Episode 6: Show Your Colors
RING! RING! RING! RING! RING!
The rhythmic sounds of the bell entered the ears of everyone in the classroom. Grins started forming on the lips of the students before they started standing up from their desks and began gathering their belongings.
"Alright, class. Remember, the assignment will count for ten percent of your grade, so you all better study up." The teacher announced.
Most of the students nodded their heads to the teacher. Others merely groaned as they continued packing and some just resumed with their actions without giving off any kind of response.
Among the students was Kameron, whom was putting his notebooks into his backpack. Unlike the other students who were smiling, Kameron's lips curved downwards.
With the last of his belongings going into his backpack, Kameron placed it onto himself and began making his way out of the classroom along with the rest of his classmates. Entering the hallways Kameron released a hand from a strap as he walked.
"Yo! Kameron!"
Hearing his name getting called, Kameron slowed his movements and turned his head to see Lars, Sadie, and Ronaldo coming up to him. The very sight of his friends made his lips slightly curve upwards. Once the others caught up to him they all began walking side by side.
"So, we didn't see you at the cafeteria. What's up with that?" Lars said.
Kameron adverted his eyes for a few seconds before turning them back to his friends. "I got into a fight with my siblings this morning. I wanted some solitude."
His friends' gazes slowly turned into concern.
"What was it about?" Sadie asked.
A breath of air exited Kameron as they turned a corner. The hand on his strap began to increase while he turned his head forward.
"My involvement of being a Rainbow Gem." Kameron replied. "I mean...I get it. They've been doing this for a long time and I'm still new to all this. I'm trying my best to keep the world safe while also coming here on time. And now...my attendance record is at stake."
Coming up to a selection of stairs the four friends brought out one leg and began to descend. Gathering the words Kameron had told them, the others looked at one another with confusion and concern.
"Well... You know you're not the only one who is protecting the planet, right?" Sadie pointed out.
Reaching the end of the stairs Kameron turned his head to Sadie.
"Sure, you're doing your part, but so are your family. Aren't they going through a similar thing you're going through right now, if not longer?"
Kameron's lips curved down as he absorbed her words into his ears and mind. She wasn't wrong, far from that. And he did understand exactly what she just told him. What his family was going through is a parallel to what he was going through right now. He's known that for the longest time since he was younger.
"Yeah..." Kameron replied and resumed walking.
Up ahead Kameron spotted a small collection of doors and quickly pushed himself forward, opening it up and allowing his friends to walk out before he followed them.
Coming outside the four friends turned their eyes onto a large collection of buses in front of them and seeing several people getting onto them.
"Well, I hope what's going on with you and your family works out." Lars said as he and Kameron fist bumped.
"Remember, my friend." Ronaldo added, placing a hand onto Kameron's shoulder. "Though you are a capable warrior, you are human. An amazingly awesome human."
Kameron cocked an eyebrow at Ronaldo, but his words were able to make him snicker before Ronaldo released his hand on his shoulder.
"You're not alone in this, Kameron. Always remember that you are never alone, even when you think you are." Sadie added.
Kameron gave a nod before they shared a small hug. Once they separated Sadie, Lars, and Ronaldo turned their heads to the buses and began making their way to them. Watching them go Kameron placed his free hand into his pocket and turned his body before walking off.
Getting off of the bus Kameron waved back at the bus driver and traversed himself among the sidewalk.
Turning his head his eyes locked onto his house up ahead. Any other day he would've been okay or happy coming home after school if nothing was going on, but...today wasn't those days. Coming up to his house Kameron's grip on his backpack began to tighten. His eyes locked themselves onto the front door as he made his way to it. There were a plethora of scenarios that entered into his mind. Nearly anything could happen the moment he opens that door and what was the rest of his family going to say to him? It was entirely left up to him, and so he raised out his arm and grabbed onto the doorknob.
Twisting it, Kameron soon opened the door. Raising his head his eyes shot themselves open at the sight of a fist coming right at him. Shutting his eyes Kameron stood in place for the fist to come to him, but...a few seconds passed...and...nothing happened. Slowly opening his eyes he saw his brother Pyrope standing directly in front of him with his fist still out.
Retracting his fist Pyrope straighten up his upper-body. His eyes narrowed at his little brother while he put his arm down.
"Get in here. We need to talk." Pyrope said firmly.
Without a word Kameron stepped inside the house and took off his shoes before pushing them to the side of the door. Watching Pyrope close the door, Kameron followed him straight to the living room. Coming up to the living room Kameron saw all of his siblings gathered around alongside their parents. All eyes were then placed him, making a rhythm beat in his chest.
"Take a seat, Kameron." Green said with a solemn voice.
Turning his head and body, Kameron walked up to the little couch and took off his backpack before turning his body again and sitting down.
Pyrope soon walked up to the big couch and took his seat next to his sister, Amber.
Soon the atmosphere in the living room took it's toll. Not a word was spoken from anyone. Eyes merely shifted from one direction to the next. Under different circumstances, this would've been peaceful. But there was no calmness in the air. If there was, it was layered with something else.
"Kameron." Green spoke. "Were you the one who asked us to become a Rainbow Gem?"
Turning to his father, Kameron nodded, "Yes, sir."
"Why did you want to become a Rainbow Gem?" Green questioned.
Kameron opened his mouth to speak, but the words didn't form. Closing his mouth he adverted his eyes for a brief moment and soon placed them back onto his father.
"I wanted to be just like you all." Kameron admitted. His voice became soft, yet filled with sorrow. "I wanted to help."
Green then turned his head to his wife as she clasped her hands together and placed them onto her lap. "Kameron. There is nothing wrong with wanting to help others. It is a good thing for you to want to help others, but...there is always a time and place for it as well." Christie's voice was calm yet solemn as she added some strength into the grip onto her hands. "You are the youngest in the family. You also have to go to school and balancing that with your responsibilities as a Gem is very difficult,"
"We are not saying that you cannot help, brother." Azurite added. "But do you remember the first thing we told you when you were starting out?"
Putting his backpack on the floor Kameron took his arms and held them both in his palms. His lips greatly curved down as his thoughts began to bring back the memories of the beginning.
"The life of a Gem is not fun." Kameron replied. "And if I chose to join you all, what I would experience would forever change me."
Azurite nodded her head, "Correct."
Leaning back on the couch Kameron continued holding his arms as he looked at his family. "And I took the gamble." He admitted. "And you all were right. And I'm sorry for what I said this morning."
Charoite and Lepidolite soon rose up from their seats and approached their little brother. Charoite took her seat on the armrest at the end of the smaller couch while Lepidolite placed herself right next to Kameron. Reaching out her hands Lepidolite planted them on her little brother's cheek and squished them.
"We love you, Kameron." Lepidolite said softly with a small smile. "We love you so, so much. And that also makes us worry about you whenever you come with us on missions. But you worry about us too, don't you?"
Kameron slowly nodded. "Every single day." He said with a squished voice. "You guys are more experienced than me, but... But...what if one day-"
Charoite reached out her hand and placed her index finger onto her brother's lips. He then turned his head to her as she softly smiled at him.
"That's not gonna happen. We promise. That will never, ever happen. Understand?"
Charoite's voice...sent a soothing vibe onto her little brother. She could see it in his eyes on what he was going to say, but those words weren't needed. Not now, not ever.
Slowly nodding his head, Kameron watched as Charoite removed her finger from his lips and Lepidolite removing her hands from his cheeks.
"Listen, hun." Amber said, gaining Kameron's attention. "We get where ya comin' from. This ain't our first time doin' this. So, how 'bout we make a deal. Ya can still spread ya wings wit us, but...only when yer not in school. Got it?"
Kameron's eyes soon drifted to the floor. To be fair, that type of agreement sounded fair, yet does increase his worrying at the same time. But... With how things were playing now, it wouldn't make things better in the long run. So...he gave Amber a nod.
"Deal." Kameron replied.
The atmosphere began to livin up get a little, making the weight dial down just a bit, but it was still there. Even so, at the very least, he'll play his part when the time comes for it.
Shortly after Christie raised out her hands and started clapping, gaining the attention of her kids and her husband.
"Okay. Now that this situation has been handled, I think it's time we discuss something just as important." Christie turned her head, putting her eyes onto Kameron as her lips bean to curve upwards.
Kameron's pupils slowly began to dilate. His cheeks started to feel a lot warmer than before when everyone placed their eyes on him.
"Did you talk to Elizabeth today?" Christie asked Kameron with a sly tone.
The rhythmic beating in his chest started to return, only at a much more rapid pace. Gripping onto hi arms Kameron adverted his head and closed his eyes. The rest of the family watched with slight amusement, yet the answer Christie asked for wasn't received. Oh well...I guess drastic measures are to be made.
Kameron's eyes shot themselves open at the sudden feeling in his pocket. Turning his head his eyes started to shrink at the sight of Charoite putting her hand into his pants pocket and soon pulling his phone right out of it.
"Char, no!" Kameron yelled as he attempted to take the phone back, only...for his hand to pass right through hers. "Give me back my phone!"
Over and over Kameron's hand passed through Charoite while she herself simply unlocked his phone and went straight into his contacts. A small gasp exited her lips as she got up from her position. "He got her number.~"
"Char, c'mon! Please, give me my phone back!" Kameron continued to yell as he got up and resumed to take back what was his, only for it to fail. He then fell onto his knees with sorrowful moans exiting his mouth.
"Aww, should we call her to see if the number works?" Lepidolite suggested.
"NO!" Kameron screamed, catching nearly everyone off guard.
"Charoite. Please give Kameron his phone back." Green said calmly.
Turning her body to her little brother, Charoite saw his entire face turning completely red with his pupils beginning to shake. Stretching out her arm, Charoite presented the phone to Kameron, whom swiped it right out of her hand.
"Ugh! I can't deal with you all sometimes!" Kameron yelled as he got up from the floor and grabbed his backpack before storming himself toward the stairs.
Reaching the top Kameron made his way to his room, slammed the door behind him, and throwing himself onto his bed. Grabbing a pillow he soon pushed his entire face into it.
*Muffled screams*
Picking his face up from the pillow Kameron let out a long sigh and planted his face into the pillow once more. That...was the MOST EMBARRASSING THING he had to go through! Ugh! Why!? Why!? WHY!? Was this punishment for this morning? He said he was sorry for the universe's sake! He agrees with the condition of going on missions when not in school! But why in the name of existence does he have to get embarrassed like that!? UGH!
Just when Kameron was about to scream in his pillow again a sudden soothing sensation began coursing onto his back. It felt...good. Really...really good. A sigh of relief exited his mouth right as he lifted his head and turned it to the side. Raising his eyes he saw his brother Onyx with his nonchalant expression rubbing his back.
"Thanks, Onyx." Kameron said.
Onyx gave his little brother a nod.
Removing his hand Onyx turned his body around and sat down at the edge of the bed. Not long after Kameron's door opened up with the rest of his siblings coming inside. At the sight of them Kameron turned his head to the opposite direction.
"C'mon, you can't get mad at us for being curious." Charoite said.
Kameron didn't respond and kept his head on his pillow. "I was gonna ask you guys something, but now I don't think I will."
The siblings turned to each other with confusion and turned their eyes back onto Kameron.
"What were you gonna ask us?" Citrine asked.
"Forget it." Kameron replied.
Amber soon let out a sigh and approached her little brother. Summoning out her index finger a collection of sparks erupted out of it right when she pierced his back.
ZAP!
Kameron yelped at the numerous jolts coursing through his body, making his body twitch until he collapsed onto the floor. Letting out a small groan Kameron narrowed his eyes until Amber pointed her finger right at his nose.
"Why don'tcha tell ya brothers and sisters what ya wanna ask us." Amber said with more jolts surging around her finger.
Swallowing some saliva Kameron gave her a nod, allowing him to pick himself up and sit on the edge of his bed. He probably regret doing this, especially after what just occurred downstairs, but his family was just teasing him.
So... taking a breath, Kameron began telling his siblings what he wanted to tell them.
Up above Destiny City the sky showcased a deep shade of blue without a cloud in sight. The only thing that was shown in the sky was the bright yellow sun; shining it's bright and warm light from way up high.
Down below on Slayer Avenue a small group of birds cheerfully chirped as they soared in the air. Gliding through the streets the birds continued their happy chirping while approaching a large tree in the distance. Upon coming up to the tree the birds pulled themselves back, lightly flapping their wings until they softly landed onto their nest with three small chicks chirping at them with delight.
On the streets a selection of people gradually made their way among the sidewalks. From crossing the streets to get to the other side or casually traversing on the concrete, many civilians were passing by greeting one another or giving off small waves once they passed each other.
Right in the middle of Slayer Avenue stood a humongous fountain. From the very tip at it's top a huge sprinkle of water showered into the atmosphere. Below the top another layer of sprinklers erupted into an arch followed by several more just under it. The light of the sun mixed in with the water arches, summoning out a small collection of rainbows, but only until the arches started to get weakened and disappeared.
Standing in front of the fountain was Kameron, raising his head up high to the deep blue sky with his goggles covering his eyes. Today, Kameron wore a white short-sleeved collared shirt with dark-blue jeans and white sneakers. Unlike his casual attire, it was a very, very special day today. So wearing something a little more...dressy was a bit more appropriate for the occasion.
"Kameron!"
Hearing his name getting called, Kameron turned his head while raising up is goggles. As he did this his pupils immediately began to dilate once his goggles were placed on his forehead.
In the distance Elizabeth had arrived in the area and started jogging toward Kameron. While the rest of the world moved at a normal pace, between Kameron and Elizabeth, everything around them started slowing down. Each step Elizabeth took only made the atmosphere slower and slower, giving Kameron a clear view of her coming to him, but in turn the more she approached him the more his face felt warmer by the second.
Unfortunately, the moment Elizabeth came up to him, the atmosphere had reverted to normal. Although, that wasn't such a bad thing. Letting out a collection of breaths Elizabeth bent her upper-body forward with one hand on her knee. Her chest started raising itself up and down at a balanced paced until she she took in one last breath and straightened up.
"Sorry if I'm late. There was some traffic and I had a little tuffle with my brother. Have you been waiting long?" Elizabeth said.
Her words entered into Kameron's ears, but they couldn't reach into his brain. Right in from of him stood not just a girl, but...maybe an angel. Elizabeth wore a long white dress with white belt cuffs around her waist and upper-arms. The dress itself was a tad short, exposing her beautiful legs and at the very bottom of her legs her feet were contained in white open-toed sandles. Up above she wore a white-silver necklace and had on a small amount of makeup. Her cheeks looked a bit powdered and her eyelashes were curled. Her lips had a small amount of pink lip-gloss, sparkling in the light of the sun. Lastly, her hair looked well combed, giving off a glow in the rays of the sun. Yeah, she was definitely the second most beautiful angel he'd ever seen.
Blinking her eyes, Elizabeth tilted her head at him. "Kameron?"
From the jolt in her voice Kameron quickly shook his head and place a hand on the back of it. Geez, it's rude to stare, but when you see something so mesmerizing you can't help it.
"S-Sorry." Kameron replied. "You...you look really beautiful, Elizabeth."
A small gasp exited her mouth. Her cheeks bean to get a bit warm from his compliment. However, her lips curved upwards as she slowly turned her head away.
"T-Thank you. I...didn't think it was necessary, but I wanted to make a good impression." She said as she wiggled her shoulders. "My brother scolded me for it. Saying it was too much, but I didn't care. Do you think it's too much?"
Kameron shook his head. "I don't think it's too much. Plus, I'm sure you're brother was just being protective of you."
Halting her shoulders, Elizabeth turned her head back to Kameron and scoffed. "He been protective of me ever since I was born. And...while I understand, I'm not a baby anymore."
Kameron smirked as he placed a hand on his hip, "I know the feeling. My siblings get that way with me sometimes since I'm the baby of my family."
"Me too." Elizabeth replied.
Shortly after the two soon let out some giggles. Five minutes of their first date and they're already connecting.
Taking a few short breaths, the two locked eyes onto each other right as Elizabeth walked up to Kameron and stretched out her arm, wrapping it around his.
"So... How do we start our date?" She asked, tilting her head with a cute smile.
On contact Kameron's face immediately got warm. That smile... Oh, man. And she was asking him to call the shots. Great... Okay, don't screw this up too much.
"I...have a few ideas, if y-you're willing to hear them?" Kameron replied.
Elizabeth's smile grew as she pushed herself closer to him. "I'm all ears."
Crossing the streets the duo lifted their heads to their first destination. Standing right in front of them stood Ninth Theater. As it's name implies, it is the ninth theater that has stood in the Lantern District for the quite some time. For what has come to the other eight some might ask, well...let's just say they couldn't say around for too long. Hopefully, this one stays a lot longer than the rest.
Turning their heads to the side the duo caught several posters catching their attention. Walking toward them they both locked their eyes on two posters. One was of young teenager on his knees, holding a girl in his arms. His head was stretched out to the sky with a ray of light shining on them. Their clothing was ripped and torn with a sword stand right behind the guy. Underneath them showed the title: Ray Of Hope. The other poster showed two teenagers sitting on a bench. Both of them held hands while in their other hands were a baseball bat and a knife. Moreover, the teenagers wore white porcelain masks with red marks coming out of the eye sockets. Underneath the two showed the title: Who Am I?
"Which one you wanna see?" Kameron asked.
Elizabeth cupped her chin. Squinting her eyes she took a look at both posters. Ray Of Hope looked interesting. She hasn't seen any trailers about it and the artwork for the poster looked really nice. The imagery itself set a number of things in her minds as to what this could be about, but see it would be a better choice than coming up with theories. As for the other poster, a small groan exited her mouth. The illustration itself looked good, but...creepy at the same time. That alone made her think of what this one could be about, but...she rather not find out.
"Ray Of Hope." Elizabeth answered.
Giving her a nod, Kameron and her turned their bodies and made their way to the front desk. Luckily for them, the people in front of them had began to walk away, giving them the opportunity to go next.
"Excuse me." Kameron said, gaining the front desk-girl's attention. "May we have two tickets for Ray Of Hope?"
The front desk-girl began typing on her computer and stopped once she hit the last key. "Okay, that'll be fifteen-dollars, please."
Reaching into the back of his pocket Kameron pulled out his wallet and gave the front desk-girl a ten-dollar bill alongside a five-dollar bill. Taking the money the front desk-girl pulled out two tickets and gave them to him.
"Enjoy the show." The front desk-girl said.
"Thank you." Elizabeth replied.
Going inside the building the duo walked to the ticket taker, handing him the tickets they received. The ticket taker gladly took them and ripped off portions of them before handing them back.
"Ray Of Hope will be down the hall to the right. It'll be on the left." Said the ticket taker.
the duo gave him a nod and progressed themselves onward. Passing the ticket taker the duo spotted the concession stand in the distance. The two looked at each and surprisingly, they could tell what the other was thinking. It was probably also due to the scent of butter in the air that gave them a sixth sense to it too.
Obtaining some popcorn, some drinks, and a teeny-tiny amount of sweets from the stands, the duo were now prepared for show to come. Following the ticket takers directions, the duo went inside and climbed a small amount of stairs before taking their seats.
The lights in the room began to dim and soon after that show began to start.
Exiting the theater small sobs slowly left Elizabeth's mouth. Her eyes were red with small droplets of water coursing down onto her cheeks. She held her hand close to her mouth and tried wiping away her tears, but for some reason they just wouldn't stop falling.
Kameron felt a huge wave of sorrow surround him as he looked at her in the state she was in. His lips curved down the more he looked at her. His hands began to twitch the more she sobbed. The next thing he knew he stretched his arm around, wrapping it around Elizabeth.
A gasp exited her lips, making the two stop in place. Turning her head Elizabeth put her eyes onto Kameron. Although there were no turning coming from his eyes, they were filled with sorrow. Twisting her whole body she then wrapped her arms around his waist, placing her head onto his shoulder. Stunned by her sudden action Kameron returned her affection, wrapping his arms around her waist and gently caressing her head.
"This is stupid for me to ask, but...are you okay?" He asked softly.
Elizabeth sniffled a bit as her sobs were coming to an end. "I...I'm sorry. I just... That wasn't how I thought it was gonna play out."
Kameron continued caressing her head and holding her. Under different circumstances and if was any other guy Kameron would be a happy idiot. Here he was, stand on the sidewalk holding a beautiful girl in his arms as she cries. Most guys were be overjoyed by this and have their hearts beat like a drum. But...that's not the case right now. Being a happy idiot in this situation would be pathetic and it would make him look like the biggest jackass ever. That was so pathetic. That wasn't what Elizabeth needed right now.
"I never thought that would happen too." He replied softly. "That was some intense acting."
Pushing herself away from Kameron Elizabeth wiped her eyes again. Raising out his right arm Kameron's Gemstone illuminated a green glow before a small sphere of light came out of it. The light began to dim and within it was a small handkerchief. Grabbing it he handed it to Elizabeth.
"Here."
Lifting her head she spotted the handkerchief in his hand and took it. Raising it to her face she wiped her with it before putting onto her nose and blowing into it. Removing it she turned her head to a nearby trashcan and threw it away. "Thank you, Kameron." She said kindly.
"You're welcome." He replied.
Sucking in some air, Elizabeth exhaled it out. It's been some time since she's cried like that and toward a movie she had no prior knowledge about. Though watching it play out and guess what was gonna happen next made all worth while.
"I'm sorry again." She said.
Kameron shook his head, "Don't apologize. It's okay." He added with his lips lightly curving up. "Would you like to do something to take your mind off of it?"
"Oh, Kameron. That's sweet of you, but...you don't have to. We can do something you like if you want?" She replied.
Kameron tilted his head. "You sure? I wouldn't mind doing something you liked."
"I appreciate that, but...I wanna get to know you a little better. So, I wanna see what kind of stuff you're into before we do what I like."
Blinking at her Kameron let her words enter his ears and get into his brain. She...wants to see what kinda stuff he's into before he gets the chance to see what she's into. Huh. He'd figured it be the other way around, but...it wasn't anything like that right now. But...seeing this as an opportunity, who's to stop him from taking that step?
Giving her a nod he slowly raised out his hand to her. Returning his smile she gladly took his hand into her own and got pulled toward his direction.
Through the streets the duo took a quick turn through a corner, passing by several people giving them odd looks. Making another turn around the corner Kameron slowed his speed down when locking his eyes straightforward. Up ahead there was an subway station entrance, however the entrance itself was covered with several blocks of wood and police tape. At the center it even showed a sign that said: DO NOT ENTER.
Coming to a complete stop Kameron released Elizabeth's hand and approached the sealed-off entrance. Now, any normal person would look at the sign, walk away, and continue on with their day. It was pretty obvious that this entrance was closed off for a reason. To ignore it was a good thing and showed high respect as a civilian of Destiny City. But...that only followed to those who were goody two-shoes.
Adverting his eyes from left to right, only a small amount of people were coming and going. So...once an individual had disappeared from Kameron's sight he raised up his leg and shot it forward. Aiming it right on the sign the impact broke the wood into multiple pieces, ripped the tape, and dented the sign.
Watching Kameron opening up the entrance made Elizabeth slightly jump. Though it was only for a brief moment, the wood on the entrance looked fresh and new. The tape was obvious frail, but causing a dent into the sign itself? Exactly how strong was Kameron and what exactly was she getting herself into?
"Now I know this looks maybe, and trust me it is, but...I promise it'll be worth it." Kameron addressed.
Although there was a uneasy vibe going on around the atmosphere, Elizabeth wanted to see where this was going. Her lips started to curve upwards at the broken material around them. This was wrong, so, so wrong, but...it looked pretty cool.
Taking Kameron's hand the two stepped into the entrance. But right when they went inside Kameron stopped in his tracks. Elizabeth looked back at him with curiosity until several crystal tendrils erupted out of his back. With incredible speed the tendrils gathered up the broken wood and started putting them back to where they were. Covering the backsides, the wood was able to stay in place. Soon after the tendrils picked up the dented sign and placed it back on. With that out of the way the tendril began to retract, going right back into Kameron and disappearing.
"Whoa..." Elizabeth said in awe.
"Just in case some gets curious." Kameron replied.
Back on track the duo descended further through the entrance. The more they moved the more light began to dim, but as the light started to dim Kameron's Gemstone started illuminating a bright green glow, giving them some light.
Elizabeth increased the grip onto Kameron's hand the more they walked. Going into unknown territory would make anyone want to leave. But...she wants to see where this was going. Kameron wasn't gonna lead her to something dangerous, right? Right...?
Making it to the bottom Kameron turned his head and spotted a large metal box. Taking Elizabeth with him he raised up his right-arm as it started to get crystallized. Stretching his arm out he planted it onto the box. Narrowing his eyes small pulses of energy began to wave through his crystallized arm and travel toward the box. If Amber was here she would've taken care of this in seconds, but for Kameron, each time a wave of energy went into the box a small groan exited his mouth. It'll be worth it... It'll be so worth it.
Removing his hand he moved it to the side, gripping onto a handle and pulling it down. On cue, lights above started coming on. However the lights started to dim and flicker right until they come on completely, though the dimness and flickering remained.
With the area illuminated a gasp exited Elizabeth's mouth. On the walls there were various types of illustrations made. One was of a skull with horns and fire burning in it's eyes and mouth. Another was of a young guy with a large rainbow colored spider behind him. There was a woman covering herself and surrounded by chains with large white wings on her back. Hell, somebody even made one of a large lion jumping through a hoop of flames.
From left to right there just so many works of art in the area. Elizabeth wasn't so sure how she could even describe what she was seeing right now. They all looked amazing and being made by people made want to ask who created theses crafts. At the same time it also brought up a question going through her mind. Why was this placed sealed off?
"What do you think?" Kameron asked.
"I'm not so sure I can answer that question." Elizabeth replied. "But why is this subway shut down?"
"The trains here went out of order years ago, so this subway had to be shut down too." Kameron explained. "But it a certain...flare that most people couldn't see." Raising out his hands he turned them sideways, connecting his index fingers and thumbs together. "The open spaces, the corners, the atmosphere... I'd be such a waste not to add something to it. But that's not the best part."
"It isn't?" Elizabeth asked.
Kameron shook his head and took her hand. Without a word he guided her down the entrance and turned to the tracks. "Do you trust me?"
Elizabeth opened her mouth, but no words were made. Instead she nodded.
Bending their legs the duo jumped off of the platform and right onto the rusty tracks. Hand in hand they move on toward the unknown. Putting themselves on the tracks they slowly balanced themselves with their hands interlocked. Coming up to a corner there was a small opening with several bricks planted on the ground. Getting off of the tracks they made their through the opening.
Passing through a broke fence they spotted a large source of light in the distance. Kameron's lips curved upwards the closer they were coming up to it. Soon enough, they had arrived at their destination.
The area itself wasn't all too big, but that wasn't much of an issue. The real attraction came from their surroundings. Side by side there were illustrations made on the walls ranging from one showing nothing but black with white writing that said: No Expectations to a person showing their back and a large butterfly in front of them.
Elizabeth's attention was more on what was in front of them. There was...nothing. Yeah, absolutely nothing. Just a pure fresh wall with a million ways of giving it some good TLC.
"How come no-one did anything to this wall?" She asked.
Kameron smirked as he let go of her hand and walked up to the wall. Stopping in front of it he raised out his right arm and from his Gemstone several spheres of light began popping right out of it. Hovering in the air the spheres slowly started to coming down and right when they were about to hit the ground the began to relinquish themselves. In their place came a number of cans in a variety of different colors. Turning around he lifted his left arm and pointed back at the wall.
"I was wondering if you and I could do this one together."
Elizabeth's eyes expanded. That's... That's why it was blank?
Kameron adverted his eyes with his cheeks beginning to burn. By some miracle nobody had decided to use this wall and it was the perfect thing for him and her to use. That was...if she was up for it. Elizabeth said she wanted to get to know him, so what better way of doing that than engaging in something like this?
A rapid collection of rhythms was pounding right in Elizabeth's chest. Putting her hand there she felt every beat coming out and with each one her face burned hotter since earlier today. Saving a blank wall...just for the two of them to indulge in it had her lips stretch into a warm smile. Closing her eyes she made her way up to Kameron. Opening them she gave him a nod.
"Let's give this wall a good touch of paint."
Turning around to the cans, Kameron picked one up and snapped open the top. Giving it a good shake he stretched out his arm and pressed his finger onto the nozzle. Pouring out a pure rich dark-green he added in some pressure to the spray while moving his body to the right. Coming up to the other side Kameron halted the spray and put his can down before grabbing another. Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, Kameron made a collection of lines in dark-blue, dark-red, dark-orange, and dark-pink.
Putting down the pink can he took a few steps back, giving Elizabeth a chance to step up.
"If you need a boost, let me know."
Elizabeth nodded and grabbed a dark-yellow can. She raised her head up high and turned back to Kameron. Raising out both hands two crystal tendrils came out of his palms and slowly wrapped themselves around her waist. Lifting her off the ground he slowly brought her up to the wall. Raising out her arm she aimed her can at the wall and started spraying. Carefully getting maneuvered to where she wanted, Elizabeth started moving her arm in a myriad of areas on the wall. Even though this was her first time doing this, perfection had never entered her mind. Whatever they're making, they'll be happy with it.
Coming back to the ground Elizabeth grabbed two cans and aimed one from above and one below. Small giggles exited her mouth the more she continued to spray. Hearing her giggles brought out some small snickers out of Kameron's mouth. Although he was making sure Elizabeth wouldn't fall, watching her work brought a small smile across his lips. Best first date ever!
"Okay, Kameron. Can you put me down now?"
Hearing her words Kameron gently placed her right back the ground and unwrapped his tendrils from her waist. Once they were removed the tendrils slowly retracted themselves back into Kameron's palms and vanished. Walking up to her Kameron stood by Elizabeth's side as she put her cans down. Straightening herself the two planted their eyes onto their masterpiece. On the surface they were certain it wasn't all too special since it was just a collection of lines in various colors, but to them...it was a creation they made together.
"Asombroso." Kameron said in Spanish.
Elizabeth soon turned her head to him with a shocked expression. "Tu hablas Espanol?" She asked in Spanish.
Kameron gave her a nod. "My mother caught me when I was five."
Elizabeth gave him a smile and turned back to their masterpiece. Reaching out her hand placed itself into Kameron's as she placed her head onto his shoulder. Kameron didn't mind in the slightest and resumed to look at their work. Definitely best first date.
