Chapter 4: A Knight To The Rescue
"I can't believe he was right here!" the redheaded spy yelled in frustration.
"I know what you mean… but can you please turn the volume down, just a bit?" Clover requested.
"Do you? Well, then why don't you explain to me how you could let him get away?!" Sam demanded, heat in her voice.
"Umm… hello, newsflash, I never got to meet him before. How was I supposed to know who he was?" the blonde reasoned.
"I was yelling it at you… the whole time!"
"While you were frozen?" Clover countered.
"With my EYES!" Sam yelled back.
Alex sat off to the side, clearly disappointed with how things had turned out. "At least he called you zucchini… he didn't give ME a nickname…" the ravenette pouted.
"I am NOT a zucchini!" Sam screeched in anger.
"I mean, your suit is green all over, so…" Clover pointed out sheepishly, glancing away from her angry friend. "Come on… it's not that big of a deal, is it?"
"Isn't it? I mean, he was right here- under our noses- the entire time… doing God knows what!" Sam countered.
"I happen to agree with Sam on a few points…" Jerry suddenly interjected, entering the room holding a few papers.
"Jerry!" the three girls called out, as soon as they spotted their boss.
"Are you alright?" Alex asked, a bit of worry in her tone.
"I'm fine, girls… Luckily, Tim didn't have enough time to move forward with his scheme. But, in any case, concerning what you were discussing…" Jerry sat in his seat, staring at his spies. "I happened to go over everything you've told me… sadly, I still can't give you a name or anything else to go on…"
"What?! Are you telling me that NONE of the DOZENS of security cameras caught him?!" Sam demanded.
"No, they definitely spotted him… Unfortunately, part of Tim's plan was to scrub any evidence of himself ever being here. The security footage over last few days is too corrupted to draw any conclusions off of…" the older man explained.
"W-Well… maybe he was working with Tim, and needed a way out, so he-" Sam tried to reason, before her boss cut her off.
"I already thought of that and went to question Tim about it… His response was, and I quote: 'when I bring WOOHP down, I want you to know I did it alone…' Then, he tried to get the name of his attacker out of ME." Jerry took a deep breath, before looking serious. "…which brings me to my next point. It appears that 'The Actor' isn't acting against our interests, he's already helped you twice… and after going over our data and tech, it appears that he didn't steal anything…"
"What, nothing?" Clover questioned, it did seem odd.
"Well… there was ONE thing that was missing…" Jerry admitted, a concerned look upon his face.
The girls all swallowed nervously. Alex was the first to ask, "What was it?"
"My suit…" the older man bit out. Alex giggled in response, while Clover simply sighed.
"Really Jerry? And here I thought that it was something big…" the blonde girl groused.
X-=-=-=-=-=-=-X
It was a few days later, the spies had just finished another mission. The girls were currently on their way back to Beverly Hills, the only issue had been their method of transport.
"WHHAAA!" all three wailed as their small, stealth plane crashed into the bushes behind their school.
"Well, I'm glad we're done with that!" Alex shouted.
"Yeah, that was the perfect end to one of our hardest missions ever!" Sam agreed.
"Please! I would rather we never talked about it again… ever!" Clover declared, they all laughed.
"After all that, school will be a breeze…" the redhead added with a smile.
"It's a good thing tomorrow night is the school dance, I SO need to unwind…" Alex chimed in, they all heard the footsteps of someone approaching them.
"Don't relax just yet, girls…" cautioned a smiling Mandy. "This afternoon is the track meet, you better not be late…" the ravenette girl declared, before moving away.
"The track meet, we forgot!" Sam screeched, they all rushed to change their clothes.
…
Overall, the three spies had suffered through a terrible day. Not only did they have an exhausting mission, now they'd just finished with their track meet… and had done horribly.
Somehow, this was all Jerry's fault… they just knew it!
The only thing that had been able to draw their attention, despite the girl's fatigue, was the fact that Mandy (of all people) was here. The raven-haired beauty had never been the athletic type, usually only concerned with being the most popular (or the best-dressed) person in the room. Naturally, seeing her sitting on in the bleachers and watching the competition was kind of odd. However, the second they followed her gaze, they knew why.
Ron was down on the field… It wasn't clear if he was a formal part of the meet, or just running. Truthfully, it didn't seem to matter…
"Well… who would have guessed that the new kid's actually quite fit!" Clover commented, the three friends all stared shamelessly.
The blonde boy was sporting a pair of loose, black running shorts. They were complemented by a tight, gray shirt that really showed off his abs.
All in all, he looked quite enticing. The spies couldn't help but wonder why Ron wasn't wearing something that would show off his physique a little more. Even this much clearly had a number of girls interested.
The three friends watched as he came into a stop, looking cool and collected. It was clear that not only was Ron fit, he had some serious endurance too. Several male students approached Ron, initiating a conversation with him about something.
"Huh, I think those are sports team managers…" Alex commented. The noirette ought to know, she was the most athletic member of their group, after all.
"Oh really, which club?" Clover wondered aloud.
"Umm… all of them, I think?" the ravenette replied, identifying the leaders of almost all of Beverly Hills High's sports teams.
"Makes you wonder which one he'll pick…" Sam mused, watching Mandy rushing over to talk to Ron.
X-=-=-=-=-=-=-X
A few days went by. The blonde boy had kept a low profile, avoiding the team of spies who'd taken a bit of an interest in him as of late. At first, Ron had worried that he'd messed up or something… But, eventually, he'd discovered the real reason for the attention. It was because of his friendship with Mandy, who was a bit infamous around school.
Ron just ignored all those stupid rumors about her. He didn't care, the ravenette girl had been his first friend in all of Beverly Hills. Besides… it was clear that everyone else, who'd met Mandy in the past, had never bothered to really get to know her.
They were in the middle of science class, busy mixing a few chemicals together. At first, he'd had a bit of an issue… But the second he'd started looking at this like he was cooking, it had become practically second-nature.
Ron was partnered up with Mandy and her two friends, Caitlin and Dominique. He'd met them soon after he'd become friends with Mandy, the ravenette teen almost a little TOO excited to introduce him to them.
Having overheard something interesting, Mandy and her friends seemed to gravitate towards the three spies. After a few seconds of bickering, Ron's three partners returned. Mandy handed him a flier she'd gotten.
"What's this?" the blonde teen asked, grabbing the paper. He quickly noticed the wide variety of colors, along with the title upon it. "A Halloween party?" he read aloud.
"Yeah! I thought that m-maybe we could go?" Mandy suggested. She shot Ron a small, embarrassed smile. "…a-all of us, I mean! Plus, there's a costume contest…" she quickly added.
"Oh! Yeah, sure!" the blonde teen responded enthusiastically, it had been some time since he'd been to an actual costume party. Ron's train of thought derailed immediately upon spotting a sudden puff of pink smoke boiling out of a flask. Suddenly, the three spies vanished completely.
Ron had noticed the trap door opening, vanishing again as soon as it'd swallowed the girls. 'Well… that's worrying.' If their boss had felt the need to retrieve the spies in broad daylight, in the middle of a classroom full of people, then something SERIOUS was going on.
…
Tracking had never been his strong suit, but even Ron would say that following a flying object- while he was inside a cab- was kind of pathetic. He'd felt so embarrassed, ordering the driver to 'follow that flying thing!'
The man had simply shrugged and started driving, they'd reached some sort of military base about forty minutes later.
Leaving the cab, Ron jumped inside some bushes. He switched into his spare ninja uniform, adding a dark hat to hide his distinctive hair. The final touch was a mask… it hid most of his face, leaving only his eyes uncovered.
'At this point, I just HAVE to find some way to thank Yori!' Ron vowed, before starting to infiltrate the base. It turned out to be WAY too easy, actually. Most people didn't think that ANYONE was dumb enough to try to break in, especially in broad daylight. 'They've obviously never met me…' Ron joked, arriving inside a lab.
He noticed that the spies were there, currently talking to some scientist. Ron slithered over to the far side of the room, hiding behind a bulky machine and waiting for the girls to move.
'This time, I'll make sure to stay close…' he promised himself, there was NO WAY he was paying for another cab ride!
A few minutes later the scientist pulled out a remote control, he showed it to the girls. From what the blonde boy overheard, something had been stolen and that remote control was the only way to activate it.
'So, why do you just leave it around here? Why not take it somewhere that wasn't compromised? What about destroying, or dismantling, it… until the issue is resolved?!' Ron wanted to scream. God, what was with all of these so-called "geniuses" that he kept running into?! Did Dr. Bortel run a training camp for idiot savants, or something?!
'What's that? Why did I make a device that can control minds, or destroy the world, you ask? Pfff… details.' If Ron had rolled his eyes any harder, they probably would have fallen right out of his head.
Ron swore he'd find the person who'd decided it was a good idea to give these guys little to no common sense… and he was going to have some words with them.
Suddenly, there was an odd sound in the room. A strange, unnatural wind started picking up all around them. A bright light appeared, nearly blinding Ron. He covered his eyes for a second, before looking out once more… to see a knight from the middle ages, riding a HORSE, rushing towards the girls. The spies quickly dived out of the way, the knight grabbing the scientist they'd been talking to and galloping forward.
The three girls rushed after them, as quickly as they could, diving into a weird portal of some sort. Ron simply watched in trepidation. 'This is such a bad idea…' he moaned, rushing forward.
His world turned completely white, Ron blacked out.
X-=-=-=-=-=-=-X
His eyes opened slowly, the sunlight made Ron's head hurt. He could feel the soft grass beneath his hands as he, very slowly, moved into a sitting position. Ron's eyes focused, he noticed he was lying beneath a tree on top of a small hill.
Glancing around, he noticed a very worrying fact… It was painfully obvious that he wasn't anywhere close to a military base, or even Beverly Hills.
The first thing Ron noticed was a crude looking road, a horse running down it. Someone was straddling the beast, screaming and holding on for dear life, trying not to fall. He quickly rushed over, standing in front of the animal, trying to sooth it. "Whoa! Calm down… shhh… it's okay…" the blonde kept cooing, over and over, slowly approaching. Finally, the animal relaxed and came to a complete stop.
"T-That was, like, WAY too close…" moaned a familiar voice.
Ron looked up to see Clover staring straight at him. 'Well, shit…' he yelped silently.
"Thanks for the rescue… I'm not sure I could have held on until he stopped…" the blonde spy admitted. She got down from the horse, keeping one hand on its bridle to discourage it from running off.
"I'm sure you would have been okay…" Ron reassured her, his voice muffled by the mask he wore.
"Anyway… I seemed to be lost at the moment, could you tell me where I am?" Clover asked innocently.
"Where WE are, you mean…" Ron paused for a moment, before answering. "I have no clue…" he admitted, looking around, trying to make heads or tails out of this situation.
"What? How do you not-" the blonde girl began, cutting off when something in her bag started beeping. Clover pulled out a small compact mirror, it started emitted static.
"Hello?" Clover greeted, a small screen appearing where a mirror should have been. "Can you hear me?"
Ron moved next to Clover, recognizing the face of an older gentleman staring right at them.
"Hold on, I'm doing a global search to pinpoint your location" he informed them, typing for a few seconds. "Wait, this doesn't make sense, my data says you're in England… during the middle ages-"
"That sounds oddly specific…" Ron commented loudly.
The man on the monitor stared at him for a few seconds in confusion. "Clover… who is that with you?"
Before the female spy could respond, Ron simply smiled and took control of the conversation; "Nice to finally meet you… Jerry! If you are Jerry, that is. This could get a little awkward, if you're not…"
"You know who I am? Wait… you're The Actor!" Jerry shouted in shock, shoving his face as close to the screen as he could.
"The what now?" Ron responded, his head tilted to the side.
"Wait… so you're-" Clover yelped, she took a few steps back.
"Yes, Clover… Although, I'm surprised you don't recognize my voice…" Ron teased.
"Never mind that!" She shook her head, "what are you doing here!? Are you the one responsible for the scientist's kidnapping!?" the spy accused, pointing her finger at him.
"Do I look like a knight, in full plate armor?" he asked dryly. "Also, you SAW who took him-"
"Not that one! The first one, who was kidnapped a few days ago!" she yelled at him.
"There's been more than one?"
"Um… yeah, isn't that why you're?" she asked, starting to relax.
"No… would you believe I was just passing by?" Ron answered with a smirk.
"In the MIDDLE AGES?" Clover asked, not buying a word he said.
"If I may interrupt for a moment, while we still have reception…" Jerry cut in.
'Wait… how the hell do we have ANY sort of reception!?' Ron screamed internally, before reflecting upon his situation and abandoning all hope of anything making a shred of sense.
"Based upon your track record, I assume you're not here to stop us from completing our mission… correct?" Jerry verified.
"Well, seeing as we're both stuck here… sure, I'll help out" Ron agreed.
"But wait… Jerry, how are we going to get back?! We don't even know how we GOT here!" Clover demanded.
"I'm working on it" Jerry responded dryly, before staring at Ron. "…and you…"
"Me?"
"I want my suit back…" the gentleman bit out.
"Well… how about you come and get it? Or, better yet, I'll send it using the local post office! You don't mind waiting a bit, right?" Ron mocked.
Clover huffed in annoyance. "Why don't you worry about the important things… like getting us out of here?!"
"Clover, can you hear me?" The small device started to mutter, before the live feed cut off completely.
"Jerry, wait!" she called out desperately, before it died completely. "Great! Just what I need…"
"So… I know I haven't asked this yet, but where are your partners?" Ron glanced around, seeing no one in sight.
"I-I kinda lost them, when we were attacked by this angry mob…" the blonde spy reluctantly admitted. Clover was deeply embarrassed to recall that she'd basically abandoned her friends, to save herself.
"Do you think we need to head back and help them?" the ex-sidekick asked.
She shook her head. "Sammy and Alex can handle it… We may as well keep moving and find a way out of here, before it's too late."
Ron nodded and jumped up onto the horse, Clover approached him. "Wait, what are you doing?" she demanded.
"We need to get moving, so-"
"What about me? Am I supposed to- wha!" the blonde girl screeched. Ron had grabbed her hand, pulling her up behind him. Clover instinctively wrapped her arms around his waist. "What's the big idea?!" she shouted.
"Well, we only have one horse. I'd rather not walk, at least not until we know what it is we're looking for. So, I'd appreciate it if you could bear with this… for now" the boy explained, waiting a few seconds before taking Clover's silence as her assent.
"Don't get any ideas…" she mumbled, holding onto him.
"No problem… I won't…" Ron replied, spurring the horse forward.
…
The two traveled in complete silence for a few minutes, this was a really odd experience for the both of them. Seeing no signs of civilization, or even hearing any. No cars, no planes… just them and nature.
The only thing Clover could hear (and feel) was Ron's steady heartbeat, thumping in her ears. She tried to focus on the mission, their goal, returning to their own time… but Clover found herself a little distracted at the moment.
'Why am I so nervous? Although we ARE on a mission … and I don't even know who this guy is!' she mused. She quickly remembered that he'd leapt to her aid, when Tim Scam had been ready to freeze her.
The horse finally came to a halt, snapping Clover from her thoughts. "Why are we stopping?" she asked.
"I think we've arrived at our first clue… look" Ron suggested quietly, pointing in front of them. There was a large castle several hundred feet away, still obstructed by trees.
"Oh! Do you think Sam and Alex are in there? Or, maybe a way back home?" she asked.
"It's possible… but the odds are slim, at best."
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's just go and-" the blonde spy enthused, before Ron cut her off.
"I see two guards there. …and considering you told me that the people here chased you, I'd bet that the will go for them" Ron reasoned.
"I guess… But, right now, this is our only lead" Clover argued.
"True… Well, what do think we should do?" Ron asked, getting down from the horse and standing next to it.
"We should take them out, then slip inside…"
"Mmm… that might be a good idea, but I think I'd rather sneak inside through the back. That way if one of us is caught, then the other can decide whether to free them or keep moving" Ron explained, he was extremely surprised when the blonde girl simply nodded at him.
"Alright, sounds like a plan!" Clover declared, before pulling something from her bag and rushing at the guards. She bowled them over, continuing on into the castle.
"Wow, this is bringing back memories… and I don't even see any musicians around! I guess I'd better get a move on…" Ron chuckled to himself. He approached the entrance, before pausing and staring at the knocked-out guards.
X-=-=-=-=-=-=-X
"Well… this is a new one…" Alex commented, reflecting upon their latest predicament.
"Really, what gave you that idea?" Sam bit out, the redhead's voice betraying her irritation.
The two girls had managed to slip away from the villagers that had been chasing them… only to run into a group of armored guards, ones that had just been robbed by bandits. Naturally, the two friends had been blamed for the theft… merely for being in the right place, at the wrong time!
Now they were shackled in complete darkness, waiting for something to happen. Were they about to be sentenced, or simply executed? The two girls couldn't help but speculate, as they suddenly heard steps (and the sounds of scraping metal) drawing ever-closer.
Finally, they could make out a guard holding a torch. "Where are you taking us?" Alex asked.
"Let us go!" Sam pleaded.
"Did you really think you could get away from stealing from our beloved king?!" the guard demanded, smiling menacingly.
"I've never stole anything!" Alex angrily denied, she wasn't a thief!
"We are going to teach you what happens to thieves in our kingdom!" the guard threatened, preparing to deal with the two girls. Suddenly, he dropped to the floor.
"What?" both girls yelped, staring in wonder at what had happened.
"Well… what do we have here?" asked a second guard, staring at the friends inside their cell.
Both spies looked worried for a moment, what was HE going to do to them?
"What an odd place to keep… a zucchini!" the man crowed.
'What? A ZUCCHINI? What the hell did that- …no…' Sam could only stare, in horror, at the man in front of her. 'No, there is just NO WAY!'
Alex was positively glowing, a big smile on her face.
"How are you girls doing? Need some help?" Ron teased.
"Yes, please!" Alex quickly confirmed, she couldn't BELIEVE her luck.
"No!" the redhead denied. "What are you even doing here!? No, wait, HOW are you even here?!"
"Would you believe I happened to be passing by?" Ron asked, already sure of her answer.
"In a castle… in a DUNGEON… IN THE MIDDLE AGES?" Sam deadpanned. "…while wearing a suit of armor?" she added.
"Wow, you sound like your teammate…" he muttered, under his breath. "So, as I was saying… how about I release you and we all go home TOGETHER?" he offered, smiling.
"I'm not going to work with a CRIMINAL!" Sam barked back.
"Would you rather stay here?" he asked, his tone bone-dry.
…
"Come on, Sammy… We can get out of here first, then try and get him the next time… okay?" Alex pleaded, pouting.
"Fine…"
Ron stared at her for a few seconds, thinking carefully. "Okay, so, before I release you… you have to promise me something first."
"Huh? L-like what?" Alex stammered, sounding nervous. What was he going to ask her for? The noirette's pulse started to race.
"You have to promise me that you won't try to pull my mask off, the second I let you out…" the blonde boy declared.
'Oh, THAT'S what he wants?' Alex whimpered silently, a little disappointed. She looked up at him, "sure thing! We promise, right Sam?"
…
…
"Sammy! Come on!" Alex yelped.
The redhead's silence was palpable.
Ron huffed in exasperation. "Fine, if that's the way you want it…" He pointed at Alex. "YOU need to stay in between me and the zucchini, okay?"
"I'm not a zu-" Sam screeched, the ravenette next to her talking over Sam's inevitable rant.
"I will! No problem! Leave it to me!" Alex agreed excitedly.
"You are WAY too happy about this…" the redhead observed.
"Hey- if it gets us out, then I'm all for it!" Alex insisted, shooting her friend an innocent smile.
Ron grabbed a ring of keys from the unconscious guard, unlocking the cell door. He freed Alex first, as there was no danger of her attacking him.
Ron moved to Sam, the girl glaring at him as fiercely as she could while he unshackled her. Ultimately, they all exited the dungeon. The girls were now wearing armor as well, stealing their disguises from two guards Ron had knocked out.
"Wow, you saved us again! How can I- WE ever repay you?" Alex asked/offered next to him, smiling and trying to act sexy. It was quite difficult, while wearing a suit of armor that covered her entire body.
"I bet you were planning on leaving us here, if Alex didn't ask you that…" Sam muttered in indignation from her spot at the back.
Ron simply shrugged, "not really. I already promised Jerry and Clover I'd help, so I was going to free you either way-"
Alex was shocked. "Wait… Jerry sent you to help us?!"
"Alex! He's obviously lying… Even if he isn't responsible for the disappearing scientist, he's still up to something…" Sam insisted, eyeing him.
"Well, you're partially right. Jerry DIDN'T send me, but I DID end up here… and I'd rather go back home, if that's alright with you?" Ron teased, glancing back at the redhead.
Alex tried to lean against his side… only for her helmet to bump against his shoulder. 'Ouch, not the best time…' she reflected.
X-=-=-=-=-=-=-X
Clover wasn't having a great day…
Which was weird, considering she was about to become a QUEEN!
Maybe it was because she was about to be forcibly married to a creep who wanted to change time and become the new monarch, by destroying the current royalty?
Yeah, that must have been it…
Said blonde teen was tied to an odd-looking stone, wearing a smelly outfit that was supposed to be her new wedding dress. 'Please, if he tries to kiss me again I'll throw up… preferably all over his face!'
He was currently telling her his master plan… to take control of the kingdom and make billions with his technology, when he got back to his own time.
There was NO WAY she'd let him get away with that, Clover WAS NOT missing her chance to beat Mandy in that costume contest!
A few guards approached her, she sneered at them.
"Just go away… leave me alone!" the blonde teen spat.
"Clover, it's us…" Alex opened her helmet's visor, revealing her identity, Sam did the same.
"Oh, you guys are okay! Wait… so who's-" Clover cut off, staring at the final knight accompanying her friends.
"I would rather keep my helmet on, if that's alright with you…" Ron shot back.
"So, everyone made it after all! Now we can get that creep who thinks he can make me marry him… and wear this tacky dress!" Clover screeched in rage.
"Nice priorities…" Sam groaned, she moved closer to her friend's ear. "Are we REALLY working with this guy? He claimed that you and Jerry agreed to it…"
Clover nodded for confirmation. "Yeah, just before I lost contact with him, he okayed it…"
The pair suddenly noticed Ron moving closer. "Do you need any help getting out of those?" the boy asked, pointing at the iron cuffs holding Clover in place.
"Huh? No, I got this, it'll just take a second to-" Alex replied. Ron simply grabbed one of the cuffs and- with a simple pull- snapped it in two, freeing one of Clover's hands.
"We don't HAVE a second…" the blonde declared, moving to the second restraint and freeing Clover completely.
"Of course he can just break them like that, why not?!" Sam hissed, backing away.
…
The group moved to the top of the tower, Clover having explained to the others where the villain was keeping the crystals allowing him to travel through time.
They arrived to see him standing there, in full plate armor. He was a bit surprised, why were several of his guards bringing his future queen to him?
Before he even had a chance to ask, Clover jumped as high as she could. She did a flip in the air and kicked him directly in the face, knocking him out completely.
"Nice work!" Ron enthused, moving towards the downed villain.
"Yeah… but, kind of anti-climactic…" Alex whined.
"Hey, it's better than him attacking more innocent people…" Sam reasoned.
"True…" the ravenette agreed.
…
Clover grabbed the crystals, then completely destroyed the man's machine. She made her way down to one of the lower floors, freeing the captive scientists.
Now, with everything wrapped up, there was only one thing left to do… return home.
They were all sucked into a blue portal, appearing back where they wanted to be… at the top of the WOOHP tower!
White light filled their vision, the scene becoming much more vivid.
"Welcome back, girls!" their boss Jerry greeted them, a few WOOHP agents rushing in and escorting the exhausted scientists away.
"Jerry, you're still here!" Clover was ecstatic to see their boss was around, they had all been concerned about changing too much in the past.
"Of course I am…" He smiled warmly, before looking at the odd man in the room. "Well, onto business…"
At some point, the blonde boy had abandoned his purloined suit of armor. He was dressed in his original black bodysuit, a mask still hiding his face from view. "Yeah… Nice to finally meet you face to face Jerry, but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. You know, all the excitement and stuff…" Ron glanced around, noticing that the room was full of men in suits… waiting to apprehend him.
"Indeed, I feel the same way. I'm sure we can make you comfortable for a few hours… before we have a nice, long chat" the older gentleman responded, his tone calm.
"Wait… are you telling me that, even after helping out, you're STILL planning on putting me in a cell?" the blonde boy asked, fiddling with something inside his pocket.
"Let's not be hasty, I never said anything about a CELL. But while I do appreciate the help you provided the spies… I would like to know who you are, before letting you leave…" Jerry admitted.
"Wait… you're gonna let him GO?" Sam asked incredulously.
"He hasn't really done anything yet, per se. …and he DID help you during several cases. Therefore, I'm confident that we could save this talk for a different time. But, for now, I will have to ask you to remove your mask…"
"See, that's the problem… I'm rather shy about my looks, and would rather not scar these lovely girls…" Ron answered smoothly, shooting a smile at Jerry.
"He called me lovely~" the ravenette spy crowed to her two friends with glee.
"He said that about ALL of us" Clover pointed out. "Also… I'm pretty sure he said it to convince Jerry, more than anything."
"Mm… I see, that IS a problem, would it be better if the girls left?" The older man wasn't budging, there was only one way this was going to go.
Ron simply smiled. "No, there's no need for that anymore…" His voice sounded confident, far too confident. "Didn't you think it was odd, that I never tried to get out earlier? Why I let all of you surround me like this?" Ron teased, spreading his hands wide.
The girls, and Jerry, noticed The Actor had something shiny in his right hand.
"What?! J-Jerry, he has one of those time crystals!" Clover shouted, shocked. "He can jump through time, if he wants to!"
"Oh, so you finally noticed. Too bad you're too late…" the ex-sidekick crowed, throwing the crystal in his hand over everyone's heads.
"Look out!" Jerry called out, trying to snatch it out of the air before the crystal could hit its target. His hand reached out, only barely grabbing the object before it slammed into the ground.
"Wow! Nice catch, Jerry!" Alex praised their boss, the gentleman in question straightening up and dusting off his suit.
"Nothing to it, girls… Now, about our new- Wait… where did he go?" Every occupant of the room stared at the spot Ron had been only seconds earlier.
The patch of floor in question was completely empty, their gazes swiveled to the now open door on the far side of the room.

And that's done!
