Episode 24: In The Deep

Scarlett POV

One Year Ago

RING! RING! RING! RING! RING!

At the sound of the bell I started reaching out for my books and putting them away in my backpack. Once the last book got in I took in some air and exhaled it out of my nose. *sigh* Seriously, I didn't think math was gonna be this hard.

"Reminder, everyone." The teacher announced. "There will be a test coming Friday, so make sure you study up."

I rolled my eyes and stood up before grabbing by backpack and putting it on.

Turning my body I followed the others out the door and into the hallway. Into the crowd I swayed my body from one side to the other, making sure I didn't step on anyone's foot or bump into them. Keeping my eyes forward I turned a corner and kept going. Slightly turning my head I pushed myself to the side and walked up to my locker. Grabbing the lock I entered the combination and opened it up.

Inside my locker I saw the mirror I placed and my lips lightly stretched upwards. Wow... I mean, I've looked at my reflection before getting ready this morning, but...getting a second look really made me take a moment to take it all in.

Hmph. I'm no longer the little girl mom and dad see. But...I shouldn't let this get to my head. I'm not there yet, just three more years. I'll enjoy them for as long as I can.

Letting out a sigh I took off my backpack and put the things I didn't need now away while taking the stuff I needed for next period. Putting them into my backpack I put it back on and took one last look at my reflection. I gave myself a nod and grinned.

'Make the best out of it.' I thought to myself.

"Uh... Excuse me?"

A light gasp exited my lips. I've never heard that voice before. Closing my locker door I turned my head and saw where the voice was coming from. Standing near me was a guy with green hair and what caught my attention about him was his eyes. His right eye was green while his left was crystal blue. Cool.

"Hi. You need something from me?" I asked.

The guy shook his head and adverted his eyes. With his left hand he scratched the back of his head before turning his eyes back onto me. As he did his cheeks started turning red. Hmm... Now I'm more curious to what he wanted to talk to me about.

"I'm Kameron. And...um..." He said, stuttering his words. "This is awkward. You don't know me and I don't want to make things weird between us, so...here." He added, raising up his right arm.

Turning my eyes onto it I noticed a small red box in his palm. "You wanted to give me a present?" I asked.

Kameron nodded. "This was for someone else, but...I couldn't face them. And I heard today was your birthday."

Another gasp exited my lips. I placed a hand onto chest. I took the box with my other hand and opened it. I gasped again, locking my eyes onto what was inside. A silver necklace with a shiny green crystal at it's center.

"Kameron, this...this is beautiful." I said, barely able to talk.

"Thank you." He replied. "I made it myself. And if it's not too much trouble, can we be friends?"

I raised up my head and locked my eyes onto him. He...he made this? I so wanted to ask him how, but...what pulled at my heartstrings was him asking to be my friend. Aww... Now how am I gonna say no to that?

"Sure. I'd like that." I replied.

He then smiled at me. That smile...pulled onto my heart even more.

"I hate to cut this short, but I gotta get to class." Kameron said.

I blinked at him and remembered where we were. I then nodded, "Me too. Let's exchange numbers at the end of the day."

"Sure." Kameron said before walking away.

Putting the box into my small backpack slot I began heading to class. Another new friend... Wonder what he's all about?

Present Time

Up above the skies were clear with no clouds in sight. A small cool breeze flowed right on by, giving us some natural cooling from the heat of the sun. *sigh* Honestly, it's days like this that really brightens me up. Though...the sun's rays couldn't make me forget the pain within my heart.

*whistle sounds*

My body jolted at the whistle going off. Turning my head I directed my attention to the person near me and the girls. She was a dark-skinned woman with short brown hair, brown eyes, and wore a white cap on her head. She also wore a white-collared shirt with black shorts and white and black shoes. Taking the whistle out of her mouth she approached us and stopped in place, gazing at us with her narrowed eyes.

"Listen up, girls! I, Coach Smiley, am proud of you all for making it this far. July, the Dewey Puffins have been invited to compete in the Aqua Olympics. We will do the best that we can and show everyone what we are made of. We are not aiming for number one. I am not expecting any of us to get that far. If we do, it'll be a miracle. For now, show me how much you all got. Understand?" The Coach said.

"Yes, ma'am." We all replied.

She gave us a nod. "Good. Now, I'm gonna go check on the boys on the track. You girls don't leave until I get back, and the pool is for swimming practice, not for partying."

The other girls pouted and groaned. I couldn't blame them. Right in front us stood a huge pool just tempting us to get in it and chill. But...we gotta follow the rules or not get in at all.

Turning around Coach Smiley walked away and walked right out of the gate, leaving us to the pool.

"You ready?"

I turned my head to Elizabeth standing next to me. I smiled and nodded before we and the rest of the girls walked over to the left of the pool.

"Everyone!" Sadie announced, making us turn to her. "I think the first thing we should practice should be holding our breaths." She suggested.

The rest of the girls looked at her, then each other, then back to Sadie. Most of them shrugged while the others crossed their arms.

"Why? We're already good at that?" Girl#1 asked.

"Plus, who put you in charge? Coach Smiley didn't say anything about that." Girl#2 added.

Sadie groaned and narrowed her eyes. Great...the stuck-ups.

Just as I attempted to step up to say something, Elizabeth stepped up instead, pointing daggers at the duo.

"Just because we got good at it doesn't mean we have to stop practicing it." Elizabeth said strongly. "I'm sure the other teams are constantly practicing their moves to get prepared. We've got to be prepared too."

Girl#2 clicked her tongue and adverted her eyes away. "Coach said we're not aiming for the top. Besides, we'll be fine."

Elizabeth shook her head. "We've gotta practice."

Girl#1 huffed and approached Elizabeth. They both locked eyes while the others around us started muttering and whispering. I wasn't too sure when the Coach would come back, but I knew that she wouldn't be too happy seeing all of us standing around and dry. So...it looks like I'm gonna have to play my trump card. I don't like using it often, but in this case I'm gonna have to.

"How about we make a bet?" I said out loud, gaining everyone's attention.

Girl#1 turned her attention on me, giving me a curious expression. "What kind of bet?"

I turned my body and pointed at the pool, "You and me. Five laps while holding our breaths. First one to finish wins."

Girl#1 hummed and turned her head to Girl#2. Girl#2 smiled wickedly and nodded. Girl#1 then turned her head to me.

"Game on. But...why don't we raise the stakes a little." Girl#1 said.

I raised an eyebrow at her, "What do you have in mind?"

Girl#1 turned her head to Elizabeth and then back to me. "Winner gets to go on a date with Kameron Evans."

My eyes widened at her words. I turned to Elizabeth and for a split second her pupils dilated before she gave Girl#1 the harshest glare I've ever seen her form. It's one thing to not practice like we're suppose to, but it's another to want to date someone else's boyfriend.

"Why do you want to date Kameron?" Elizabeth asked firmly.

Girl#1 shrugged, "I've heard about what happened between Kameron and Zac. Honestly, I was a bit taken back from what I heard, but I was impressed too. I didn't really think much of him and thought he was a freak, but hearing him stand up to the former captain of the Dewey Doves took my breath away." Girl#1 then turned to Elizabeth, "Have you ever considered sharing him? I totally want to be his girl too."

Me and Elizabeth blinked at Girl#1. What the hell was she talking about? Sharing Kameron? Ugh, was she seriously suggesting that? There was no way I nor Elizabeth would agree to that! Kameron wouldn't agree to that either. Sure, he's a guy, but from how nervous he was to ask out Elizabeth, one girl is enough. This isn't an anime where the mc gets a plethora of girls to love.

"Deal." Elizabeth announced.

I gasped alongside the other girls as well all turned to Elizabeth.

"Liz. I don't think that's-" I attempted to reply, but Elizabeth raised up her hand, silencing me.

Elizabeth shook her head, "I knew that eventually other girls would want Kameron too. That's been lingering in the back of my head when I chose to date him." She then raised up her hand and placed it onto her chest, "It doesn't bother me for him to have female friends. It doesn't bother me when he talks to other girls. But...what does bother me is those that want to be with him for other reasons rather than being genuine."

Elizabeth then turned to me, "Scarlett. Take her down."

I blinked at her twice. Was...was she serious? Honestly, I've only seen Kameron as a friend. He is cute, but I've never once saw as anything more than that. Plus I just broke up with Zac, so I'm not really in the mood to go on dates right now. ...Closing my eyes I took a breath and reopened them, putting my attention onto Girl#1. Well...I started this, so I'll finish it.

"Sadie. Can you be referee?" I asked.

Sadie nodded as me and Girl#1 approached the pool, standing on opposite sides. The rest of the girls gathered onto the sides of the pool, watching me and my opponent carefully.

Raising up my hand I lowered my goggles onto my eyes before lifting both of my arms and clapping my hands together.

"GO!" Sadie yelled.

At the sound of her voice I quickly bent my knees and pushed myself forward. Entering the cool water my body started to shiver, but I paid no mind to it and began rotating my arms. My mouth was closed shut as was my nose while I kept rotating my arms and kicking my feet. Reaching the other side of the pool I quickly flipped myself around and gave my arms a big flap. Soaring through the water I increased the tension in my legs, pushing me even further.

Coming up to the opposite side of the pool again I flipped myself once more, bursting toward the other side. However, my cheeks started puffing up and my eyes started to widened. Oh no... I rapidly shook my head and kept going. Just a little more... I just need to hold on a little more.

Coming back to the other side I quickly shifted my body around and gave myself a few flaps. Great... my strength was lowering and I could feel my body tensing up by the second. Sooner or later I'm gonna need to catch my breath. Just a little more...

Reaching the opposite side one last time I pushed myself back and rotated my arms while kicking my legs with the amount of strength I had left. My eyes started to dilate and my cheeks grew even bigger. Raising my head up a little I saw other the end-game and reached out for it.

PUWAH!

Lifting my head out of the water I opened my mouth, letting out large gasps of air. Reaching for my goggles I took my goggles off and started coughing a bit while laying my arms onto the warm surface. Some extra breaths exited my mouth while I turned to my opponent. Girl#1 was coughing up a storm with Girl#2 softly rubbing her back.

"The winner is Scarlett!" Sadie announced.

The other girls started cheering for me. I looked up and saw Elizabeth standing in front of me. She lifted out her hand to me and I took it without a second thought, having her pull me out of the water. As soon as managed to stand Elizabeth wrapped her arms around me, pulling me into a hug.

"You were amazing." Elizabeth said.

"Thanks." I replied, catching my breath. "But...now I gotta hold up my end of the deal."

"Okay." Elizabeth said, ending the hug to look at me. "I'll talk to Kameron about this. And this doesn't mean we'll stop being friends."

"You're not mad?" I replied.

Elizabeth shook her head. "I'm not the jealous type. Besides, Kameron would be better for you than Zac." She added, giving me a wink.

I felt my cheeks getting warm. I'm not sure if this is a jackpot or coincidence, but...looks like I'm gonna have a very, very awkward weekend.

A sigh exited my mouth. I hummed while the nice warm water poured and sprayed onto me.

Okay... Okay... This...is so gonna be awkward. Ugh, why did I have to gamble? Sometimes I get lucky and other times...unlucky. I mean, we shouldn't treat it like a date. Yeah. Yeah, it's not a date, it's hanging out. Just. Hanging. Out. I mean, we've hung out when the opportunity comes up, and not once have we ever treated it like a date. So...why is this any different?

Lowering my head I raised out my hand and reached for the knob, lowering it and shutting off the water. Once it was off I opened up the curtains and slowly lifted my leg so my foot would touch the carpet mat below. Picking up my other leg I then placed it onto the mat and turned my attention onto my now mist-covered mirror. Walking up to it I swiped across, gazing at my reflection.

'We've known each other for a year now. Don't ruin what we have.' I thought to myself.

The more I thought about it the more rhythms in my chest continued to go off. What is wrong with me?

Shaking my head I grabbed the towel on the counter and started drying off. Opening up my bathroom door I entered my bedroom. Coming up to my bed I put my eyes onto my phone hooked into the charger. Tapping the screen I noticed a new message and opened it.

[Kameron]: I'm heading over. Be there soon.

I swallowed some spit. Okay... time to get dressed.

Walking over to my drawers I got down on my knees and opened up the bottom. Within it lied a large selection of jeans. Reaching my hand out I picked out a pair and closed the drawer. Next came the second-top drawer, filled with an array of shirts. Turning my eyes from left to right I spotted one I wanted to wear and picked it out. Lastly came the top drawer, containing my bras and underwear. Not really too hard to select, so I just some black ones and closed the last drawer.

In no time wasted I got dressed without wasting a minute. Turning around I walked over to my large mirror in the corner. Gazing at my reflection I was wearing light-blue jeans with a few tears around the thighs and lower ends and a pure white T-shirt with a symbol of a red spider at it's center. Hmm... Classic.

Putting on some socks and my red sneakers, I took my phone off the charger and put it in my pocket. Next to the charger was my necklace. Picking it up my eyes locked onto the green crystal. Raising it to my face I placed it onto my lips, kissing it. Pulling it away I then placed it on. Now...just one last thing to do.

Heading downstairs I turned my body and headed straight toward the kitchen. Once I got there I saw two familiar people. Mom was wearing a pink robe wrapped tightly around her body while she poured some coffee into her mug. At the table I saw a light-skinned middle-aged man with short brown hair and teal eyes. He held some aftershave with only three short hairs remaining on his chin. He wore a teal-colored robe, only his was opened and showed his white tank-top. Below were a plaid set of boxers and teal-colored slippers.

"Good morning." I announced.

Hearing my voice my mom and the guy turned to me. He smiled and got up from his chair, "There's my little girl." He added, approaching me and hugging me.

"Daaaad." I whined.

He then released me, just before mom stepped in and hugged me. She eventually released and placed her hands on my shoulders.

"So... When's Kameron coming?" Mom asked.

I opened my mouth to answer, but I came up short to speak.

DING! DONG!

Mom gasped at the doorbell ringing and practically skipped over to it. *sigh* Here we go again.

I watched her open it up and right on the other side of the door was one of the greatest guys I've ever met: Kameron Evans.

"KAMERON!" Mom squealed as she then wrapped him in her arms and...put his head in her chest...

Wow... Just...wow. Out of everything I've seen my mom has done, this...is the only that really, really bothers me the most. My whole face was already feeling really warm just by looking at this.

"MOM!" I yelled.

She turned to me while keeping Kameron where he was.

"Can you please stop doing that every time Kameron comes over?" I asked.

My mom...puffed up her cheeks and turned her head away. "No. I don't see him often and I want to give him as much affection as I can." She replied, swaying her body and looking down at Kameron. "You worry me so much, Kameron. I can't stand the thought of you going out and facing those monsters on your own."

"I have to fight them." Kameron replied through my mom's bosom.

Ugh...

"*chuckling* Okay, honey. I think Kameron's had enough affection." Dad said.

Mom pouted, but she released Kameron from her grasp.

Standing up straight Kameron's face was as red as a chili. Geez, does mom really have to hug him like that?

"Umm... So...uh, it's nice to see you again, Mr. and Mrs. Jane." Kameron said, adverting his eyes and rubbing the back of his head.

Dad soon approached Kameron and narrowed his eyes at him.

"Take good care of our girl." Dad said firmly.

Kameron turned to him and nodded, "I will."

Dad hummed. He then placed a hand onto Kameron's shoulder. "Treat her well. Anything happens to her, you and I are gonna have a long talk, understand?"

Kameron nodded.

Dad soon released his hand and turned to me, "Alright. You two can go now."

"Actually, Kameron is forgetting something." Mom pointed out.

Me and Kameron looked at mom with confusion. Then just when I was about to ask she pushed her head forward, pecking Kameron's cheek. When she retracted her head Kameron's face turned into a chili pepper again. I...couldn't take another moment of this. Enough was enough.

"Okay, well we'll be going now. Be back soon. bye!" I said as quickly as I could while walking up to Kameron, grabbing his hand, and heading out the door.

Going down the steps we made our way to the sidewalk and started walking down the street. Ugh! Seriously, mom! Every. Single. Time. I get it, but that back there was just too much!

"Scarlett."

Hearing my name getting called I stopped in my tracks and turned my head to Kameron, who gave me a concern look. I looked down to see his hand in mine. And the cherry on top was the bystanders giving us weird looks as they passed us by. Removing my hand from his I turned away.

"Sorry." I replied.

"Not your fault." Kameron said. "Besides, there's something I wanna show you."

I turned back to him and tilted my head. Kameron then pulled out of his pocket his Warp Whistle. He then raised out his other hand to me. On one hand, going through another warping experience didn't really feel all that good. But on the other, I wondered where he was gonna take me. Only one way to find out. I gave Kameron my hand just as he blew into his whistle, engulfing us in light again.

Hmm...

This...this wasn't exactly what I thought it would be, but...in some weird way, I needed this.

Step after step I turned my head from one direction to the next. From left to right were trees. That's right, huge tall trees standing strong. Down below was nothing but grass, with small ants scurrying through the blades. The sun up above still shined it's light on us, radiating it's gentle warmth.

For a while we haven't seen anybody around. Part of me felt like a huge load just got lifted off my shoulders. I haven't been out of the city often and it felt pretty good getting away from it. Being a city girl has benefits, but being out in the wild just...felt better. The other part of me was a little worried. The world isn't always a nice place and are filled with psychopaths or thugs. But I'm sure Kameron can handle it. And if he needs help I'll be there.

"We're almost there." Kameron said next to me.

"Where did you find a place like this?" I asked.

"I was out on a mission here and it took a lot out of me. So I stayed a while and took a liking to the place. Ever since it's been my second secret place." Kameron replied.

I couldn't argue with that. Out in the open, surrounded by trees, and away from everybody. I'd wanna come here too just to get away from it all.

"Hey, how's Ronaldo doing?" I asked.

Kameron's eyes widened at my question until he slowly narrowed.

"He's...still upset." Kameron replied. "I'm glad he's still coming to school, but...he hasn't been the same since. He hasn't posted anything on his blog recently."

I frowned at his response. I'm sure Kameron and Lars didn't mean what they told him, but...I missed the Ronaldo I know. Yeah, he's weird, no doubt about it, but that's what makes him charming. Everyone is weird in their own way and his weirdness is beyond normal. Whenever I see him he's always quiet. I've left alone to give him space, but next time I see help I'll help him out of this funk.

"We're here." Kameron said.

Stopping in my tracks I turned to him and saw a large trail next to him. Now my curiosity was growing by the second. Side by side we ventured onward, entering the trail.

"So...you ready for the big trip soon?" I asked.

Kameron shrugged. "I mean, it's cool. But I really don't feel like going."

My mouth went agape. What? He's not interested in the trip? I've been looking forward to this all month!

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because...it just seems like we're just spending a couple of hours, there won't be much to do, and it's mandatory." Kameron replied.

"Wow, Kameron. You just described a school trip." I said with bits of sarcasm. "C'mon, it'll be fun. Sure, it's mandatory, but it'll be great."

Kameron rolled his eyes. Right after he turned his head and stopped in his tracks, making me stop too.

"We've arrived." Kameron said.

I turned to where he was looking and my eyes slowly widened. Up ahead there was a huge rocky area, but what caught my attention the most was the abundance of green crystals surrounding it and sealing the entrance.

Going up to the entrance Kameron ahead of me and raised out his right arm. Watching the entrance the crystals covering it began to slowly moved downward. Little by little they sunk into the ground, disappearing from sight. When the crystals vanished Kameron lowered his right arm and turned to me, giving me a nod. Turning to him then back to the entrance I took a step forward, going inside. Looking back I noticed Kameron following me, but the moment he came inside the crystals rose back up, sealing it.

"To make sure we don't have any uninvited guests." He commented.

Okay... A little creepy, but you never know what could happen.

Inside my eyes widened. Up above and from the sides were huge green crystals radiating green lights. The more I walked the more crystals caught my attention. No wonder Kameron sealed the entrance, diggers and miners would have a field-day gathering all of this.

"Not to sound suspicious, but this isn't wear you keep your victims, is it?" I asked.

Kameron cocked an eyebrow, "Uh, no. But what I found is a lot more interesting than a corpse."

A sigh exited my lips.

Soon enough we reached the end of the trail. In front of us laid a large pool of water, illuminated by huge crystals above it.

"The surprise is just below the surface. All we gotta do now is dive on in and it'll be right on the other side." Kameron explained.

I blinked at him and turned to the water. Taking a step forward my feet touched the edge of the path while my eyes gazed at the body of liquid. I...wasn't so sure what attracted me to water, but ever since I was little it just...called to me. The way it looked. The temptation of touching it. Feeling it. Maybe that's why I became a swimmer. Maybe...the universe wanted me to be a swimmer. That's the only explination I could think of.

Suddenly, I noticed water getting closer to me. Almost like I was about to touch it. Wait a minute...

My body suddenly jerked itself and I moved ahead before coming into contact with the water.

*SPLASH*

Entering the water my cheeks quickly puffed up before I quickly swam up and started coughing. Turning around I saw Kameron standing near the edge of the path with his left arm out and smirking.

"What was that for?" I asked.

"The water was calling you, so I gave you a little...push." Kameron replied.

I groaned at him. That was so uncool.

Putting down his left arm he then lifted up his right and his Gemstone started glowing. From it a small sphere of light came out and slowly dimmed, revealing a set of red goggles. Twisting his arms the goggles fell into his hand until he tossed them at me. I quickly caught them while Kameron lowered his goggles onto his eyes and jumped, diving into the water and resurfacing near me.

"You ready?" He asked.

*splash sound*

He jerked away while I splashed him again and again.

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry. I'm a jerk." He added.

I huffed and put my goggles on. "How deep do we have to dive?" I replied.

"Not to far. Just follow me and we'll be there quick." He answered.

Coming up to him I raised out my right hand and placed it into his left. "Okay. But you have to hold my hand the whole time." I added.

Kameron didn't say word, instead he slowly increased his grip in my hand. So did I, and I noticed his face turning red. I felt mine getting warmer and a rhythm in my chest started beating. But instead of words we both took a deep breath and dived down.

Lowering our bodies we began kicking our feet and started moving. I looked down and saw some fish swimming along. Picking up the pace we soared through the water with nothing but a clear path ahead of us.

My grip on Kameron tightened. The rhythm in my chest continued the more we swam. What is wrong with me? I just broke up with Zac and here I am developing this with Kameron. He's already taken. Elizabeth said she wasn't about this, but part of me believed she was kidding. Holding his hand had already increased the risk. No, just stop. Stop thinking about that.

I was then jerked out of my thoughts when Kameron stopped, making me pull back to him. I looked at him as he pointed upward. Nodding we slowly kicked our feet and began going up toward the light shining on the water. More and more we went and in no time we made out of the water. Once our heads came out we let out some heavy breaths and with our free hands we lifted our goggles onto our heads.

Looking around my jaw immediately dropped. Right there in front of us... I...I couldn't believe it. I thought that since Gems and monsters existed there wouldn't be anything that would surprise me anymore. I was wrong. Sitting on the water stood a humongous ship. On the sides were a couple of cracked pieces of wood, large holes, and some smears covering it. Somehow it still had it's flags, yet they were torn and barely holding on. How the stars did this end up here?

"Kameron. Where did you find this?" I asked in awe.

"Well, lass. Perhaps it be more appropriate if we discussed that in my quarters." He replied, speaking like a pirate.

I giggled at him and nodded. Together we swam toward the ship and made it toward it's side. Spotting a latter we let go of our hands and I went up first. Climbing onto the deck I spotted a couple of barrels lying around. Some had holes in them and rest were still in tact. To my left I spotted remnants of cannons, though they all looked busted and beyond repair. To my right were two sets of stairs and the wheel of the ship.

Turning around I spotted Kameron coming onto the deck and walked passed me. I followed him toward the lower staircase in between the two sets of stairs and saw a door. He opened it and went inside with me following. On the other side of the door there was a large wooden desk standing right in middle of the room. To my right I saw a couple of barrels and several metal cups on top of them. Next to the barrels were...guns. Old-fashioned pirate guns sitting on a small desk next to...pirate swords? To my left I spotted three large hammocks made of rope, A collection of glass-bottles on a small desk, and three treasure chests.

"Wow..." I said in awe. "Why didn't you tell me you were a pirate?"

"Didn't wanna scare ya." Kameron replied as he walked over to the big desk and sat in a large chair. "To be honest, I'm not entirely sure where this ship came from, but I cleaned it up a little and made it my own."

"What about the guns and swords?" I asked, pointing at them with my thumb.

"Souvenirs. Guns don't work. Swords are rusty, but kinda cool to keep around." He replied. "Can I offer you a drink, lass?"

I nodded and watched him walk over to the glass-bottles. "Water. Juice. Soda. Or milk." He asked.

"Got any Cherry Cola?" I asked.

Raising out his right arm his Gemstone glowed and from it a small can of Cherry Cola came out. Grabbing it he opened it and poured it into the glass-bottle. Right until the last drop the glass-bottle was now full. Putting down the empty can he walked over to me and handed me the bottle.

"It's clean." He told me.

Taking the bottle I raised it to my lips and poured the refreshing soda down my throat. After a couple of sips I removed the bottle and sighed.

"Thanks." I said.

Kameron nodded. "As my guest, you must be taken care of. Would you like to sit in my chair?"

I smirked and walked over to the chair. Putting my drink down I sat in the chair. Oooooh...this feels nice...

Kameron chuckled a bit and sat on the side of the desk. "So...enjoying your date?"

Hearing that my cheeks burned almost immediately. Looking at him I moaned a little. Guess there's no point hiding it anymore.

"I'm sorry." I said.

"For what?" Kameron replied.

"For the bet." I clarified. "I like you, Kameron. You're a really great guy. It's just...I don't wanna ruin what we already have and hurt Elizabeth."

"She told me about it." Kameron replied. "I didn't want to see this as a date either, but I wanted to make sure you were having fun."

He got off the desk and walked around it, facing me. He then raised out his arms and I smiled before standing up and embracing him. He slowly wrapped his arms around my waist as I tightened my hold on him. A long sigh exited my lips while I placed my head on his shoulder. This... This...wasn't at all how I thought things would play out, but...it definitely went better than I expected. Why couldn't Zac treat me like this? Why did he lie to me? Why did he...

Sobs started exiting my mouth. I felt tears falling out of my eyes. I... Why... What's wrong with me...?

"I'm here." Kameron said softly. "It's gonna be okay. I'll help you through this."

I tightened my hold on him. I don't care if this was a date. I don't care about that anymore. Just...being held by one of my best friends is enough. Whatever these new feelings that are creeping in my head are, I'll figure them out. Then...whatever happens, I'll keep moving forward.

End Of Episode 24.

Hope you all enjoyed this.

I originally didn't want to do to Scarlett or Chelsea, but it adds more to the narrative and what is to come in the future.

Be safe everyone. See you all soon.
