion.

Chaor quickly noticed something on the face of the boy, "What's going on Kazzy? Did those Metalist tried to kidnap you?" Anger raised in his voice at the possibility.

"Nonono!" he quickly said when he noticed his hero went to the wrong conclusion. He waved his hands until the fury seemed to calm down for now.

"Then what is it?" the red creature growled, "If it's nothing, then you should leave."

"Why?" the boy was curious.

"We reported strange movement from the M'arrillians who went to the Overworld," Agitos replied.

Kaz kept a poker face and didn't show that he knew what was going on. That would spell trouble for his friends. He didn't want to make Chaor focusing on something he shouldn't right now, "What I want to talk about… Well...It's something important, but with everything going on with Peyton, I kinda forgot about it. It came back to me and I need to know a few things," he played with his fingers a bit nervously. He reached the riskier part of the conversation.

"About what?" Agitos asked when the boy was quiet for a bit too long.

The teenager played with his fingers a little bit, before he looked in the face of the ruler of the Underworld, "It's about Lord Van Bloot. When I was captured, he told me a few things. I need to know how much of this is a lie, because I know it's not all lies," he began.

It suddenly felt a bit cold when he spoke those words. It wasn't hot fury that radiated from Chaor, but a cold one. It felt a bit worse. The face of the creature was calm, but it felt like anything could be cut by a simple glare from the creature.

Agitos and Takinom wisely took a few steps on the side and let their ruler handle the conversation without interruption.

The ruler slowly said, "What did he talk about Kazzy?"

Kaz grasped all of his courage to speak. He couldn't back down now and it will distract his hero for a while, "What I know for sure is that your ancestors came from the Overworld. He was Kiru."

The two advisors glanced at each other's. They already know how much dangerous this conversation was. They knew their king wouldn't crush at them.

Chaor squinted his eyes as the boy hit right on it, "What makes you think this is even the true?"

"I met Kiru and he looked like you," the boy replied.

The red creature nodded, "Yes. It is something that is so long ago, it doesn't matter anymore. I only have blood of underworlders in my vein."

The human couldn't disagree, "I know. Van Bloot said that your ancestors took everything that belonged to his family. They were the rulers of the Underworld before Kiru."

"His ancestor wasn't as strong as Kiru. Just like Van Bloot isn't as strong as me. He is bringing the division of the Underworld and he was too weak to resist the mind control of the M'arrillians. I did resist them. My mind was strong and his was weak," he seemed to change the subject.

Kaz took a deep breath and nodded, "Yeah," he then went to another question, "Is Van Bloot just a trophy for you. Is that why you let him live for a long time?" he met the blue eyes of Chaor and couldn't say anything else. The glare was cold and sharp. Sharper than a knife. He felt a bit in danger. He looked away.

"Forget what Van Bloot told you. Maybe some of his words are true, but he only speaks half true. It is easier to manipulate you or others with such words. Kazzy…" he couldn't say anything else. They weren't alone.

For a second, the teenager saw the softness and kindness he showed before. When he was safe and he hugged him. Last year came back to him. Those words about something with his code that he never experienced. He saw the videos that were recorded when he came back and it still felt unreal. He knew how much Chaor trusted him and how much he cared for him. How much he hurt him when he got coded last year. The other thing he wanted to ask fade away. His hero would never, ever be like his father. He sighed, "Sorry. There is so many things going on and I just try to solve at least one of them. I know you are the true ruler of the Underworld. And I know you are more than what Van Bloot believe."

A small smile came on the red face of Chaor. He saw truth in his boy. He wished they were alone and he could just show how much he cared for him.

The creature remembered that they had an important meeting and needed to move on. He had to figure out what the M'arrillians were doing.

Sarah walked into Mount Pillar by the entrance. She didn't teleport in as she came unannounced and wanted to speak with the queen of their tribe. She nodded and spoke a bit with the guards that protected the hive. They showed her the way to meet the queen.

She told them, "I came to know who would come on Earth to watch over me. I know the queen will send someone. I rather see who it is than having a surprise," she explained.

The guards nodded. One of them walked away, "I will warn my queen. She already chose your protector," he accelerated his pacing.

"Sarah!" Wamma yelled as he quickly charged at her. He grabbed her and hugged the girl, "Are you okay? That Metalist didn't do anything to you? I learned they were near your home and-"

The girl was happy he was that worried for her, but she couldn't breathe when her face was pressed against his chest like that. She freed her face, "I'm… okay. For now," she warned him.

The big bug released her, "S-sorry," he scratched the back of his head a bit nervously. He asked, "You came here to know who will protect you?"

"Yes. I wonder if it's-" she noticed the red bug grumbled something a bit nasty. She never saw him get grumpy like that, "It isn't you."

"No. It's someone else. I'm the best one to protect you, Sarah. I am ready to fight those big Metalists to protect you. They might try to get you and I am stuck here, worrying about your safety."

His complains were genuine, but she had a feeling there was a bit more to it. It was the least important thing going on in the mind… and stomach of Wamma, "You won't be able to eat our food too," she had a small grin on her face.

"That too," he shyly admitted.

Sarah giggled a bit after his reply. The two walked together towards the throne room.

Wamma told her about the tortures he went through, aka, his intense training. He whined about it, but kept training, "And this is why it frustrates me. I trained to get stronger so I can protect you, but they are sending someone else than me!" he glared at Odu-Bathax when they passed near him.

The blue bug replied in kind, "I didn't tell them not to pick you."

"Yeah. Right," he grumbled, unconvinced by his reply, "Is it you? Are you then one who will protect Sarah?" he pocked the chest of his superior.

"No," he wacked the finger away and went on, "I won't. I rather not be near her brother," he glanced at her. He looked annoyed, thinking of the girl's brother.

"We'll see who it is when we meet with the queen," Sarah sighed as they went on. She hoped the creature wouldn't be too massive, that bug wouldn't enter in their home and it might awkward to let him rest outside every day.

The two Danians spoke a little bit longer, before they were on their ways. Odu-Bathax didn't follow them, but he did say, "And you are back to training once this is over!"

"Fine," Wamma grumbled.

The two reached the throne room and met with queen Aszil. The creature already knew they were coming thanks to the guard. She nodded at the girl, "Welcome Sarah. It has been a while since we've last met."

Sarah nodded, "Yes. I have been busy lately and I didn't come here as often."

"I heard of your friend's capture by those Metalists. We did notice a few of them around Mount Pillar, but so far, we didn't find any of them in here," the queen told her. She didn't really seem to care that much that Peyton was captured.

Sarah knew it was because Peyton was the guide of the Mipedians. Danians and Mipedians had a long history of hating each other's and from what she saw in the past, for some good reasons, "Peyton is my best friend," she glanced at the side, "And I'm really worried for him."

Aszil nodded, "Do not worry. We will make sure that you won't get kidnapped by this tribe too."

"I know," she didn't explain to them she tried to jump at them. Maybe she spoke about it when one Danian eavesdrop on them. Maybe not. She didn't remember everything they talked about in details, "Who is going to come to Earth and protect me?"

Wamma crossed his arms. He didn't say anything in presence of the queen.

"We needed someone who shall be alert. Not only that, but we made sure that the Danian we picked wouldn't cause trouble on Earth if he feels challenged in any shape or form. He needs to be one of our strong warriors who will also represent our tribe. This is why we chose Ekuud to protect you from the Metalist."

Wamma took a step back as he noticed Ekuud approaching himself. His four arms crossed as he glanced at them. The noble was serious and unreadable right now.

He knew why Ekuud was picked. The creature was someone who could hear many conversations in Mount Pillar. It was an exaggeration of course, but he was alert and never dropped his guards at any moments. It made sense why he was chosen and not him.

Sarah quickly pointed at the creature, "He is way too big to enter into my house you know."

"He will have to sleep outside if he cannot get into your home. The Metalists seem to be too large too," the queen replied.

That news didn't change the serious expression on the face of Ekuud, "I will not fail my queen or our guide," he glanced at the girl, "Sarah. I will make sure you are protected from the Metalist if they planned anything at all. I can vow for that."

Sarah wondered how much chaos he might caused if he lost his composure. Ekuud wasn't like his twin brother, but he could get loud and aggressive when things wouldn't go his way.

AC: This is the end of this chapter.

Next: The Hunt Began

Not all Metalists were loyal to their kings. Some of them noticed Peyton and his parents were in their city. They wanted blood.
