(AN: Man, I posted the story, and within five minutes, I got my first viewer, follow, favorite and reviewer, lol. All the same guy, so here's to him, shuwhsyhah! Also shout out to beenjammin for pointing out that I forgot to put Naruto's Age. He is currently 10 and only began the current Academy year a couple months ago. So he's got a little less than two years to get everything going! I went back and added that in. Anyway, here's to the story!)

[Rewards Claimed EXP 155! 1 E Skill Scroll!]

[Tutorial continuing…]

[Equipment tutorial beginning]

[The Player's equipment is his best friend. From the clothes he wears to the weapons he wields, each and every piece has some form of stats that can flip a battlefield to the Player's favor. Throwing items could have an increase in Accuracy and Ranged Damage. Meanwhile, close ranged items can offer bonuses to Physical Damage and an increased Critical Hit Chance. These are merely examples, as with the dozens of different weapon types out there, including the different ranks and grades, there are an infinite amount of weapons to obtain with varying skills and stats added.]

[Armor, on the other hand, generally offers much needed protection, as well as the ability to supplement the Player's skills with added seals for a variety of effects. From a spiraling wind armor that deflects attacks to giving bonuses to stats.]

[Both Armor and Weapons can be combined as Sets. Sets grant bonuses that can give buffs or debuffs. For example, the Player's current Jacket and Pants grant a set bonus. Other sets can be anywhere from two to over ten pieces required. Some merely need only a couple pieces out of a set, while some need every item. (Note: Some sets continue to give bonuses as you add more to them. Some Sets can also be mixed and matched) To view your equipment, please say, View Equipment in the Status Screen.]

Following the instructions, Naruto eagerly awaited his amazing set bonus, but as the information loaded, he couldn't help but cry.

The Orange Monstrosity (2/2): This set bonus gives a negative to all stealth actions as it practically screams, "He's over here!"

-40% to Stealth.

-40% to all relationship gains outside of missions.

100% EXP Gain to stealth when worn.

"Why's it give me more EXP if I lose Stealth while wearing it?" Maybe it gave the bonus to counter the negatives? Or because he was working twice as hard—what was his stealth like? He never was able to finish his skills list. Once he finished the tutorial, he needed to check that out. Briefly, he remembered the so-called premium gift after completing the tutorial. "Alright, I'll check it all out later. Let's continue."

[Relationships: Friend or foe? Enemies or lovers, how can you tell? Well, by checking your relationships! While in the Status Screen, simply call for the Relationships menu. You can also see someone's relationship by observing them after the skill gets to Lvl 5. Relationships play a key role in the world. It's how you know who wants to stab you in the back or give you the gift of friendship.]

[Titles, Jobs, Perks, and Flaws: Titles are gained by completing Quests, Achievements, or by fulfilling certain conditions. Titles give bonuses ranging from faster learning speed for Water Jutsu to gaining extra relationship points with someone for wearing their favorite colors. Jobs are your current occupation, from Academy Student to Ramen Chef. Each one gives specific bonuses for the job at hand. As an Academy Student, you gain bonuses for things within your Academy life. Perks: Perks can be bought with special points called Perk Points. These points are gained every five Levels, 1 at a time. Achievements can also grant Perk Points. An example of a Perk would be the Professor Perk. By Spending 2 perk points while having a Mastery over one element, journeyman status in two others, and know the first stage of nature transformation of the final two, the Player can gain a 75% learning speed in all elemental jutsu with a 35% effectiveness. Finally, Flaws. Flaws can be debilitating to the Gamer. The Player currently has one Flaw titled Malnourished. This Flaw gives a -50% to all physical capabilities, including learning new skills or leveling them up. Flaws exist in many different ways. Curses, physical handicaps, and even mental disabilities can manifest a Flaw. Flaws can be removed by seeing a professional or healing with time.]

Naruto cursed at that and immediately opened his Flaws menu and grimaced at the list that popped up.

Malnourished: A diet of instant ramen and restaurant quality ramen? What else did you expect? Can be removed by proper dieting and taking vitamin supplements.

-50% to all physical capabilities

-50% to Learning any new physical skills

-50% to Leveling all physical skills

Proper dieting? How long would that take?

[Sub Mission Unlocked!]

[Get fit or get ripped (In Half)!]

[Quest Description: Who needs Ramen, anyway? Eat at least two healthy meals a day for Three Months.]

[Quest Failure Will result in Malnourished becoming a permanent status. You'll be short for the rest of your life and will possibly be ripped apart by your enemies! (Note: Do not Fail this or else)]

[Rewards: 300 EXP, Removal of the Malnourished Flaw, ?, ?]

"What!?" This was outrageous. Who could give up ramen! It was the food of the Gods… but that description was also interesting… why did it say at least two? And what about the supplement, why bring those up? What was it the tutorial had said about reading the descriptions carefully?

[Ding! Congratulations! Due to your deductions, you have discovered a hidden quest!]

[WIS has Increased]

[Due to Gamer's Mind Skill being active, you have forfeited progress in one Achievement and the completion of one Achievement.]

Naruto's mouth fell open as he cursed the power. Immediately he opened the Skills menu and found the offender. Physically, he moved his hand, hovering over the toggle, briefly wondering if his finger would even work on it.

If he removed the skill, he could always put it back on later, and if he remembered correctly, he could upgrade the skill somehow to remove certain restrictions, though it would cost skill points… he'd fiddle with it later, if he was missing out on rewards, no matter how small. He toggled the skill off and instantly something felt different. He was… his thoughts seemed more scattered, and he had a harder time remembering certain information. Naruto knew he couldn't wait. He focused on the one he wanted and said, "Skills."

Gamer's Mind (Lvl MAX)

He ignored the words of the description, and let his eyes find the new line at the end.

Edit

He chose the option.

[Skill Editing unlocked!]

[The Player can upgrade or downgrade certain skills in this section using Skill Points. By using a rare item, these Skill Points can be redistributed.]

[Would you like to edit Gamer's Mind?]

(Yes/No)

Accepting the line, a new menu opened up.

Gamer's Mind (Lvl MAX) (Inactive)

Genjutsu Immunity (Inactive): Grants immunity to B Rank Genjutsu and weaker.

Structured Thoughts (Inactive): Organizes the Player's thoughts of the Game, allowing him to recall quest information and Game data on the fly.

Sheet Skills (Inactive): Allows the user to recall any skill information, letting the Player change tactics on the fly.

Sound Mind (Inactive): Ignore Killer Intent and Bloodlust if the origin is within twenty levels

Impenetrable Mind (Inactive): To keep safe the Gamer's Identity, this skill blocks out all intrusions, including the Yamanaka's Mind Walk skill.

[Two Skill Points are needed to toggle certain abilities of the Gamer's Mind Skill.]

Two points? He only had two… He quickly toggled the entire skill on, and back out, thinking quickly, he muttered, "Purchase Skills?" Sure enough, a long, long list opened before him.

[Purchasing Skills Tutorial Unlocked!]

[When gaining a new skill, jutsu scroll, or book, the Player is able to study and train with that skill until they familiarize themselves with the basics, and properly learn the technique, allowing them to be used at any time with the Gamer System. Or, the user may spend skill points to instantly learn a skill, getting it to Lvl 2 immediately as well. For example, when obtaining a book on a Kenjutsu—the art of Swordsmanship—Style, the Player can either study the book and learn the skill, or immediately receive the ability using Skill Points. (Note: This does not allow the immediate evolution of an upgrade skill. Master a Beginner's Taijutsu Style will evolve into the Intermediate Style, should conditions be met, without the need for Skill Points.) To Purchase a Skill, or Jutsu, simply open the menu to make a purchase. In the Menu you can sort by Physical, Range, Elemental, Mental, Bukijutsu, and more! Feel free to browse at your leisure.]

There were a few skills highlighted that Naruto could actually access, but the vast majority of them were grayed out. Like this Hiraishin Jutsu… that sounded so stupid, but also a little familiar. He had a Flying Knee he could unlock, High Knee, Uppercut, and he could even take a High Jump skill. But while the descriptions were interesting, he knew with a few hours of training, he'd easily knock those out of the part. With determination he opened the Gamer's Mind edit page once more, and sunk his only two skill points into deactivating Structured Thoughts. Honestly, if he could get his INT and WIS up, he wouldn't need the skill. But on the off chance he did, he could always re-activate it whenever he needed.

[Completing Skill Editing and Skill Purchasing Tutorials…]

[Skipping Skill Points Tutorials…

[Perk Tutorial Beginning]

[Please say, Perk List, from the Status Screen.]

Following the commands, a list popped up. This time, instead of a mix of white and gray choices, the unlockable Perks were on top, while the grayed out ones were separated into another section below.

[In the Perk List, the Player can unlock a multitude of life-changing perks with a variety of advantages and negatives intertwined. You have 1 Perk Point currently at Lvl 5! You may use or save this point for later. Please choose or ignore the (Three) provided.]

Naruto licked his lips in anticipation. Life changing sounded totally awesome. This was just like following a skill tree in his favorite game! Though these didn't look too good…

Master of a Thousand Faces: With your skills using the Sexy Jutsu coupled with your near mastery of the Henge, you can purchase this Perk!

50% to Stealth when disguised using a Henge like skill.

50% Durability of any chakra based disguise

-50% Chance of being spotted when using a Henge based disguise.

Sure, Naruto liked his Sexy Jutsu, but he could already beat the Old Man with it. Why would he need to get a better version?

Infinity and Beyond: Due to ERROR you have ERROR Chakra. By tapping into this Perk, you can spam Jutsu to your heart's content.

-50% cost to Jutsu when tapping into ERROR.

75% Chakra Control needed when tapping into ERROR for any skill.

Now that almost seemed too good? Who needed Chakra Control anyway? But that ERROR was definitely scarring him off.

King of the Pranksters: You have cemented your throne as the greatest prankster to ever exist, even beating out Iruka Umino, Hashirama Senju, and Kushina Uzumaki! All must bow before your might!

25% Stealth when setting Traps.

20% Efficiency when setting Traps.

20% Efficiency when crafting Traps.

-33% Trap Visibility.

-25% Relationship with all targets of your pranks.

-10% Relationship with everyone when playing a large scale prank. Even if it does not directly affect them.

Naruto almost instantly chose the third one just from that, but still held himself back it was soooo worth it. He didn't really understand what the efficiency for crafting meant, but for setting? He was sure it meant he'd have to spend less time on it. And the Stealth too? He could probably hide from Iruka almost every time at that amount! But did he really want to sour his relationships?

"Relationships Tutorial?" He questioned out loud, and with a soft ding, a new window popped up. He'd choose a Perk when he was sure of it. No matter how tantalizing it was currently.

[Tutorial Loading…]

[Relationships Menu Tutorial!]

[In this Menu you can see all of your relationships, from a single person to a whole Village! Here are some highlights!]

Naruto sputtered as the overwhelming amount of negativity practically slapped him in the face. There were barely any positive ratings. Even among his classmates, only one stood out.

Hinata Hyuga: Well Liked (87/250)

He wondered about that for a moment; it had to be a bug. He barely every said anything to the girl each week, and she always passed out in fear of him or ran away. Ignoring the line, he turned back to the list.

Iruka Umino: Ally (10/100)

Right, he got those extra points for completing those missions.

Hiruzen Sarutobi: Honored Friend (Maxed)

Why was that name so familiar? He wished these had pictures next to them. He decided to check out the locations next.

Hat-Chan's Boutigque: Menace (2/100)

"Ha!" Naruto laughed out loud. He remembered that place. They wouldn't sell him any clothes to he egged the store with rotten eggs. He had been sold by another place for twice the marked price. Good times. Man, he really wanted the prankster perk now.

Ichiraku's Ramen: Honored Friend (Maxed)

Naruto smiled at his favorite place to eat. He wondered briefly if the old man had anything healthy on his menu? Or if he could request one. That was definitely something to look into.

[Ding! INT increased for logical thoughts]

He cursed the System.

Moving on, he thought of the Village as a whole.

Konoha: Menace (47/100)

That sounded about right… He never did anything to deserve this hatred. He didn't even start the pranks until two years ago, and before that, well, people treated him worse honestly. Nowadays, they simply ignored him for the most part. Sure, there was the glaring and rude remarks, but it had been a while since someone had actively approached him in the street to throttle him or scream his ear off about something he had no part in.

[Tutorial continuing…]

[Scroll Tutorial Beginning]

[You have been given 1 C- Rank Jutsu Scroll for this tutorial. Consider it a gift to begin your new Game with!]

Naruto grinned at that. A free C rank? This was going to be awesome! Soon he'd be throwing around lightning storms and flipping villages upside down. Oh, oh, he could even bury people like Dog-san had that one time! Then he could get a dog companion, just like the man who pisses on people. But… Naruto realized he didn't actually have the scroll. "Wait, I don't have the one from earlier either?"

[To use your newly acquired scroll, please say inventory! And select the item you wish to use.]

"Inventory?" Naruto blinked and a new window popped up. There were several empty spots, with two filled, totaling forty spaces.

[Side note, your inventory can store forty items at a time, from scrolls to crafting materials to bags that have been filled to the brim. You can choose which hand and item goes to from your inventory, so be sure no one is paying too close of attention to you when you pull out a massive sword!]

Naruto quickly glanced around the area, making sure he was still alone, and finally chose the E Skill scroll first. He wanted to save the good one for last. He frowned at the screen and wondered what it meant by select?

[E Skill Scroll selected. What would you like to do with it?]

[Pull out.]

[Use from Inventory]

[Trash]

It was nice to have options, though he wondered where the items went when trashed? But for now, he decided to pull the item out. And it was simply there in his hands. No flash or puff of smoke. It was simply sitting in his hands. "Cool." A new menu popped up as he focus on the scroll, and he selected the use option. Immediately, the scroll puffed away, sending a small plume of smoke spiraling around him, and a new screen popped up.

[E Skill Scroll activated]

[Skills Scrolls can be used to obtain any type of jutsu, technique, weapon skill, or passive ability. Scrolls not marked with (Only) or a (-) symbol give any rank below the listed Rank or two places up. For Example, the E Skill Scroll can be E-, E, E, D-, or D. After using a Random Skill Scroll, a screen will appear, and a lottery will begin at random. Random Skill Scrolls can be upgraded at random with a varying percent chance. Currently, the E Skill Scroll had a .05% Chance of upgrading to a D. Please wait while your new Skill is chosen!]

Scroll by were a variety of words and colors, it was almost fascinating how—

"Naruto!" Quickly, he turned and watched as Iruka ran up to him, worry evident on his face. "Are you alright? I saw smoke? You're not planning a prank back here all alone, are you?"

"Eh? Sensei, what are you doing here?" Naruto tried to play it cool, but his sensei knew something was up immediately.

"I realized you never came to the front, so came back here to see if everything was alright. Then I saw you blowing something up."

"Oh, uh, no! I uh, it was…" Naruto trailed off, thinking hard. Wait, he knew what to say. "It was just a smoke pellet. I was, uhhh, going to throw my old ones out since they were… worn out?"

"Worn out smoke pellets? They last a good few months. When was the last time you bought some?"

A few months? "Two weeks ago." He actually was going to need to throw out that batch. They were already falling apart. Just yesterday, one went off in the middle of dinner and he almost thought the place was on fire from all the smoke. His Landlord hadn't been happy about the noise.

Iruka didn't look happy as he asked, "What? Where'd you buy them at?"

"Moki's Supplies. He's the only one who will sell them to me."

Iruka frowned at the name. "I don't recognize them as a Shinobi Supply store."

Naruto shrugged, really wanting to end this line of conversation. "It's not. It's a craft store. I can't enter the Shinobi stores since I'm only an Academy Student."

"Oh? And who told you that?" There was an odd glint in his eye that Naruto wasn't sure he liked.

"Tanak-sensei. Anyway, Iruka-sensei, I've got to get out of here, places to be, you know." As Naruto tried to jump away from the table, a hand clamped down on his shoulder.

"Say, Naruto. Are you doing anything tomorrow?"

Learning how to play this game. But he couldn't lie when Iruka starred through his soul like that. "Uh… nothing, sensei." It was the weekend, so he had the next two days free, but… why did he get the feeling he wouldn't be really be free?

"Well, how would you like to get some shopping done with me tomorrow? You can get any supplies you need since I'll be accompanying you? I've got my own things to take care of, but you can tag along."

He liked hanging out with Iruka, but—

[Urgent Quest Unlocked!]

[Priority Quest: Saturday Shopping Spree!]

[Shop Til You Really Drop! Visit at least 3 Stores with Iruka!]

[Quest Rewards: 20 Relationship with Iruka Umino, 20 Relationship with Hiruzen Sarutobi, -20 Relationship with ?, ?, and ?, Receive ?, ?, ?]

[Failure will result in unforeseen consequences. Possibly death, but mostly embarrassment for the rest of your life.]

"The old man?" Naruto thought in confusion. Why would he get brought up? "Uh, sure, Sensei."

He definitely didn't want to deal with permanent embarrassment, whatever that would mean.

"Good. Now that's settled, why don't you head home, Naruto? I'm sure you don't want to waste time here at the Academy."

"Uh, right, sensei. I'll head home now." Drat, that meant he'd have to wait to see what kind of skill he got.

The journey only took a few minutes, but what mostly surprised Naruto was the amount of levels he got in one skill.

[Bloodlust Detection Leveled Up! Lvl 2 - 5]

"That's awesome!" Naruto said as he finally walked into his home. Well, it wasn't awesome, awesome, but it was awesome that it leveled up, ignoring the circumstances. Bunch'a bastards.

As he walked into his living room, Naruto noticed there was a large, golden exclamation point floating above his couch. "That almost seems important." He debated for what felt like years, though in reality only a few seconds passed when he simply turned away and walked into his room. He could deal with that later. For now, he wanted to test something.

Naruto removed his pants and celebrated as a notification popped up, saying that his Set Bonus had changed. Instantly he called up his Equipment screen and—"The heck is this!"

Orange Monstrosity (1/2): Half of a bad thing still makes it bad!

-25% to Stealth.

-25% to all relationship gains outside of missions.

50% EXP Gain to stealth when worn.

He cursed and raged against the horrid world that kept him trapped in this hellish cycle. Who didn't like orange? This was a travesty. "A travesty I say!" What did travesty even mean?

Grumbling to himself, Naruto opened the window once more, and noticed it was now blinking rapidly. He mentally claimed the lottery reward and opened his inventory. Grinning, he read the name.

[D Ranked Skill Scroll]

Instantly he pulled out the scroll and used it.

[Vocational Skill, Carpentry obtained!]

That was boring. Like seriously, carpentry? Who needed that? Naruto ignored the multiple holes in his wall, as well as the broken items scattered around the area.

Whatever, he prayed he would at least get a good one from this C- Jutsu Scroll. With a bit of worry, he selected and used it straight from his inventory this time and…
