Hopping on Very High Ground
"Alright everyone, we have survive the second day of the Grand Magic Games and getting one step closer to becoming Number 1 in Fiore again!" Macao announced highly while raising a cup of beer.
"Yeah, big cheers for breaking our last place record!" Max cheered and everyone shouts in joy.
"We should also thanks our friends from Lamia Scale for celebrating with us for giving the fight their all!" Squirrel Girl gestured to team Lamia Scale as they have join the party.
"We are honor to be here, thank you for inviting us." Jura smiled.
"Is it really alright to come here, we are still enemies in the Games." Sherria asked.
"Don't worry, Sherria, during the day we can go at each other, but at night like this we'll always be friends with the power of love!" Sherry pointed out as she makes a heart shape finger pose.
"Yeah, you're right, love will conquer all!" Sherria smiled, doing the same finger pose.
"Are they always like this?" Wolverine asked Jura.
"Yes, they speak highly of love even before they join the guild." Jura nodded.
"I must say, it really feels good that our guild is continuing on the Games after the past games we kept getting in last place. I'm glad things are different now." Kianna impressed her joy.
"Yeah, because we helped lift your spirits back up and remind you all what it means to be alive!" She-Hulk smirked before drinking her beer.
"She has a point there. We almost lost hope that Fairy Tail would last any longer, but since Wolverine came along we've been feeling more like before and probably better too." Warden remembered how sad and shock everyone was when they heard the news about some of their strongest members disappearing along with the island.
"I just hope Natsu and the others are doing okay, wherever they are." Romeo looked out the window staring at the night sky. Then felt a hand on his shoulder, turn around to see Wolverine.
"No worries, kid. If they are strong as you all said they are then I have no doubt they will come back to us or we'll drag them back ourselves." Wolverine said confident.
"He's right, we can't give up hope. We have to be sure to welcome everyone back with open arms and throw the biggest party we have ever done!" Macao believed that day will come.
This made Romeo happy from both Wolverine and his dad that they haven't given up on Natsu and the others, he also got a lot of stories to tell Natsu about his adventures and how strong he has gotten with his magic, and he can also imagine Natsu wanting to challenge Wolverine to a fight once the two meets.
"The first two days of the Grand Magic Games were good and close for some, but now we'll be in the third day as in halfway through the games which means thing may get difficult from here." Laki pointed out.
"Yeah, and next time we face one of you Fairy Tail guys, we'll going to give this our all and show you just how strong Lamia Scale really is!" Toby proclaimed standing on top of a table.
"Toby, behave yourself." Yuka scolded the dog-face man.
"But he does make a good point. We're going to settle things during the Grand Magic Games rather it be one of the random game sections or in battle, Lamia Scale will be the one to make to the top!" Lyon declared strongly.
"Talk big all you want, pretty boy, you'll be needing your ice on you eye when I'm through with you." Wolverine smirked.
"Perhaps not with me, but if you go up against Jura then you'll find out why he is the pride of Lamia Scale." Lyon bragged.
"Now I really want to fight you." She-Hulk excited.
"That all depends on the matches they'll set up for tomorrow, but if we do fight each other then I look forward to seeing the strength of Hulk's cousin." Jura chuckled.
"You know Bruce?" She-Hulk asked.
"I met him a few years ago, he was on the same quest as I was, and we ended up teaming up together though he was hard to get along as he just wanted to do things by himself." Jura remembered that time.
"Same old cous, he has trouble trusting people he hasn't met yet until you start earning that trust and if you do anything to upset the guy than you're a dead man." She-Hulk explained.
"I got that expression from him quite a lot, but in the end, we were able to come on good terms with each other after the quest." Jura said before drinking his cup.
The little party between the two guilds lasted for a while as everyone is having fun together, laughing and sharing some good moments too like stories to tell each other as most of them have gotten drunk from the beers they have been drinking with some weird faces. Wolverine is fine because apparently his healing factor also prevent him from being drunk and having a headache but seeing everyone together having fun together makes him smile that he is glad to be part of a guild.
"Well then, I believe it's time for us to be on our way." Jura said as he carries the drunken Toby on his shoulder.
"Thank for the party, it was a blast!" Sherria thanked looking fine because she didn't drink the beers because she is underage.
"You're welcome, see you guys tomorrow for the Magic Games." Squirrel Girl waved goodbye to team Lamia Scale as they leave for their hotel.
"Those guys sure were fun." Wolverine commented.
"You got that right, Fariy Tail have tons of friends from other guilds we can always count on." Wakaba said giggling with a hiccup.
"But that doesn't mean we'll show them mercy, we're in this to win!" Macao said before he hiccups.
"Come on, dad, let get you back to our room before you drink too much." Romeo helped his dad walk.
"Time for us to sleep too, team." Wolverine ordered his Fairy Tail team.
Soon, everyone made their way to the hotels they're staying at and sleep for the night.
(Morning, Arena)
"Good morning, everyone! And welcome to the third day of the Grand Magic Games!" Chapati announced and the audience cheers of excitement.
"We have reach the halfway point and things are already getting extreme this year with the Guilds getting serious to see who will come out on top." Chapati said.
"Everyone always believe that Sabretooth would claim another win like all the other years, but I think things may change a little with Fairy Tail catching up to them." Yajima mentioned, proud of his old guild.
"Oh yeah, things are really getting extreme here!" A white-haired man shouted.
"And that folks, is from our today's special guest, Jack Frost!" Chapati introduced.
"What's up everyone, hope things have been "cool" like in the north." Jack greeted.
"Okay you two, what kind of game will our contestant wizards be facing today?" Jack asked curiously.
"Hold your horses, frosty, it'll be reveal soon after the eight teams pick out their representative." Yajima said.
"Oh, I just can't bear the wait. I might crack right now!" Jack excited making an ice tablet and breaks it in half.
"We can see you're point, and I believe it won't be long now." Chapati looked down seeing eight wizards walking into the arena.
"Here we have the representatives from each guild: Yukino from Sabretooth, Toby from Lamia Scale, Eve of Blue Pegasus, Risley from Mermaid Heel, Nobarly Quatro Cerberus, Bisca from Fairy Tail, Toad from the Brotherhood Guild, and Vick from Twilight Ogre." Chapati announced the contestants.
"Yeah, show them how you rock, Yukino!" Sting cheered.
"He seems to be awfully cheerful today." Rufus noticed the mood in Sting today.
"That's because he's girlfriend is performing for Sabretooth's honor of being number one." Lector chuckled.
"HEY! She is NOT my girlfriend; I just respect her as a strong woman within our guild!" Sting snapped with his cheeks turning a little red, this didn't' stop Lector and Rufus looking at him with teasing smirks.
"So, are Sting and Yukino together or not?" Frosh confused, asking Rogue.
"I seriously don't care; we have a game to focus on winning if we want to keep the title of Number 1 with us." Rogue looked down at the arena.
"And that is going to keep happening this year as well." A woman believed walking up to them.
"Hey Minerva, looking forward to today?" Sting asked with his cocky grin.
Minerva is a slim young woman of average height distinguished by her Eastern look: her long, straight and glossy black hair reaching down to her lower back, while mostly left loose, being parted in the middle of her forehead and sporting two bangs framing her face and going down below her shoulders, her hair is also tied into a pair of bun shaped Dango loops at both sides of her head, and a braid is present some inches below each of such loops. She has glossy dark lipstick, and her slanted dark eyes, possessing long eyelashes, being topped by a pair of elongated, diagonal dark spots, seemingly acting as or covering her eyebrows. Her pale figure is considerably curvaceous. Her clothing appears to be Eastern looking, with the woman wearing a strapless dress with a large slit in correspondence to Minerva's left leg, exposing her thigh, and comes secured to her body by a number of dark laces on the back and to her right side, exposing a part of her right breast's back side, and by a line of metal fasteners taking the shape of two horizontally placed triangles with their bases linked together on her front left side. Such garment is dark in its back part where the laces are, and light-colored on the front, where a large decorative motif representing a "Saber-toothed cat" menacingly lurking in the grass is present, in reference to Minerva's guild. Her outfit is completed by a pair of shoulder-length ornamental gloves again bearing dual colors, dark on the arm and hand's lower part and light on the upper one, and dark boots reaching up to her middle calves. Breasts sizes: H-cup.
"I thought I could come see the game in a better view from here than with the others." Minerva claimed.
"I also wanted to see Fairy Tail's strength with my own eyes." Minerva smirked.
"Okay everyone now it's time to reveal today's game… High Hop!" Yajima announced.
"High Hop? I don't get it?" Nobarly puzzled.
Dozens of gold poles raise up from the ground tall about fifty feel high as the chosen contestants are surprise of seeing this and Chapati chuckled.
"Did that surprise you? The purpose of this contest is all about balance, each of you must stand at the top on one gold bar with only one foot and be careful because when the gold bar you are standing on blinks red that means it will disappear you will have to hop onto the next one. You are allow jump to another pole freely and use magic to attack each other, but only at your opponents' foot to throw them off balance and attacking them in other parts will mean a time-out for one minute." Chapati explained the rules of the contest.
"Time-out? Do we look like kindergarteners to you?" Toad asked angry.
"Hmm, this can also be tricky that we would have to move around a little to use our magic." Eve pointed out.
"You would all have to be careful not to fall off and touch the ground otherwise you will be out, the time limit is thirty minutes and the last one standing is the winner." Chapati finished the explanation to the contest.
"Okay, this just got more than I thought, but it's also exciting at the same time." Bisca turned around seeing her husband and daughter cheering for her.
"Oh wow, be careful not to get cold in the high view!" Jack joked.
"I think they'll need something soft to cushion their fall." Yajima joked as well.
"And now, the game shall begin… now!" Chapati shouted.
All eight contestants are teleported on top of one pole for each of them as they got surprise but some of the manages to land on one foot, others were struggling as they held onto the pole and try to stand on them.
"Okay, this is harder than it looks." Bisca admitted as she almost tilts her body around.
"Piece of cake." Toad smirked.
Toad saw something coming at him and jump over a small snow wind attack that was unleash by Eve.
"Hey man, trying to give me cold feet?" Toad angered.
"I thought I could knock you out, but it looks like I underestimated you." Eve said.
"(I have to be careful not to mess this up for Sabretooth.)" Yukino thought determined to win this game.
"Let's hope you guys know how to dance!" Bisca summoned her tommy gun firing some magic bullets at some of her competitors.
"Hey, hey, hey watch it! You could poke someone eyes out like that!" Toby complained while switching between his right and left foot fast to avoid the bullets.
"How would that happen if she is just aiming our feet?" Nobarly asked.
"Damn it, I will not lose to a little fairy bitch!" Vick fired a small magic ball blast at Bisca though she counters it with a magic bullet that made him struggle with his balance.
The pole he is standing on blinks red a few times before it disappeared right under his foot and Vick fell while screaming like a little girl, then he is teleported to the ground outside of the gold poles.
"And the first one to be taken out is Vick from Twilight Ogre." Chapati announced.
"Oh, bet he'll be eating a cold dish of defeat." Jack commented.
"FUCK! This can't be!" Thibault screamed.
"This is why I told you I should have been the one to go." Ginger pointed out.
"Oh, this just got a lot my exciting!" Risley smiled and saw her pole is blinking red and quickly hop to another one.
Risley saw Norbarly struggling to keep himself straight on one foot and took this opportunity to strike at him from the foot, using her Gravity Change magic to make Nobarly trip and fall leading him out of the competition.
"Sorry, got to win this, you know!" Risley called out.
"Ha, you're wide open!" Toby shouted as he is about to strike his green jelly claws at Risley's leg, but the round woman easily jumps over Toby landing on another pole.
"Huh?!" Toby gasped.
"You'll have to be quickly than that." Risley advised.
Bisca continue firing her bullets and on some other poles to keep moving around though struggle a little upon landing using only one foot each, Eve use his Snow magic to make one pole slippery as Toby stepped on that pole and did a full spilt screaming in pain.
"Look at that, I'm a cheerleader." Toby winced before falling and teleport out of the contest.
"Ouch, guess he wasn't flexible." Eve said, feeling pity for the guy.
"Take this!" Toad fired his long frog tongue at Risley as she jumps over it and over to the next pole to dodge another tongue strike.
"Didn't your mother tell you not to stick your tongue out at people?" Risley asked.
"I got this trait from my mom, so I'm sure she would be damn proud in a competition like this." Toad bragged.
"I believe it's time to end this." Yukino jumped to another pole and took out a golden key.
"Open, Gate of the Heavenly Scales: Libra!" Yukino summoned one of her strongest Celestial Spirits.
"I am here." Libra said.
Libra is a curvaceous woman with dark hair tied in an ox horn style. Her attire resembles a belly dancer, consisting of a frilled and striped bikini top along with a patterned loincloth sporting pom-pom at the waist. She wears numerous bangles on her arms and legs, and her neck is also concealed by a thick necklace. On her feet are a simple pair of sandals, and her head is dressed in a zigzagged headband. Concealing Libra's lower face is another cloth that bears her sign, tied around her head. Dangling from her hands, Libra carries a pair of scales, with thin cords running from her fingertips to the sides of the scales, so that she holds them in an almost puppeteer-like fashion. Breasts sizes: E-cup.
"Libra, change everyone's gravity and make them fall!" Yukino ordered.
Libra nods swinging her hands and scales down then before everyone knew it, they all felt a strong pressure on their bodies as they are being pulled down making them drop of the poles they were standing on and fall fast. They are soon teleported to the safety leaving Yukino the only one left on the high poles.
"Unbelievable! Yukino have managed to pull down the competition and win the whole thing with plenty of time to spare!" Chapati surprised.
"That girl certainly knows which tool to use in a situation like this." Yajima commented.
"Wow, literally scaling things to her favor! Who would have thought?" Jack surprised smiling.
"Awesome, great win!" Sting impressed.
"Excellent work, Yukino. Now let see you will bounce back from this, Fairy Tail." Minerva glanced at the Fairy Tail booth, directly at Wolverine.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Things were looking high for everyone in this contest until Yukino brought them all down with her Celestia Spirit which gives her the advantage in balance, and it looks like Minerva has her sight on Wolverine probably thinking of something that could be to her liking.
