Chapter 7: the plan to bring back gohan

IN DBZ dimension

"Shenron sent me to a place where I can make penance," said Gohan, making his wish to Shenron.

"Gohan, what are you doing?" yelled Piccolo.

"Gohan, please!" pleaded Chi-Chi, tears in her eyes.

Then Shenron's eyes glowed red. "Your wish has been granted," he said. Gohan was enveloped in a bright light and vanished.

"Gohan, why did you...?" Piccolo asked himself.

"Speak your next wish," Shenron said.

"Bring Gohan back," Piccolo asked.

"It can't be done," Shenron replied.

"What do you mean it can't be done?" Piccolo asked.

"It is beyond my power," Shenron answered.

"If it's beyond your power, then how did you send him?" Piccolo asked.

"There are limitations to my power when it comes to traversing other dimensions," Shenron explained.

"Okay then, send me to New Namek," Piccolo asked.

Suddenly, Piccolo vanished from sight.

"Can somebody tell me why Piccolo went to New Namek?" Krillin asked.

"Maybe he'll use the Namekian Dragon Balls to bring Gohan back," Yamcha suggested.

"I don't think that will work," said Dende.

"Why not? The Namekian Dragon Balls are more powerful than the Earth Dragon Balls," krillin asked.

"Yes, but even though they're more powerful, they can't mass revive people. There are certain limitations that I'm not sure can overcome this," Dende explained.

Just then, two figures appeared on the lookout: Goku and Piccolo.

"Hey, Piccolo! Goku! What happened? Why did you go to Namek?" Krillin asked.

"Even the Namekian Dragon Balls can't help us," Piccolo said.

"Hey, can somebody tell me what's going on? Why am I back to life?" Goku asked.

"Because your foolish reasoning made your son leave this place and go to a far-off dimension, one where even Shenron can't reach!" yelled Piccolo.

"What? What do you mean by that?" Goku asked.

They explained what had happened to Goku. Goku saw that Chi-Chi was still in tears. He approached her with a heavy heart. He realized it was his fault Gohan had left.

"Chi-Chi, I... I didn't expect this to happen. I thought you all would be safe and that Gohan would be safe if I wasn't around. But I made a terrible mistake. I promise I'll make sure to bring Gohan back."

"Speak your final wish. I'm running out of patience," Shenron said.

"Will you be quiet for a while? You can sleep until we decide what to do," Piccolo snapped.

Then Bulma approached. "Hey, Shenron, before I make my wish, I want to ask you something. Is it possible for us to reach that dimension without your help? Can we create a device that can help us?" she asked.

"It may be possible, but I am not sure. The dimension where Gohan went is overseen by entities far more powerful than me," Shenron replied.

"Can you give us the location of the dimension where Gohan went?" Bulma asked.

Shenron's eyes glowed. "Your wish has been granted. Farewell," he said, and then disappeared.

"So, what are you going to do, Bulma?" Krillin asked.

"I don't know. I'll try to build a machine that can help us travel to different dimensions," Bulma said.

"Is it possible?" Future Trunks asked.

"I'll try. If Future Me could build the time machine, it may be possible. But I'll need help. Can you bring Future Me here so she can assist me?" Bulma asked.

"No problem, but there's only enough fuel left for one trip," Future Trunks replied.

"We can create the fuel. You go to the future, defeat your androids and Cell, and then we can work on it. We don't know what's happening to Gohan in that dimension," Bulma said.

Goku remained silent throughout this conversation.

"Goku, what are you thinking?" Krillin asked.

"Even in death, I'm a trouble magnet, bringing trouble to the people I care about," Goku said.

"Goku, it's not your fault," Krillin tried to reassure him.

"No, Krillin. If I had listened to Gohan, this wouldn't have happened," Goku replied.

"There's nothing we can do for now. Let's hope Bulma can build a device," Piccolo said.

"Dende," Goku called.

"Yes, Goku?" Dende replied.

"The power of the Dragon Balls is linked to your strength, right?" Goku asked.

"Yes, why do you ask?" Dende answered.

"If Dende can increase his strength and power, he might be able to upgrade Shenron. That could give us a chance to bring Gohan back," Piccolo suggested.

"That's not entirely true. The power of the Dragon Balls increases with my power, but we're talking about other dimensions, which may be governed by entities equal to the Kais in our universe. So, I need to improve my magic skills," Dende explained.

"Then let's do it!" Goku said.

"But I don't know if anyone can teach me magic. We created the Dragon Balls with the magic we knew, but we need more powerful magic," Dende replied.

"So there's nothing we can do?" Goku asked.

"There's still hope, Goku," said Future Trunks.

"We will try our best to bring Gohan back. It's the only thing I can do for what he did for me," said Future Trunks.

"Or we can ask King Kai. There might be someone in the Other World who can help," Goku suggested.

In the DC Universe

It had been two months since the Joker's death, and things were slowly returning to normal. The crime rate was rising again, and the League was busy with their patrols. Batman, in particular, was vigilant about Gohan, preparing to capture him. The League members were somewhat agreeing with his decision, but deep down, they knew Gohan wasn't evil. They also knew it was a waste to argue with Batman.

When Kara heard about Batman's intentions, she was furious, but she knew Gohan could protect himself and had no weaknesses. She warned him,

"I think you're smart enough to stay away from him if you value your life. If you do anything stupid, Gohan won't be merciful to you."

But Batman wasn't convinced. He kept formulating ways to stop Gohan if necessary, and since he couldn't go himself, he asked Kara.

"No way, I'm not doing it," Kara refused.

"But Kara, you both go to the same school," Superman tried to reason.

"And I attend school as Kara Kent, not Supergirl. More importantly, this isn't a League mission. He's just doing it to satisfy his ego," Kara said, pointing at Batman.

"Fine," Batman replied, frustrated.

Kara knew what Bruce was thinking. "Don't think about asking them. They both are also victims of your incompetency," Kara added.

"Do I need to remind you that you're talking to your superior, and I don't allow disrespect?" Batman retorted.

"Then at least try to act like a respectable man and stop using victims in your game," Kara said, before leaving.

Superman stayed silent through the ordeal.

"I think you're overexerting yourself, Bruce," Superman said before leaving as well.

Batman knew that both of them had left him a long time ago, especially after the events with the Joker. But he needed to try, so he called Barbara for help.

On Earth

It was Sunday, and Gohan had a lot of free time. He was walking around the city, unsure of what to do. He had completed his training, and ever since moving to Jeffrey's house, he had been eating well. In the orphanage, he had received only small amounts of food, and to avoid being a burden, he took on part-time jobs that paid him more than most, thanks to his abilities. He could do the work of several people in a fraction of the time.

As he walked through the streets, he noticed someone following him from a distance. The person kept tailing him even after Gohan changed paths. Suspicious, Gohan decided to confront the person. He slipped into an alley and waited. When the person entered, Gohan remained still. Suddenly, the person fell unconscious.

Gohan checked the person. He appeared to be around Gohan's age, or perhaps older. Gohan wondered why this person had been following him. He noticed an earpiece and took it, placing it in his own ear.

A voice spoke through the earpiece— a female voice Gohan hadn't heard before. He suspected the League was involved, but he decided to find out for himself. He decided to wake the person up.

The person slowly regained consciousness and realized he wasn't in the alley anymore. They were on top of a building.

"Can you tell me why you were following me?" Gohan asked.

The person tried to stay cool "I am not following you why do you think I am following you" asked the person and at the same time he is surprised he was caught.

Gohan's face became serious "do you think you can fool me or should I make you to speak" asked Gohan.

The person tried to communicate with his friend but he is missing his comm link "looking for this" asked Gohan showing the comm link.

"now tell me why are you following me did the league send you or that pathetic batman sent you" asked Gohan.

"I am not working with the league," said the person.

"so you are batman's assistant" asked Gohan.

"don't mention his name" said the indignation in his voice.

Gohan was surprised be hearing this "then what do you want?" asked Gohan.

"we just want to talk to you" said the person.

"who are 'we' "? asked Gohan.

"If you come with me, I will explain," said the person.

Gohan agreed since there nothing can harm or hurt him so he agreed to go.

"Okay before we go what is your name?" asked Gohan.

"Jason Todd" said Jason.

"what's yours?" asked Jason.

"don't tell me you followed me for three hours without knowing my name" asked Gohan.

"Okay let's go," said Jason.

After an hour Gohan and Jason arrived to a place, he entered a building and they were met by a red head girl on wheel chair.

they went to a room and sat on sofa.

"What do you want to talk with me?" asked Gohan.

"I don't know how It sound but thanks for killing joker" said the red head girl.

Gohan was surprised by hearing but he remained silent.

"I know you are surprised but trust us we mean you no harm or we have any ill intentions," said Jason.

"We know about you Gohan how you defeated the league and beat batman to a pulp," said Jason.

Gohan sighed "so there is no point in hiding so now tell me what business do you have with me?" asked Gohan.

"We both used to work with batman," said Jason.

Hearing batman's name made Gohan furious but the word 'used to' made him stop "what do you mean by used to?" asked Gohan.

"Sorry I didn't introduce myself my name is Barbara formerly known as batgirl initially I was able to walk and do all my things but because of joker now I am in this situation," said Barbara.

"What do you mean by joker did this to you?" asked Gohan.

Then Barbara explained how she met batman her missions with him and other bat family and finally how joker did this to her.

"so, joker did this to you to made batman mad but he didn't do anything" asked Gohan.

She nodded her head, now Gohan was furious "I thought he is a jerk and bastard but I didn't expected him a .." I don't know what word to use said gohan.

"yes, he always says if he kill joker then he will do it the same to all the criminals and according to him he is preventing himself to go in a dark path" said Barbara.

"dark path my * he is a selfish jerk I say he is a weak person mentally" said Gohan.

"Jason earlier you told you both are victims of joker what happened to you" asked Gohan.

Then Jason told Gohan what happened.

"But tell me if you are dead then how are you alive" asked Gohan.

"In our world we had Lazarus pit batman used that to resurrect me," said Jason.

This surprised Gohan he didn't expected such things are possible in this world since in his world death is normal thing people can be wished back to life the thought bringing back to life made him thing what's happening in his world, he hoped they would forget about him and move with their life's but he still missed them.

"And batman didn't do anything to joker when you are dead" asked Gohan.

"Yes I was angry at him and later joker made Barbara like this even then he didn't do anything that made me to cutoff ties with him" said Jason.

Gohan remained silent by hearing it.

"so, tell me Gohan how did batman find you or know about you?" asked Barbara.

Then Gohan told what happened when Toy master attacked his school.

"So kara gave information about you" asked Barbara.

Gohan nodded.

"Now let me guess they invited you to join league" asked Jason.

"No, when kara asked me if I am in league, I told her I don't have time for that crap who plays with people's lives which she told the league then our first meeting happened," said Gohan.

"it's very funny how your first confrontation with league went," said Barbara.

"Earlier I had respect for some of its members after meeting them I told them they are not competent for this job it made them furious," said Gohan.

"What made you think like that" asked Barbara wanting to know Gohan's reasoning.

"Tell me Barbara did the crime rate decreased since the league was formed" asked Gohan.

"It increased," said Barbara.

"Then answer me what will the league do to the criminals they capture" asked Gohan.

"They hand over them to authorities" answered Jason.

"And again, the same criminals escape and cause more destruction and damage and they bring new criminals when they return thus the crime rate increases and more recurring deaths" reasoned Gohan.

"I agree with you Gohan," said Jason.

"Do you know what they told when I told them the same thing, everybody deserved a second chance it made me furious I have seen what will happen if a second chance is given to people like the criminals and I have seen more worse than them," said Gohan.

"Even it didn't anger me they are outright rejecting their mistake this made me mad" said gohan.

"Okay then what made you to kill joker" asked Barbara.

Then Gohan told what happened with the orphanage.

Now both Barbara and Jason were furious about what happened to those kids.

"Do you know joker asked mercy before I killed him," said Gohan.

Now they both were surprised "we didn't expect that" they both said.

"Believe me, even I didn't expect from him," said Gohan.

"Hey Gohan is it true you are stronger than the league" asked Barbara.

"What do you mean?" asked Gohan.

"We hacked batman's computer after joker was dead there is a folder with your name it said you had power to destroy a planet easily is it true" asked Barbara.

"yes I wast born with them to tell more precise my father told me I had a lot of potential and I trained to save my world since I was four" said Gohan.

"but how can you have power to destroy planets" asked Barbara.

"all the enemies we faced had power to destroy entire planets with ease and at their full power they can destroy an entire solar system" said Gohan.

They were surprised by that.

"can you also do that?" asked Barbara.

Gohan nodded his head " don't be afraid this is my home even I had powers I would rather had a peaceful life and become a scholar than to destroy the world"

"Batman named you as an omega level threat," said Barbara.

"What that does mean?" asked Gohan.

"Batman keeps files about everything he knew and he created contingencies for every member of the league which can neutralise the said person," said Barbara.

"By knowing him he is probably making a contingency to neutralise you," said Jason.

"to tell the truth it didn't surprised me I know from the minute I challenged them they will try their best to stop me and capture me but what they didn't know is I have no weakness like superman or any other league members so batman can try whatever he want even if he succeeded It won't stop me fully the only person that can stop me is a person stronger than me but from what I know there is none like me in earth" said Gohan.

"I know batman is a jerk but I didn't expect to make contingencies on league what will happen in the enemies of the league find them I know there are criminals that are smarter than league if they had them, they can use the plans to destroy the league entirely," said Gohan.

"We all know that so he stored them in a safe place but they won't stay hidden for a long time," said Barbara.

"As you said even if he can't find any weakness for you, he will try to hit you psychologically when you succumb to it, he will defeat you," said Jason.

"To be frank I don't care I really had no intentions to meet them again I want to live my life but if they bother me again, they will regret it and will learn how to respect others decision the hard way" said Gohan in a serious tone.

"But what is the reason you are telling me about batman's secret you worked with him earlier" asked Gohan.

"Yes, but there is no trust in the team he expects all of us to trust him and should be open with him but he doesn't do the same," said Barbara.

"And there is another reason yesterday batman called us he asked us if we can get close to you and get any information about you," said Jason.

Anger was visible on Gohan's face "so you met me because he asked you to do it," said Gohan.

"No Gohan, we told him the days are done working with him and to tell you truth we thought of meeting you before batman asked us so we hurried to tell what he is doing what we know is he asked kara do this but she outright rejected it and then he asked us we also rejected it so be care full we don't know whom he will send to spy on you," said Barbara.

"Okay thanks for telling me but don't worry only a few people knows about me if not for the event in the school all this façade wouldn't happen," said Gohan.

"Hey Gohan you had superpowers then why don't you help people by giving them assurance that same criminals won't come back" asked Jason.

"I am not a person who can give assurance to people and being strong and powerful is not everything," said Gohan.

"Well, I am leaving we have been here for nearly three hours I need to go and I have school to attend" said Gohan and left the place.

After going some distance Gohan decided to fly to avoid seeing he flew above the clouds and began to ponder why kara didn't helped batman form what he understand of her she admires the league ideals but this surprised him may be there is more to her so Gohan decided to ignore it and went his home which is Jeffery's place and rested for the day.
