Smurfocalypse chapter 95: Clash in the forest! Captain vs Captain! A battle of wind and leaves
Smurfblossom, Smurfstorm, and Hefty exited Hefty's hut where they were immediately greeted by Doctor and Brainy. Doctor was ready to give the Smurf girls their mandatory checkup and finalize their integration into Port Saint Smurf.
"Alright, come with me for your mandatory checkup." Doctor said.
"I'm afraid that'll have to wait. Smurfstorm and I have business in the forest we must attend too." Hefty said.
"Business? But there are still three more refugees in the House of Waiting." Brainy said.
Reporter was exiting Hefty's hut with a grin on his face and a notebook full of content in the background. Surely this would be the juiciest issue of The Daily Smurf to date.
"About that… Brainy I want you to arrange sleeping bags for the refugees in the House of Waiting, send them a complimentary meal from the kitchen, and handle the paper work." Hefty said.
"You're closing interviews early? This will back us up considerably! We must stick to the work schedule." Brainy said.
"I'll entrust you with all of that. Anyway you have your orders." Hefty said as he walks away leading Smurfstorm to the gate to retrieve her bow.
Brainy walks off into Hefty's hut grumbling under his breath as he sits down at Hefty's desk and retrieves paper and a pencil.
"Where does Hefty get off shirking his duties and sticking me with the paperwork? Doesn't he realize I have very important research to return to?" Brainy said to himself as he began to write.
"Honestly… Passing off a date as 'business'…" Brainy said.
"I guess that just leaves you and me." Doctor said to Smurfblossom.
"Just lead the way Doctor." Smurfblossom said.
Smurfblossom follows Doctor to the clinic for her mandatory checkup as Hefty and Smurfstorm retrieve Smurfstorm's bow and quiver from the gate.
"I know the perfect spot we can do this where we won't be interrupted." Hefty said.
"Lead the way. You know your way around better than I do." Smurfstorm said.
Hefty leads Smurfstorm through the village over to the cemetery near the loose brick. He pushes the loose brick out of place effortlessly and steps through the hole in the wall into the forest followed by Smurfstorm.
"These are the woods we get all of our resources from. Without it Port Saint Smurf would collapse. Many good Smurfs fought and died to claim this land for the Port. It was The Battle of Port Saint Smurf." Hefty said.
Smurfstorm didn't say anything just listened and enjoyed the view of Hefty as he walked in front of her.
"This is the lumber yard where Timber Smurf works. It appears to be a little disorganized at the moment you'll have to excuse him for that. His duties as a knight take priority over gathering wood and he's our only worker at the moment." Hefty said as they passed Timber's place of work.
"So you established Port Saint Smurf all by yourself?" Smurfstorm asked.
"Many of my ideas contributed to Port Saint Smurf, but when we arrived here I wasn't even leader. I can't really take all the credit. Together we have forged a new world under the heavens." Hefty said.
"I see." Smurfstorm said.
"See Port Saint Smurf runs on cooperation just like any Smurf Village. Every Smurf has their own part and their own special job that keeps the village running like clockwork. I am just a figure head, the glue that keeps every Smurf together. The real heroes are the ones that come out here every day and work hard to bring us the resources we need." Hefty said.
As they walked through the woods they ran into Jupiter who was hauling a cart full of ore from the forest to the blacksmith. Hefty smiles and waves at him and Jupiter waves back.
"But if not for your strength and your incredible leadership skills where would they be?" Smurfstorm asked.
"I see your point Smurfstorm and perhaps I'm not giving myself enough credit, but I am a single Smurf. Without my friends and family there would be no Port Saint Smurf." Hefty said.
They made it to the spot where Hefty first fought Vanity and they stopped.
"Everything and everyone you saw on the way here is precious. Would you agree that it is an honor to throw your life on the line if needed to protect these Smurfs and this land?" Hefty said.
"I agree." Smurfstorm said.
"Then it's time for you to show me just how hard you can fight. Smurfblossom seems to think you're pretty strong, and I can't deny your capabilities just based off those muscles of yours. However, if you truly wish to be a knight of Port Saint Smurf you will need to endure dangerous life threatening training. Training that will push your mind and your body to the very limit. Are you prepared to experience such training?" Hefty said.
"I am." Smurfstorm said.
"Then take up your bow and be prepared for the fight of your life." Hefty said.
Hefty turns to face Smurfstorm and the aura of his Smurf Essence flares as his body undergoes the transformation from Smurf into super Smurf. Smurfstorm's eyes widened as she witnesses Hefty's muscle mass and size greatly expand until he towering over her. He then draws his sword and shield. Smurfstorm smirks.
"So this is the power of the strongest Smurf in the universe." Smurfstorm said.
"Don't think I'm holding back on you just because you're new to this community and you're a Smurfette. In my eyes you are a knight that's been through life and death battles countless times and I will treat you as such." Hefty said.
"I can respect that." Smurfstorm said.
"Very well. Let's get started." Hefty said.
Smurfstorm draws an arrow from her quiver and lines it up with her bowstring, but before she had the chance to attack Hefty had already closed the distance between them and slashed at her with his sword. Thinking quickly Smurfstorm leaps high into the air above Hefty's sword and fires an arrow down at Hefty who blocks it effortlessly with his shield. Hefty pursues her in the air quickly and while Smurfstorm was still suspended in the air he strikes her across the face with his shield causing her to scream out and come crashing back down to the ground hitting the earth with a thud. She quickly gets to her feet before Hefty can land and the aura of her Surf Essence begins to envelop her being as she draws back her bowstring.
"Leaf Storm!" Smurfstorm shouts.
Countless amounts of razor sharp leaves materialize from her Smurf Essence and pursue Hefty as he is landing. The razor sharp leaves cut into Hefty's body as they soar passed him. Hefty lifts up his shield to block some of the attack.
"Wind Cutter!" Hefty shouts as he swings his sword.
A huge gust of wind shoots from Hefty's sword causing Smurfstorm to jump into the air to avoid the attack. Smurfstorm goes to fire an arrow, but Hefty had anticipated her strategy and met her in the air. He quickly sheaths his sword and grabs Smurfstorm by the waist with only a single hand, and throws her hard into the forest floor. As Smurfstorm lands Hefty draws his sword again and pursues her as he soars down from the air with to perform a vertical slash towards her back. Smurfstorm jumps to her feet and fires an arrow which grazes Hefty's shoulder causing an abrasion before rolling out of range of Hefty's attack.
"Leafblade shot!" Smurfstorm shouts as her Smurf Essence envelops her hands.
The tip of her arrow takes the shape of a leaf before she fires the shot using her Smurf Essence to enhance the attack. The arrow soars through the air and Hefty lifts his shield to absorb the attack. The tip of the arrow fully penetrates the shield and strikes Hefty in the bicep. Hefty winces and pulls the arrow out of his bicep before throwing it to the forest floor.
"Leaf Storm!" Smurfstorm shouts as her aura flares.
Once again the razor sharp leaves materialized and began to soar towards Hefty. Hefty rolls out of the way of the attack and the leaves fly passed him, but then something unexpected happens. The leaves circle around in the air and pursue Hefty from behind cutting into his back. As Hefty flinched Smurfstorm fires three more arrows which Hefty barely avoided by raising his shield. Hefty strikes the earth with his sword and a gust of wind soars towards Smurfstorm sending her into the air again. The wind surrounded smurfstorm and held her in place as the wind formed a small tornado.
"This is my Tornado Prison!" Hefty shouts.
Smurfstorm winces as she struggled to even breathe let alone move inside Hefty's Tornado Prison. Her aura flares and leaves from the surrounding trees join the tornado. Hefty leaps into the air and swings his sword towards Smurfstorm's chest, but Smurfstorm had found a way to counter and escape Hefty's Tornado Prison and sent the entire tornado now merged with the leaves from the trees straight for Hefty while he was in the air. Hefty gets hit by the Leaf Tornado and get carried through the air as Smurfstorm fires a volley of arrows at him. Hefty gets caught in his own attack and the razor sharp leaves leave multiple cuts all over his body as he gets sliced up by the tornado. Hefty's shield was not efficient enough to absorb all the blows as he was being attacked at every angle while suspended in the air. Smurfstorm's arrows pierced his chest and stomach as she continued to shoot at him. The tornado subsided and Hefty lands on his feet just in front of Smurfstorm. Then he grapples her and performs Titan's belly to belly suplex smashing his belly against the much smaller Smurfette and knocking the wind right out of her as she gasped for air. He then drew his sword and slashed Smurfstorm across the chest causing a bloody wound which began to soak her yellow dress a crimson red. Smurfstorm cries out in pain and grits her teeth.
"Had enough?" Hefty asked standing up.
"I… Can't believe this!" Smurfstorm said shakily standing.
"I hit him with everything I've got and yet he seems unaffected." Smurfstorm thought clutching her wound.
"I… I" Smurfstorm said falling to her knees.
Hefty sheaths his sword and effortlessly picks her up standing her on her feet.
"Your good, but you have much to learn." Hefty said.
Smurfstorm is out of breath and struggling to breathe as she clutches her bleeding wound. She looks to her blood soaked hand and grunts in frustration. What was she going to do? She couldn't be seen like this! Finally her wounds were too much to handle and she collapsed.
"Poor thing… I might have overdone it a little…" Hefty said.
"But she sure is beautiful, and her skills in battle are admirable. It's no wonder she's made it this far. I've never dreamed there would be a Smurfette quite like her in this world." Hefty thought lifting Smurfstorm.
Hefty's body reverts to normal and he carries Smurfstorm back to the port where Alchemist used the last Potion of Addicting Health to restore Smurfstorm's wounds.
"You're a powerful fighter. I must say I am impressed." Hefty said.
Smurfstorm smiled.
"And your skills match your reputation, but I can't help but feel like you went easy on me." Smurfstorm said.
Hefty grins.
"Yes, well now we must go to the clinic. You need your mandatory checkup, and I need Doctor to tend to these arrow wounds." Hefty said.
"What an amazing Smurf." Smurfstorm thought.
"Next time we fight let's give it our all." Smurfstorm said.
"You got it! I'll train you up and you'll get much stronger, then we'll have a rematch where we'll fight with everything we've got." Hefty said.
