A few days later, Mia is finally, allowed visits from non family members. She also finally has that bandage removed from her eye, she's still not used to being half blind, or paralysed, but thankfully, she still has full vision in her right eye, she's greatfull enough for that. As more, news about the shooting, is on the news, every day. Mostly about, Mia's prognosis, and that their thoughts and prayers, are with her, as well as the victims' families. Mia falls asleep, and wakes up, a while later, feeling a pair of lips brush againsed her own. Mia opens her eyes, despite only being able to see through, the right. To see Sarah looking over her, Mia smiles, and kisses her back. Sarah hugs her, Sarah: i thought, you were dead! Mia hugs her, back, since she's able to sit up, Mia: if it weren't for you Sam and my aunts Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup, i would've been killed. Sarah climbes in next to Mia, and snuggles, her. Mia giggles, and kisses her, Mia: mm, i like that lip gloss, Sarah: thanks, strawberry flavour, *Mia's favourite fruit* Sarah: i wore it, espeacially for you, Mia kisses her again, Mia: you know just how to treat me. Mia: you sure, you still wanna be with me, now that i'm half blind, and paralysed below the waist? Sarah pulles her in for a kiss that, goes on for a good 30 seconds, and even slips some tounge. Sarah: does, that give you an answer, because incase it doesn't. I'd stay with you, if you were nothing but a head, and spine, or if you were either fully blind, or a fucking vegtibal, because i love you too much. Mia: I love you too, Mia kisses her, Mary: um are we inturrpting something? Sarah and Mia, see Mary holding Jayden, and Sam, on a set of crutches.
Both girls blush, a shade, redder than HIM. Mia: how long have you been standing there for? Mary: we just got here, Mum is getting coffee, and Aunt Bubbles and Boomer, are busy in town, so Jayden is with us. Jayden, is asleep in Mary's arms, Mary: he's getting a little heavy, Jayden wakes up coughing, and his breathing sounds rhaspy, Mary can tell it's croup, Mary: oh no, Mia they have a shower in your bathroom too? Mia: yeah, you can use it, since they know how croup is treated, as they suffered it when they were little, and Mary and Sam sometimes still do, Mary c'mon Jayden, Mary takes him to the bathroom, and undresses him, before getting him in the shower with the exaust fan off, allowing the steam, to go into his lungs and clear his throat, unfortunatly, the water soaks his pants and underwear, since. It's a wheelchair accessable shower, Mary: oh dear, Jayden: sorry Mary, Mary: Jayden, you have nothing to be sorry about. Lets get you dried, a nurse walks in, nurse: what's going on in here? Mary: he had a croup attack, so i got him in the shower. But his pants and underwear are soaked. Mary dries him off, Mary: okay, Jayden, arms up, Jayden lifts his arms up, and Mary puts his shirt over them, Mary: oh, my Jayden, where'd you go? Jayden: boo!, his little head pops through his shirt, as Mary giggles, and wraps his lower half in a towel. a nurse gives her the rest of his clothes, in a bag, Mary: thank you, Mary carries him out, and places him next to Mia, Mary: his pants and underwear were soaked. Mia: oh dear, Jayden climbs between Mia and Sarah, and falls asleep, Mia sees his towel, fell off during the process.
And puts some more blanket over him, Sarah helps, knowing Mia, only has vision in one eye and can only move, the upper half of her body. Sarah and Mia kiss Jayden on his cheeks, as he smiles ihs, as Robin walks in, Mia: hi Mum. Robin: oh hey baby Robin kisses her daughter, Mary: Jayden, had a croup attack, i got him in the shower, only these got soaked, Mary hands, Robin, Jayden's soaked clothes, Robin: so he's? Mia: all he's wearing right now is a shirt. Robin calls Bubbles, and explains it, Bubbles: i'll get him some pants later, sorry Robin, we're gonna be here all day, Robin: i could watch Jayden overnight, Bubbles: that'd be great thanks. How's Mia? Robin: she's okay, Bubbles: i gotta go, sorry Robin, Robin: it's fine, bye. Robin: looks like Jayden is spending the night. At our place, Mary: do you think that Sam can sleepover too? since Sam was discharged a few days ago, since his injuries, aren't as serious or life threatening as Mia's were. Robin: if it's okay with his parents then yes. Sam: I'll call my mum, tries to get up without his crutches, Mary: Sammy, aren't you forgetting something? Sam: My legs are perfectly fine i ain't that crippled, oh sorry Mia, Mia: it's fine, but seriously, Mary is right, don't overdo it or, you could end up back in the hospital. Sam sees her point, and uses his crutches to hobble out, and call his mother, Jenny: hi sweetie, Sam: Mum, can i sleepover at Mary's house tonight please? Jenny: i don't know, is it okay with Mrs: Snyder? Sam: she said it's okay if you're okay with it, Jenny: then it's okay with me, Sam: yes! thanks mum, Jenny: i'll be calling Mrs: snyder to make sure you aren't lying mister. Sam: okay, thanks mum I love you, Jenny: i love you too, also i hope you aren't walking around without your crutches, Sam: you're starting to sound like Mary, Jenny: i like that girl, she has your best intrest at heart.
Anyway i gotta go, love you, Sam: i love you too, they hang up, and Sam hobbles back in. Sam: she said it's okay, but she'll be confirming with you about it. Sam sits back down, with Mary, Sarah, has fallen asleep, Mia is awake, and Jayden, is using her chest as a pillow, Mia giggles, and kisses the sleeping boy on the head, Mary lifts Sam's leg and places it on another chair, Sam: what're you doing? Mary: you know, you need to keep this leg elevated mister!. Robin: it not only helps with the pain, but it also prevents blood clots from forming, and you could potentially loos, your leg. Sam not wanting to loos his leg keeps it elevated, Mia: that's a good boy!, both Mia and Mary giggle. Sam: oh, ha, ha, ha, Jayden, holds his stomache, Mia: you okay? Jayden: i think i'm gonna throw up. Jayden, throws up on the sheets and gets some on Mia, Jayden: sorry, Mia: it's alright sweetie, Sarah, doesn't seem to be, covered, as Robin puts her in a chair, without waking her. Robin: Mary, can you do me a favour, and get Jayden and your sister in the bath please. Because, someone needs to watch Mia, if she falls under the water, or something. She won't be able, to get out on her own. Mary, and Sam help Mia into her wheelchair, that the hospital provided until she's discharged, and Robin already has a brand new electric wheelchair along with a manuel one, for areas she won't be able to use the electric chair or incase the battery is flat, waiting for Mia at home Robin is glad, that her insurance company, covered the electric chair, because of it being the latest model it was about $8000, it also has a standing feature so Mia can mantain the muscles in her legs. The manuel one she covered because it was only $500. And Boomer, Butch and Brick, pitched in to set up, a chair elevator, so she can go, up and downstairs, and several wheelchair ramps in Robin's house she also picked up a handicapped parking permit and put it in her car already and a spare one for Bubbles, and Boomer and Blossom, when she's traveling with them sometimes
Mary pushes her older sister, into the bathroom, as Jayden follows, and removes his shirt, which is all he's wearing, Sam is struggling with his crutches, to help Mary with getting Mia undressed, and almost, slips on the floor. Mary: you okay? Sam: yeah, i can't wait to get out of these crutches! Mary: you gonna be right to help, me get her in the tub? Sam: i guess, Mary: alright, sis arms up. Mia lifts her arms, up as Mary pulls Mia's hospital gown over her head since her clothes including her underwear had to be cut away when she was brought in, revealing she's wearing a pull-up, instead of underwear. Mia: they said i need to wear this just incase, because, I can no longer tell if i need the bathroom. Mary, shudders at the possibility, that Mia, might have crapped herself. And she'd have to wipe and clean her sister's backside, Mary knows that it's not Mia's fault, by any means the one at fault for it is the man that did this to her, but it'd be embarrasing for both sisters, Mary: you're lucky i love you Mia!, pulls down Mia's pull-up leaving her nude, which is thankfully just wet, Mia: sorry blushes after realising she's peed herself, Mary throws it in the bin, Sam has already filled the tub, and helped Jayden in, Mary: okay, Mia, gimmie a hug, Mia stretches her arms out, as Mary wraps her own around her big sister, and she gently lowers Mia into the water, Jayden giggles and climbs into Mia's lap, Mia wraps her arms around him, Jayden: sorry for throwing up on you Mia, Mia: that's okay, baby, you just aren't feeling well Jayden: so you can't feel that? rubs Mia's leg Mia: nope! Jayden: what about this? wiggles Mia's big toe, Mia: sorry nothing, Jayden stands up, and turns to face her, Jayden: what about this? Jayden gives Mia a big hug Mia: yes, of course i can feel that! Mia hugs him back Mia: i just can't feel anything a little bit lower than my belly button everything above it i can feel, Jayden: you can't even feel your pee-pee? Mia: nope i can't even feel my bottom. Mary: i'll be right back, Sam can youwatch them please? Sam: sure, Sam, watches Mia, as Mary exits the room, to see a nurse changing Mia's sheets, and Robin sitting with a sleeping Sarah, Robin: Mary, who's watching your sister? Mary: Sam, Robin: okay, as a knock on the door is heard, Robin: yes? two police officers enter, Robin: Mary go check on your sister, Mary goes into the bathroom, Robin: can i help you officers? cop: Robin, Snyder? Robin: yeah that's me, cop1: my name, is acting sergent, Skinner, this is detective, Mathers. We're with the team, investigating, the townsville Elementry school shooting, on monday. And we would like to know, if your daughter, Mia would like to give a statement.
Robin: What for? Mathers: just to see what she remembers, we're requsting to interview, all the surviving, students and staff it could help into the investigation, now it is complety optional, she does not have to do it, and she is by no means a person of interest or suspect neither are you. And we do understand the extent of Mia's injuries, it's completly up to you, because we will require parental consent, first, Robin: could you give me a chance to talk to her about it first? Skinner: of course, if you and Mia agree to the interview, give me a call on this number, hands Robin his card, Robin: okay, thanyou officers, Skinner: no problem, Mathers: have a nice day Mrs Snyder, Robin: you too, the officers, leave, and the nurse comes back in and finishes changing Mia's sheets, later, Mia is back in bed, Sarah and Jayden at her sides, Robin tells Mia about the police. Mia: what'd i do wrong? Robin: you didn't do anything wrong sweetheart, they just need to ask you if you remember anything that happened, at school on Monday, before you got shot. Mia: about the shooting? Robin: yeah, and if you don't feel comfortable, talking about it, you don't have to, Mia: i'll do it, but, when i get outta hospital, Robin: that's perfectly fine. Do you remember anything, you know, i'm always here if you, wanna tell me. Mia: the truth is, that, i've been getting nightmares, Robin lifts, Mia up and holds her, Mia instantly wraps her arms around her mother. Robin, Brushes her hand through Mia's hair, Mia: the last thing i remember, is Sarah gripping my hand, and seeing, my friend, Patrick, being shot, through the head three times after he begged for mercy!, Mia, breaks down in Robin's arms explaining, the truly horrific things that she saw. Robin: shh, oh baby, i hate that you had to go through that, Robin can't even begin, to imagine, what Mia, Sarah and Sam went through in that classroom. But Mia suffered the worse, and has developed PTSD from what she saw.
Mia: i love you mummy, Robin: i love you too baby, i love you and Mary more than anything in the world, Robin continues holding Mia in her arms, Robin wants the man who hurt her baby, and countless other kids that day to suffer, he'd murdered twelve innocent little kids, and five teachers, and had the audacity to post what he'd done on social media, and if wasn't for Blossom Bubbles and Buttercup, Mia wouldn't be preparing to go home in a few days, Robin would be planning Mia's funeral. Mia falls asleep in her mother's arms, Robin kisses her. As someone knocks on the door, Robin: yes? Bubbles walks in with Jayden's overnight bag, since he's staying with Robin and Mary, tonight so is Sam, Bubbles: hi guys, Robin: hey Bubbles, Mary, had to get both Mia and Jayden in the bath. Bubbles: how come Mia have an accident or something? Robin: Jayden threw up. Bubbles: oh no, Robin: i'll keep a close eye on him tonight, just incase, also two police officers came by, Bubbles: why? Robin: they wanna, interview Mia, and get her statement, i talked to her about it. And she explained the last things she saw, before being shot. Bubbles: what were they? Robin: her teacher being killed, Sarah gripping her hand, and her classmate, begging for mercy, before being shot three times in the head. Bubbles: oh my god!, Bubbles: as i was getting the kids, that didn't require immeadite medical attention, throught the hallway, i instructed them. To place their hands on each other's shoulders, and close their eyes, as i guieded them out, however, some of them opened their eyes, and saw, all the carnage in the hallways. Robin: oh god, Bubbles: i brought Jayden some clothes.
Robin: oh good, that way, i won't have him sitting in my car naked. They both giggle, Bubbles: any, idea when Mia can come home?, Robin: at first the Doctors said a week, but due to how well she's recovering, they said it'll only be a few more days! Bubbles: she's tough! Mia, is snoring away in Robin's arms. Bubbles: does she know about the new wheelchair? Robin: yeah, but not that it's an electric wheelchair. Bubbles: a nice, fancy one, Robin: also a very expensive one. Bubbles: what was it, like seven grand? Robin: eight grand, but my insurance company covered it. Bubbles: at least they're not thoes big greedy corperations, that only cover, people, when it benifits them, more than the client. Robin: yep, i covered the manuel chair, because, it was only. $500, Robin kisses her daughter, accidently waking her in the process, Robin: sorry, sweetie. Mia: that's fine, oh hi aunt Bubbles! Bubbles: hi sweetheart, how you feeling? Robin hands her to Bubbles, so she can hug her aunt, Mia: i'm excited about going home in a few days! Bubbles kisses her, and holds Mia in her lap, Mia: i miss my bed that's for sure! Bubbles: i don't blame you, if i was stuck in here, for almost a week. I'd miss my bed as well! Mia: i don't know, how i'll get in and out of bed, though, Robin: Mary and i will assist you with that. Mia: do you have a wheelchair at home for me? Robin: yep, it's an expinsive one too, Mia: how will i get around the house with a chair?, Bubbles: your, Uncles Boomer, Brick and Butch, pitched in to set the house up, to accomodate one, for you. Mia: i don't know how i'll be able to go to the firing range, now that i can't stand up, and blind in one eye. Robin: we'll, figgur something out, Mia: so, you're okay with me using my gun, after getting shot? Robin: Mia, it's something you enjoy isn't it? Mia: yep! Robin: then i won't take it away, yes you got shot, but we could set the targets up, and shoot them while, you're sitting down.
Mia: i guess, that's true, and i don't need two eyes to aim, i'm thinking i should get a patch, for my bad eye. Sarah: a lesbian with an eyepatch i like that!, *mutters after waking up* since Mia came out to her family and friends, months ago. But they don't know, that her and Sarah, are together, since it happened the day of the shooting. Mia: should we tell em Sarah? Robin: tell us what? Sarah: sure, but your family, you tell em. Mia: Sarah, and i are now together. Robin: what do you mean by that? Mia: do you have to spell it out? Bubbles: please, do. Mia: come here Sarah, Sarah giggles, and walks up to Mia, and pulls her in for a kiss, Robin: wait, you guys are? Mia: yep, Bubbles: aww, that's nice, Robin: since when? Mia: monday, the day of, well you know. I think that Mary and Sam, know by now, Robin: why? Sarah, they walked in on us this morning, Robin: doing what, exactly young lady? you better not have been doing grown-up stuff, you're both ten years old since they're too young to do, adult stuff, Mia: relax, we were kissing that's all, she even wore strawberry lip gloss! Bubbles: that's nice! Jayden wakes up, Jayden: Mummy! runs up to her, and sits near her, Robin takes Mia, Jayden: Mia wears pull-ups now!, Mia blushes outta embarrasment, Bubbles: i know, but she has to, incase she has an accident. Robin, has to stockpile pul-ups, again, as Mary, only recently stopped wearing them to bed, when she was six. Bubbles: you wear them too mister. Bubbles: also, why are you naked young man? Jayden: i had a croup attack, and my pants got wet, and after that i threw up, and got some on my shirt! Bubbles opens, Jayden's bag, and gets him a pair of clean clothes and helps him get dressed.
Jayden climbs into his mother's lap, as she kisses him, Bubbles: you excited about tonight? Jayden: what? Robin: he was asleep, Bubbles: daddy and are going to be very busy again tonight, so you're sleeping over, at Aunty Robin's tonight, Jayden: yay! Robin: you're coming home with Mary, Sam and i later, which is why your mummy brought your overnight bag. That and so you can get some clothes on, you aren't gettin in my car without any clothes on, young man Robin tickles his little belly with one, hand and hold Mia in the other. Jayden: is Mia coming too? Mia: sorry, Jayden, but i have to stay here for a few more days, but i'll be home soon, Jayden: good, as Bubbles kisses her son. Later, Bubbles had to leave an hour ago, Mia is back in her bed, Jayden snuggled up to her and Mary, fast asleep. Robin checks the time, 18:00PM Robin: okay kids, time to go, Mary wakes Sam, and Jayden, as Sarah gets, up and kisses Mia goodbye. As do Jayden Mary and Robin, and they drive Sarah home, Sarah: thanks, for the ride, Mrs Snyder, Robin: you're welcome Sarah, Sarah: see ya, she goes into her house, as Robin drives everyone else home. A few days later, Mia is finally allowed to go home, for the first time since the shooting. Mia is carried out by Robin, Mary is at home, since Bubbles Boomer and Jayden, are also there waiting for her, as are Sarah and Sam, Robin places Mia in the car and Mia, puts on her own saftey belt, and Robin gets in the driver's seat and they drive home. Robin, carries Mia inside, Bubbles: look who's home. Robin: i got a little surprise for you Mia, Robin takes her upstairs, and shows Mia her new wheelchair, Robin: what do you think? Mia: i love it! Robin: i knew you would, places her in the chair, and buckles her in, so she doesn't fall out, Robin: give it a try! Mia, pushes the handle causing the chair to go fowrd. Robin: press this, Mia presses a button, causing the chair to move to an upright position, Mia's feet on the floor, although she can't feel it, Mia: wow! Robin presses it again.
Causing it to change back, Robin: i got you, this and a manuel, chair, just for when you can't bring this one to certan places, or, if the battery dies. Mia: thanks mummy, i love it, and i love you! Robin: you're welcome baby, and i love you too, Robin hugs and kisses her, as she helps Mia downstairs, although she's in her chair, she helps her down the ramp. And she spends time with everyone, later. Robin, helps Mia bathe, and into her pyjamas, before putting her into her, own bed and tucking her in. Mia: night mum, love you, Robin: i love you too, baby, Robin kisses her, and leaves, Mia is about to go to sleep, in her own bed for the first time, in what feels like forever, when someone knocks on her door, Mia: yeah? Mary walks in, and quickly closes it. Before climbing into bed with her big sister. Wanting to sleep with Mia, on her first night back at home, Mary: didn't want you to be alone your first night, at home, Mia: i appreciate the company! Mia snuggles up with her baby sister, since the two of them have always been insepreable, Mary: love you, sis, Mia: i love you too, they both fall asleep together.
