Check out Acolyte of Magic, a Percy Jackson Story that is inspired by Dark Risings. I am so proud of this story and all I've learned as a writer.

I am honored with the trust you are all showing me. I know I deleted a billion stories in the past.

Thank you.

Should Ren get the Mind's Eye of Kagura?

Ren could not keep his cool as Naruto and Sasuke chowed down on Tsunami's cooking, to the point they puked then demanded more. Snapping, he growled at them both. "Seriously, this place has enough issue with finding food, do you really think this is necessary?"

Naruto glared at him, but oddly Sasuke seemed to understand. "You make a good point."

"You're not the boss of me, Ren!" Naruto actually growled out.

"No, and I stopped seeing you as family years ago, but I do have a brain and I am your comrade so you should at least listen to that." Sighing as Naruto sneered at him he felt something in chest snap and he knew he had to leave before he said something he'd regret. So he turned to Hayate. "I am going to go meditate on the roof, is that okay?"

"Sure, kid, just be safe."

And so he was off, focusing on his mental skills... not once noticing the slight yellow glow around his body. Not even as the moon shined above, making him like like an angel in the night. He would continue to glow as he reached out, sensing this person and that moving about, animals and trees and so much more. Over and over, he calculated their distance, knowing where they were at all times.

It wouldn't be until Hayate came up the roof, fast enough that Ren barely sensed it with his meager talent, that someone noticed the soft glow on his skin.

In fact, The man gasped. "Ren!"

"What?" He asked, looking at the man after two hours of meditating, having been trying to bury the burning pit in his chest.

His hands were grabbed, forcing him to look. "You're glowing!" And so he was, a soft yellow that seemed to fill the air with peace and power. "Your rage, it seems to have unlocked something in you. I've heard of this happening to bloodline users, you must really be an Uzumaki."

"The rage! I can feel something in my chest, I thought it was just rage but maybe... " He looked at his chest, channeling his chakra toward it... and before he knew it, three silver and gold chains blasted out of his body, wrapping around his mentor, who looked at him in complete and utter shock.

"I can't feel my body, or my chakra! Your chains, they have actually managed to seal me off entirely!"

Ren let go of his mentor, realizing he could feel the chains almost like they were limbs. He moved them about, twisting and curling them. Turning, he pushed as hard as he could and watched as the chains blasted out over a hundred and fifty feet, wrapping around a tree and crushing it into nothing.

Both young ninja looked at each other in shock.

"I... sensei... how?"

"There was stories, when I was a kid, that the Kyuubi was restrained by powerful golden chains when it attacked. I never found out who made them, but maybe you're related? This is amazing kid, seriously amazing. You just gained two, tremendous gifts..." Ren started to cry, startling Hayate. "Why the sad face?"

He sighed. "I've never really had anything, for once being given something amazing it...it feels amazing."

Hayate put a hand on the boy's shoulder. "I am glad for you, kid, I really am. Now... we have something big to train in over the next six days. Are you ready?"

Ren nodded, eager in a way he had not been in a very, very long time. "Yes sir I am."
