Episode 16: Rebellious Whip
Kameron Evans. Fifteen-years old. The youngest among the Evans Family and the Rainbow Gems.
To him, having a normal life was out of the question. That kind of privilege was taken from him since the day he was born. It's not everyday you meet a teenager with the ability to conjure crystals out of his body or emit energy. But...the life he has...though it isn't easy, it was decent. Decent enough considering that he has two parents, three older brothers, four older sisters, a house to live in, and goes to school. Not to mention that he has seven best friends and a girlfriend. Something like that would be lucky for anyone, yet...the life he has also came with consequences.
Right now the room Kameron was in could hardly be described as a room. Right behind him the walls were covered with large scratches. From side to side there were huge cracks accompanying the scratches. Below the scratches and cracks was a small but wide bookshelf, although the wood had several dents in it and most of the nails holding it together were still sticking out. Aside from that...there weren't even any books in it! Not a single book was within the shelf; top to bottom there wasn't a book in sight. Instead the shelves were filled with rusty tools and empty soda bottles.
Next to the shelf's left were the windows. Only...the windows themselves had marks and spots scattered all over them, like the janitor hasn't clean them in years. On the far end the last window held small cracks on the bottom, spreading out far until they were met by the corners. One look at them and you could guarantee that the last thing they would need to finally shatter is a flying baseball.
Next to the windows lied a large green chalkboard with the word RULES written on it with large letters.
Below the RULES were three instructions:
1): SPEAK QUIETLY
2): NO LOUD NOISES
3): NO FIGHTING
However...right next to the instructions was a man sitting in a chair. The man himself laid back in his seat with his eyes closed and his chest pushing up and down with snores leaving his mouth.
Right in front of the man lied several teenagers doing their own thing in the middle of the room. By "doing their own thing", resulted in a boy and girl locking lips near the windows, three boys locking their eyes on their Game Packs, a small group of girls putting on some nail-polish, etc.
At the center of the room Kameron sat in a desk with his sketchpad out and a pencil placed in his hand. With his eyes locked onto his craft his ears were covered with small earphones that were connected to a wire linked to his phone. His head lightly bobbed at the music bursting into his ears while his hand swerved through the pad.
Just as he pushed his pencil up a collection of taps fell onto his shoulders. Halting his hand he slightly turned his head and his eyes soon locked onto one of his female best friends: Chelsea Park.
"Whatcha listening to?" She mouthed.
"Death Punchers." Kameron mouthed back.
"Can I listen?" Chelsea mouthed. "I'm sooo bored."
Kameron raised an eyebrow at her. Right on the desk next to him he saw her with a pencil in her hand and a small notebook. On the notebook were a few doodles of skulls and wings with cracks in them, though what got his attention were the musical notes she wrote in alongside some lyrics.
Though he wanted to enjoy his music in peace, the look in Chelsea's eye and her frown were enough to get at him. Pausing his music, Kameron pulled out one of his earphones and handed it to her.
Chelsea's lips curved up as she took her best friend's earphone and placed it into her left ear. Watching him tap his phone the music started playing again. When the music entered her ear Chelsea grinned as she started bobbing her head and turn her attention back onto her notebook. Ohh yeah... that is definitely the stuff when you are so bored out of your mind.
Even though he only had music playing out from one ear, at the very least he was still able to listen to his songs and focus on his sketches.
But...right when Kameron traced his pencil down both of his earphones were ripped right out of his and Chelsea's ears. They soon jerked their heads up to see the person responsible and got their answer.
Standing right in front of their desks stood a large, muscular pale-skinned teenager with short blonde hair and blue eyes. The guy wore a plain white shirt with a green varsity jacket with an image of a lion on the left chest and the letter Z on the right. Lastly, he wore light-blue jeans with plain white sneakers.
The guy turned his head to Kameron with a glare in his eyes a he held up the earphones.
"Hey freak. What makes you think you can talk to my girl and share your crappy music with her?" The guy asked firmly.
Kameron then narrowed his eyes at the guy while tapping a finger on his phone's screen.
"She's my best friend, Zac. I can talk to her whenever I want and share my music with her if I want to." Kameron replied.
"More importantly, Death Punchers ain't crappy, Zac. You listened to one of their songs the other day." Chelsea added.
Zac turned his head to his girl and then back at the freak. He then threw the earphones back at Kameron, making them hit his chest and fall onto his lap.
"Why do you even hang out with this freak anyway?" Zac asked.
"Because I can." Chelsea replied. "So back off or would you rather I end things between us?" Chelsea replied angerly.
Zac's glare slowly increased as he stared at his girl and then pointed his attention at Kameron. Why was she close to him anyway? She should be like that to him, not the freak. She shouldn't even be near him based on what he is, yet she chose to be next to him.
Clicking his tongue, Zac turned his head away and walked off toward another section of the room.
With him gone Chelsea closed her visible eye and let out a puff of air through her nose. Reopening it she turned her head to Kameron, her eye lightly softened. They were doing just fine earlier, and now the vibe was totally ruined.
"Ugh! I swear to the Universe, I hate it when he does that." Chelsea groaned.
"I've been called worse." Kameron replied. "But, seriously. What the hell do you see in that guy?"
Chelsea opened her mouth, but...she then closed it and turned her head away.
What does she see in Zac? What the hell does she in that jerk? That... That alone was a very, very good question. The answer...wasn't as simple to confess.
With the way Chelsea looked, Kameron raised up his phone and pulled out of his Music App before unplugging his headphones and wrapping them up before puttin them into his pocket.
RING! RING!
The bell then went off in the room, catching everyone's attention and even making the man at the desk jerk himself awake before standing up. Rubbing his eyes the man placed his attention onto the teenagers packing up their belongings and getting up from their seats.
"Have a good day, kids. Try not to get in trouble again." The man said as he fell back into his seat and went back to snoring.
Standing up from their seats, Kameron and Chelsea placed on their backpacks turned their attention to the door.
Walking out of the room they entered the halls and turned themselves to the left. Side by side neither of them said a word nor gazed upon one another, just keeping their eyes on their path ahead. The vibe in the atmosphere alone was bad enough, so there wasn't any point in making it worse than it already was.
Up ahead the duo locked their eyes onto a set of doors and pushed them open, going right through them and on the other side was the outside of school. Going doing the flight of stairs Chelsea soon raised out her hand, latching it right onto Kameron's wrist and making him stop in his tracks.
"Can I crash at your place?" She asked.
Turning his head, Kameron locked his eyes onto her. Her lips were curved downward as she adverted her eyes from linking it to his. The grip on his wrist slowly increased the more she waited for an answer.
"Actually, I wasn't planning on going home." He replied.
Turning her head, Chelsea blinked at him.
"A lot happened today and...I'm really not in the mood for any kind of lectures that are waiting for me the moment I enter the front door." Kameron added.
Chelsea then blinked at him again. Her lips...slowly curved upwards as she released her hold on his wrist. She didn't want to go home. He didn't want to go home either. Already their vibe from earlier was starting to get brought up again and there was only one thing to do to keep it going.
"Then...let's go!"
Grabbing onto his hand, Chelsea pulled Kameron with her as they dashed right through the sidewalk. The sudden burst of wind hitting his face made Kameron's lips curve upward. Sure, there were gonna be consequences for what he was about to do, but he doesn't give a damn. Chelsea doesn't give a damn either. With each step they took their grins grew into large smiles as they began picking up speed and just...run.
Soon enough the duo's speeds started to slowly decrease with every second until they reached the edge of a sidewalk. Bending themselves over they placed their hands on their knees with small breaths exiting their mouths. Straightening their backs the duo let out some giggles and sucked in some air before exhaling it out.
"Damn... I really, really needed that." Chelsea said.
"Yeah, me too." Kameron replied. Turning his head he spotted a street sign directing Breaker Avenue and Slayer Drive. "Huh. I thought we'd get farther away from school."
Shifting her head Chelsea planted her eye onto the sign he was looking at. Her lips soon frowned while she raised up her arms and crossed them onto her chest. Right as she turned her head to the other direction a certain something caught her eye.
"Dude, you gotta look at this." Chelsea said as she walked off.
Shifting his head to where she was, Kameron turned his body and followed.
Up ahead the duo found themselves at the entrance of an alleyway. Stepping inside the something from earlier was now in full view in front of the duo. Right near the end of the alleyway in front of a dumpster there was a cat. Under normal circumstances seeing animals in alleyways were common and not too much to talk about, but...this cat was unlike any others that Kameron or Chelsea had seen before. The cat was sitting right on it's butt with it's back against the dumpster. That alone wasn't crazy, but the cat also had a bag of chips in it's paws and used it's other paw to eat it with.
Step by step the duo slowly got closer and closer and closer to the cat. The cat itself just picked up another chip from the bag and shoved it right into it's mouth. It looked like the cat hasn't noticed them yet, giving the duo the opportunity to move in a bit more.
Approaching the cat, Kameron spotted another thing about it. There...was a purple Gemstone placed right onto it's chest.
"Amethyst?" Kameron said.
Hearing that name, the cat paused it's paw from gathering more chips and lifted it's head up to see Kameron and Chelsea near it. The cat blinked a few times right when the Gemstone began to glow bright purple alongside the cat itself. In no less than a few seconds the cat soon changed itself back into Amethyst.
Upon seeing Kameron, Amethyst smirked and stood up from her spot. "Yo, yo, yo. It's been a while." She added as she stepped up and wrapped her arms around Kameron's waist, putting her head next to his stomach.
Upon her actions, Kameron grinned and placed his hands onto her shoulders. Wasn't really expecting to see Amethyst today at all, but it turns out that breaking the rules would lead to something good.
Watching Kameron hug the shorter girl gave Chelsea a...very strange vibe. In all means she was no stranger to Gem Stuff considering what her best friend was capable of, yet...she just saw a cat transform into a person. That alone brought a lot of questions flowing into her mind, but it also made her smirk at how awesome Gems were.
Releasing her hold on Kameron, Amethyst took a step back and turned her head to see Chelsea. "Mmmm. And who's this Kameron? Your girlfriend?"
Kameron's eyes soon expanded as he turned to Chelsea and then back to Amethyst. His eyes then narrowed with a groan exiting his mouth.
"No. This is my best friend, Chelsea." Kameron informed. "Plus she's already taken and my girlfriend is a girl named Elizabeth."
Amethyst's lips slowly curved upwards as she locked her visible eye onto Kameron, "Ohhh. So my nephew has gotten himself a girlfriend. I guess your rizz is paying off."
Wait a minute... Nephew? Chelsea turned her head to Kameron then to Amethyst and then back to Kameron.
"Dude, this is your aunt?" Chelsea asked.
"Yeah, one of them." Kameron replied as he walked over to Amethyst's right side and placed his left hand on top of her head. "Chelsea. This is Amethyst."
Amethyst soon raised out her hand and flashed her index and middle finger, "Nice ta meetcha." Turning her head she lifted it up toward her nephew, "So, what are you two doing?"
Kameron removed his hand from Amethyst's head and walked back over to Chelsea, "We're on the run."
On the run? That...actually sounds pretty cool. Nobody to tell you what to do. Nobody getting on your cases. Just you vs the world in search of what you're longing for. That kinda life ain't for everyone, but those who chose to do it will be in for facing the unknown.
"Say... Wanna get out of the city?" Amethyst suggested.
Both Kameron and Chelsea turned to each other and then looked at Amethyst. Both teens gave her a nod which only made her smile until she intertwined her hands and stretched them forward, cracking her fingers. Removing her hands her Gemstone started to glow alongside her body, engulfing her in a bright purple light. Her arms stretched and melded together with her hands turning into a wheel. Her torso laid flat with her back turning into a long seat cushion while her head turned into a small roof and her ears stretched out before twisting themselves into bars. Lastly, her legs remained their same size, but her feet soon turned into a wheel.
"Hop on nephew and hot goth. We're going on the road." Amethyst announced.
Without a word both teens walked up to Amethyst and got on her. Stretching out his right arm, Kameron's Gemstone released a bright green glow and a small sphere of light popped right out of it. The light itself started expanding and growing until it was about the size of a basketball. The light then began fading away and in it's place was a motorcycle helmet. Twisting his arm he grabbed the helmet and gave it to Chelsea.
"Thanks, Badass." She replied while putting on the helmet.
Reaching the top of his head, Kameron lowered his goggles onto his eyes and placed his hands onto the handlebars.
"Alright! LET'S GO!" Amethyst yelled as her wheels started spinning until she went off in a burst of speed.
"WWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Storming through the streets, Amethyst screamed high into the air, passing by each and every vehicle coming up to her.
From the sidewalks many bystanders quickly turned their heads to spot two teenagers riding a purple motorcycle with a small face on it's hood. Confused expressions formed across their faces wit some even dropping their jaws at the sight of them.
"So! How was school!?" Amethyst asked through the wind.
"Crazy!" Kameron yelled. "Lion and Steven showed up out of nowhere this morning! Then Lion found a monster in an alley and we took care of it, but I got detention for skipping the rest of first period!"
"Bummer!" Amethyst yelled back. "What about you, hot goth!?"
"My boyfriend was being a total pain in the ass!" Chelsea yelled out. "Ugh! And I got detention for blowing spit-wads, so my sister took my phone from me!"
"Wow! Well, hold on kids! Where we're going, there ain't nothing stopping us from letting out some fumes!" Amethyst yelled out.
Up ahead the trio stopped a large truck with a lower ramp on it's backside and some people pulling out a dresser from it. Soon as the people moved away from the ramp Amethyst smirked and began increasing her speed, making Kameron slightly increase his grip on the handlebars and Chelsea getting a tighter grip around his waist. More and more the trio were getting closer and closer to the ramp until they rushed right onto it and burst straight into the air.
In the air it felt like time was slowing down around them. Their visions shifted to the upper-skies filled with clouds and avians soaring through the open air to the lower-grounds with bystanders watching them from above. The surge of air hitting their bodies, the blood pumping through Kameron and Chelsea by the second, and just...the sense of joy passing in the their minds brought them a type of happiness that couldn't be described, even if they want to.
Coming down on the ground the trio gained an extra burst of momentum as soon as they made contact with the concrete, giving them an extra source of speed.
Making a quick turn to the right the trio raised up their head and spotted a large tunnel coming up in the distance. Next to the tunnel there was a large white sign saying: Exit Destiny City.
Picking up speed the trio went straight toward the tunnel and made their way inside. Upon entry they slowly descended down until the road brought them back upright. Without the setting sun's light their surroundings were covered in darkness, but from both sides of the tunnel laid a long row of orange lights shining brightly.
Without being surrounded by buildings or vehicles the atmosphere felt...different. Almost like...they were the only ones around. Only having each other with nothing but the sound of wheels going through the road.
Up ahead the trio saw a small ball of light at the end of the tunnel. Shutting their eyes as they were getting closer to it the trio quickly opened their eyes back up.
Chelsea's visible eye started to expand to the new surroundings around her. From left to right there was...grass. Yeah, just huge and huge piles of grass around the long thin road. Up high the skies were dark orange with the sun slowly going down on the horizon. Turning her head she spotted the tunnel they just came out of, but way, way in the distance she saw the scope of Destiny City. Little by little she was getting farther and farther away from her home, yet not a ounce of sadness entered her mind. Instead, she slowly increased her hold on Kameron and turned her head back to the road.
Coming up in the distance the trio saw a railroad signal sign on the right side of the road. The sign itself was blinking red with a rhythm of a bell going off while a long striped bar was lowered down. To their left a train was coming in the distance carrying large opened boxcars.
"Hey guys! Wanna catch the train?" Amethyst asked.
Kameron and Chelsea turned their heads to one another until they gave each other a nod and placed their attention back onto the train.
Picking up speed Amethyst locked her eyes onto the train with a smirk across her lips. Pulling his hand back Kameron pushed his hand forward, firing off a crystal shard from his palm. Exiting his palm the crystal shard rotated through the air until it slowly started to fall and impact the ground. As soon as it hit the ground the shard stated to grow longer and spread it's sides apart until they reached the edge of the grass. Reaching up to the crystals the trio went on top of it, ascending up high until they reached the edge and jumped right off.
Airborne the trio placed their eyes onto the open boxcar. As they were airborne Amethyst's body started to glow bright purple and reverted back to her original form, making Kameron release his hold on her. His eyes expanded at his aunt's actions, making his turn his attention onto Chelsea, whom was still holding onto his waist. Slowly descending into the boxcar Kameron placed his hands onto Chelsea's, forcefully removing them from his waist before he turned around and wrapped his arms around her body, pushing it closer to his.
Getting into the boxcar, Amethyst landed right on it and bent down onto one knee with one hand touching the metal surface. Turning her head she saw her nephew and his friend crash onto the surface before they started rolling over and hitting a small stack of hay.
Small groans exited Kameron's mouth as he slowly opened his eyes and took notice of Chelsea placed on top of him. Small groans exited her mouth too as she placed both hands onto Kameron's chest while he loosened his hold on her so she sit up. Opening her visible eye she looked down to see Kameron and saw the position they were in. Raising up her hands she placed them onto her helmet and removed it, giving Kameron a small grin.
"You know, if we were three years older I wouldn't mind giving you a reward for protecting me." Chelsea said with a sly voice.
Kameron blinked at her and as he absorbed her words into his mind his cheeks started to get a lot warmer.
"Please get off." Kameron replied, turned his head to the side.
Chelsea hummed and lifted her eye to the roof of the boxcar.
"I could. That is..." Chelsea said as she lowered her upper-body until her face got dangerously close to Kameron's. "Unless you like this?"
Turning his head, he locked his eyes on her singular one. The moment he did his cheeks got a lot warmer by the second. Any guy would like the position he was in, that is...if they were single. Which Kameron wasn't.
"Please." Kameron said softly. "I don't want this."
Giving him another hum, Chelsea smirked and removed herself from him. Standing up she raised out her free hand to him, making Kameron reach out and taking so she could help him up. Removing their hands Chelsea turned hers into a fist and tapped it onto Kameron's shoulder.
The burning sensation on his cheeks started to cooldown, but once he turned his attention onto his aunt she smirked at him and fluttered her visible eye. Kameron groaned and walked over to the edge of the opened boxcar before getting down and taking a seat with his legs hanging over the edge.
Coming up to him, Chelsea sat down right next to him with Amethyst coming over to Kameron's other side and taking her seat next to him. Lifting their heads the trio placed their gazes onto the sun in the distance going further and further into the horizon. The skies began to get darker and darker; changing from red and orange to a darker shade of blue.
"So... What a rush, huh?" Amethyst said, turning to Kameron.
"Yeah. It sure was." Kameron replied.
"Ditto." Chelsea added.
Sucking in some air into his nose, Kameron slowly exhaled it out. Honestly, with what they just went through, that kinda feeling was just...so indescribable.
"Amethyst. What were you doing in Destiny City?" Kameron asked.
His aunt shrugged as she looked at the distance. "Just wanted some time to myself. Beach City ain't bad, but I like expanding my horizons. Plus with how big your home is, it's like filled with so many places I can just chill without Pearl or Garnet getting on my case."
"I can understand that." Chelsea added. "You don't want to go home when you've got shit on your mind, and even if you have someone to talk you, would they really understand or just pretend they do just to get on your good side?"
Amethyst turned her head to Chelsea and blinked at her. She then turned to Kameron as her lips smirked.
"I like her, Kam." Amethyst said. "However, Beach City isn't my home."
Kameron then blinked at his aunt. "It isn't?"
Amethyst shook her head. Her visible eye then expanded at she stood up.
"Wanna know where I really came from?"
Getting off of the train the trio landed right onto the field of grass. Turning her body, Amethyst soon took off running with Kameron and Chelsea not far behind.
As they were running Kameron thought back to what Amethyst said on the train. His aunt was gonna show him where she came from. She's not originally from Beach City, which made sense considering that she was centuries old. Neither his family or the Crystal Gems originated from Earth, that made sense as well, though where Gems came from was never fully explained to him. All that he was told from the beginning was that they came from a far, far away place. Where was it? What was the place called? He wasn't given an answer.
Straight ahead Kameron's pupils started to dilate.
In the distance there was huge area with gray clouds hovering above it. Only...it wasn't raining. The closer they were getting the more Kameron and Chelsea were able to see it. Amethyst soon stopped in her tracks, making the teens behind her do the same as they arrived at their destination. The whole area was...gray. More than that, from left to right there were large stone walls with curved holes in them. Most noticeably, there were these...strange machines placed onto the holed walls.
Some had pillar-esque designs with large red sphere-shaped glass on top and mechanical legs on the bottom. Some had robotic-esque appearances with the red sphere-shaped placed onto their backs and their arms held large drills on them. And some were large machines with humongous drills attached to their fronts and several red sphere-shaped glasses placed on their tops.
"What is this place?" Chelsea asked.
"This, kids, is the Kindergarten." Amethyst said as she started walking. "C'mon, I'll show you around."
Without a word the teens turned their heads to one another and placed their attention onto Amethyst before catching up to her.
Step by step the trio shifted their eyes to their surroundings. Honestly, the atmosphere itself felt...kinda bleak. Surrounded by rock with literal holes in them, old, maybe ancient machines covered in rust, it just looked a bit unsettling.
"So...Amethyst. This is where you came from?" Chelsea asked.
"Yep." Amethyst replied, though the tone in her voice had changed. She sounded casual when introducing them to this place, but...now she sounded serious. "This is my home. Or you could say it's my first home before Rose found me and brought me into the fam."
Rose...? Aunt Rose... Just hearing her name brought some weight onto Kameron's mind alongside Amethyst's. This...was where Aunt Rose found Amethyst.
"Who's Rose?" Chelsea asked, turning her head to Kameron.
Kameron adverted his head away from his best friend, but as he turned it to her his lips curved down.
"She's...my other aunt. But...she's not around anymore." Kameron replied.
Chelsea tilted her head at him. Not around anymore? The more she took in those words the more her visible eye started to expand as to what he was saying.
"Oh... Sorry, dude. Didn't mean to bring up a touchy subject." Chelsea said, bringing up her hand and scratching the back of her head.
Right when Kameron opened his mouth to speak Amethyst let out a gasp, making the two teens turn to her direction.
"Yo, neph and hot goth, come check this out." Amethyst said, running over to wall.
Her tone of voice changed like clockwork, but regardless of that, the teens jogged over to her and spotted her near one of the holes.
"Check it out. This is the hole I was born from." Amethyst said, raising her arms to the hole.
"Wait, what?" Kameron replied, taking a step forward.
"Yup. Check it, it's me siiiiiizzzzzzzeeeeeee." Amethyst said as she put her back to the hole and slid right into it. Sucking in some air she then exhaled it out of her mouth while laying back at the end of the hole. "Ah, it still has that awesome hole smell."
Getting down on one knee both Kameron and Chelsea titled their heads to see Amethyst within her...hole.
"You...were born from this hole?" Kameron asked.
"Yep. One day just *pop* right hole of this hole." Amethyst replied.
Lifting his head, Kameron stood back up and locked his eyes onto the holes above Amethyst. If Amethyst was born out of this hole then...that means-
"Kameron Eduardo Evans."
Hearing his full name getting called out broke Kameron out of his train of thought and made him and Chelsea turn around. Right behind them stood Amber and Charoite, only Amber had her arms crossed with narrowed eyes while Charoite had a hand on her hip with her visible eye narrowed.
Coming out of her hole Amethyst looked out to see who was there, only to narrow her visible eye at both girls standing near them.
"Great. Here comes the fun police." Amethyst said with a deflated voice.
"Ah heard on mah radio 'bout mah brother and his friend ridin' on a purple bike wit a face on it. Didn't know ya be around, Amy, so ah made it my business ta follow ya." Amber replied firmly. "Didn't expect ya'll ta come here of all places."
"I came along because I saw guys storming the streets and I was worried." Charoite added as she stepped forward and turned her head to Amethyst. "Amy. What the hell were you thinking bringing our brother and his friend to Kindergarten?"
Amethyst groaned and kicked a rock to the side. "I wanted to show my nephew where my home was."
Both Amber and Charoite looked at their brother and then looked at Amethyst.
"How much did ya tell'em?" Amber asked.
Amethyst scoffed and walked up to the sister, glaring at the both of them.
"None of your business. Besides, didn't you all tell him about this place?" Amethyst asked firmly.
"That's not the point here, Amethyst." Charoite replied.
Amethyst then blinked and turned herself back to her nephew, seeing his confused expression before looking back at the girls. He...doesn't know?
"He doesn't know? You never told him?" Amethyst said.
Both girls soon turned to their brother, seeing the confusion on him and Chelsea.
"That don't matter. What matters is that we're goin' home, right now." Amber replied, walking up to her brother and grabbing their wrists.
"Hey, back off!" Chelsea yelled, ripping her arm away from Amber. "I'm not going anywhere unless I want to."
"Too bad." Amber said firmly. "Yer comin' with me and ah'm having a talk wit yer ma about this too."
Chelsea's visible eye slowly expanded on that, but then she narrowed her eye and clenched her teeth. The last she she wants is a lecture from her mom.
Kameron then ripped his arm from his sister's grasp, making her gasp and narrow her eyes at him, only to see his narrowed eyes too.
"We're not going anywhere until you explain what the hell this place is." Kameron said angerly.
"This ain't the time." Amber replied, stepping up to her brother.
"Make time." Kameron replied, stepping up to his sister.
Both of them got dangerously close to each other, locking their eyes onto one another. Sparks started crackling through Amber's eyes the more she stared at her brother. Disobey her would be the last thing he would ever do and yet here he was doing it. The more they stared at each other the more electricity crackled in her eyes with sparks crackling around her knuckles.
"Kameron." Charoite said softly, approaching the two. "We never wanted you to see this place. We'll explain what this place is, but...please come home."
Kameron never turned to Charoite, only keeping his eyes on Amber as his pupils started glowing cyan. Who had the advantage in the area was pretty clear, but with every second passing the tension between the siblings grew more and more.
Amethyst stood on the side with her arms crossed. It's her business to bring whoever she wants to to where she came from. Nobody has the right to decide that except her. And even worse, it looked like the Rainbows hadn't even told Kameron about this place. Granted, Steven doesn't know about this place yet either, but she thought he would've known about it.
GGGGRRRRAAAHHHHHH!
At the sound of that wail everyone stopped with what they were doing and turned to it's direction. Coming out from one of the machine stood a large yellow-orange creature with two crooked spikes piercing from it's shoulders. The creature had bright yellow eyes and razor sharp teeth and huge arms with zigzags on them. It's torso was large and thick with huge legs just below it. Lastly, there was a yellow-orange Gemstone placed right on it's right pectoral muscle.
"Chelsea. Hide somewhere." Kameron called out.
"Don't need to tell me twice." Chelsea replied as she turned around and spotted a large rock before running over to it.
Turning their attention onto the creature, Kameron, Amber, Charoite, and Amethyst took a step forward and narrowed their eyes at it.
The creature got down on it's knees as crackles of electricity started circling it's body. Digging it's claws into the ground the creature opened it's maw and the inside of it's mouth began to glow yellow until...
KABOOM!
It shot off a humongous beam of electric energy right at the Gems.
Without any time to react, Kameron dashed straight toward the beam while his hands were getting covered by crystals. Pulling his arms back he then shot them forward, having them collide with the beam.
Upon impact Kameron gritted his teeth while digging his feet right into the ground. Little by little the energy was shrinking in size and flow right into his crystal covered hands. Although Kameron gritted his teeth even hard as his feet was digging through the ground, slightly pushing him back. That mattered little to him since the only thing on his mind was the safety of Chelsea and his family.
Soon...the energy beam shrunk so much until it ultimately disappeared. Once it did Kameron's body fell forward, yet he stuck out his foot and stomped it onto the ground, keeping himself from falling. Lowering his hands, heavy breaths exited his mouth while eyes were kept on the creature.
"Damn..." Amethyst whispered to herself. "I knew my nephew was tough, but...I didn't think he'd swallow all of that."
"Amethyst!" Kameron called out. "Let's kick it's ass!"
Hearing her name and being asked to do some ass kicking brought a smile across Amethyst's lips. Placing a hand onto her chest her Gemstone glowed as she summoned out her whip.
"You took the words right out of my mouth, nephew." Amethyst replied.
From his right hand a long crystal tendril slithered out of Kameron's palm. Closing his right hand electricity crackled around the whip, making Kameron lift it up high into the air and bringing it right back down.
THWBOOM!
Like the sound of thunder drumming through the clouds, Kameron's whip cracked among the ground, sending straight at his enemy.
Without being given enough time to react, the creature got pushed back at the shockwave sent toward it. Reaching it's hands out it clawed into the dirt and lifted it's head up only to see Amethyst coming right at it with her foot out.
POW!
The creature grunted at the impact just as Amethyst jumped right into the air and thwipped her whip at one of it's spikes. Pushing herself forward she started spinning round, and round, and round the creature, keeping a good grip on her whip. The more she spun the more her whip wrapped itself around the beast until she came right back down and grappled her whip with her other hand, increasing her hold on it.
The creature growled and snarled as it tried breaking free with crackles of electricity surrounding it. Amethyst smirked at it and brought her whip up bed thwacking it, send a surge of purple fire straight at her prey.
POOF!
On contact the fire immediately surrounded the beast, engulfing it in it's flames until it's whole body was completely destroyed, leaving only it's Gemstone remaining.
Coming up to it Amethyst picked up the Gemstone and put it into a bubble before tapping it's top, sending it away.
"Oh yeah! Another day, another monster in a bubble." Amethyst cheered, dismissing her weapon.
AAAAHHHH!
Turning their heads, everyone took notice of an indigo creature with long tendrils and large wings on it's back. The creature had sharp teeth on top of it's head and a single eye on the bottom. Lastly, there was an indigo Gemstone placed on the center of it's head. More over, Chelsea was encased in it's tendrils while hovering up in the air.
"Chelsea!" Kameron yelled.
Without a word, Amber reach out to her Gemstone and pulled out revolver. Raising it up she pointed it right at the creature.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Flicking at the trigger, small volts of electricity were shot out.
Coming up to the creature each shot just...passed right through it and impacted the rocks behind it, send piles of pebbles to the ground.
"Damnnit!" Amber cursed.
"I got this!" Charoite replied as she stormed forward.
With her arms back she leaped into the air, stepping onto a few large rocks in the process before bursting upwards toward the creature. With it's remaining tendrils it shot them right at Charoite, but...each one passed through her without ever making any contact. Coming in closer to Chelsea, Charoite widened out her arms, wrapping them around the goth teen and pushing it away from the creature while keeping her close.
Coming down onto the ground, Charoite's feet swiftly twisted and made her turn around with Chelsea in her arms.
"You okay?" Charoite asked.
"Y-Yeah. Thanks." Chelsea replied, receiving a nod.
With his friend safe, Kameron rushed up to the monster and thwacked his whip toward it. Piercing through the air the whip aimed itself right onto the Gemstone of the creature.
POOF!
In just a fraction of a second a surge of electricity burst all around the monster, making it twist and contort it's body until it exploded in an indigo explosion while it's Gemstone began to fall. Pulling his whip back, Kameron thwacked it again, catching the Gemstone and reeling it back until it was in his hand. Putting it into a bubble he tapped it's top, making it disappear before putting his attention onto Chelsea.
Absorbing the crystals into his arms and hand he jogged up to her with a worried expression.
"You okay?" Kameron asked.
"Yeah, I'm alright. Especially since I got to see Badass put a throwdown on some monsters." Chelsea replied with a smirk.
Without a word, Kameron walked up to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and pushing her toward his body.
A gasp exited Chelsea's lips. But she then smirked and returned his affection. A badass? Yes. An awesome best friend? Of course. But...these...little things...were nice too. Sometimes.
"Alright you two. Can we go home now?" Charoite asked.
Separating themselves, the teens looked at her and...even though part of them wanted to stay, that went away due to the monsters showing up. So they gave her a nod.
"We're still in trouble, aren't we?" Kameron asked, turning to Amber.
"Ya. Ya are." Amber replied.
Kameron groaned a little, but he'd seen this come the moment he wanted to leave the city.
"Do you want us to take you home, Amethyst?" Kameron asked.
Amethyst shook her head. "Nah, I'll find my way back. Nice hanging with you, nep. Be seein' ya." She added as she turned around and turned into a cheetah before storming off.
End Of Episode 16.
Apologize for the delay. Life and procrastination have taken me, but I managed to fight through it.
Now I wanted to introduce the Kindergarten earlier to add some more set ups. Also made this a bit longer for Amethyst. She isn't one of my favorite characters, but I still like her none the less.
See you all soon. Hope you've enjoyed this.
