Byakuya Kuchiki sat on the side of his Lieutenants bed. Steel eyes taking in every injury he had sustained in his fight against the ryoka boy. He could see Renji's chest rising and falling with each labored breath he took. His face scrunched in obvious pain as sweat coated his lovers forehead. No one bar a select few knew that he truly cared for his Lieutenant. He was in love with Renji Abarai and didn't feel ashamed for it.
"C-captain?" Renji struggled to speak as he fought against the pain to open his eyes. He could feel those familiar fingers tracing his tribal marks. A habit Byakuya had picked up on when they started dating twenty years ago. They didn't flaunt their relationship due to his position as Lieutenant and Byakuya as Captain and Head of the Kuchiki Clan.
"Hush Renji. You needn't speak." Byakuya said softly as he leaned over his dying lover. Due to the current threat he didn't have very long to spend with his lover. It hurt knowing he was losing yet another person he had given his heart to.
Renji locked eyes with his lover, his Captain and licked his dried lips. From the look in those steel pools, he was dying. "W-wait..for me...to...to re-reincarnate. Th-then f-find me again." He refused to allow his lover to be alone again. Renji would fight with all he had to return to his lovers side.
"I promise Renji, I will wait for you." Byakuya had known that when he fell for Renji that had been it for him. What he had felt for his Lieutenant outshone what he had once felt for his late wife. He still loved Hisana but he loved Renji Abarai more. No one would be taking his Lieutenants place because he knew Renji would reincarnate. And he would find him again no matter how long it took.
Renji fought against the darkness that had wanted to take him. "I love you." He needed Byakuya to know that he loved him. Just as much as he knew his Captain loved him. His eyes finally closed and he took his last breath.
"I love you too." Byakuya whispered into the now silent room as he pressed his forehead against his lovers. It would be some time before his lover would reincarnate but he would wait. Pulling away he pressed a kiss to his lovers forehead and then covered his body up.
In the wake of Renji's death no one heard the cry of a newborn baby boy being born. Or feel the familiar reiatsu of one Renji Abarai as he was reborn into the Potter family. Gifted with the new name Vincent Potter, older brother to one Rosalie Potter.

The chapter is short and I apologize for that. Its also kind of rushed but I needed to set the scene a bit. This is an AU Crossover of Bleach/HP as Renji being the main focus of the story. He is paired with Byakuya Kuchiki so this is a full yaoi fic. Don't like it then there is the back button...use it. I am making this story purely for fun. I don't make a profit off it and don't wish to. Takes place after the second battle against Ichigo, the one they have when they storm Seireitei to try and rescue Rukia. And will take place mainly in the Potterverse until good ole Voldy is taken care of for good. Not everything will remain Canon Renji will still have Zabimaru. Other than that I will spoil no more about this so early into its creation.
I hope to have the next chapter up and posted as soon as possible. After that I will try to post once or twice a week. Its my hope that this spans all of HP and Bleach with a lot of changes due to its status as being AU. Reviews are welcome and any flames will be ignored.
