We open in a section of outer space. A massive brown ship is attacking a much smaller teal ship, somewhere out near Jupiter.
Inside the large ship a series of black, orange and red robots worked on the machines.
"Hull damage: 20 percent. Weapons system's still operational" Said one of the robots before looking at the ship's captain, an humanoid alien with a black suit and small pieces of spiky armor on his shoulders, his arms were Green and looked like a mesh of twisted tentacles, while his face had tentacles on the chin, his red eyes shining, sitting firmly in his chair.
"I have come too far to be denied" The alien screamed before his ship fired more lasers to the other spaceship as they came out of the asteroid belt "The Omnitrix shall be mine, and there is not a being in the galaxy that dares stand in my way"
On Planet Earth, a 10 year-old boy with tan-skin, grey hair and brown eyes in his class was folding down a paper into an origami bird. He wore a shirt that was teal on the upper half of the torso, and black on the under, with a light beige line splitting both and a white 10 on the back. He also wore brown pants with extra pockets at the side and black sneakers.
The boy smiled and kept the bird on his table before watching over the clock, when suddenly he saw a paper plane fly and land on the teacher's hair, the woman turned with a glare on her face making everyone take a step back.
About 15 seconds later, Dave looked up at the clock, begging for the class to be over as the seconds ticked by.
"Come on! Come on!" He whispered.
"And I just want to remind you all that I'm teaching summer school this year and it's not too late to sign up" The teacher said.
"Yeah, right" another student said as the bell rang once the clock struck 3:00 p.m. "Yes! Outta here!"
The students then stood up from their desks and left the room.
"Have a good vacation and I hope to see you all again in the fall," Mrs. Reolf said. "David"
David, or Dave. Halted where he stood and turned to face the teacher.
"Could I have a word with you before you go?" She held up the paper airplane.
"But I-" he pleaded
"You're the only one that was playing with paper" She said pointing to the origami on his desk.
"That was supposed to be a gift" He meekly argued, it wasn't a lie, but it also wasn't the best proof, and the hard look from the teacher just confirmed that he wasn't going to escape, he only groaned, embarrassed and annoyed, before walking to the desk.
Outside, a kid with black hair, a white shirt and blue jacket and glasses backed up against a tree as two bullies smiled mischievously.
The first was a boy with tan skin, black hair, black eyes, and a dark blue shirt with a game controller image on it. This was the leader of the duo, Lorenzo.
The second kid was another boy with fair skin, ginger hair, and a blue shirt with a winged skull logo. This was Lorenzo's stepbrother, Chet.
"Normally, we'd take your money and beat you up," Lorenzo said, punching his fist into his hand. "But since it's the last day of school, we're gonna give you a break. Now fork over the cash so we can get out of here!"
Dave turned around and saw the scene
"I don't want to deal with this" he grumbled trying to walk in the opposite direction, but then he heard the complaints of the other kid.
"I don't have any lunch money, i swear" He pleaded while Lorenzo was holding him and Chet was getting ready to give him a wedgie.
"Right, maybe you left it on your underwear" Lorenzo mocked.
"Leave him alone!" Dave said from behind them as he glared at the two bullies.
"Back off, shrimp!" Chet said.
"I said leave him alone!" He repeated
"Oh, looks like we got ourselves a hero!" Lorenzo mocked. "Suppose we don't want to back off."
The two then walked over to him.
"Yeah, what are you going to do about it, Kiran?" Chet added to the mock.
The three glared at each other before Dave charged them with a shout… About a minute later, he was being shaken upside-down as his money fell out of his pockets.
"Thanks a lot," The kid said, having his money already taken.
"I was just trying to help," Dave said, trying to hide his annoyance and his dizziness.
"Next time you try to be a hero, make sure you can back it up."
"Well maybe next time I won't even try to help," he said.
"Quiet!" Lorenzo said as the last of Dave's money fell out.
"Look at the dough." Chet said.
Lorenzo dropped Dave.
"Thanks for the last tip losers" Lorenzo said before he and Chet ran away. Dave lifted himself up to clean his clothes before he heard a honking and yellowish-grey RV pulled up to the corner.
The driver was a man in his late 50's with grey hair and a red Hawaiian shirt with beige pants and brown boots.
"Come on, Dave. We're burning daylight! I want to get to the campsite by nightfall!"
"Yeah" Dave said getting slightly more cheerful before running into the RV.
"I have so been looking forward to this" He said before turning and seeing there was someone else on the table. She was a 10 year-old girl with blonde hair that reached her shoulders and has a blue hairpin. She wore a long-sleeved blue shirt with lighter blue in the center and a cat icon at the chest, white pants and white shoes
"What are - you doing here?" Turns and sees the old man "What is SHE doing here?"
"Take it easy. This wasn't my idea. Somebody convinced my mom that going camping for the summer would be a good experience for me" The blonde girl said
"Connor, please. Tell me you didn't…" He said
"I thought it would be fun if my niece Sammy came along with us this summer. Is… that a problem?" Connor asked
Dave and Sammy look at each other. The Rustbucket starts driving away.
"Aw, I can't believe it. I wait all school year to go on this trip, and now the queen of cooties is along for the ride" Dave complains
"Hey. I had my own vacation already all planned out too, you know" Sammy said "My family was planning to go to europe. But that plan fell down and only Amy went with Johnny"
"It's he still acting all casanova?" he asked
"Yep. But Amy will tolerate him trying to get any lady he crosses for that trip to europe" The Blonde girl sighed "What about Emily. Why didn't she come?"
"She simply didn't want to come" He explained "trust me, i tried my best, but she really wanted to stay"
"Well that stinks. It's less people to talk through a whole summer" the blonde said "well, less people who i share stuff in common"
"Oh please. We totally have something in common' He said
"The only thing we coincide it's baking" the Blonde pointed out.
"... Shoot" He sighed
"Told yah" Sammy said a bit proud.
"Geek." Dave mocked.
"Jerk." Sammy shot back.
"Something tells me it's going to be a long summer." Connor said as they went onto the highway, route 66 to be precise.
Later in the day, the trio gather in the woods around a table-bench. Connor brings to the table a bowl full of pale, still-wriggling grub.
"Chow time" He announced, Dave stared at the plate in shock.
"…Okay, I give up. What - is that?" He asked, trying to hide his disgust.
"Marinated mealworms. Hard to find them fresh here. You know, they're considered a delicacy in some countries"
"-And totally gross in others?" Sammy added also disgusted.
One of the worms falls out the bowl and crawls on the table.
"If these don't sound good, I've got some smoked sheep's tongue in the fridge...?" Connor said before slurping another mealworm.
"Urgh, couldn't we just have a burger or something?" Dave asked before both him and Sammy gave Connor a pleading smile.
"Nonsense. This summer's gonna be an adventure for your taste buds! I'll grab the tongue" He said before walking inside the RV.
"Okay, I got a half-eaten bag of corn chips and a candy bar in my backpack. What do you got?" Dave asked
"Some rice cakes, hard candy and a couple of butterscotch" Sammy said
"Think we can make them last the whole summer?' He asked, but they knew it was a lost fight and sulked knowing they definitely had to eat some of Connor "exótic" dishes.
Back in space, the battle was still going on as the Chimera Wrath blasted lasers at the smaller ship, and eventually hit the back of it, destroying the engine.
"They're propulsion systems have been destroyed," The pilot reported to Vilgax. "Prepare to board!"
"I want the Omnitrix now!" Vilgax stated.
However, in a last effort of defense, the smaller ship fired a green laser from the top fin and it blasted the upper area of the Chimera Wrath, which caused a huge explosion, which destroyed the pilot and severely injured Vilgax. But not before the Chimera Wrath fired one last laser, which destroyed the ship and there was nothing left but the front.
The ship sent out a space capsule just before it was destroyed and it separated to sent out a pod that was hurtling down to Earth to find its destination.
Back down at the campsite, Dave was playing on his gaming system while Sammy was on her laptop. Both on opposite ends of their campsite.
Connor came up to them holding a bag of marshmallows as they continued on their activities.
"Who wants to roast marshmallows?" He asked, trying to lighten up the mood, but noticed it wasn't working. "Okey… what about telling some scary stories?'
"Scarier than having to spend your summer with this reek of a nerd?" Dave sarcastically snarked. Promoting Sammy to give him a glare before turning back to her laptop.
"I'd like to, Grandpa, but I'm busy looking up cures for extreme doofusness" She mocked. "Nothing yet, Dave, but let's not give up hope!"
"Enough , you two. We're all in this together. Either you can mope around all summer or we can have some fun" Connor encouraged, but you could feel he had a slight rasp of anger.
"I vote for moping." Sammy frowned.
"I'm going to take a walk. I'll be back soon" said Dave as he got up, left his game on the floor and walked into the woods.
"I think you're starting to grow on each other." Connor said awkwardly.
"Give it a few days… or weeks… or decades" Sammy said bored.
Dave walks through the woods with his hands in his pockets.
"Aw, man. This is gonna be the worst vacation ever. I might as well have gone to summer school. At least I could been around for Emily" He rambled to himself.
Suddenly he heard a very strange noise and looked up, just to see a green streak meteor shoot across the sky.
"Woah. It's that a shooting star?" he asked in a mix of excitement and shock. But that quickly turned into fear when said shooting star completely changed its course and started to go in his direction.
"OH CRAP" He screamed before turning and running, just as the meteor crashed right behind him, the shockwave launching Dave and sending smoke and debris in the air. As it clears, Dave stares at the glowing crater, getting to his feet, albeit a bit dizzy.
"Well that was close" He muttered dusting himself off before carefully approaching the crater. And looking inside. He recognized a round form, and it seemed to be made from metal.
"It's definitely not a shooting star, It looks like a satellite or something."
The satellite was actually the space pod from earlier as it then cooled off from the heat of re-entry. Then, the ground that Dave was standing on suddenly gave way making him tumble down and found himself facing the pod.
"How many times do I have to get dirt off me?" He complained
He gets up, now with a full view of the pod. It opens itself before him, and with a beeping noise, a green light in the shape of an hourglass shines from it. It spills out; revealing it to be the centerpiece of a watch-like device. It was teal green on the faceplate. Which also was contained inside a black circle with 4 teal green smaller circles. The body of the watch was black-framed with gray supports and had a teal green button. As well as some white pieces that seemed to lock the gray and black parts together.
"...A watch? What's a watch doing in outer space?" Dave questioned, he wanted to go away, he really wanted to. But something inside of him also wanted to get closer, so he just sighed and said to himself "I'm really going to make everything i tell Emily not to"
Stepping closer to the pod, outstretching his arm. As he does, the watch suddenly detached itself, taking an almost rubber shape and leaped out of the pod right onto his wrist, latching itself to Dave.
"AH. Get off me! Get it off, get it off!" Dave shouted in a panic shaking his arm, but the watch didn't budge a bit. So he tried to rip it with his other hand, which only made him fall. Dave ended climbing out of the crater and started running.
"GRANDPA" He screamed in panic. Back at the camp, Connor was looking towards the forest.
"Hm. Dave's been gone a while. Well, I guess he can't get into too much trouble out here" Connor said
"Unless he wound up bear food" Sammy said concerned, before feeling Connor looking at her "Okey not helping"
In the woods, Dave tries to pry the watch off with a stick, but the stick breaks, angering him.
"Great. Now I have to explain that I somehow found a weird space watch on a meteor satélite and it got stuck in my hand… And that's a sentence i just said" He sighed
He falls to his knees in defeat, and starts fumbling with the device to see if anything can be done. He accidentally pushes the button and its faceplate springs up.
"Woah, maybe this is how i can take it off"
The faceplate's hourglass morphs into a diamond encasing a black silhouette.
"Or not…"
Curiosity got the best of him again, and pressed down the face plate, causing a flash of teal light to come out.
The watch sunk down into his arm and from where it sinked, brown-orange rocks erupted from his skin and worked their way down his body until they reached his eye. Then, cracks appeared in the outline of his now rocky skin and the watch symbol appeared on his chest. His head erupted into flames with a face outline inside as he screamed in hysterics and fear.
"I'M ON FIRE! I'M ON FIRE!" Dave screamed and started running and screaming in circles before suddenly stopping when he noticed a detail "I'm on fire and… I'm okay?" He realized confused. "Okey this is so weird. But at least i'm totally hot!" he half-cracked a joke trying to calm himself down.
He turned around and saw a slightly rotten tree behind him.
"Well, rotten wood shouldn't burn" He said before focusing and creating a small fireball on the tip of his finger "Here goes"
He slings his wrist forward, shooting out the fireball out, blowing a branch off the tree entirely.
"Okey, that's definitely not a dream" He said, not noticing he was creating a slightly bigger fireball "Uh?"
In an instant reaction, he shook his hand throwing the fireball towards the tree, it impressively broke through 2 of them, but also started to cause a fire that was spreading quickly.
"Oh no. Stop"
Dave runs to the fire, and tries stomping out a flame, only for it to erupt into a larger one.
"Oh man. I am gonna get so busted for this" he said worriedly.
From the campsite, Sammy and Connor saw the smoke from the fire rising up from the trees.
"What's that?" Sammy asked, getting up from her seat.
"Looks like the start of a forest fire." Connor said. "We should let the ranger station know. Probably some darn fool out there, messing with something he shouldn't." Then the two got a shocked realization on their faces. "Dave"
He then reached into a chest and got out two fire extinguishers and handed one to Sammy.
"You'd better take this."
The two run into the forest towards the smoke overhead.
Dave, still as the fire being tries to put out the fire.
"This is bad. This is real bad, anything i do to take out the fire only creates more" He said looking around
Sammy makes her way through the forest, spraying fires with her extinguisher, up until she sprays at Dave's back, causing him to turn around to look at her. When she saw him, she screamed, scared.
"Look, I know I look weird, but there's no reason to be scared." Dave said until Sammy slugged him with the fire extinguisher, knocking him back and then she blasted him with it, causing him to cough up foam.
"I don't know what you are, but you'll stay down there if you know what's good for you." Sammy warned.
"Hey, watch we're you point that" He said angry, accidentally starting a small flame on some leaves that we're around her foot.
"Ow!" She jumped back, causing Dave to gasp since that wasn't his intention, thankfully Sammy managed to put out the flame, holding her foot up in pain. She then held up the fire extinguisher. "I warned you."
"Try me, freak"
That caused her to stop and realize that there's only one person she knows who would ever call her that.
"Dave? Is that you? What happened?"
"Well, see, this meteor fell from the sky and almost smudged me. Except it wasn't a meteor or a satellite but this weird watch that jumped up onto my wrist and when I tried to get it off, I suddenly was on fire! Only it didn't hurt when I was starting this mega forest fire!" Dave explained.
Connor was extinguishing some flames before running up to Sammy.
"Sammy, are you alri- What in blazes?
"Grandpa, guess who?" She said as Dave waved nervous.
"It's me, Grandpa" He said awkwardly
"Dave? What happened to you?" He questioned.
"Well, when I was walking, this meteor-" Dave started to explain again
"-Erm, excuse me?" Sammy cutted him off before he did the entire tale again "Major forest fire burning out of control, remember?"
"Right. But what do we do? I can only create more fire" Dave said looking his hands
Connor thought for a moment.
"Backfire. Start a new fire and let it burn into the old fire. They'll snuff each other out. Think you can do it, Dave?
"Shooting flames? Yeah I can definitely do" He said before running towards a clear, finding another group of trees that wasn't burning. He prepared and shot a stream of flames causing a second fire that quickly engulfed the first, allowing Sammy and Connor to finish off what little remained. The tree then ran away. Later a park ranger arrived and looked around confused due to the fire already being out.
Back up in space on board the Chimera Wrath, one of the pilot robots was reporting to Vilgax, who was inside of a tank.
"What do you mean it's not there?!" Vilgax asked angrily. "This battle nearly cost me my life and you say the Omnitrix is no longer on board the transport?!"
Vilgax rose up from inside of the tank, showing he was in drastic condition. His entire body was basically mutilated from the explosion from earlier. His entire left side was basically destroyed with the bones sticking out. His right arm and leg were tattered and he was strapped to a breathing apparatus to keep himself alive while his body regenerated.
"Sensors indicate a probe was jettisoned from the ship just before boarding. It landed on the planet below there." the pilot reported.
Vilgax growled and turned to one of his robot scouts, which looked different to the rest "Bring it to me."
The robot complied and left the room.
Back at the campsite, Dave was explaining their story to Connor and Sammy. It's amazing how the log he was sitting on didn't burn to a crisp.
"And you say this watch just clamped up on your wrists?" Connor asked while Sammy tossed him a marshmallow.
"Hey this time it wasn't my fault!" Dave said as the marshmallow roasted on his hand and he tossed it into his mouth. "I swear!"
"I believe you, Dave" Connor reassured
"Think he's gonna stay a monster forever?" Sammy asked
"He's not a monster. He's an alien" Connor said, before noticing the looks from both Sammy and Dave "I-I mean...look at him. What else could' he be?"
"What, I don't wanna be this… 'fire guy' forever. How am I supposed to play Little League with Emily this fall if I charcoal the ball every time I catch a pop fly?" Dave said worried
"I would have thought of other stuff like hugging Emily first" The Blonde said, which just made the kid turned fire alien panic more.
"Don't worry, kid. We'll figure this thing out" Connor said, even if it was empty words to help him relax. I'm that moment the watch symbol on Dave's chest started beeping red
"Oh… i hope it's not a go-boom red" He pleaded
The watch released a bright red flash of light, when it faded, Dave stood on the log. Back to his normal self, with the watch still on his wrist.
"Hah! I'm me again" Dave cheered touching his own face.
"Well, at least we won't have to worry about you literally burning the bed" Sammy said, although she was truly relieved that whatever happened was only temporary, as Dave tried to pull the watch again.
"Damn it, still can't get this thing off" He complained.
"Better not fool with it anymore until we know exactly what we're dealing with" Connor said before grabbing a flashlight 'I'll go check out that crash site. You guys stay here until I get back"
A pod shoots from Vilgax's ship above orbit, landing deep in the woods, next to the Omnitrix's pod. Revealing itself as a gigantic It then separated its segments, sprouting three legs with no feet, two arms that sprouted claws with no hands, and its head popped out of the top with glowing red eyes.
It then scanned around and noticed the pod that the watches were stored in and then destroyed it with a laser.
Then, two round sauce-spider-like drones popped out of its shoulders and they went looking for the Omnitrix.
Dave sat on the bumper of the RV, observing the watch with a puzzled look.
"So somehow I ended up with a extrange space watch that turned me into a living campfire?" He said observing the watch, before touching the wheel and spinning "mmm, i wonder if-"
"BUSTED" Sammy shouted, taking him by surprise.
"Ha-ha, very funny. Like your face!" Dave said annoyed before going back to fiddling with the watch as the faceplate turned each time he twisted it.
"Grandpa said not to mess with that thing" the Blonde reminded him.
"I'm not messing with it. Im… okey fair i guess i am, but i just want to understand what happened" He sighed
"And you really think that's a good idea? What if you turn into a living flamestove again" Sammy said looking curious
"Yeah, And that's exactly why i'm only checking, if I see it actívate again, I stop" He said.
"Really… that's it?"
"Huh?"
"Come on. You can't tell me you aren't a little bit curious what else this thing can do?" Sammy said
"After what happened? No chance" Dave said
Meanwhile, Connor arrived at the crater in the woods and picked up a piece of shrapnel from the destroyed transport pod.
"I don't like this. Not one little bit." He said looking around, noticing the weird hole shapes on the ground.
"Look. I'm just saying that, if you can figure this thing out, maybe it can help people. And I mean, really help them" Sammy said
"Did you see what happened? This thing isn't made for help, i almost burned down an entire forest" Dave said angry before they heard a strange noise "Did you-"
"I did" Sammy said as they both splitted from the camper, Sammy grabbing a shovel just in case. Then one of the robots came out from the woods directly towards Dave, who rolled out of the way making it crash into the picnic table breaking it, the robot turned to see Dave, but Sammy slammed the shovel right into the visor, making it malfunction.
"Back off, Sparky. No flying tree-trimmer is going to hurt my cousin" Sammy screamed nailing the shovel a couple more times.
"Never thought I'd say this, but thanks for saving my life" Dave said
"Really?"
"What, it's not like I get into business with strange Killer robots every day" He said. But the robot sparking off made both jump, as it pointed it's weapons… to Sammy.
"Oh dear" the blonde gulped.
"Sammy run" he screamed before she started to do so. With the robot following her.
"Crap crap crap. I need to do something" he said before hearing the same sound and seeing another robot firing a láser. Dave rolled out of the way as the impact caused a huge cloud of smoke.
Once it dissipated, the robot looked around trying to find him, Dave peeked from behind a rock.
"I don't think we can wait for Connor, And Sammy won't be able to outrun that thing forever" he said before looking the watch "You better work"
Dave pressed the button, lifting the core again and showing the same silhouette as before, then he twisted the dial to show a silhouette of an insectoid creature with wings, he swapped to a humanoid reptile with some form of tail, and finally he stopped at a canine shape that was standing on all 4.
"Here goes nothing" He declared pressing down the core again
The watch sank into his wrist, causing his veins to pulse and expand rapidly, until they reached his eye, which he clenched shut. When he opened them again, they were fully orange. Afterwards, orange fur sprouted all over his body, his teeth turned to fangs and he grew three gills on each side of his collar. He stretched his three-fingered paw out and it sprouted black claws. The watch's symbol was on a black, teal and white shoulder pad on it's right front leg, and he let out a roar as the transformation ended.
The robot turned around detecting the energy surge, when suddenly the new alien jumped from the rock and immediately bit it's head, taking it down and then ripping it completely. The alien shook its head a bit before releasing it and growling.
He turned around and started to run towards the woods trying to find the noise.
"How do i lose this thing" Sammy whispered, she had hidden behind a tree, while the robot stalked the área. But her position was anything but comfortable. The robot looked, swapping its own filter vision to better analyze the terrain. Sammy was sweating in fear. The robot started to charge a láser, when both heard a strange roar.
The robot turned and saw the alien on a tree and shoot. Dave jumped to another tree whit a gorila/monkey like perfection, And continúed to confused the robot, giving Sammy time to move to a more secured área, grab a rock and throw it, it merely bounced of the robot, but that gave Dave an opening to jump and cut the laser arm with its claws. Then he bitted one of the claws off, followed by the other, and finally jumped into the head, ripping it away just like he did with the other robot. The head rolled up to sammy's feet who kicked it away
"Gross" She said before seeing the new alien "Okey, that's different to the other guy"
Sammy moved her hand in front of his face.
"No eyes. Then how did you see?" She noticed the gills pulse "Thats how… Can you talk?"
Dave merelly growled
"Hey, i'm just curious" She defended before looking at the destroyed robot "Whatever those things are, they're definitely behind the watch. We need to go back to the camp"
Dave nodded before twirling Sammy up and making her fall on his back.
"HEY" she screamed before Dave started to run. Forcing her to hold herself "THIS IS NOT FUNNY"
Connor stepped into the camp and saw the robot remains.
"This is not good" He said with a disturbed look, almost as if he recognized those machine "Why are these here… Dave? Sammy?"
Dave jumped out of the bushes… just as the watch started to blip. Detransforming mid air, and causing both him and Sammy to roll on the floor.
"Ugh, that was… Even weirder" he complained rubbing his head.
"Told you to not do that" Sammy moaned in pain, being over his back.
Back inside the RV, the family regrouped as Dave sighed, waiting for the punishment Connor was going to give them.
"I was worried you would get popular with that thing on your wrists. That's why I warned you not to use it until we know what the heck it its."
"Sorry, Grandpa." Dave said.
"In his defense… he used it to save me" Sammy said "One of those robots started to go after me… and i was admittedly curious on how the watch worked"
Connor looked at her. She wasn't lying.
"On the plus side, we figured out how to make them work." Sammy said "All you do is press that button, then when the ring pops up, just dial it in until you've got the one you want to be, slam it down, and then bam! You're a super-cool alien"
"More like I'm an alien. Not Even sure if super-cool it's what i would describe it"
"Seriously Dave? Don't you see what you can do? I repeat, you could make a difference. Like, a real difference" Sammy said. Effectivly repeating her earlier statement.
"Then once i take it off, You can have it" Dave said
"And what if you can't remove it?" Connor added "You already tried to no avail. And i doubt those things that attacked you care if you end alive to remove it"
Dave tensed. He did have a point.
"Whatever. I'm sure those things were just something that was close to the pod. Doubt we see more" He said crossing arms.
"Mayday! Mayday!" A ranger from the radio reported. "We're under attack by some kind of- I know you're not going to believe me- but robot!"
"Sounds just like those things that attacked us" Sammy said. "They must be looking for the watch"
"Well, i'm not risking it. I'm going to hide under the bed" Dave said with a hint of fear.
"Or. You could go and face the robot like you did before"
"That was a desperate moment" Dave said "I don't want this. I'm not even good to be a hero"
"But you are. You saved me from those two robots, even using another alien that you didn't have any ideas what it would do" The Blonde said, making Dave stop.
"You… really think I could do something like that again?" He asked
"Only one way to find out" Sammy said, placing a hand on his shoulder. Dave observed the watch for a moment.
Outside near the robot attack, the Tennysons reached a clearing as the watch beeped Dave looked at Sammy who nodded with a smile, then looked to Connor, who nodded in approval.
"Okey" Dave sighed to win some courage before activating the watch and starting to rotate the silhouettes "Should i use this" Passed over a ghost looking silhouette "-this" he passed over the insect silhouette from before "this" He stopped at a robust shape that had some form of spikes popping on the shoulders.
"Hope this one it's strong," he said, pressing the button.
The watch sank into his wrist and it became encased in pale-green diamond before it covered his other arm and his head before it closed around his eye and it became fully golden. Four spike-like diamonds, the lower pair smaller than the upper pair, grew out of his back and his clothes morphed into a bodysuit, almost entirely black, only having a teal green V cut on the chest, right under the watch symbol which was right on the center of the chest as the transformation ended.
"Nice" Sammy commented "So what can this guy do?"
"I don't know." Dave said looking at his hand "But I hope it's going to be helpful."
The robot destroyed the RVs in the trailer park with its lasers, prompting the campers to run away in fear as the Tennysons ran up and they gazed in awe at the sheer size of the robot compared to the drones.
"Whoa!" Sammy gasped.
"Looks like Papa Robot this time." Dave said "Okey, I'll get Gearhead's attention, you guys get the campers to safety"
Connor and Sammy run off. The alien eyes glow, and he runs towards the giant robot As the campers ran away, one of them tripped and a ranger tried to help him get up. But before he could do anything, the robot grabbed him and he screamed.
"Leave him alone!" a voice commanded, catching the robot's attention and it turned its head to see the diamond alien. It scanned him before catching sight of the watch symbol and it beeped in confirmation. It had found what it was looking for.
"You want somebody to pick on? Try me" Dave shouted.
The robot let the ranger go and dropped him onto his van before firing a laser at Dave, sending him flying into an RV before firing another laser to blow it up.
A green crystal blade came out of the wreckage of the RV and Dave pulled himself out, revealing the blade to be formed from his own arm. "Okay, I'll admit. This is cool." He said as the arm grew crystal spikes.
The robot walks towards him. Dave's eyes glow, he decides to test out his new blade arm and attacks the robot with it. The robot jumps in the air to avoid it, spinning its three legs and falling down on to him.
"Uh-oh. Think I'm in trouble" He said with a bit of struggle.
Connor and Sammy save the ranger.
"What is going on here?" He asked
"You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you." Sammy said "Now come on"
The ranger hesitates as Sammy and Connor run off, but runs once the giant robot throws the diamond alien into his truck, just barely missing him.
Dave starts dodging the robot's laser blasts and one of them hits a tree, causing it to fall down towards Sammy. The Blonde stands paralyzed and wide eyed as the tree is split into two by Dave after growing a mountain of spikes on his back and both halves fall besides her.
"Are you okey?" He asked
"Yeah… that's twice you saved my butt" She said, but before Dave could answer the robot grabbed him, and attempted to rip him apart with its other arm, but as it grabbed Dave's arm, he concentrated to turn it into its spiked blade form, destroying the robot's left hand completely. The robot then blasted Dave away with the laser on its wrist, making him land in a crater.
"Dave" Connor lowly gasped concerned. Not wanting the other civilians to hear him.
Dave gets up and tries using his arms to block the next blast. He does momentarily, as the laser reflects off his arms, sending split beams to fly in all directions. However, he can't hold it and is pushed back; but now, on the ground, he gets an idea.
"Get out of there. Run" Connor screamed.
The next shot fires and Dave holds his palms up to it. He is still pushed back by it a little, but then he grew a pair of spikes on his feets to anchor himself and continue blocking the attack.
"What comes around, goes around." He declared "Let's see how you like it, techno freak"
Dave cuts the giant robot in half with the reflected laser blast, destroying it.
"Alright!" Sammy and Connor shouted.
"Way to go D-" The old man stopped himself, realizing he was about to give away his sorta grandchildren's secret identity. "Diamond-head guy"
"Diamondhead… i actually like that name" He said before looking at the robots remains "Well, I think my work here is done"
Diamondhead ran away. Whit Sammy and Connor doing the same.
"Who was that guy?" One of the male campers asked.
"More like what was that" A female camper added. But everyone was confused.
Back up in space, where drones were making repairs to the Chimera Wrath, Vilgax received the information regarding his scout robot's destruction.
"Failure!? Unbelievable!" Vilgax shouted. "That puny Earth being who's keeping the Omnitrix from me will soon hang from my trophy wall!"
Back at the campsite, Connor and Sammy were finishing packing up their sleeping bags and other luggage back into the Rust Bucket.
Connor then noticed someone was missing. "Where's Dave?"
"I haven't seen him since breakfast." Sammy stated.
Soon, a dust cloud came speeding up and the stopping to a screeching halt. The smoke cleared to show a blue-skinned velociraptor-like alien with black skin on it's arms and legs. The alien had a long prehensile tail with blue and black stripes. It's arms ended with three fingered hands with scissor-like claws and instead of feet, it had blue wheel-like spheres at the end of their legs. A blue and black mask lifted from its face, revealing the green eyes with black markings. He also wore a jumpsuit-like version of Dave clothes with the watch symbols on his chest.
"Dave?" Connor asked
""Yep." Dave said. "Hey! Check this out!" He said as her mask closed and he grabbed the cooler, TV, sleeping bags, and other luggage and packed it into the car at lightning-quick speed. "Pretty fast, huh?"
And that was when his watch timed out and morphed back to normal.
"That should save some time" he said, before grabbing a brown shoulder bag with a hindu symbol "If i'm going to be stuck with this thing, at least it can help a bit"
"You're not thinking of going overboard right?" Sammy said, crossing her arms.
"No no no. Just… okey maybe i was, but not every time" He said "Like. I'm stuck with it, i should have some right to use it as i want"
"With a device as powerful as that watch clamped on you, my guess is we better help you learn, fast" Connor "That thing, it's no toy son. You have to use it wisely"
Dave sighed
"I have a feeling this summer it's going to be anything but great"
"It's certainly going to be interesting " Connor said
"Where'd you go anyway?" Sammy asked
"Just had to take care of a couple of things before our vacation really got rolling" Dave said lifting his shoulderbag. Although he had taken a small turn to do… some business.
Lorenzo and Chet were hanging from a tree branch by their underpants.
"Dude, how did we get up here?!" Lorenzo asked.
"Not sure." Chet said. "It all happened so fast."
"Hey! Somebody! Anybody! A little help here please!" Lorenzo called out as the cars rolled past, ignoring them.
Okey, i really wasnt planning on releasing this anytime soon. But whit Ben 10 having it's 19th aniversary, it kinda fitted far too well.
That said, i don't plan to publish the next episode that soon. I will try to have an advantage of at least 2 or 3 episodes before doing it. Plus i do have to finish my other fics too. This one its a bit easier-esk now thanks to the first couple of events not changing much aside from character details.
Overall, i'm planning to bare-minimun cover all 4 main series of the OG continuity. There will be changes down the line, new aliens, references, etc. And maybe even original material.
I'm not taking this fic ultra serious in the sense that i will have fun and add aliens from other shows (altough more for the fun aspect) And make some direct references. Altough that's for the future.
Likewise, some parts latter are going to be a bit more edgy. Wich is why i decided to set the fanfic one T rating from the start. Now don't worry i won't go too mad whit the edgy factor to the point where it feels like Marvel's Ultimatum. But some will be more dark to a degree.
Guess it's worthy to clarify a few aspects from this first episode.
Dave it's not a Tennyson. Nor is he related directly to Connor or Sammy. He calls Connor Grandpa in a kind way. While he and Sammy are more so like those brother/sister kind of friends… with some conflict of course.
The omnitrix Dave has right now it's the prototype. Just like in the OG series, i just added "Unique" uniforms for each alien to not have a 1/1 copy of Dave shirt.
