The Smurfocalypse Chapter 101: The Search for the savant Cure Part 5: Stego Smurf and the Accursed Sunlight Yellow Beam!
Amidst the battlefield Hefty led Smurfstorm and Smurfblossom deeper into the forest looking for another raptor to eradicate. Smurfstorm loyally followed Hefty just as she claimed she'd always do. Smurfblossom followed behind them.
"Hefty you should let me take a look at you." Smurfblossom said.
"She's right Hefty. Smurfblossom is gifted in first aid. At least let her stop the bleeding." Smurfstorm said.
"There is no time. The longer we wait around the further away they get." Hefty said.
"But Hefty!" Smurfblossom shouts.
"Don't worry about me. I'll be just fine." Hefty said with confidence.
Although it is true that Hefty was an incredibly powerful individual, Smurfstorm couldn't help but worry about his chest wounds. They were deep wounds and they were bleeding profusely. As they walked Hefty was leaving a blood trail behind him. She couldn't bear to see the Smurf she loved in so much pain, but Hefty had his pride and the raptors had dared to defy him by cutting down one of his dear friends. She could understand his pain as she had lost one of her best friends Smurflily in a similar conflict just a few months ago. The apocalypse and the blackhearted had turned the Smurf world upside down and Smurflily was betrayed and killed by a group of Smurfs the Smurfettes from Smurfy Grove were trying to help. That conflict resulted in an all out slaughter of that group that still left a bad taste in Smurfstorm's mouth. The world was truly a rotten place, but in her eyes Hefty was a glimmer of hope that carried the dreams of his fellow Smurf on his broad shoulders and protected the innocent with his very life. He was everything to her. Smurfstorm truly loved Hefty with all her heart. She was sure that one day Hefty would forge a new world under the stars and return peace to smurfkind, and she would stand by his side for the rest of her life to help him accomplish this. Raptor Smurf has to die for what he has done to her love and for what he had likely done to countless other Smurfs in the past that just wanted bloodstones, but even if they found Raptor Smurf would Hefty be in the right condition to carry out the job?
They make their way through the forest only to find another raptor standing in their way in the middle of the Smurf made trail. He had a flail in his right hand and was skillfully swinging it as though he was expecting to find Hefty here on the path.
"You will go no further Hefty Smurf." The Smurf said as he spins his flail.
This Smurf was clad in bone armor which resembled the extinct Stegosaurus including a spiked tail and the large bone plates which aligned the creature's spine. Hefty scowled as this Smurf dared to stand in his way.
"If you don't get the hell out of my face I will crush you into tiny little pieces…" Hefty said drawing his sword.
"It is as I've already said, you will go no further. For I Stego Smurf, warrior of the raptors of Blood Mountain will cut you down. I'm afraid your journey ends right here and now." Stego said.
"We'll see about that one." Hefty said.
The battle begins and they run at each other. Stego is still swinging flail as he charges Hefty. Hefty raises his sword and as Stego approaches him he readies for the parry, but Stego wastes no time generating his Smurf Essence into his flail causing it to be bathed in an almost blinding light as he swung the weapon towards Hefty's chest. Alarmed by the light, Hefty's response was to leap backward to avoid the attack of the imbued weapon.
"Revealing your Smurf Essence so soon?" Hefty asked.
"Neither of us appreciate dirty fighting tactics so I chose to be direct. You have a strength type Smurf essence which earns you the reputation across the land as being a 'true' supersmurf, but I have a sunlight type Smurf essence." Stego said.
"A sunlight Smurf essence?" Smurfblossom asked.
"According to Pluto this would fit the category of an Outer Smurf based Smurf essence… A rarity in this world especially amongst Smurfs born on Earth." Smurfstorm said.
"It is as your friend said Hefty Smurf. I indeed have been blessed with a rare Smurf essence. A Smurf essence that I will use to destroy you." Stego said.
"You speak as though your rare Smurf essence intimidates me in the slightest. In reality I have squashed spiders tougher than you." Hefty said.
Stego grins and chuckles.
"Your underestimation of my capabilities will be your downfall." Stego said.
Hefty grasps his sword and readies his stance. Stego outstretches his free hand and immediately his hand becomes engulfed in a blinding light.
"Behold the Accursed Sunlight Yellow Beam!" Stego said.
A visible orb of bright sunlight forms in Stego's palm the light of which lit up their surroundings. Then he releases a deadly beam of Smurf essence generated sunlight which traveled at great speed through the air towards Hefty. Before Hefty could prepare he was engulfed in this powerful light which began to burn his skin. Hefty screamed out in pain within the beam of sunlight.
"Hefty!" Smurfblossom yelled.
The light dispersed and Hefty fell to one knee. He was covered in wounds caused from Triceratops and Stego alike.
"Now do you see Hefty Smurf?" Stego asked.
"All I see is a cheap trick." Hefty said shakily standing up.
"It appears you are a bit sunburned there Hefty. Care to surrender? I promise to end your life painlessly." Stego said.
"You're hilarious!" Hefty said.
Hefty disappears in a blur as he quickly dashes towards Stego. Before Stego could react Hefty had reappeared and slashed the Smurf across the chest. The Smurf's enchanted armor absorbed most of the attack, but Stego was sent flying backward from the sheer force of the attack. Hefty follows up with a wind cutter by slamming his sword into the ground and releasing a gust of wind which carried Stego into the air. Hefty pursues his opponent in the air presuming him defenseless, but once Hefty was close enough Stego swings the spiked tail of his armor towards Hefty. The spikes pierce Hefty's stomach and with a swing of his tail Stego sends Hefty downward towards the forest floor. Hefty easily lands on his feet followed by Stego.
"My armor is an extension of my body. I have full mobility of all the parts as though I were born with them." Stego said.
"That's wild! Stego put an end to Hefty's combo with a swing of his tail!" Smurfblossom said.
"Your accumulated wounds from your conquest of blood seem to have weakened you to quite the extent." Stego said.
"Regardless I will not back down! A good friend of mine was killed because of you Smurfs. For Smurf's sake we used to play Smurf ball together! How can you defend a Smurf as heartless as Raptor?" Hefty said.
"Raptor is my master… He raised me since I was a defenseless baby. You've pushed us all into this situation Hefty Smurf. Obviously I don't want to kill you, but you have left me with no choice. Please understand I personally bear no grudge." Stego said.
"So he chooses to blindly defend Raptor even after all he's done to just us alone." Smurfstorm said.
"Then the time to talk is over. It's time I start getting serious." Hefty said.
Stego nods before raising his free hand once again generating a large amount of his sunlight Smurf essence into the palm of his hand.
"Accursed Sunlight Yellow Beam!" Stego shouts as he releases the power generated into his palm.
Once again the dark forest lit up as a large amount of solar power soars through the air towards Hefty. Hefty had already seen and suffered from this attack before so this time he was ready. Hefty leaps into the air over the attack with his sword extended towards Stego, but it seemed this was the reaction Stego had wanted as he takes a step back and swings his spiked tail into Hefty's stomach again. The spikes pierce Hefty's flesh again and in a quick motion Stego swings his tail sending Hefty into the air before jumping upward and piercing Hefty's back with the bone plates that aligned his back. Hefty who was now completely stuck to Stego's back screams in pain as bone pierces his flesh. Then Stego's aura flares as he once again generates his Smurf essence. He then does a flip in the air and positions his body so that his back is facing the earth.
"Sunburn Driver!" Stego shouts.
The plates along Stego's back glow brightly as his Smurf essence generates more harsh sunlight which caused burns to accumulate along Hefty's back. Both fighters then fall towards the ground and the result is Hefty landing on his stomach with Stego on top of him with the plates of his armor still piercing Hefty's flesh causing them to considerably deepen the wounds and provide a burning sensation equivalent to severe sunburn. Hefty screams out as he hits the ground. Stego then dislodges himself from Hefty and rolls away from him landing on his feet Hefty did not move, just laid there face down in the dirt.
"Hefty!" Smurfstorm shouts.
"And now as promised I will painlessly finish you." Stego said raising his palm.
"I'm not down just yet." Hefty said as he rises to his feet shakily.
"How can you hope to win in your condition?" Stego asked.
"Hefty will find a way. I believe in you Hefty…" Smurfstorm said.
Hefty lifts his right leg and stomps his foot into the ground causing a tornado of wind which soared towards Stego violently tearing the foliage surrounding them to shreds as it ripped through the air. Stego was hit by this attack and the tornado sent him airborne and trapped him within it.
"That's the Tornado Prison!" Smurfstorm said.
Stego was engulfed in one of Hefty's latest techniques. The Smurf could scarce breathe let alone think of a counter strategy. As the wind wisped around him at incredible speeds Stego lost complete control, dropping his flail which entered the torrent of wind and was thrown violently into the darkness of the forest. Hefty wasted no time leaping upward after sheathing his sword towards Stego. Hefty grapples the suspended Smurf wrapping one arm around his neck and the other around his waist. Hefty then lifts Stego above his head as the tornado disperses and the two fighters land on the ground. Hefty had Stego in a deadly submissive hold from which there was no escape. Stego attempted to generate his Smurf essence to free himself causing burns to form on Hefty's neck and upper back.
"Try as you might there is no escape for you." Hefty said.
Hefty then began to pull on Stego's body with all his might as he held him in this submission. Stego squirmed and screamed in protest as Hefty was quite literally in the process of ripping his body in two. There was simply no escape for Stego Smurf. Hefty pulled on his body until he cracked in half like an egg showering Hefty with blood. Only then did Hefty let go, once the screaming had stopped and once he was holding a section of Stego's body in either hand.
"He literally ripped Stego Smurf in half!" Smurfblossom shouts.
Smurfstorm just raised her eyebrows and stared at the scene. That could have easily been her fate that day in the forest when they had their spare. Hefty's feats of strength never failed to impress her. However Hefty was grievously injured at this point after fighting two strong opponents back to back. Hefty fell to his hands and knees and began to heavily pant as his accumulated injuries were causing him serious pain.
"Hefty…" Smurfstorm said.
"Hefty you need to stop this! Before you're killed!" Smurfblossom said.
Hefty just looked back at Smurfblossom as though she had greatly insulted him. Once he caught his breath his finally spoke.
"Nonsense… The likes of these Smurfs will never be my downfall." Hefty said.
"Hefty please listen to reason. You can't defeat all of them alone!" Smurfstorm said.
Hefty slowly rises to his feet. He was covered in burns, bruises, and blood from that was both his own and his opponent's.
"I will avenge Timber Smurf at all costs." Hefty said.
