Night glided through the late evening sky, now gliding over the Sea of Okhotsk. He had been doing nothing but socializing with the friendly dragoness in his head the whole way but they had been silent for the last couple minutes as Hope looked over the world to find the carrier.
It's almost funny in a way. Night can say that a god sent him to destroy that carrier...
He straightened up as Hope started speaking again, "Turn a hair bit more to your left, you are almost there."
Night nodded his head and lightly bent a hair bit to the left, just flicking his right wing tip a little bit to bank. "I forgot to ask, but are there any other ships with it?"
"I wouldn't have sent you after it if there were, It's leaving from China after re-fueling and it's now making its way back to the main fleet." Hope answered, "But I do sense ships nearing it so we need to hurry."
Night grinned and nodded, slowly starting to dive shallowly to pick up speed, "I have an idea on how to destroy it, I don't remember who is name is but he sunk two different carriers in one day dropping armor piercing bombs."
"His name was Richard Best... he would have loved to grow wings after that battle," Hope said somberly.
Night suddenly felt sick just thinking about it. He would probably have a mental break down if he suddenly wasn't able to fly any more, especially now that he was a dragon.
"A lot of dragons killed themselves if they lost the ability to fly..." Hope mumbled, "Especially the SkyWings who lived for flying."
Night shook his head but froze when a smell hit his nostrils making them twitch.
Smoke
They were close if he was able to smell exhaust fumes that followed all of Russia's ships.
He slightly closed his wings and started dropping from the sky, trying to get out from above the clouds so he could see below them.
When he went through the clouds, it was almost as if he had teleported to a completely different world altogether. From where it went from a white fluffy plain of clouds and a partially lit sky, to almost immediate darkness and a world below filled with water. A smile came over his face. He loved flying so much.
He followed the smell of the exhaust fumes and it didn't take him long to find the lone carrier slowly making its way through the waves, heading to the direction of the Japanese coast. It was such an easy target and it almost made him sick to his stomach that the spies, the information service, or the fact that it was so alone was known to anyone in the US Military... he shook his head and started diving towards the water, not wanting to be picked up on its radar that was likely active at all times on such an important ship.
"So how are you going to get near the ship then?" Hope asked him, sounding confused.
Night smiled, "Very carefully, if I go in a perfectly straight line from the back end and stay extremely close to the water, it shouldn't be able to pick me up." he said as his stomach almost hit the waves below him. The mist coming from the waves chilling his scales in a soothingway.
There were a couple close calls as he made his way towards the back of the carrier, a couple waves clipping his wings but he was just strong enough to power through them.
He came up on the back of the carrier and he through himself up just in time to clamp down on the back end of the deck, praying to... well someone, that nobody heard the loud metal clanging. Hope giggled in his mind by his thoughts, "Oh yes Night, pray to ME," she started laughing and he blushed at that.
He shook his head, "Did anyone here me?"
Hope was quiet for a hair bit, "Ehh... I don't think so, it's a bit harder for me to hear Human minds than dragon minds."
Night accepted that and he lightly peaked over the flight deck, nobody had seemed to hear him. And it made sense, there were always loud sounds going on the outside of his old aircraft carrier. There were a couple people walking around the flight deck, but they just seemed to be standing around and enjoying the outside. He brought his head back down.
Now how am I going to do this?
He brought some of his own grenades that he had made, but they weren't big enough alone to sink a carrier. Some of the jets on the flight deck had bombs like he was planning to use originally, but it would almost be impossible to grab one of those with ought getting caught.
Night heard Hope laugh in his mind again, "I think I have an idea."
Night nodded his head to himself, waiting for her to coninue.
"Long ago, we had a situation almost like this and we..." Night listened to her explanation and a smile came over him.
Night smiled at the idea, "This is almost too good." he slowly climbed on the walls of the carrier to the side the bomber jets were sitting on top of the flight deck, a couple of Yak-38s sitting tightly.
Night pulled a grenade out of his pocket and pulled the pin, "Are you watching Hope?" he mumbled.
"Definitely"
With that, he through the grenade across the opposite side of the carrier as hard as he could. The grenades were as large as a 7 pound shell, so the explosion it gave off was quite large.
BOOOM!
Water sprayed into the air and the yelling started as people ran to the side of the flight deck that the explosion came from. Night took his chance and suddenly flipped over the top of the flight deck while people were distracted and ripped the jet back down over the side, ripping one of the large bombs off as he did so and dove into the water so quickly, nobody could have seen him. He swam to keep up with the aircraft carrier and made his way to the back of the carrier again, gently holding the bomb as he swam. He climbed up the back of the carrier, his sharp claws piercing through the nooks and crannies on the back. "So lets see if this works," he voiced out loud, not caring if anyone heard him.
It wouldn't matter if someone heard him now.
He ripped open one of the doors on the back deck and through the bomb into the opening, people screaming as he did so. Night shook his head, poor people never knew what came to them.
He pulled out another grenade and pulled the pin on it, "Poka, priyatnogo pogruzheniya," he said happily as he through the grenade next to the bomb. He just let himself fall into the water, smiling as he fell into the water.
BOOOOM
Night started laughing in the water as the carrier blew up from the back, there was no coming back from that. That bomb had to be at least a ton and it was inside the fragile back deck. Even if the carrier didn't sink, it would be knocked out for at least a year.
Another explosion went off, shocking Night. A large fireball was spotted through the water's surface. That was an ammunition explosion...
They were carrying extra ammunitions... they never carried ammo in the back of carriers.
The carrier was now sinking fast, so Night made sure to swim as far away from the wreckage as he could. His mind racing as he did so.
Why were they carrying extra ammunition like that in such an important ship? That was asking for trouble... unless.
They were running out of cargo ships.
A large smile broke out on his face, memories of sinking multiple ships flashing through his head.
Oh, this was rich... the military had to be informed of this.
