(AN: Hope you all enjoy. And I'll catch you at the end for a final AN.)
Three out of the eight areas provided. Naruto looked at the map intently, trying to figure out which one he should go to first.
"What if I went to all of them?"
[If that is what you wish, though, will you have time?]
Time was always of the essence with this system. So would he be able to?
He looked at each dot, and a separate quest name hovered over each one.
[Sage Advice From the Monkey King.]
[1/5 Difficulty]
That one sat in the Hokage's office. Which confused Naruto, as the second dot was a little ways away, and read.
[Your Jiji Always Knows Best.]
[1/5 Difficulty]
"Who's in the old man's office?" his question went unanswered, and Naruto glanced at the rest of the map.
Sitting atop the Hokage Monument, right on the head of the Fourth, was a quest labeled:
[A Tear In Space and Time. Catch the Ghost of Your Past.]
[3/5 Difficulty]
Which definitely sounded interesting. He had never met a ghost before. But the next closest dot was a similar sounding quest.
[A Tear In Space and Time. Impress She Who Protects.]
[5/5 Difficulty]
She who protects? What did that mean? It was nestled in a very special area as well, the Park of the Shodaime. And, if Naruto was reading this right, it was at the Tree of the Allies. When Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha broke bread for the first time after the first became Hokag—wait a minute. Where the hell was all this information coming from? "Is this the Gamer's Mind Skill?"
[The information is pertinent to the quest at hand.]
"Right…" He didn't even remember learning that in class recently.
What else was there to see?
[Fated Meeting of Rivaled Steps.]
[2/5 Difficulty]
Looks like Sasuke was still bored at the same training ground of their first fight.
[The Damsel in Distress.]
[4/5 Difficulty]
Was sat inside of the Forest of Death.
[Of Spirals and Whirlpools.]
[3/5 Difficulty]
Was probably not going to happen. It was outside the village, a place he had been before as well. But nothing but ruins were there, and for some reason the Anbu patrolled that area heavily. And finally, the last one was at his apartment.
[Self Reflection of Beast and Man.]
[5/5 Difficulty]
"Do I have a time limit?" He asked the system.
[At Sun rise the tears will depart. Your Rival will not last all night as they tire themselves out. The Forest's issues will always sort themselves out in due time. The Monkey King will retreat should his master return. And your Jiji cannot stay out for long before his Anbu finally finds his hiding spot.]
"What about that Whirlpool one?" Silence was his answer. "That's fine. I can always check later."
Eight missions, three required.
"What if I don't complete three? Why three?" He had to be missing something. Maybe it was to give him a better sense of himself? That sounded boring. Still, the Forest was on the edge of the Village, and was closest to himself. With Sasuke being nearby. He could sneak into the Old Man's office after that to meet with whoever the Monkey King was. After that, the Old Man was nearby.
"That's four done." Did he want to do more? "I should. Only one of those is really difficult. And if I'm to get better, or learn more about this system, then I need to do as much as I can."
He'd start with those first. Get the Hard one out of the way first. Nodding in conviction to himself, Naruto spun and took off for the Forest of Death. He planned to do it at Level 9, but… "Close enough."
Making a dash for the hole in the wall, Naruto booked it through the resting area, once more stepping into the breach, this time with a hell of a lot more Shuriken and Kunai. He had wasted over half of his monthly stipend on them, but man was it worth it. Plus, he was planning on making all that back in the Forest. So a win win situation.
Still, that buzzing was sure as hell annoying.
Angry Agyrtidae
Lvl 9
HP: 90/90
Weakness: Piercing, Wing, Unknown
Strong Against: Slashing
Forcibly, he dispelled his clones back home, nodding in happiness as his Leaf Exercise finally leveled up once more. Then pumped the skill twice to bring out his four clones.
"Let's go!"
The beetle flew low, tearing through the undergrowth, and scattering the group as they all dove in different directions. One, however, took a bad hit and popped.
"I got plenty more bodies where that came from!" Naruto shouted, forming another on its first try.
"Wind Style: Coated Shuriken!" It was pretty nice that the clones also got his equipment as well.
[13 EXP, 21 Ryo]
"Level 9, here I come."
He glanced at the map of the forest and noticed the quest marker was in the next area. A notification popped, and Naruto realized he had his work cut out for him. "Maybe I should have left this quest alone."
[In Order to get through the barrier to the next area, you must defeat the Mini boss of the lower area.]
That was fine though, "Cause I'm Naruto Uzumaki!" Now how am I supposed to find the Mini boss?
[Defeat the require enemies to bring it out of its Den.]
[Angry Agyrtidae 3/10]
[Defending Dorcus 0/5]
Ugh, more bugs, but at least that snake isn't here. Wait, was that Snake the Mini boss? "I hope not. Kami snakes suck. Alright, you maggots! You two go off and kill as many of those bugs as you can. You two, come with me and we'll start hunting!"
Saluting to their creator, the two groups took off. Sadly, however, Naruto realized that unless he was with the clones, while the counts went up, his EXP and Ryo on the other hand, not so much.
[2 EXP, 4 Ryo]
[1 EXP, 3 Ryo]
"Stupid game, Stupid system." He muttered as he felled the sixth beetle. Still, he had yet to find the Dorcus that the game was mentioning. That was, until the ground below him moved, and he was suddenly being thrown through the air.
[11 EXP, 32 Ryo]
"Not now, game!" He shouted while flailing about.
He landed awkwardly on a tree, thankfully feet first. But he winced as the memories rushed back to him as one clone was smashed into a puddle, while the other got caught in its pincers.
"May Kami rest their souls." He whispered fervently. If they even had souls. Wait… "No! Now's not the time."
He did, however, notice that the count of the Dorcus went up, and grinned, quickly throwing an observe at the creature.
Defending Dorcus
Level 10
HP: 130/130
Description: A Large member of the stag beetle family. Can crush a human just as easily as it does a tree. Land based.
[Ding! Observe has Leveled Up!]
"At least it can't fly." New clones joined him, and the group of three scattered. All the while, Naruto thought through a few different choices. While his Coated Shuriken Jutsu was great, and certainly got the job done, it took a bit of setup, plus—
"Wind Style: Coated Shuriken!"
Blocked! Resisted! 4 Damage
126/130
Weaknesses: ?
Strong Against: Wind, Slashing, Piercing
"Shouldn't he be weak against piercing?!" He shouted to the heavens.
"Water Style: Coated Shuriken!"
Blocked! Resisted! 9 Damage
115/130
The weaknesses still hadn't updated, but it looked like water wasn't resisted at least. "Start using the water style!" His clones leaped from their hiding spots and instantly began bombarding the creature.
Hit after hit, the creature thrashed around and Naruto couldn't help but laugh at it. That is until it slammed into the tree he was standing atop, splintering the wood easily. "I should have gotten that tree walking thing!" He barely stuck the landing, taking a hit. But as the beetle turned its ugly head toward him, a single water shuriken dove under its stomach and sliced along its bottom.
Critical Hit! Resisted! 18 damage.
"Ha! It worked!"
Naruto starred up in confusion at the clone that had shouted. "What the heck was that!?"
"I remembered we got that upgrade after the fire! The controllability!"
"Oh right, I forgot about that thing… Hey! Dispel! Let the others know about it!"
"Let everyone know!" The clone pulled forth a kunai, falling to his knees, "That I! Naruto the Second! Went down so that my brethren could become stronger!"
Naruto almost shed a tear as the clone dispelled itself in a gruesome manner. If this were a movie, it would have been such an emotional scene.
"Anyway." He turned from the other clone, summoning another to replace the sacrificed clone, and checked his notifications. Ignoring the two clones as they embraced and cried for their fallen brother.
[Defending Dorcus Defeated!]
[14 EXP, 32 Ryo]
[Angry Agyrtidae 8/10]
[Defending Dorcus 3/5]
"Looks like the other two clones went ahead and killed another Dorcus. How are they finding these things so easily?" He also checked out his EXP.
EXP: 516/550
"Should I just dispel the other two and hunt the rest together? But then it'll take longer."
[1 EXP, 3 Ryo]
[2 EXP, 2 Ryo]
"How are they better than us?!" Naruto ruffled his own hair as two more fliers went down.
"Us?" One of the clones muttered.
"Does he not know we're just cooler than him?"
"Insubordination!" Naruto spun, sticking a pose as he pointed at the two. Only for a Dorcus to fall from the sky, splattering the two clones. "Huh. Maybe I can summon monsters on my enemies."
Two more clones appeared after a few attempts, and Naruto glanced quickly at his chakra control skill.
Leaf Exercise (Lvl 9 97%)
How many levels was it until the skill maxed out? "Hopefully 10."
He and the clones scattered as the creature jumped towards him, "So much for land based!" Clone 1 shouted.
"No time for jokes!"
It was time to test out that new variable, though. Coating four shuriken, Naruto threw the weapons, and instantly felt what the clone had.
The creature charged toward him, but he held fast. Two shuriken slid along the tops of its armor, dealing only 12 damage total, but the other two twisted slightly as the water spread out.
"Jackpot!"
They carved through the beast's belly, and the creature collapsed, sliding to a stop just a few inches away.
Critical Hit! Resisted! 35 Damage!
Critically Wounded! Crippled!
Stunned for 5 seconds!
"Get him!" Naruto shouted.
One minute later and two notifications popped up
[15 EXP, 34 Ryo]
[1 EXP, 2 Ryo]
[10/10]
[5/5]
"Huh." Naruto looked around. There wasn't much fanfare…
A loud shriek filled the forest, and Naruto swung around as a flashing red symbol of a beetle appeared.
"Let's go!" Hopefully, his clones reached the creature. He glanced at the time and grinned. It had only been ten minutes since he first entered, and he was making good progress. "I wonder why they give a whole 90 minutes?"
Still, Naruto wanted to be prepared. So he made a quick decision and opened his skill purchase list.
Slashing didn't work too well on either of the bugs so far, and piercing only worked on one. So he wanted a non-physical bludgeoning skill. Putting that into the filter, Naruto instantly grimaced.
All the wind based ones needed Low Chakra Control… at least. But there was a water based one that seemed promising.
Water Style: Descending Sphere D Rank: Forms a large sphere of water that the user can control. Contrary to popular belief, the Descending part is optional, and can be moved side to side, or even up. Costs at least 35 Chakra per use. (Note: This jutsu has a varied cost due to a changeable attribute.)
Costs 1 Skill Point
Requirements Needed: Water Nature Transformation Level 2. Chakra Control needed: Poor.
He mentally selected the more information option, and debated on the damage.
10-25 Bludgeoning Damage
35% Armor Penetration
Smallest Size: Water Balloon
Largest Size: Beach Ball
The armor penetration was nice, at least. Especially if he could use it against those damn Dorcus.
"Fine. So long as it gives me something else in my arsenal." It was the perfect time to take the jutsu, as suddenly the trees below him disappeared, and he landed in a roll against the soft grass of a clearing. Before him was the towering, dark, gaping maw of a cave, and inside was the deadly screech of a massive creature. His other two clones landed beside him, and he quickly thanked them, then dispelled and re-summoned the four so they would have access to their newest jutsu.
[Warning, Chakra critical.]
He looked at his stats in confusion, but sure enough, he only had 247 left. "Alright, boys! We'll try the wind coating first! If that doesn't work, try the water. If nothing else, keep up the coatings, and I'll use our newest jutsu!" He must have had a nice regeneration bonus, as his charka was already up to 298.
It sucked that he still only needed 15 EXP for the next level, but he'd survive. Quickly checking the time, Naruto realized it was only six thirty in the evening.
"I've got time." He nodded to himself. "Alright boys! Keep your titles to whatever works best and let's get this show on the road!"
His first boss.
Creeping through the cave, Naruto stayed along the gray cave walls, inching further and further in, all the while keeping his eyes peeled. And that's when he saw it.
Towering in the back of a large cavern was a creature wrapped in chains and screeching at the ceiling.
Shackled Syntelia
Lvl 13
Description: Sealed by the Second Hokage himself, the Shackled Syntelia was a horrid chakra mutation summoned on accident by the Shodaime when he created the forests of Konoha. If not sealed, the Syntelia would have eaten and rotted the entire country. In its prime it was as strong as the One Tailed beast, Shukaku. Long has it lied dormant, and long has its shackles drained its power.
A Lvl 13 had given the Kage trouble? Still, he could see why if it ate all the trees of Konoha, but it didn't look that strong. "If only I had a fire jutsu, I bet I could burn the bastard out."
"Let's get this bastard!"
His clones roared with him as they charged.
Now, a smart man would have used their distance to get some extra damage in before the creature realized he was there.
Naruto's INT was only 15, however, and his WIS was 14. So…
Resisted! 1 Damage
Resisted! 1 Damage
Resis—
Naruto shouted for the group to change titles, and they immediately switched to water styes.
Resisted! 4 Damage
Barely better, but it was something. He made to try out his newest jutsu, when a shriek filled the air once more, nearly deafening him, and popping one of the clones.
Shriek of the Beetle Queen!
All enemies within ranged and can hear are stunned for 3 seconds.
5% chance to rupture eardrums
Cooldown of 1 Minute
A new line had appeared under its observe revealing a list of skills, only one was shown, however, and Naruto grimaced. It's HP was still ?, and it resisted piercing and slashing. Still…
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" He expended the necessary chakra and reform his clones, only for the ground to begin shaking violently.
"Jump!" One of his clones shouted.
His newest clone wasn't as fast as everyone jumped, and stone spikes ruptured from the ground reaching for everyone, and killing his newest clone.
"Damn it!" Those were expensive. At least he got half of its chakra back.
Still.
A new clone joined the rest, and each one scattered as Naruto checked the creature's newest skill.
Stone Spike Rupture
Stone spikes attack from underneath, trying to skewer anything on the ground.
25 Damage
Cooldown 30 seconds
And it had already been ten.
"In 20 seconds, she's gonna use that again!"
Naruto let his hands fall into a horse sign, and a shaky ball of water the size of a water balloon appeared over the beetle's mouth. "Drop!" It barely got any speed, but Naruto could see the potential immediately.
Hit! 9 Damage
And finally.
HP 308/350
That was a lot of damage. But it didn't resist bludgeoning or Water, which meant it did its job. So if he made it bigger, and a little higher up or furthur away…
Everyone leaped into the air the second the ground began to shake, and Naruto couldn't help but blow a raspberry at the creature, only for two clones to instantly get skewered through the heart as stone staves flew from the walls.
Staves of Stone
Staves made of stone are rained down at nearby enemies. Slow, but hard to dodge in mid air.
10 Damage
Cool down of 15 seconds.
Two new clones appeared, and Naruto winced as his notifications blared at him for low Chakra.
"Stay on your toes, all of you!" Those Earth clones were looking pretty good now that he remembered them. Too bad he needed Lvl 2 Earth Nature Transformation to learn it, and that cost 4 skill points to buy.
He tried his water jutsu again, making it bigger as his chakra slowly refilled itself. His clones set to work as well, throwing shuriken after shuriken, yet its health was barely going down.
Hit! 34 Damage!
259/350
With his bonuses from his title and water nature level, the damage was great.
"Oi, clone! How much chakra are you born with? 100?"
"100 boss!" the nearest clone called out.
"Anyone with over 50, use your Water Sphere! Make it far away and at its max size!"
He could handle this. All he had to do was watch out for its skills… "Wait?" Naruto said aloud as the group jumped once more to dodge the skewers. That was its third use on a 30 second cool down, but it hadn't used its—a shrill screech echoed through the cave, and the group froze in midair, clasping their ears.
Naruto tried to twist, but his body refused to respond, and a stave of stone slammed through his shoulder.
"Boss!"
The pain was unbearable as his blood leaked everywhere, staining the stone. One of his clones popped as it was destroyed as well, but Naruto couldn't think straight as his wound screamed in agony. Or was that him actually screaming?
Gamer's Mind (Lvl MAX) Activated.
A clone fell to his side, and harshly yanked the rod from his shoulder, but the pain was just barely numbed into a simple stinging sensation.
Hit! 10 Damage
32/42
Naruto grit his teeth through the pain as he stood, and decided to dispel all his clones forcibly.
"Come on, you bug! Is that all you've got?"
Fifteen seconds had passed, and he rolled to dodge two more rods. He checked his chakra and was thankful it was already back to 504. He re-summoned his clones, all the while thinking of his most brilliant plan ever.
"You're going down, your highness!"
Five spheres of water formed, and four of them hit their target, while the other whiffed.
"Anyone who misses or dies gets dispelled without any ramen!" He lied, but the effect was instantaneous. Stone spikes and rods were dodged with ease and the group realized they only had thirty seconds before the next round of skill.
"If she gets off another screech, it might be while we're still standing on the ground!" And if he got hit by the rods as well as the spikes. He was dead. Which meant if they didn't kill it fast enough, they needed to at least jump early. Or pray the two rods went for a clone… which wouldn't happen if they all died from the spikes.
"Thirty Seconds!" He shouted.
HP: 123/350
Two more spheres hit it dead on for 68 damage.
"Two more!" Naruto rolled as another rod shattered against the stone ground he had occupied. One clone was currently forming the jutsu got screamed as well. So this time, only a single sphere hit.
HP: 21/350
"Water Style: Descending Sphere!" He shouted himself, smashing the sphere against the creature's face, and an audible crack was heard as one of its mandibles broke off, hitting the ground with a loud thud.
But it still screech.
Stunned for 3 seconds!
Naruto slapped his hands over his ears in agony, but… the creature did not attack, and instead dove straight into the stone floor, moving into it like water, and taking its chains with it. The stone solidified over the top of it, and… they won.

"No!" Naruto shouted, mentally kicking himself. "My DEX!"
He forgot to change his title back.
"This sucks!"
He dispelled his clones and rubbed the back of his neck. Now to get out of—oh! Right. "I've got to go deal with that other quest!"
He booked it immediately to the flashing dot, re-summoning his clones, and checking out another notification. Well, two of them.

Finally! Even while spamming them all week since the fire, it had taken forever for the skill to level up. He didn't get a new variable, however, unlike what had happened with the wind shuriken. Though he could now summon a fifth clone. Getting those next 15 levels was going to be so annoying for that extra title.
It only took two tries to get his newest clone into action, and the other four rejoiced for whatever reason.
"Brother!" They embraced with a golden glow.
"Enough hugging. We've got work to do!" He shouted after them as they tore through the forest. He really needed to take time to heal up, but…
[You have entered the second area of The Forest of Death!]
[Warning, your level is quite low. The Recommended Level is 10.]
"Levels, schmevels!" Naruto Uzumaki could over come anything he put his mind to! So long as it wasn't that giant snake…
Kami he hoped he wouldn't have to deal with that thing…
A loud roar ripped through the area, and Naruto skid to a halt, looking around in worry while pulling out his kunai.
"Definitely wasn't a bug." He muttered. Sounded more like a monster or bear or something. Cautiously, he signed for his clones to continue on. And slowly, they continued through the trees, until finally arriving at the dot, which turned into a large red area.
Almost deciding to split his clones up, Naruto paused just as a loud roar repeated itself nearby, and he heard what sounded like a woman. Cursing like that old shopkeeper after Naruto filled his shop with Inuzuka dog poop bags.
He deserved that.
Still. "Come on boys, we've got a princess to save!" He always wanted to be the knight in shining armor, rescuing the princess from an evil—"Holy crap is that supposed to be a flaming monkey!"
Burning Branisella
Level 12
Description: A Rare enemy with oily hair that is easily flammable. The Branisella themselves are immune to the effects, but use it well when fighting.
Thankfully, there was only one, but three other enemies stood behind it.
Chattering Catarrhini
Level 11
Description: A monkey that knows how to use its loud voice as a weapon. This, coupled with their impressive teamwork, makes the Catarrhinis a troubling foe.
The creatures were surrounding a woman who was waving a kunai around, trying desperately to fend the creatures off.
"Have no fear! The future Hokage is here!" The woman wasn't really staying still, so he didn't get a good look at her face, but he could tell from the way her left arm hung limply at her side, and the way she was leaking blood like crazy, she was definitely injured.

[Description: Save the Damsel in Distress from the attacking apes. Make sure she doesn't take anymore damage.]
[Rewards: 5 Relationship with?, 50 EXP, 1500 Ryo, 1 D Rank Skill Scroll.]
"Charge!" Two of his clones shouted and followed through while three others leaped to the side preparing their newest jutsu. Naruto joined the three, and, remembering the Sphere's description, he summoned the jutsu not above the creatures, but a little was behind them. He then proceeded to slam it straight into the back of the fiery creature.
Critical Hit! Weakness! 60 Damage
HP: 140/200
"Ha!" He shouted at the now smoldering monkey. "Drown in my awesomeness!"
A multitude of shuriken, kunai, and more spheres slammed into the backs of the creatures curtesy of his clones. But… the flaming monkey looked like he had bigger plans. It leaped into the air and threw an arm into the air.
"That monkey knows how to use jutsu!" Naruto dove to the side as a fireball flew past his head. It was really only about the size of a baseball, but still!
"Save the boss!" His clones roared a challenge, and for the first time, he felt a surge of camaraderie… with himself?
Jutsu flew through the air alongside chakra coated metal, and soon, Naruto himself joined in the onslaught.

[19 EXP, 52 Ryo.]
[19 EXP, 54 Ryo.]

"Ha! Take that, you furry bastards!" Now he had a date with a beautiful princess.
And beautiful was right. Though the princess part was far from it. Long purple hair tied in a spiky ponytail made her seem almost exotic. But the princess part was soured from the fishnet clothing and trench coat that left little to the imagination. Not to even mention the foul language.
"What the fuck is a kid doing here?!" She seemed angry that he had come to her rescue.
"Well, excuuuuse me, princess." Naruto rolled his eyes.
"P-Princess!" she roared.
"You're welcome for saving your life. I bet if I hadn't of come along—"
She waved her good arm around wildly, gesturing about, "Look around you, kid! You need to get the hell out of here."
He looked around, not really paying any attention. "What? It's just a bunch of monkeys and…" Corpses. Several of them. They all wore dark clothes and wore masks. Cloth ones instead of the porcelain animal masks of the Anbu. "What?"
"There's at least one left, kid. Go!" But her eyes widened in shock, and Naruto felt a hand on his shoulder as two clones were killed off out of nowhere. The woman threw her good arm up, and his captor began to speak.
"Surrender or I kill the ki—" A snake flew from the woman's coat, latching onto the man's throat. He let go of Naruto, who spun, lashing out with a kick. Before the man or woman could do anything else, his three remaining clones were dogpiling the man, punching, kicking, and—
"Hey! Spit that out, you can put that in your mouth!" He shouted at Clone #2, who was chewing on the man's leg. "You don't know where he's been! Think of all the monkey poop!"
The woman flew past Naruto, and she shoved away the clones, forming a snake sign and causing a dozen snakes to wrap around his bodying, tying him up.
"Yeah, suck it!" Naruto kicked the guy in his leg. Even as the woman shook her head.
"What are you, five?" the woman rolled her eyes. But her notification said otherwise.
[1 relationship with ?]
"Oh, right?" Naruto muttered and quickly used an observe.
Name: Anko Mitarashi
Title: The Snake Mistress
Job: Special Jonin
Level: 42
STR: 41
CON: 36
DEX: 68
INT: 65
WIS: 47
LUK: 49
Relationship: [Neutral 46/50]
"Snake Mistress, huh? Not much of a princess." He accidentally said out loud.
"Oh, so you've heard of me, huh brat?" She leaned forward, and Naruto involuntarily blushed and looked away as her cleavage was pushed up.
"Hey, hey, you pervert!" He waved his arms frantically while looking away, bright red.
"Ha! Who are you calling a pervert you—" She swayed on her feet, and her good arm reached up to grip her head.
Naruto and his clones were on her instantly, asking, "Are you alright?"
She shrugged them off. "I'll be fine… just make yourself useful and grab this guy. How'd you even get in here? All the gates are locked except the main one, and my summons are guarding that."
"Is he even still alive?" Naruto ignored her words.
"Whatever." She merely muttered, shaking her head.
"So… where's this exit?" He asked. Hopefully, it wasn't too far away, otherwise would he even be able to leave?
"It's not too far away. Just make some clones and start grabbing bodies." Naruto grimaced at the aspect, but with his gamer mind, Naruto realized he wasn't opposed to the idea. Should he feel this way, though? About transporting corpses like this? Sometimes this skill was both a blessing and a curse.
Still, they made it through the gates, depositing the human bodies that Naruto had been able to carry, with Anko saying she was almost out of chakra and couldn't make any.
"I sent a summon to get reinforcements a few minutes ago, so they should be here any second."
"Oh, is it Anbu?"
She shrugged. "Probably. I just told them to find the nearest Jonin, at least. So it could be."
Nodding along, Naruto turned to his clones, barking orders. "I'm going to dispel all but one of you. You'll be going to run an errand for me while I wait with the princess."
"Why do you keep calling me that, brat? You shrimp." She added on an insult, but he continued on.
"Your bravery this night was… commendable." He walked in front of his clones, hands behind his back and his head tall. "What I'm trying to say is… Good job."
"Boss!" The clones began to cry.
"Dismissed." In poofs of smoke, all but one non crying clones remained, who simply looked at Naruto like he was an idiot.
"Alright, I'll… see you, lady, I guess." The clone mumbled, speeding off in the direction of the Village proper.
"Hm, you didn't tell him what errand you had," Anko pointed out.
"He knows. And if he doesn't, well, he'll rue the day he was born." God speed.
"Here come the reinforcements."
Naruto looked around in confusion. "How do you know? I don't see any—"
"Report!" Three men fell from the sky, landing in crouches before the two.
Anko rolled her eyes and elbowed Naruto, saying, "Jeez, look at them. Not even a good evening. Or how are you today?"
Silence greeted her from the Anbu.
"Fine. I discovered an infiltrator, when I followed them, I found a whole gathering. Some monkeys from the Forest interrupted their meeting, and I joined in the confusion. I was injured a bit, but managed to kill five of the six. The sixth decided to sneak away when the monkeys turned their sights on me. This brat suddenly appeared. He won't tell me from where, but he fought off the monkeys, then got held hostage, and I saved him. There's your quick note. Now, I think I'm bleeding out, and the kid looks like he's got a pretty decent sized hole in his shoulder. So can we continue this in the hospital? If you follow the trail of my blood, you'll be able to find the meeting place. If you want a summon, let me know now, because I'm about to run off of chakra."
"Huh, detailed." Naruto muttered. "But one problem. I totally saved your life!"
"I had it handled, shrimp."
Naruto grinned in mischief. "Nah, I totally saved you, princess."
"Princess?" One of the Anbu muttered.
"Yeah! Cause she was a damsel in dis—"
A hand shot over his mouth, and he could feel the woman's glare burning through the side of his head.
"Now, now, shrimp. Unless you want snakes hunting you for the rest of your life, I'd suggest keeping your mouth shut. No?"
He licked her hand.
She still did not move it.
"Fine." He muttered.
Naruto received a pat on the head. "Good boy."
"Owl, escort them to the hospital."
"Oh," Naruto began before the group could continue. "I can't go."
"What?" the group muttered, staring at his wound.
"Yeah, you see. They can't help me. I'm running on limited time anyhow."
"Were you poisoned?" Anko was on him instantly, checking his wound, and looking into his eyes. "Tell me now, kid, I'm an expert in venom and poison. Is there something else that's wrong?"
He was almost touched by her sudden concern. "Nah, I'm just a clone."
"We need to get him to the hospital asap. Owl, why don't you shun—clone?"
"Hi." He waved. "And bye."
With a poof of smoke, the boy disappeared, and the group was left in shock.
Naruto laughed as the memories rushed back to him, nearly blowing his cover as he snuck through the Hokage office's air ducts. The looks on their faces had been awesome.
(AN: Sorry it's been a few days, everyone. Been so busy with work I haven't had a chance to sit down. Anyway, hope you all enjoyed, and don't forget to leave a review in order to fuel me. Take care!)
