Episode 30: For Her
Thirteen Years Ago
Tonight the darkened skies were covered in array of stars, accompanied by a large crescent moon.
Back and forth the oceans waters raised themselves onto the beach and returning to whence they came. Out in the far distance of the ocean was...nothing. Nothing beyond the horizon, nothing coming into a visible spot, just...nothing but small waves bumping into each other.
On the sands of Beach City was Pearl, sitting down with her legs against her chest and staring out into the distance. Her lips frowned as her eyes were half-open. A small breeze flowed by, lightly pushing her hair, yet she paid no mind to it.
No... No, what did have Pearl's attention in her mind was Rose.
A sigh exited her mouth at the thought of her name. Once again, Rose was another "date," with this human named Mr. Universe. Ugh, why Rose had such affection for him of all the humans she's previously been with before she'll never understand. She's been in relationships with other humans before, but they only lasted for a short time. So...why is one so different than the rest?
Lifting her head, Pearl turned her gaze onto the night-sky. Looking at the crescent moon and stars above, Pearl released a small hum from her lips. To be fair, it is such a beautiful night tonight. However, her lips frowned as she then placed her head onto her knees.
'It should've been me...' Pearl though to herself.
"Pearl?"
Hearing her name called, A gasp exited Pearl's mouth. Lifting her head she turned it around and right behind her was the very Gem that changed her life forever.
Standing on the sands was a large light-skinned woman with big curly pink hair and pink eyes. The woman wore a large strapless white dress with a large yellow star placed on her stomach and at the center of the star was a large pink Gemstone. Her name...is Rose Quartz, leader of the Crystal Gems.
Rose had a concerned and worried expression as she slowly approached her life-long companion. Why was she near the ocean all by herself? And...why does she look sad?
"Is something wrong?" Rose asked softly.
The look in Rose's eyes... The tone in her voice... They both brought some weight onto Pearl's mind. Why was she here with her now?
"I thought you were on a date with Greg." Pearl replied, turning her head away.
Hearing the bitter tone in Pearl's voice, Rose walked up next to her and took a seat on the sands. Putting her hands on her knees, Rose kept her attention on Pearl.
"We finished it an hour ago." Rose said. "Garnet told me you'd be here and...that you were upset."
Pearl rolled her eyes. Of course Garnet would tell her where she was.
"I'm okay." Pearl replied.
Rose frowned at the response.
"Pearl. Please look at me." Rose asked softly.
Pearl closed her eyes tightly. She doesn't want to talk to Rose right now. She doesn't want to talk to anyone right now. But no... The Universe is seriously making her face this when she obviously doesn't want to. Slowly letting some air out of her mouth, she calmly opened her eyes and turned her head to Rose.
"How long have we known each other?" Rose asked.
Pearl blinked at her. What kind of question is that?
"Approximately, Five-thousand, three-hundred years." Pearl answered.
Rose nodded. Pearl was and still is the smartest Gem she's ever met. There wasn't anything she couldn't figure out or forget.
"Then you should know that you can tell me anything." Rose addressed. "Whatever has happened that I'm not aware of or what troubled thoughts creep in your mind, please tell me. I want to help you."
Pearl's eyes lightly widened. But...she then looked away from Rose and soon stood up. Even if she does open up about it, it probably doesn't matter anymore. No matter how many times she tries to get Rose's attention and succeed, she already has somebody. And this time...it isn't a phase.
"You can't..." Pearl said softly.
A small gasp exited Rose's lips. She then quickly stood up from the sands while staring at Pearl. A soft breeze flew through their hair.
Lowering her head, Pearl quickly shifted her body and walked away. It's over...
Before Pearl could get far she suddenly stopped in her tracks when her hand got taken.
"Pearl. You have to tell me what's wrong. I can't stand seeing you hurt." Rose said.
Getting a good grip on her hand, Rose continued to stare at Pearl. Then... Pearl slowly turned her head to her and a gasp exited Rose's lips.
Tears... Tears started to form in Pearl's eyes and slowly descend onto her cheeks before falling off of her chin.
That look... That sorrowful expression... Rose's eyes started to shake the more she looked at Pearl. Was she hurting this much? Why? Did someone do something to her? Did somebody say something bad to her or called her something? Rose needed to know. She has to help heal this unknown pain Pearl is feeling.
"It's...not...fair..." Pearl sobbed softly.
"What isn't fair?" Rose asked gently, releasing her hold on Pearl's hand.
Turning completely around, Pearl faced Rose with more tears falling from her eyes. Opening her mouth, Pearl tried to say something...anything to the one person that mattered to her more than anything. But...no words words were brought out. Even with her vision blurry and incapable of giving Rose a proper answer, Pearl pushed herself forward and leaped onto Rose.
A muffled gasp exited Rose's mouth as her eyes shot open. Pearl... Pearl...had her arms wrapped her neck and...her lips pressed against hers. W-W-WHAT!?
Pearl then released her lips from Rose's. Her cheeks blushed a light blue, but she didn't care. Even if this was wrong, she's not gonna give up on this chance. Pushing her head forward again, Pearl locked her lips with Rose again.
Rose...just stood where she was. Was this...the thing that was bothering Pearl so much?
Slowly...Rose raised up her arms and gently held onto Pearl's waist. Closing her eyes she then started returning Pearl's affection. If this is what she needs to do to help Pearl, then she'll do it.
Feeling Rose returning her kiss, Pearl moaned in her mouth. Her worries... Her fears... Her troubles... All of them were melting away in this moment of utter bliss.
Removing her mouth from Rose's she removed her arms from behind Rose's neck as she felt herself being lowered onto the sands. Rose looked at her with a loving smile and gently caressed her cheek, making her blush a bit more.
"I love you." Pearl uttered without a second thought. "I've loved you for so, so long. Please... Love me, Rose."
Rose softly kissed Pearl's cheek before looking into her beautiful eyes. "Okay. I'll give you as much love as I can."
From that the two locked lips before Rose rolled onto her back, bringing Pearl onto herself without breaking apart their lips.
And from that night...sweet, passionate memories were forged.
Present Time
Pearl's eyes shot open with a gasp exiting her lips. Quickly raising herself up she grabbed her blanket and covered herself with it.
Blinking a couple of times she shifted her eyes onto her surroundings. The room was dark, though twinkles of light did illuminate her field of vision. All around her were large bursts of water rising from the large pool below her and her bed.
Raising a hand to her lips, a blush appeared on Pearl's cheeks. Her lips slowing stretched upwards as she closed her eyes. That night...
However, Pearl's lips frowned as she reopened her eyes. Removing her hand from her lips she pulled her blanket away from her body and got up from her bed.
Raising her hands up she directed them toward her Gemstone before it began to illuminate a white light. Slowly a pink hilt came out of it before the rest followed until the entire item came out.
Lowering her head, Pearl put her gaze onto...Rose's sword. Now after so long it's been completed. This was the very blade that Rose wielded during The Great War. The blade that battled countless foes and defeated many enemies. This...was the very blade that-
Shutting her eyes and increasing her grip on the weapon, Pearl let out a sigh. It was so, so long ago and yet, that memory remained fresh in her mind.
Opening her eyes Pearl looked at the sword one last time before placing it back into her Gemstone.
"I wish...you were still here." Pearl said to herself. "But...no matter how I may request it, reality is a cruel mistress."
Turning her head, Pearl spotted a door far in the distance. In a flash she replaced her sleep attire with her current base one. Turning around she reached out her blanket and began making her bed. Pulling up the blanket she placed it right back down and started evening it out. Grabbing her pillow she fluffed it several times and placed right back down at the center of the headboard. A proud hum exited her lips before putting her hands on her hips and making her way to the door.
Approaching the door Pearl stopped right in front of it. The moment she steps right out of it...reality will be on the other side. She'll have to face...him. But...there were positives in reality too.
Lightly narrowing her eyes, Pearl raised out her hand and door soon opened up, allowing her to step through to toward the other side.
Walking out the door Pearl walked pass the house Warp Pad and made her way into the living room. Turning her head to the dining-area her gaze was placed onto both Greg whom was making coffee and Steven whom was enjoying one of his favorite types of cereal: Tiger Flakes.
Walking up to them, Steven took notice of Pearl and shot her a big smile. "Good morning, Pearl."
Pearl lightly smiled and took a seat next to him. "Good morning, Steven. Did you sleep well?"
Steven rapidly nodded. "I did."
Pouring some coffee into a mug, Greg slowly turned around and noticed Pearl. She herself turned from Steven to him and noticed two mugs in his hands. He must really enjoy coffee.
"Good morning, Pearl." Greg said, putting the mugs onto the counter. He then handed her one, "I made you some tea."
Pearl blinked at him then at the mug in front of her. Greg...made her...tea? Why?
"I just wanted to do something nice and help you start your day right." Greg told her.
Pearl raised up her hands and put them both onto the mug. Lifting it up to her face she glanced at Greg, giving her a smile. Well...if he made then...she'll indulge in it, especially since Steven was sitting right next to her. Putting the edge of the mug to her lips she slightly tilted it up and having the liquid inside go into her mouth. The moment it touched her tongue her eyes widened before she removed the mug and smacked her lips.
"How is it?" Greg asked.
Pearl blinked and let out a small hum. "It's...good. Although, to be honest, it is a little too sweet."
Greg frowned a little from the criticism, but...at least it wasn't bitter. Now he'll know what to do next time.
"Do you have any plans today, Steven?" Pearl asked.
Steven gave her a nod before swallowing some more of his cereal.
"I'm giving Connie and her family a tour around Beach City. Showing them the wonders and amazement our beloved town has to offer." Steven replied.
Oh. Well, that sounds nice. The Maheswarans very nice people and Steven has another friend to interact with.
Steven then turned his head to the door and saw small ounces of light coming into the house. His eyes lightly widened before he turned to his bowl, now filled with only milk, and drank it. Putting the bowl down Steven got down from his seat and went straight to the bathroom.
"Hot potatoes, I need to get ready." Steven said before closing the door.
Now left alone with Greg, Pearl took another sip from her tea while Greg sipped on his coffee.
Whenever they were alone it was difficult for them to start up a conversation. Considering their history...it wasn't too hard to understand why, but...the quiet in the atmosphere made things...a bit awkward between. Either of them needed to say something, anything to break this tension.
Pearl then put her mug down onto the counter and looked at Greg with narrowed eyes. Greg swallowed some of his coffee and put his mug on the counter, locking eyes with Pearl's.
Greg swallowed some saliva and placed both of his hands on the counter. Okay... Okay, Greg. Just talk to her. You've done that a lot, but why is it different whenever you're alone with her? She's your sister-in-law, she's family, and yet...what can you say to the woman who hates you?
"Have you decided what school Steven will be going when Summer ends?" Pearl asked.
Huh?
Greg tilted his head at her for a moment, taking in what she said before giving it some thought.
"How about Dewey High? That's where Kameron goes." Greg suggested.
"Yes, but it's also where Lion terrified one of the facility members." Pearl addressed. "Not only that, but you're talking about having Steven go to a school that's located in a city nine miles away from here. Granted he has been there, but he isn't a local."
Hearing this made Greg suck in some air through his teeth. Yeah...that happened.
"That's true, but the boys rarely see each other. I just thought them both going to the same school would bring them closer." Greg replied.
"That's very kind, Greg. But while Steven does love Kameron and so do we, he shouldn't be too dependent on him. We already have enough help from Green and Christie. We shouldn't been too reliant on them with this." Pearl said.
Greg hummed a bit from Pearl's response.
On one hand, she has a point. Greg dropped out of community college when he was twenty-two and Christie has helped out when needed. She's like the sister he always wanted, but...has he been too dependent on her over the years? He has a job at the car wash, but...that barely covers the bills.
However on the other hand, Beach City does have Leo High. That's where Greg went after middle school, but...it wasn't that great.
Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock!
Just when Greg opened his mouth to speak a collection of knocks entered his and Pearl's ears.
Turning to the door, Pearl got up from her seat and walked over to it. Grabbing the knob she then opened the door and to her surprise, Green and Christie were right on the other side.
"Green? Christie?" Pearl said.
"Hello, Pearl." Green replied.
"What brings you both by? Did something happen?" Pearl asked, allowing the couple to enter inside. Green did however had bend over slightly due to his height while stepping in.
Christie reached into her pocket and pulled out a folded envelope. "We're here to give you money. It's been a month." She added, handing Pearl the envelope.
Pearl's eyes lightly widened. Oh... Right, of course. That was the agreement they made. Looking down at the envelope Pearl frowned a little as she placed it into her Gemstone.
"Thank you. We really appreciate it." Pearl replied.
The couple looked at both Pearl and Greg with concern.
"Is something wrong?" Christie asked. "Did you two get into another fight?"
Greg quickly shook his head. "No. No, we didn't. We were just talking about where Steven should go to school when summer is over."
The couple continued looking at the two. That is a difficult choice to think about, although from the way Pearl held her arms and Greg adverting his eyes, there was more going on than that.
"Pearl. Greg." Green said, making them both look at him. "Whatever trouble are in your minds, would you allow us to heal them?"
Pearl slightly increased her hold on her arms. She could tell them they were okay, but...after what Green said, that didn't seem like much of an option anymore. But...what will happen after?
PING!
In the air a sudden sound entered everyone's ears.
Reaching into his pocket, Green pulled out his phone and saw a Gem icon flashing. Pressing on it a map appeared in the background and the icon placed itself onto a location.
"Nein..." Green said in German, lightly gripping his phone.
"What is it?" Christie asked, taking her husband's hand into her own.
Closing his eyes, Green let out some air through his nose before slowly putting his phone back into his pocket.
Pearl looked at Green with concern. Though she was saved from opening up about her issues, seeing Green troubled...had her troubled.
"Are you okay, Green?" Greg asked.
Opening his eyes, Green looked at the people around him with a frown on his lips.
"Apologies. It is a precious place I cherish. I must go and see what troubles it." Green said.
Christie then stood on her tippy-toes and planted a peck on her husband's cheek. "Be careful." She added.
Green gave her a nod.
"May I come as well?" Pearl offered.
Green gave her a nod and pulled out his Warp Whistle. Pearl approached him and raised out her hand. Green gently took it before blowing into his whistle, engulfing him and Pearl in a green light before they disappeared.
As soon as they left the bathroom door opened, revealing Steven coming out while wearing nothing but a towel and and drying his hair with another.
"*sigh* Nothing like a nice shower to-" Steven said, opening his eyes.
Though the moment he did he saw aunt Christie stand right in front of him...
Steven's face turned as red as a tomato before he turned around went right back into the bathroom, closing the door behind him.
Christie straightened her glasses a little while looking away with a pink blush on her cheeks.
Greg just took another sip of his coffee, adverting his eyes.
In a flash of light both Green and Pearl arrived at their destination.
In front of them lied the entrance to a massive town filled with various buildings and showcased a brick-layered road. Walking forward Green placed his Warp Whistle into his pocket as he and Pearl separated their hands. Shifting her head from left to right, Pearl locked her gaze on the architecture and grinned a little. The way they were structured, their patterns, truly amazing to witness with your own eyes.
While the duo walked several locals and bystanders stared at them. Some held their children close to them. Some narrowed their eyes and soon turned away, going back to what they were originally doing. Some looked at them with awe and smiled. And some even started waving at them.
Pearl waved at them back, though...she wasn't too sure how to reply to them. Yes, she's been on Earth for millenniums, but that didn't mean she paid attention to everything that was going on through it's ever changing eras.
Up ahead Green stopped in his tracks. Pearl then stopped and looked back at him before turning her head to what he was looking at.
Standing at the center of the town stood a large statue of a man clad in armor. The man showed a smile across his lips and held a large sword by the hilt in his right hand. Near his feet showed a silver plaque. Coming up to it Pearl squinted her eyes a little, trying to read what it said.
"Heir...lugen...Siegfried, Einmal...a rebellisch jugend, jetzt..." Pearl said, reading in German as best as she could.
A small groan exited Pearl's mouth. She attempted to read the rest, but found trouble pronouncing the words. Slowly turning her head to Green, her cheeks blushed a light blue.
Green grinned gently, seeing her silently asking for his help. Walking up to the statue he looked at the plaque and continued when she left off.
"Nezt, ein wahrer Krieger." Green said in German.
Raising his hand, Green gentle placed it on the plaque, slowly caressing it as he looked up at the statue.
"Did you know him?" Pearl asked.
Green gave her a nod, "This is Siegfried. One of my many sons."
Pearl blinked at Green and turned to the statue. One of...his many sons?
"I thought Kameron, Pyrope, Citrine, and Onyx were your sons." Pearl asked.
Green nodded again. "They are. But Pearl, do keep in mind that we've been on Earth for many millenniums. I've had many, many children after The Great War."
Many...many children? So...is Kameron and Steven not the only hybrids? The very thought troubled Pearl. Two is enough, but...more? And exactly how many?
Green then turned his head to Pearl, noticing her concerned expression.
"I do mean adoption, Pearl." Green clarified. "Kameron is my only son to share similar abilities as I do."
Oh... Oh, right... Adoption is an option to be claimed by those who want you in their family.
A sigh of relief exited Pearl's lips. Two is enough to handle.
Look back at the statue, Pearl hummed a little. "What was he like?"
A small chuckle exited Green's mouth, "As a child, he admired me and wished to become the greatest of knights. I trained him to wield a sword, and as he became a young man his skills grew. But..."
Green stopped, gritting his teeth.
Pearl kept looking at him, waiting for him to finish. However, Green released his hand the plaque and turned away.
"I apologize, Pearl. But...that is a tale I cannot complete." Green said. "For now, let us ensure the town is safe."
Pearl opened her mouth, wanting to ask what happened. But...she then close it. Unsure of what had become of Siegfried, it wasn't hard to determine numerous outcomes. Still, she won't push Green about it. Only when he is willing to open up about can she ask.
Just when the duo were about to walk away from the statue, the sounds of galloping entered their ears. Turning their heads the duo and several bystanders aimed their attention at the entrance of the town. In the distance were five individuals wearing silver armor, riding on horseback. As they were getting closer everyone started seeing more details about them.
Four of them were young girls in their late-teens while the fifth was a young male in his late-teens.
The first girl in the center had long brunette hair styled in a ponytail, hazel eyes, and had a small mole underneath the left side of her lips. She held a serious expression with a large frown on her lips. Lastly, there was a long-metallic spear right on her back.
The second girl on the right of the brunette had blonde-hair styled in two-braids, light-blue eyes, and a small scar on her right cheek. She kept showing glances at the brunette, but mainly kept her attention on the path. Lastly, she had a sword placed on her right hip.
The third girl on the left of the brunette had short black hair and her right eye was covered by a black eye-patch, only showing her left eye which was brown. The girl's face showed no expression, not even her eye flinched while riding on her horse. Lastly, she carried two guns on her chest and one on each side of her hip.
The fourth girl next to the gun wielder had long-flowing red hair and crimson eyes. Though her eyes were narrowed, a smirk was spread across her lips. That alone showed the fire burning within. Lastly, she also had a spear on her back, but also carried a short-sword on her right hip.
The only male next to the blonde girl had short blonde hair blue eyes while wearing glasses. He held some weight on him, evidenced by his cheeks, though his expression showed some uncertainty in his eyes. And lastly, the male carried a big silver-shield with a mace on his right hip.
The most notable about them as they entered was the German flag on the left shoulders of their armors and the letters D.H.P. located on their right shoulders.
The five of them pulled the reins on their horses, making them stop directly in front of Green and Pearl. Green himself from his position, but Pearl quickly ran right behind him and poked her head out.
The brunette then got off her horse, landing right on brick-layered ground and keeping her attention on Green. Stepping away from her horse she marched straight up to him and stopped as soon she was right in front of him. Green lightly lowered his head, making eye-contact with the brunette.
Soon...the brunette locked her legs together and placed a hand right onto her chest.
"Willkommen. Wir benotigen ihre hilfe." The brunette said in German.
Green gave her a nod. "Was ist passiert?" He asked in German.
"Echsenwesen. Unser Trupp versuchte, sie zu toten, scheiterte jedoch." The brunette explained in German. "Als wir in der Ferne ein Licht sahen, kamen wir hierher." She added.
Okay. Green understood what she told him, however Pearl didn't.
Tapping on his side, Pearl made Green look at her as she walked from behind her, making the individuals turn to her.
"Green what's going on?" Pearl asked.
"It'll be for the best we see for ourselves." Green explained. "Das ist Pearl. Sie ist ein Kristalljuwel. Sie spricht kein Deutsch." He added, introducing Pearl to the individuals.
The brunette raised an eyebrow at her before turning to the others. Putting her attention back on Pearl, the brunette closed her eyes and sucked in some air into her nose before exhaling it out the same way. Opening her eyes she turned around.
"Follow us." The brunette said with a German-accent, going back to her horse.
Leaving the town, the duo and the individuals quickly made their way down a long-narrow path. To keep up with the youths, Green made a crystal horse and had it go the same speed as the other horses were. Pearl held onto him from behind and kept her eyes on both the path and the youths. Where they were going she wasn't sure, but what mattered was that they were needed and that's all that Pearl needed to understand.
Up ahead the group spotted a collection of trees in the distance.
Pulling on the reins the horses neighed, but began to slow down until they came to a complete stop. Getting off of their horses, the group locked their eyes on the trees, leading them toward a small forest.
"Pearl. Green." The brunette said, making the Crystal Gem and Rainbow Gem look at her. "Mein name iss Anneliese." She added, pulling out her spear.
Anneliese...
"Mein name is Helene." The blonde girl said with a German-accent, pulling out her sword.
Helene...
"Mila." The eye-patch girl said with a German-accent, pulling out her guns off of her chest.
Mila...
The redhead pulled out her spear, twirling it in her left hand before firmly pounding it onto the ground. "Hildegart ze fourzz." She added passionately with a German-accent, pulling out her short-sword her right hand.
Hildegard The Fourth...
The blonde-boy pulled out his shield and mace, though he still carried an uncertain expression. "I am Heinrich." He added with a German-accent.
Heinrich...
Green and Pearl gave them a nod now that they know their names. Pearl then summoned her own spear from her Gemstone, holding it with both hands and narrowing her eyes at the trees.
"I suggest we stay close. There's no telling what's in there once we go inside." Pearl said out-loud.
"I like zat idea." Heinrich replied with a little smile.
Anneliese rolled her eyes and started walking, "Uff kourse you do, little brozzer."
Hilgarde snickered a little with her and the other girls following Anneliese. Pearl then followed them with Green behind her and Heinrich following after.
Going into the trees Mila raised up her guns to her right before turning them to the left and ascending them into the air. The enemy could come from any direction, but this time she'll make sure every target is taken down. Despise not showing much expression, her index fingers were pressed on the triggers, just waiting to be pressed.
Anneliese increased her grip on her spear with every step she took. Her eyes quickly shifted in various directions. She can't let this happen again. She already knew what was waiting for and the others when they return to their commander. Luckily the monsters haven't made their way to the town where the innocent people were. She wasn't sure why that hasn't happened yet, but she'll make sure to not let that happen.
Helene turned her eyes onto the others and the Gems. Getting a good grip on her sword a rhythm in her chest started going off. With a Crystal and a Rainbow Gem with her and her siblings, they should definitely turn the tide. They have to.
Hildegarde The Fourth rapidly looked all around her while tightly holding her weapons. Every second she walked she just couldn't wait to pierce any one of those creatures. Any moment now... Any...moment...now.
Heinrich kept his attention on the trees and the area around them. Glancing at his weapons he kept a good grip on them, but...will he be able to stand his ground or... Heinrich shook his head. No, a Crystal Gem and a Rainbow Gem are here with him. But...he can't be like th is during a battle, especially since he spent all that time training. Is he just gonna waste it?
Green and Pearl kept their eyes open, though Pearl did shoot glances at the youths. So young...and out here fighting a battle that isn't truly theirs to fight. It's their fault that all of this is happening and humans, wildlife, and the planet itself is paying the price.
"May I ask you all something?" Pearl asked, gaining the attention of the youths. "I'm sure you all have your reasons for doing this, but...you should stay with your families."
The girls merely looked away from Pearl with Heinrich turning his attention to the ground.
"Humanity iss schtronger zan you zink." Anneliese said without looking at Pearl. "Ve are nicht veak."
"But your lives are short and-" Pearl attempted to say, but got interrupted by Helene.
"Ve are aware. But ve vill schtill schetent undt fight" Helene replied.
"Ve made a promise, undt ve vill keep it until ve die." Mila added.
Pearl gasped at Mila's words. Until they die... No... They have so much to live for. That's a better option than getting killed by a monster.
She attempted to speak up again, but a slithering sound immediately made her silence herself.
The group stopped walking and began observing the area, locating where the noise originated.
Heinrich lifted his head and...standing right on an upper-tree branch made his pupils dilate.
The creature was reptilian with green scales, sharp claws and teeth, green slit-eyes, and had a long tail. Most notably, there was a green Gemstone on it's chest.
"Uber uns!" Heinrich yelled.
Hearing him everyone looked up just before the creature jumped off of the branch and pounced toward them. Without wasting a second Mila raised up her guns and pulled the triggers.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Each shot fired went straight through the monster, making holes right through it's body.
POOF!
In an instant the monster exploded into smoke with only it's Gemstone remaining and falling onto the ground. Green raised out his arm and a large elongated crystal shot out of his palm. Stretching itself out the crystal grabbed the Gemstone and retracted itself back into Green's palm. With Gemstone in hand, Green placed it in a bubble and tapped it, sending it away.
More hissing sounds echoed in the area, making the group shift their attention to where they were coming from.
Turning around, Hildegard spotted three large lizards similar to the previous one, only they were orange instead of green. Smirking at them, Hildegard pointed her spear at them charged straight at them without a second thought.
"Hildegarde!" Helene yelled.
Ignoring her sister, Hildegarde continued running pass several trees and screaming at the top of her lungs. The first lizard charged right at her, but right it came into close quarters she pulled her left arm back and thrusted her spear right through it's body before pulling it out and rotating her body until the edge of her spear slashed the monster's head right off.
POOF!
The monster then exploded, leaving nothing except it's Gemstone left.
Turning her head Hildegarde charged at her next target. The second lizard leaped into the air and went straight for her, opening it's jaw up and wide. Seeing it come she held up her spear, making the monster clamp on it instead. With her right arm she thrust it forward, stabbing the monster with her short-sword and raising it up high, splitting it's head in half.
POOF!
Running away, Hildegarde ignored the beast exploding and instead focused her eyes on the last lizard. Giving it no time to react, she pierced her spear right through it's chest, then scrapped the metal of her spear with her short-sword to give out sparks and slicing it's head right off.
POOF!
Witnessing the last target explode, Hildegarde released a sigh and raised her head to the sky, smiling at the pure burst of adrenaline she just went through.
Meanwhile Helene stared down another lizard, only this one was dark-blue.
Placing her other hand onto her sword she glared at the creature as it screech at her before rushing toward her. Leaping into the air the creature raised out it's claws and attempted to shred her, but Helene bent her legs and lowered her upper-body, jumping straight into the air. Rotating her body forward she managed to get over the monster. Getting right behind it she raised up her arm and in a flash she slashed right at the creature's tail, cutting it right off.
The lizard screeched in pain, but right when it opened it's eyes Anneliese stood right in front of it, leaping into the air and thrusting her spear right into it's mouth.
POOF!
Passing through the smoke as the monster exploded, Anneliese grabbed it's Gemstone. Landing back on the ground she pulled out a small flat device from her pocket, opening it to form a small square and putting the Gemstone into it.
Looking up Anneliese saw Helene approach her, sheathing her sword.
"Gute Arbeit." Helene said.
Anneliese nodded.
Heinrich was running while holding onto his weapons and screaming in fear. Right behind him was a large lizard coming right for him, only this one was red. Shutting his eyes he kept running as fast as he could, continuing to scream.
'I knew i Seig Heil! I kannot do zi Seig Heil!' Heinrich yelled in his head.
Taking another step Heinrich suddenly tripped, falling right onto the ground. Soft groans exited his mouth. His vision became blurry due to his glasses falling off, but as he slowly turned around the red lizard came up and attempted to throw it's jaws at him. Despite his poor vision, Heinrich lifted up his shield and making the lizard crash into it. Pushing himself away, Heinrich patted the ground a couple of times until he found his glasses and putting them back on. Turning around he saw that the lizard was knocked out and...realized he was the one who did it.
A little chuckle exited his lips, but the job wasn't over yet. Standing up, Heinrich tightly gripped his mace and ran straight at the monster. Raising it up high he then slammed it right onto the monster's head as hard as he could.
POOF!
With one swing the monster explode, leaving only it's Gemstone left. Picking it up Heinrich sheathed his mace onto his waist and pulled out a flat metal rectangle. It then turned into a small metal box before he picked up the Gemstone and putting it in. Closing the box he placed it on the ground and reached into his pocket again, only this time he pulled out a small chocolate-bar.
"Wunderbar..." Heinrich said softly, opening the wrapper and taking a bite. Soft moans exited his mouth while he cupped his cheek.
Twirling her spear in hand, Pearl pointed it at three remaining lizards, only these were pink.
Standing in front of Green she narrowed her eyes at the creatures.
"Green. I'll take care of them. Go find the others." Pearl said without looking at him.
Green opened his mouth to reply, but with the way she was standing and wanting to protect him, even though he didn't required it, this was something she wanted to do.
"Very well. I'll leave this in your hands." Green replied as he ran off.
Now alone Pearl pushed herself forward, doing what she does best.
The first lizard raised out it's claw and tried slashing at her, but Pearl merely twirled out of the way and slashed through it's mid-section.
POOF!
Moving onto the next lizard, Pearl leaped into the air and with both hands gripping her spear she thrusted it onto the monster. However, the monster quickly dodged her attack, making Pearl's spear stab the ground instead. The lizard then spun itself around, hitting Pearl with it's tail and sending her into the air before she crashed back down. A few grunts exited her mouth, but before she speak she looked up to see the lizard coming right at her. Watching it open up it's jaw Pearl pushed herself into the air and summoned another spear, stabbing it right onto the lizards back.
POOF!
Lifting her head and picking herself up from the ground, Pearl glared at the final lizard.
The last one quickly turned itself around and ran off.
"Uh-uh. You're not running away." Pearl said firmly.
Raising up her spear with one hand it began to illuminate a white light before getting engulfed by it. Pulling the spear back she threw it with as much strength as she could muster. In a burst of speed the spear passed by a row of trees and was coming in toward the last lizard. In a flash the spear pierced right through it, leaving a big gaping in it's body.
POOF!
After bubbling and sending away the Gemstones, Pearl traversed among the area until she found the others and Green.
"Is everyone okay?" Pearl asked.
Hildegarde smirked, putting her spear onto her shoulder. "Yeah, we're okay."
"Zank you fur your help." Anneliese added.
Pearl gave her a nod. "What are you all going to do now?"
"Ve r-r-return to our kommenter undt gife her a r-r-report." Heinrich replied, taking another bite from his chocolate-bar.
Helene rolled her eyes and shook her head at him, "Heinrich, Henrietta said you kan't haf khocolate duringkt missions."
"I know, but I need it vhen I'm schtressed." Heinrich whined, taking another bite.
Anneliese placed a hand on her forehead. Great... Henrietta is gonna punish Heinrich for this when they get back. Removing her hand she turned her attention onto Pearl and Green.
"Ve're goingkt now. Zank you." Anneliese said, giving the Gems a bow.
Mila merely waved her hand at them as her and her siblings walked away from them.
Watch them leave, Green turned his head to Pearl. "Are you okay?"
"You don't have to worry about me." Pearl assured.
Green then approached her, standing right in front of her with a concerned expression. "I'm well aware that you are capable of handling monsters, but I do worry about you Pearl."
A little smile appeared on her lips. "Well...thank you. Can you take me home now?"
"Before we do, I am a little more comfortable telling you the rest of my son's tale. May we finish it back at the town? It's been a while since I've seen it." Green replied.
Pearl let out a small sigh. She wants to go home since the mission is over, but Green wishes to stay and finish what he was telling her earlier. Well...I guess a little more time here wouldn't be too bad. Besides, it'll give her the opportunity to learn more about Germany and it's culture.
"Very well. Learning more about another country does sound interesting." Pearl said.
End Of Episode 30.
Hope you all enjoyed this one. I wanted to expand a bit more on D.H.P. some more.
Also I used some sources to help me with the German language and it's dialect. For those who are German and I did something wrong in my writing, I apologize deeply.
See you all soon.
