Smurfocalypse chapter 26: All That Remains
The conjoined village as well as just about everything else surrounding it was burned to the ground. Hefty and Brainy managed to get Papa Smurf away from danger as the three of them had retreated into the nearby forest.
"What was that Papa Smurf?" Brainy asked.
"I-I'm not entirely sure myself Brainy." Papa Smurf said.
"Something threw fireballs at the village from up on the mountain." Hefty said.
"We need to find the others…" Papa Smurf said.
"Don't worry we will get every Smurf together again." Hefty said.
"But how? Every Smurf is scattered around these woods. We don't know anything about this place." Brainy said.
"We'll think of something. Now follow me and stay close." Hefty said as he began walking off into the distance.
Papa Smurf and Brainy kept close to Hefty as they explored the woods hearing the screams of others as they ran from the burning village. It was fortunate that Hefty was able to gather quite a few of the other Smurfs just by following their voices and it was even more fortunate that nothing else seemed to do the same. Once they found Harmony Smurf all they had to do was have him sound his trumpet to attract the others and it wasn't long before many survivors had come to them. It was quite depressing to learn that many of them had died.
"Let's go over it one more time. If your still here make yourself known." Hefty said.
A final head count was done and a list was made of the survivors.

Papa Smurf
Hefty Smurf

"So what do we do now Papa Smurf?" Handy asks.
"Papa Smurf what is going on?" Potter asks.
"Papa Smurf I'm scared." Carpenter says.
Papa Smurf was at a loss for words entirely. It was taking everything in his power not to let his emotions overcome him. This was a tremendous loss. Papa Smurf just looked down and Hefty stepped in.
"I think we should let Papa Smurf get his bearings. Let's try solving an issue on our own for a change." Hefty Said.
"But Hefty we don't even know what just happened!" Brainy said.
"Clumsy was asleep in that hut that got hit… I can't believe he's gone. He was my best friend." Brainy put his hands over his face after removing his glasses and stepped away from the group. Papa Smurf put a hand on his shoulder.
"There there Brainy… He's in a better place now." Papa Smurf said.
Hefty looked back at the two of them and then readdressed the group.
"I know this is very hard for all of us, but if we stay in these woods overnight we are going to die. We need a plan to move forward." Hefty said.
"That's all you have to say? What about our friends? Our family?" Reporter said.
"There is nothing we can do for them now. We need to focus on survival. Now Tracker and I have a backup plan. Tracker discovered a place not too far from here. It has walls, it's near the ocean, there's food." Hefty said
"What I found is an old human portside town. The humans called it Port Saint Augustus. I've already been there myself and it's been completely abandoned. We can go there and start a new life within safe man-made walls." Tracker said.
"But what do we do for food? Not even I could smurf up a new crop in time for winter." Farmer said.
"There's enough food there for all of us I've seen it myself." Tracker said.
"I say we take over this town and call it our own. We'll call it Port Saint Smurf." Hefty said.
"It's a two day hike from here. We may as well get started." Tracker said.
"Compasses out, Smurfguns loaded! We're moving out!" Hefty said.
Through this hard time Hefty and Tracker lead what is left of the Smurfs through the woods safely. They came across a human farmland where they were able to scavenge some vegetables that had avoided being harvested. They make camp with what very little they had in the center of the field dangerous as that was, and what was left of Hefty's knights guarded the others as they slept.
