Smurfocalypse chapter 54: The Gold Hearted
Clockwork was far faster than the other Smurfs, and unlike them did not have to stop to catch his breath. The artificial Smurf was probably close to a mile ahead of the others jumping from tree to tree choosing to take the high ground. Clockwork's entire anatomy has been redone to make him a fighter whereas he was originally created to be an artificial working machine. Clockwork sacrificed his normal Smurfy appearance for a more machine-like look. Attached to his wooden body is a thick layer of obsidian serving as either armor, or a layer of 'skin' over his wooden body like thick carapace protecting his inner workings with compartments that can only be opened with special tools Handy made for when he needs repair work or a part replacement. Clockwork appears more as an expressionless Smurf sized obsidian statue come to life now than he does a wooden toy. His wooden 'hat' was completely replaced with a metal once, and still could technically serve its purpose. Sitting inside Clockwork's head right now was a potion that could quite possibly literally do anything since it is one of Alchemist's experiments. The nozzle on Clockwork's metal hat was designed with the original intention of dispensing warm soup, but now how Handy had it designed it could contain anything. Including a dangerous concoction that was in its experimental phase that was likely going to be weaponized (it will).
Clockwork would eventually come across an encampment where demons seemed to be gathered. It didn't seem like they even knew he was there which was great in a way. They were stationed in a clearing like an outpost of sorts with basic structures. There was a figure amongst the nearly identical demons who was wearing black pants with lots of chains on them, a black Smurf cap, and was carrying a club with jagged bits of metal sticking out of it. He seemed to be the commander, and curiously enough could speak as he barked orders. Clockwork listened in.
"Alright! You have your orders! We are to bust into the port and slaughter every Smurf inside. No Smurf will be spared. Not Smurfette nor Smurflng, all will die!" The creature said.
This was all Clockwork had to hear before he boldly leaped from the trees landing in the center of the camp right on top of the campfire putting it out and sending burning logs flying in every direction.
"Who the hell are you?!" The demon demanded.
Clockwork did not respond, but instead bravely readied himself for combat assuming a combat stance.
"Kill him! Immediately!" The demon commanded.
Almost immediately a demon with a large axe approached Clockwork with great speed and swung its axe straight for Clockwork's head. Clock dodged and responded to the attack by punching the demon so hard in the face that it shattered its skull and sent it flying into a nearby tree killing it instantly. He was then surrounded by demons jabbing at him with spears. Clockwork grabbed hold of a spear and effortlessly yanked it from a demon's hand before killing it with its own weapon and throwing the spear close range into another demon's skull. The other spears shattered upon colliding with his obsidian armor. Clockwork grabbed an unarmed demon by the face with one hand and squeezed it so hard he broke several bones in its face with sickening popping noises as the teeth and eyeballs just popped out. He then threw the demon into a group of three others sending the whole group flying, but the survivors returned only to be hit by rapid punches that broke ribs and shattered teeth. The commanding demon rose an eyebrow in amusement as his entire unit was being slaughtered by a single Smurf.
"Interesting! I've never met a Smurf that could fight so well!" the demon said.
Clockwork did not respond. He stood there covered in blood expressionless after just slaughtering an entire camp without any mercy or remorse. Clockwork charged the last remaining demon with the spiked club and tried to punch its head right off its shoulders, but of course his attack was dodged.
"This will only lead to your death." The demon warned.
However Clockwork proceeded to continue to punch at the demon as his attacks were dodged quickly. Then He was struck with the club right in the face. It did just about as little damage as one might expect, and Clockwork didn't even budge.
"What the hell?!" The demon screamed.
Clockwork grabbed the demon by the feet and lifted the struggling creature into the air before repeatedly smacking the creature's body against a nearby oak tree. Clockwork continued to swing the demon into the tree causing heavy damage with each swing. Clockwork would not stop until the demon's neck broke after being slammed into the tree. It was then harshly dropped to the forest floor in a heap. The demon laid there seemingly dead, but then rose up. Its broken skeleton magically repaired itself and once rising to its feet its club soared through the air to meet its grasp.
"Not bad." The demon said.
Clockwork once again did not respond, but simply assumed another stance to continue the battle. It was clear his opponent had no clue he wasn't an ordinary Smurf as he continued to try to strike what would be Clockwork's vital organs provided he had a biological body. The demon swung his club only for Clockwork to avoid it and send a fist into its gut followed immediately by a kick to the face which sent blood and fangs flying and another punch which sent the demon flying into the tree once again. The demon kicked off the tree and flipped through the air landing back in front of Clockwork. It swung its club once again and Clockwork leaped backward to dodge it, but the creature then rushed Clockwork and swung its weapon multiple times in quick succession hitting Clockwork over and over again. Clockwork would flinch from each blow, but obviously wasn't feeling any of the pain. Clockwork continued to take damage from the flurry of blows before taking control of the battle by releasing Alchemist's mystery potion from the dispenser on his 'hat'. The demon's eyebrows raised as it was coated in the liquid and began to instantly burn and melt simultaneously while crying out and dropping its club. The demon was melted into the forest floor like a pile of melted plastic. Clockwork took to the trees again and continued to traverse the forest. However his opponent's body would repair itself, and the demon with the club would escape to fight another day.
