"It is time that you will finally prove yourself worthy of your name and my legacy. The legacy that I have built on my own with my own two hands. The legacy I have spent my whole life crafting and perfecting. The legacy that will be yours if you can prove to me that you are actually worthy of it," Maleficent boasted her eyes staring deep into Mal's doe eyed emerald green ones. Mal's little face glued to hers as she hung onto every word.

This was finally her chance. She could finally get her mommy's love and attention. She could finally prove that she was worthy. She couldn't believe it. Her mommy actually needed her.

"You will go to Auradon. You will find the Fairy Godmother and you will bring me back her magic wand," Maleficent continued on. With those words Mal felt her whole world crash in on herself. She wanted to prove herself to her mommy, it was the only thing she ever wanted, but she still didn't want to go to Auradon. "No!" Mal cried out before she could stop herself. Everything stopped. The room suddenly grew colder.

Maleficent's gaze hardened. Her beady eyes staring daggers at Mal's tiny form. "What… did… you…just…say," Maleficent's voice darkened. Mal felt her body start to heat up and her heart felt like it was going to beat out of her little chest.

She wanted to take it back but she knew it was too late now. "Yeah that's what I thought! You're going to go and get me the wand or I'll make sure that you don't even live to see 5 years old!" Maleficent threatened in her cold voice.

Mal's eyes widened in fear. She knew that she was supposed to be proving that she was brave and strong but those words were too hard for her to ignore. Maleficent watched her shaking her head in disgust and disappointment. She wrapped her clawed fingers around Mal's tiny wrist squeezing it tightly as she roughly pushed Mal down onto the nearby chair.

Mal closed her eyes, the tears starting to form again. She tried her best to hold them back but some managed to slip out.

"You're weak and you better not blow this for me," Maleficent called out, still glaring over at her. The others were too preoccupied with their own parents to step in. Not that they would be able to actually step in for this but it was definitely worse having their parents there.

"I won't let you down mommy," Mal replied while wiping away the tears the best she could with the oversized sleeve of her one good hand, forgetting once again that she wasn't supposed to use that word around her. Maleficent glared once more before moving on. She was too determined to make sure that this plan worked to get too worked up over that pathetic label again.

It wouldn't be long before the limo arrived and she needed to make sure that everything was in place for this to go as it needed. Up until now Mal had been useless and a waste of her time and genetics.

She still didn't understand how someone so soft and weak could come from someone as powerful and strong as herself. If it wasn't for the fact that she needed an heir Mal would have been buried 6 feet under ground by now.

This opportunity however was finally giving some use to the tiny burden and Maleficent was not going to let that go to waste. She was finally going to make them all suffer for what they had done. She could already taste the power.

"Villains, our time has come!" Maleficent continued on as she rallied the other parents together. Evie watched them trying her best to keep up her ditzy persona especially with her mom right there.

She needed to really turn it up. Luckily for Evie she had gotten really good at faking it. She knew exactly what she was supposed to do and say to satisfy her mother. The one thing she wasn't expecting however was the magic mirror.

Evie had heard all the stories about the mirror and how powerful it was. The small mirror that was being placed in her hands honestly felt like a joke however.

It was small enough to fit in one hand. There was no way that this was the same magic mirror she had heard all about.

"This is your magic mirror?"

She knew she probably shouldn't have said that. It was never good to question their power. Looking at the sharded mirror in her hand she just couldn't help herself.

"Well it's not what it used to be. You can blame Auradon for that. They took everything from us. Don't forget that," her mother's sharp words rang out. It was obvious Evie hit a nerve.

Evie slowly nodded, putting on a fake ditzy smile as she picked the mirror up and pretended to focus on herself in the mirror. She knew it was best for herself to blend in again. This was a game of survival and Evie had learned that from an early age.

"It might not be what it used to be but you will be using it to find the wand. Now as for you Mal, I have something even better. Come now hurry up. We don't have much time," Maleficent ordered.

"Coming mommy," Mal quickly replied in her little voice. Slowly she kicked her little legs trying her best to get down. She was too high up for her small legs to reach the floor however making it harder for her to get down.

Maleficent shook her head in disgust again as she made her way over. Her clawed fingers gripping the collar of Mal's shirt, pulling it upwards. "Enough of that word!" Maleficent hissed with her sharp voice. She had let those words slip too many times and Mal was taking too long to get down.

She was running out of time. Mal needed to be punished for this. "Get down now or I'll make you!" Maleficent threatened once more. Her patience was no longer there.

"I'm twying," Mal whispered while kicking her little legs harder, trying more to get down. Those words only seemed to anger her mother more.

"You shouldn't be trying! You should be able to get down! This is what I mean by you're weak and pathetic! How are you supposed to continue my legacy if you can't even get down from a freaking chair!" Maleficent's tone sharpened, her fingers letting go of Mal's shirt collar sending the small girl flying forward straight onto the floor. A high pitched wail quickly following.

Evie closed her eyes tightly, trying her best to not react. She could feel the boys doing the same. They couldn't show that they cared. Not in front of their parents. Evie gripped tightly onto the mirror as the piercing sound continued to echo through the room.

Her heart felt like it was being ripped out of her chest and she couldn't do anything to stop it.

"Enough! Get up now and stop with that patheticness! How many times have I told you that villains do not cry!" Maleficent continued on with her abrading.

Mal slowly nodded as she struggled to get up. The pain was still radiating from her small body, but she couldn't let her mommy down. She needed to prove that she could do this. She wasn't weak. She was strong and her mommy was gonna see that.

Fighting through the pain, Mal made her way over to where her mommy was again. "See now was that so hard," Maleficent replied with her fake motherly voice.

"Now as I was saying earlier. I have something for you. This is my spell book. It doesn't work here but it will in Auradon," Maleficent continued again as she pulled out her book from the fridge she was using as a safe.

With those words Mal's eyes lit up. She was being trusted with something important that belonged to her mommy. She couldn't believe it. Her attention was now fully back while she held onto every word again.

"She can't even read yet!" Evie wanted to scream out, but she didn't. Mal was barely even 4 years old. What use did she have for something she couldn't even read? Not to mention how dangerous that could be.

Maleficent didn't seem to understand that however as she continued on with her speech before shoving the book at Mal and sending the 4 of them off.

"Isn't there supposed to be four of you and where did that child come from?" The limo driver asked them when they made their way over.

"The child is the fourth one of us," Jay replied sarcastically while carefully helping Mal into the limo after Evie. He knew Evie would want Mal by her side the whole time.

"I no need help," Mal tried to argue back, but stopped when her eyes caught sight of all the candy surrounding the limo. Her focus now solely on the candy.

"Candy!" Mal squealed out, her small hand reaching to grab as much candy as she could. "Well I guess we didn't need to go through all that trouble in finding that lollipop," Carlos playfully told them, making Evie roll her eyes as she watched Mal.

"Okay baby dragon I think that's enough candy," Evie tried to stop her, but Mal shook her little head as she continued to grab more. Never in her entire 4 years of life had she ever seen this much candy before. It was like a dream come true.

"Okay lighten up E. Let the kid have some fun. When is this ever gonna happen again," Jay cut in when he could sense the tension Evie was feeling.

Evie gave him a warning glare before gently reaching over to grab some of the candy from Mal. "I don't want her getting sick."

"Hey that mine!" Mal cried out, her one good arm trying to reach towards the candy Evie had taken from her. "Mal no more. You're gonna get sick," Evie lectured.

Mal tried to argue again but the look Evie was giving her made her stop. It however didn't stop her from stuffing her pockets with the candy.

Evie rolled her eyes but didn't say anything. She didn't like the fact that Mal was saving that much candy, but she knew that with Mal you had to pick your battles and at least Mal had stopped eating the candy for now.

Once Mal was satisfied with the amount of candy she was saving, she turned her attention to something else. Her small hand grabbed the remote that was by her as her curiosity grew.

She didn't know what it was but the buttons had her intrigued. Mal began to push them just as the driver pushed one up front rolling down the barrier that was dividing them from him.

Once the barrier was down, Mal stood up on the seat wanting to see over it. Her eyes immediately widened when she saw the broken bridge. "Ebie!" Mal cried out, fear hitting her voice as she immediately reached over for the blue haired girl. Evie quickly looked up before grabbing her, and pulling her close to her in a protective hold refusing to let go as she then leaned into Jay.

Jay held on tightly to Evie and Carlos as the four of them huddled up together with their eyes closed. They should have known that this would be a trap. Why would Auradon actually want 4 villain kids?
