Disclaimer: I know I was probably stretching it with that 'legal age of consent' thing in the previous chapter. But I knew I would've gotten reviews asking about it, if not more serious choice of words, if I didn't at least address it. So that's the best I can do in Chase and Skye remaining an item. So, yeah. Hopefully that coming right before Chase's birthday doesn't sour anything. Let's try to enjoy the chapter to the best of our abilities.
Oh, and warning that this chapter will have quite a bit of gas in it. Because, you know; it's a Chase chapter.
Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.
Paw Patrol X
Powered Up Pooches arc Episode five: The Paw Patrol's First Adult Canine
It was bright and early in the morning in Adventure City, and Chase and Skye were shown sleeping comfortably in their beds. As they did, Chase heard an alarm go off on his phone and opened his eyes to pick it up from his bedside table. He turned the alarm off before seeing the date and realizing that it was his birthday! This made him smile before he heard his stomach growl. He knew what was coming and gave a confident grin as he got ready to let it out. Chase lifted his butt as he got ready to unleash the bomb, leading to him hitting Skye with...
PHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT
...a loud and bassy ten second fart, waking up Skye with a green cloud of rotting meat as his vibrating butt unleashed it on her. Skye ended up falling out of her bed while coughing from the fart and wafting it away as she stood up with Chase being reminded that she hadn't woken up yet. He went over to her, trying to hold in his laughter while smiling and helping her up. It wasn't the first time he forgot Skye was still sleeping before letting out his morning fart. "Sorry baby. I forgot you hadn't woken up yet."
"Wouldn't be the first time." Skye responded, and she turned on an air freshener beside her bed to eliminate the smell. When it started to work, Skye got on her tippy toes and kissed Chase before taking his paws in excitement. "Happy birthday sweetie! How does it feel being an adult? I have to know!"
"Honestly? About the same as I always do." Chase answered, walking over to the window with Skye while holding her paw. "Probably because I don't plan to take up smoking."
Skye giggled at that confirmation as she and Chase got a good look of the city from their window. Skye could tell that Chase was really starting to consider this place another home. It made her even happier now that she knew about his history with this place. "You've really grown fond of this place. Haven't you."
Chase wrapped his arm around Skye as he confirmed her belief. "You bet I have. And I couldn't be prouder of myself for it." Chase couldn't help smiling as he thought about how far he'd come since the first time he lived in Adventure City. "Ya know, after we got called here, I told Ryder that I was worried I'd be seen as that scared little puppy I was before." Chase looked at Skye as he shared his current feelings about the outcome of that. "I couldn't be happier knowing the opposite happened."
"You took the words right out of my mouth." Skye confirmed, wrapping her arm around Chase as they continued looking out the window. It may not be Adventure Bay, but after what they've endured in Adventure City so far, it was easy for them to start seeing it as another place to call home.
The rest of the team were setting up Chase's party later that day, and Wave was faking a stomach ache while setting up the food bar. "Oh God. Marshall. I don't feel so good." Marshall started to get worried, but before he could speak up, Wave pretended to vomit while spraying him with red silly string. "BLEEEEEGH!"
This caused Marshall to start laughing before jokingly calling out who it was that cooked last night. "Oh Zuma; what did you put in that trout last night?" He then picked up some orange silly string of his own and pretended to puke all over Wave while spraying her with it. "BLAAAARRRRG!
Snow went over to Wave and Marshall, who laughed before she spoke up in caution. "You guys, stop! Something terrible just happened!" Wave and Marshall's eyes darted to each other before looking back at Snow, who started spraying them with some green silly string of her own while pretending to puke. "BLEGH-BLEEEEEGH!"
The three laughed while spraying each other down before Zuma came along with a can of orange silly string. "Uh-oh dudes. I'm feeling it too!" Zuma then got to spraying all of them while pretending to puke. "BLAAAAAWWWWWG!"
The four Canines all laughed as Liberty walked up to them with a smile after helping Everest use her ice powers for the snow cone machine. "I didn't know you got to have snow cones and buffets at your birthdays! Chase is gonna love this when he sees it!"
"You know it Libby!" Wave exclaimed happily, and then she checked with Liberty to make sure she remembered one crucial thing for the party. "By the way, you remembered to get Chase something for his birthday, right?"
"Sure did! I put it under my bed so he'd know not to look there." Liberty answered, stamping her paws excitedly as she thought about her first time attending a birthday party. "I still can't believe I'm attending an actual real life birthday party." That concerned Wave, Marshall, Snow, and Zuma, who were all in hearing vicinity of what Liberty just said. "And for a member of the Paw Patrol no less!"
Marshall was the first to express his concern about what Liberty was implying. "You mean you've never been invited to a birthday party before?"
Liberty realized what she just did and started to look down. She then admitted that it was more serious than that. "Well, actually... I've never even SEEN a birthday party." That brought shock to their eyes, but Wave's wasn't as strong. She heard what Liberty told Chase during Humdinger's time as Mayor, so it made sense to her more quickly. "I never met my parents. And the orphanage I lived at was super mean to me." Liberty's voice cracked a bit as she indicated why Adventure City never threw her a party. "So no parties. I don't even know when I was born."
Wave knew what that was like from when she and Rocky were talking to Charm after coming back to Adventure Bay from Wolfland. She smiled before making an offer to Liberty to help her out. "That sounds like a call to learn when your birthday is! Mind if I pick a fur sample?"
"Um... okay." Liberty said confused, and after Wave plucked it, Liberty seemed concerned about how much work this would be. "It might be a lot of work Wave. I don't know my last name either."
Snow put a paw on Wave's shoulder while smirking, not wanting her to do anything drastic. "You'd better not be ditching Chase's party to learn what Liberty's birthday is."
"Nope! Better!" Wave assured Snow before heading over to Rocky, who was putting the finishing touches on Chase's new treadmill. He saw Wave walk up to him and hand him Liberty's fur sample. "Hey Rocky. If you're finished with Chase's present, could you please use this fur sample from Liberty on your identification device?"
Rocky didn't see why not. He was always happy to use his inventions. "You bet I could! I'll text you for the specifics when I put it in." Wave gave Rocky a fist bump before he headed off to fulfill her request.
Zuma saw Rocky's excitement and smiled lovingly before complimenting Rocky's passion. "Not a day goes by when he isn't weady to use his bwain."
Liberty saw how happy Zuma was and smiled when she brought it up. "It must be great having him for a boyfriend."
"It's the best. At least for me." Zuma said, knowing that Rocky was the one for him. This got Liberty thinking again about how she felt about Arrby.
Wave and the others were all having fun at Chase's birthday party with Arrby taking a shot at the apple dunking game. It was pretty hard for him since he was a Dachshund. But he was still making the best effort he could. He managed to get pretty close to grabbing one of the apples. It defeated the point of the dunking part, but they let him slide due to his stubby legs. "Almost. Almost." Just then, Arrby lost his balance and ended up falling into the pit. This splashed, Liberty, Skye, Everest, Rocky, and Zuma, who were all watching Arrby at his work.
Arrby then rose up, chuckling a bit while apologizing for his mishap. "Sorry guys." Liberty started shaking impulsively, making the others laugh with her joining in after she finished shaking.
Chase was sitting with Ryder on the couch, expressing his gratitude for the day he took him in. "I know I say this ever year, but you really changed my life Ryder. I don't know where I'd be without you." Chase then shuddered as he thought about the truck that almost hit him. "Probably stuck to the wheel of that truck."
"I couldn't have asked for a better first dog than you Chase." Ryder said while rubbing Chase's head. He then got a little sentimental as he brought up how much Chase has grown since he adopted him. "I still can't believe you're an adult now. We're only a few years apart in age, but it feels as if I've been raising you my whole life." Chase smiled and wiped a tear from his eye as Ryder finished what he had to say. "I wish I could say I was prepared for when one of you became an adult."
"I'm not moving out if that's what you mean." Chase joked, making Ryder laugh before Chase got serious. "I still have a long way to go in life in all honesty. I still want to become a police chief, and raise a family with Skye." Nearby, Zuma was filling up a water balloon behind the couch with his paw. As soon as he tied it up, he got ready to splash Chase with it. "I know it's a long way away, but I-" Zuma jumped over the couch and threw the balloon at Chase, splashing him with it all over his fur. He laughed while running off and Chase laughed. "Hey!"
Zuma laughed some more as his brotherly rivalry with Chase kicked in again. "Happy biwthday Chase! Considew that your official biwthday pwank!"
"How about a trade?" Chase asked, feeling the same vibe Zuma was in that instance. "Let's see who can land a bullseye on the dart board. Even though we know it's gonna be me."
Zuma gave a competitive laugh as he decided to up the stakes of the bet. "Oh-ho-ho. I'm so down! Loser has to walk all awound Adventuwe City on their fwont paws. Paw-standing the entire time, and no supew speed!"
"You got it!" Chase said, declaring his victory as he and Zuma gave each other competitive smiles and glares. "And for the darts specifically, you can't use your water powers to make my darts slippery."
"Wowks for me. I'm gonna kick your butt anyway." Zuma declared, confident he'd be able to beat Chase no matter what.
Later that day, at least three hours later to be exact, Zuma was making his way back to Adventure City... while walking on only his front paws. He was looking forward with a smile while doing this, showing that he was having a good time fulfilling his part of the bet. When he got closer to HQ, surely enough, Chase was waiting for him, outside of the building. He made sure not to go too fast, but his excitement led to him speeding up a little to meet up with him faster. Chase congratulated him when he got home. "Well done Zuma. You actually pulled it off."
"Thanks. Believe it or not, my paws awen't tiwed at all." Zuma admitted, and he then snickered before grunting, leading to his vibrating butt letting out...
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP
...a loud and bassy ten second fart, letting out a big green cloud of burnt bacon. This made him and Chase laugh before he got back onto his hind paws, joking about this with Chase as they headed over to the HQ elevator. "I did have a bit of twouble holding that in though."
Chase rubbed Zuma's head affectionately as he clarified one thing about the bet. "You know you were allowed to fart during the paw-stand walking, right?"
"Obviously. I just didn't wanna fawt on evewyone I passed by." Zuma explained, smirking as he took a shot at Chase for how shameless he was about that. "Of couwse, I doubt that's ever stopped YOU befowe."
"Nope." Chase said casually, pressing the button to send the elevator down for him and Zuma. When it came down, Chase filled Zuma in on what was happening when he came in. "Things have stayed pretty exciting since you headed out. Wave and Liberty are clashing in a game of Pup-Pup Boogie right now."
Zuma found that exciting, starting to get hyped up as he thought about showing Liberty why he had his title. "Finally; I get to show Libewty why I'm the ultimate Pup-Pup Boogie Champion of the world!"
"Oh, so you've fought EVERYONE who's a master at the game?" Chase teased Zuma with a smirk. "You went to every country and challenged the best players there?"
"If I did, I'd make them all flop at the Tailspin." Zuma said confidently, sharing the smirk Chase was giving him. When it came to Pup-Pup Boogie, Zuma was indeed the master in the Paw Patrol.
Wave and Liberty were playing their game of Pup-Pup Boogie, and to everyone's surprise, Liberty was winning. Both Canines were having the time of their life, and Liberty couldn't help but laugh at how much fun she was having. She started getting into video games thanks to Wave and Snow, but this had to be the most fun time she'd had playing them yet. She just loved moving around as much as she was. And Wave could feel her excitement. It lasted even when the two of them made their last move, and the game ended to give them their scores.
Chase and Zuma arrived just in time to see the scores being shown in person, and Liberty started cheering over the fact that her score was higher. "I can't believe it! I won! I actually won! This is the most exciting, most fast paced, and most fun I've had in a video game yet!" Wave and Liberty did their signature paw bump with Liberty looking back at their friends to see who else was down to play. "Alright! Who wants to go next!? I can take on anyone who's willing!"
Zuma walked past everyone and raised his paw, giving a confident smile to Liberty as he got ready to thwart her. "Wight here."
Wave gave Liberty some advice on how to handle Zuma, since she knew how good he was at this game. "Be careful Libby. Zuma's the best out of all of us."
"Then I'm gonna have even more fun taking him down!" Liberty cheered, and she then explained what she meant as Zuma was heading over to them. "Well, if I DO take him down anyway. I've never played any of you before today, so I wouldn't know, and-" Liberty shook her head as she looked at Zuma excitedly. "The point is I accept!"
Wave let Zuma step onto the control pad she was using and hop on to challenge Liberty to a game. "Then let's, get, moving!"
Zuma and Liberty both selected their difficulty, which they both chose the highest for since they were both so good. They also selected their song, which was none other than Good Mood. When the song started, the two of them instantly got into the beat, Zuma effortlessly showing off just how good he was at this game. Liberty was in shock, but that wasn't stopping her from giving it her all. She knew she had to give it everything she had for this match. She did for Wave as well, but this was Zuma, who Wave told her was the best of the whole team.
Skye was impressed by how quickly Liberty was able to get used to Pup-Pup Boogie. It made her tempted to face off against her next. "I'm thinking I should take Liberty on after this match. Just to see if I can take her on."
"You can take anyone on baby. Even Zuma struggled against you when he started." Chase reminded Skye lovingly while wrapping his arm around her.
Charm had his own two cents to give on this situation, implying that he didn't do a very good job at the game himself. "I'm starting to think being peppy gives people a faster learning process."
"That would explain how Wave learned how to steal my heart so quickly." Snow joked, making Wave smile as the two snuggled with each other.
Rocky then got a notification on his device and went over to Wave to let her know. "I got an update Wave. You wanna check it out now?"
Wave looked to Snow, who nodded and let go so she could check out the update. "You bet I do!" Wave kissed Snow before heading off with Rocky to see what the update was.
Wave and Rocky made their way to Rocky and Zuma's room, where Rocky had placed the Identification Device so he could keep it close by when the update happened. That, and it was a little something he plugged into his laptop so he could make the search more accurate to what he was looking for. The device was plugged in by a little capsule that had Liberty's fur in it. He looked at the first icon, which showed a picture of baby Liberty. "Awww, that's Liberty? How could anyone be despicable to that?"
"Lack empathy. Or a pulse. Or be Slash." Wave pointed out, and Rocky clicked on the link right after that. Amazingly, this told him and Wave all of the basics they needed to know about Liberty. Or at least what Wave wanted to know. She saw it as Rocky was scrolling down. "Right there! Personal info. That has to have her last name and birthday."
"Okay." Rocky stopped at the personal info, reading out Liberty's full name. "Liberty Martin. And she was born on August 20th, thirteen years ago."
"So she IS thirteen! Glad to see she was getting her age right." Wave said with a smile, and then she started thinking about how happy Liberty would be to learn about her birthday and last name. She had to have been questioning who she was for a long time now. And now they had an idea on her origin. "Thansk Rocky. Liberty's gonna be so happy when she finds out about this." Wave took her phone out and got a picture of it so she could plan Liberty's next party. "Just because it's nine months away, doesn't mean we can't plan for when it comes!"
"You would want to prepare that far ahead to make someone happy." Rocky responded, making Wave giggle at how far she would go to make her friends, or really anyone, be as happy as can be. "So when are you gonna tell her? I imagine she'd want to know as soon as possible."
Wave put her phone away when answering that, showing that she wanted to keep as much focus on Chase as could be. "This is Chase's special day. I should wait until after the party, so it's at the top of Liberty's mind."
"Sounds good to me." Rocky agreed, hopping out of his chair and heading off with Wave to rejoin the party. "I wonder what her first birthday party's going to look like."
"Knowing Liberty, it'll be covered in animal themed stuff." Wave then gasped as she thought of something Liberty would love. "We should find the time to take her to Farmer Yumi's! She'd love that!" Rocky nodded in agreement, knowing anything animal related would catch Liberty's attention.
Back in the living room, Liberty and Zuma were still clashing in the game with Zuma being just slightly ahead of Liberty in terms of score and groove. Zuma could see that Liberty was struggling a bit compared to him, and he decided to take a moment to boast about his skill. "Can't touch this. Watch and learn Libewty dude." Zuma then did a little sing as he did a pawstand spin while continuing to flex on Liberty. "I've totally got this." Liberty continued to smile, showing she was still having a great time.
Wave and Rocky arrived back at the party with Marshall asking if she got what she wanted. "Did you learn what you wanted to about Liberty?"
"Do Rocky's inventions always succeed?" Wave answered with a question, making Marshall smile as he sat next to Wave, who sat in between him and Snow. "So how're things going now?"
"Zuma's still winning, but Liberty's proving to be some of his greatest competition yet." Marshall explained, being quite invested in the match himself. "It's pretty crazy. I haven't seen anyone keep up with this game as well as Zuma other than Skye."
Liberty and Zuma continued their game in glee with the climax coming up as Wave responded. "I think we know how Liberty would be at dancing." When the last lyric of the song played, both Canines stopped at the set time before looking at the screen to see the results. As expected, Zuma won, but it was more slim than Wave and Liberty's match. Liberty only made two mistakes this time, and Zuma still came out on top.
Liberty ran up to Zuma, being amazed at how good he was. "Congratulations Zuma! That was awesome! You didn't mess up once!"
"It's all in the paws Libewty." Zuma explained confidently, having a good feeling he'd always be the best Pup-Pup Boogie player on the team. "And if anyone's gonna teach Melody how to play, it's gonna be me."
Liberty then realized that Melody wasn't there. That made her wonder where she was. "That reminds me. Why didn't Melody or your parents come? I thought they liked Chase."
"They do. But Melody's still in school, so we agweed that Winter Bweak would be the best time for her fiwst visit." Zuma explained, showing excitement towards the exact date she would be coming. "Her biwthweek to be exact. It's gonna stawt on the 19th of December, which is her biwthday, and end in Chwistmas, where I'll shower her with as many pwesents as I can get her!" Liberty couldn't help giggling at the sight of how much Zuma loved Melody. She really had a good brother.
Wave then realized it was getting close to lunchtime and got up to get started on cooking. "It's almost time for lunch and presents!" Wave started rushing over to the kitchen while prompting Skye to join her. "Hurry up Skye!"
"I'm coming!" Skye said while using her flight from her crystal to go over the couch. However, as soon as she did, she ended up being sent forward by...
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
...a loud and ripe seven second fart, sending her flying with a green cloud of burnt bacon and toast while unintentionally hitting Rocky in the face. Skye ended up crashing into the wall, since she was flying just before the fart snuck up on her, falling to the ground when deactivating her crystal and landing safely on her paws. Rocky coughed and wafted the fart away while she was doing this, leaving Skye to call back to him while blushing. "Sorry Rocky!"
Rocky put his paw up to let Skye know he was all good. Wave then gave her a fair warning as she looked into her eyes. "I'd recommend keeping that out of the kitchen, if you value your appetite." Skye chuckled nervously and nodded her head yes, knowing better than to mes with Wave when it came to food and cooking. No one would fart or burp while cooking on her watch.
After Wave and the others ate lunch, Chase was opening up his birthday presents, having just moved onto Charm's. When Chase opened it up, he was confused at first. It looked like some kind of blue pen, one that was very wide. He would've been grateful for it regardless, but he figured it was best to check in with Charm. "Is this a pen or something?"
"Nope. Press the button." Charm advised, and Chase did so, only to end up spawning a sword right out from the tip! The handle also changed accordingly, showing that it was specially designed to throw off the one who fought Chase as he held it. The sudden rise shocked everyone, especially Liberty, who barely evaded the tip of the sword while being stunned in place. Chase retracted the sword before being the first to glare at Charm for his reckless move. This led to Charm taking Claw's present, which went with his. "Yeah, I didn't really think that through."
"Thanks anyway. There might come a battle where I need it." Chase replied before putting the sword away. Charm was still proud to have given it to him. He then looked at Rocky, who put a paw on his face in annoyance as he thought about Charm's move. He knew Charm crafted the sword himself with his blacksmithing skills. But he should've expected that he'd use the button on it to surprise Chase.
Chase decided to go ahead and open up Claw's present, which was revealed to be a blue shield. Claw was happy to explain why when Chase started looking at it. "The match it is with Charm's present was just a coincidence. Since you'll be running around a lot more on the battlefield now, I felt like you'd need something like this for on the move defense."
Chase noticed a similar button on Claw's shield and pressed it, putting it away when it turned into a cube big enough to hold in your whole paw. "Thanks Claw. I'll be sure to make use of this, as well as Charm's sword." Claw gave a smiling nod with Chase then moving onto his next present. He saved the best for last, as this one was from Skye. This was a new coat in his size, and his color. He smiled when he looked at Skye, knowing why she made it for him. "Guess it's almost time for Winter, eh?"
"Yeah. I know your old one wasn't fitting much anymore, so I spent time making this one after summer ended." Skye explained, walking up to Chase as she expressed the love she put into it. "There's not a single ounce of my love that won't keep you warm when you wear it."
Chase wrapped his arm around Skye lovingly, knowing how much she looked out for him. "Thanks Skye. I love it more than you'll ever know."
Skye smiled lovingly with Wave then pointing over to the German Chocolate cake she and Skye prepared. "Since you're all finished with your presents Chase, we can have your cake whenever you want."
"I'm ready to eat if you guys are." Chase informed Wave, continuing to embrace Skye as they went over to eat the cake.
Wave, Marshall, and Liberty were taking the elevator down to the garage with Marshall feeling a rumble in his gut from all they ate at the party. Wave and Liberty heard this too with Marshall trying to hold it in, deciding to head over to the door of the elevator with Marshall standing on the opposite end. "Good call. I think this is gonna be a big one." Marshall continued trying to hold it in, straining as hard as he could to avoid farting in the elevator. However, as soon as Wave and Liberty held their noses, Marshall's butt was shown, and it vibrated as...
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT
...a loud and bassy thirty second fart erupted and covered the elevator with a big green cloud of spoiled meat and cheese. Marshall was a blushing mess from when the fart came out, all the way to when he reached the garage with Wave and Liberty. His fart continued with him wafting it away while apologizing to Wave and Liberty, who wafted it away as well with Wave coughing as she did. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have eaten as much as I did."
"Hey. At least it wasn't Chase." Wave joked, coughing a bit more due to the effects of the fart. "Speaking of which..." Chase, Claw, Zuma, and Arrby were revealed to be down there as well, laughing at Marshall's gassy outburst. Marshall's fart ended as soon after a couple seconds of him chuckling nervously. After he was done, Wave spoke to Liberty about what she wanted. "Go ahead Libby. I'm sure they'll say yes."
Arrby noticed Liberty and waved to her excitedly, being incredibly happy to see her on sight. "Hi Liberty!" Liberty waved to Arrby excitedly as well, which made her more excited about this.
Liberty walked over to Chase, Claw, Zuma, and Arrby seeming a little nervous about asking this question. Not because of the context, but because of how little she was used to asking to partake in things. "So. Wave told me you guys have your own little... fart contests down here, every year on Chase's birthday. Right?"
"We do. But they're anything but little." Claw warned Liberty with a cocky grin, confident he'd be able to outfart her.
Chase decided to give Liberty a test, walking up to her as he explained what it took to get in. "This contest is for the gassiest members of the team Liberty. But we know that can change at any time. So, if you can beat the fart Marshall just let out, we'll give you a shot."
"That's how I got in!" Arrby confirmed, and he then smiled nervously as he corrected himself. "At least I THINK I did. I just showed them what I can do and they said I was good enough to join in.
"Then let's hope I can do it too! Beating Marshall should be easy." Liberty said relieved, and she did just as Chase requested, letting out a forty five second fart on cue that reeked of spoiled cheese and vegetables.
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
...When Liberty was done, Chase, Claw, and Zuma all nodded at each other with approval, which led to Arrby winking to Liberty to say that she was in. This proved to be a good sign, as Zuma spoke up for all of them in that instance. "Good luck Libewty. It's gonna take a lot to beat us, even with a fawt like that."
Liberty squeed in excitement while stamping her paws happily, leaving Wave and Marshall to head over to the elevator to leave and give the four their private contest time. "I doubt either of us will be able to keep up with you two. We'll be upstairs, getting all of your baths ready."
Liberty looked at Chase in confusion, allowing him to explain. "These usually get nasty enough to make all of us need baths by the time we're done."
"Ah, yeah; that makes sense." Liberty responded, feeling that she should've been able to pick up on that. As Wave and Marshall entered the elevator, Chase, Claw, Zuma, Liberty, and Arrby all got ready to let the fart off begin. Chase, Claw, and Zuma pointed their butts out with Liberty and Arrby standing firm, and all five of them allowed their farts to fill up the garage with yellow eggy gas in that instance once the door to the elevator closed...
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF...
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...
PHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...
BLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...
...As Wave and Marshall rose up in the elevator, Wave ended up being snuck up on by...
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT
...a loud and bassy fifteen second fart, making her butt vibrate as she filled the elevator with a green cloud of rotten meat. She and Marshall ended up laughing after darting their eyes at each other, wafting the fart away as they did. No doubt about it. Chase's birthdays were always filled with gas, regardless of how many pups it came from.
Wave and Snow were giving Liberty and Arrby their baths the next with Wave bathing Liberty, and Snow bathing Arrby. Chase, Marshall, Skye, and Claw were all leaving the bathroom in that moment with Chase and Marshall doing their signature paw shake over the fact that Chase won. Snow was quick to snark about the fact that they took part in Chase's birthday fart off. "I know it's tradition for Chase and all, but I still can't believe you two took part in that. We have enough members destroying the HQ like that as is."
"But Chase didn't have any Mexican food yesterday." Arrby pointed out, and Snow's deadpan expression showed that Arrby missed her point. Arrby then expressed how amazed he was about his placement. "I just can't believe I lost to all of you."
"Hey. At least you gave it your all." Wave said with support, snickering a bit at how some of these conversations went down. "I still can't believe what I ended up getting on this team. Six years since Marshall and I started living with the Paw Patrol, and the constant fart talk in between missions still surprises me."
Liberty laughed a bit before making her reply to what Wave just said. "Yeah, it surprised me at first too. Specifically, when you were all cool when I excited farted in front of you when we met." Wave laughed a bit at that memory with Snow rolling her eyes while smiling, and Arrby smiling at the sight of Liberty having a good time in her bath.
Wave then remembered what she did for Liberty yesterday, smiling as she decided now was a good moment to bring it to her attention. Knowing Liberty, she wouldn't find the conversation topic to be a jarring transition. Plus, she wanted Liberty to know about this. "August 20th."
Liberty looked at Wave in confusion, unsure of why she said that particular date. "Huh?"
"August 20th. You know that piece of fur I got off of you the other day?" Wave asked, and Liberty nodded her head yes before Wave explained herself. "That's how I figured it out, thanks to a device Rocky made for this sorta thing. August 20th is your birthday!" Liberty had no idea what to say in response to that. She finally knew what her birthday was. And that wasn't the only thing Wave was revealing to her either. "I managed to figure out your last name too. Apparently, your full name is Liberty Martin."
Liberty took a moment to let that sync in before saying anything about it. It took a moment to process what she just learned about herself. For the longest time, the only things she knew about herself before coming to Adventure City were her first name, and her breed. But thanks to Wave, and Rocky, she knew her last name and birthday too. She couldn't help giving a smile in response to this, and did her fist bump routine with Wave as she thanked her for what she did for her. "Thanks Wave. This means a lot to me. And, I'll thank Rocky too when I can."
Wave and Snow continued bathing Liberty and Arrby as Liberty continued smiling over what she just learned. She may still have yet to find out what her new power is, but she felt a weight lifted off of her shoulders when learning about her last name and birthday. She still had some questions about her origin; particularly the identities of her parents. But this was a good step towards learning everything about herself. And that was enough for now. And with that, the screen faded to black, ending the episode off.
Rock music started playing as Wave started talking about what was going to happen with specific moments from the next chapter being shown. "It's about time Slash made his first attack on the city! Not that I was looking forward to it. I just want to stop him as fast as possible. These demons are as intense as ever. It's a miracle no one got infected yet. Oh no; Liberty! Sorry Ryder, I can't wait on this! There's no way I'm losing any seconds that could be used to save my friend!"
Wave finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines surrounded with a white border with Wave on the right, and Marshall on the left. "Next time, Demons In Adventure City!" Wave was shown refusing to listen to an order from Ryder, as her fear of losing Liberty, and her tenacity to save her, overpowered that. "Don't worry Libby! I won't let you turn!"
