Chapter 23
Operation Wedding Stall
I look at Ariel who was still sitting on the edge of the jetty, she still had tears in our eyes. Each of them dropping delicately on the ocean surface. She had her legs dangling off the edge. I reached out to touch one of her feet and gave her a gentle smile "Time to tell her" i say to myself. Her feet felt weird, they were covered in skin just like our upper bodies. I was expecting them to feel different like our tail fins. She sliently tries to smile at me.
I begin to open my mouth and we all began to hear a familiar sound "Is that squawking i hear?" asks Sebastian. "I hear it too!" says Flounder "Me three!" i answer, Ariel was looking around. The squawking got louder and louder, the louder it got the more familiar it sounded "Up there!" i yelled as i pointed up towards the sky "It's Scuttle!".
Scuttle was flying towards in a hurry looking like he was panicking. "Ariel! Ariel! Ariel!" he screams as he lands beside Ariel and Sebastian on the jetty. We all remained slient to listen to what he had to say and it appears that Scuttle has beat me to it "I was flying, i wa of course i was flying, an i...i saw that the watch, the witch was watchin a mirror and she was singin in with a stolen set o pipes!" Do you hear what i am tellin you? The prince is marryin the sea witch in disguise!".
We all looked at each other shocked. Ariel was shaking her head. I was equally shocked even though i had already known. Scuttle was slaming Sebastian up and down on the jetty "Are you sure about this?" the crab asks, "Have i ever been wrong? i mean when its important!" answers Scuttle "He's right guys!" i quickly answer back to all of them. Everyone then looks at me in shock horror.
"You knew Urchin?" Sebastian questions me "There is a lot to explain and really it wasn't hard to figure out but right now we need to act fast to stop that wedding!" i yell out to the crab, Flounder, Scuttle and Ariel "What are we gonna to do?" asks Flounder. Ariel now looking angry picks herself up and stands on her two feet. She stares at the dropping sun for a couple of seconds and looks at herself before diving into the water.
I immediately dove under to save her since humans are unable to breath under water. I grabbed her by her waist and push her upwards towards the surface. Ariel sees me and smiles before giving me a quick hug. I hug her back. She stuggles to him possibly because of her legs and the dress she was wearing. Sebastian seeing this clips some barrels that fall into the water for her to hang on to "Ariel, grab on to that! Urchin, Flounder, get her to that boat as fast as your fins can carry you!".
"I'll try!" says Flounder who placed himself within the ropes ready to pull her along as Ariel hands them to him. "Someone needs to alert the King!" i suggested "I've gotta get to the sea king. He must know about this!" says Sebastian out loud. He didn't obviously hear what i just said so i try again "Sebastian, i'm faster let me go to the sea king?". I then feel a gentle tap on my shoulder.
I look and see that it was Ariel smiling at me like it was a plea for help. "I think Ariel what's you to come with her Urchin!" says Sebastian, i smile back to her, i saw it in her eyes "Yeah, ok let's crash this wedding!" i tell her as i take hold of some more ropes and tie them around my waist. "Let's go!" cries Flounder "Hang on tight Ariel!" i yell to the princess who was hanging on to the otherside of the barrel. Using all our fin power Flounder and i begin to pull her towards the wedding ship.
"What, what about me? WHAT ABOUT ME?" i hear Scuttle shouting before Sebastian suggests that he finds a way to help stall the wedding. Scuttle flies above us and begins to squawk again. He was off to find some help. Meanwhile, Sebastian goes to find King Triton and Flounder and i are pulling Ariel along getting closer to the boat.
"Don't worry Ariel, ugh-we-we're gonna make it, we're almost there!" says Flounder, "He's right Ariel, just a little further! Hang on tight!" i answer. My waist was getting sore but i didn't care, i'm doing all this for Ariel. Suddenly, the ocean around as began to ripple revealing schools of fish and dolphins. We look up and see flocks of birds all heading towards the boat "Well done Scuttle!" i cry, "Finally Scuttle has actually done something right!" says Flounder.
Finally, we make it to the ship. Flounder and i were puffing and panting. Ariel grabs hold to the side of the ship and manages to climb up "You go Ariel!" i scream at her. Flounder and i watch on as she makes it to the top. Flounder un-hooks himself from the ropes of the barrel and I undo the rope from my waist, letting the barrels float completely free. The boat was anchored.
We hear shouting and commotion from up top. Birds were flying everywhere and dolphins were leaping out of the ocean spraying water "Wonder what's going on?" asks Flounder "I don't know, I sure wish we could see what's actually going on!" i tell Flounder. Flounder looks at me and then at my fins "You do realise we have fins right? How on earth would we get up there?" asks Flounder, "Well for me, using all my upper body strength of course!" i tell him. I didn't think about him!.
I grab on to the side of the ship where Ariel climbed from. Using all my upper body strength, i try and pull myself up. "OUUUUCCCHHH!" i cry and then i slip off falling back into the ocean. "Urchin? Are you alright?" asks Flounder who had dove underwater to check to see if i was alright. I felt my waist hurt and i look down to notice a red ring around it.
Flounder was shocked "Urchin! Your hurt!" he tells me "I think, its from pulling the barrel, i'll be fine!" i say to the little fish even though i felt i wasn't ok. I had just told him a lie. The pain was like a burning feeling and hurt when i would try to swim. Suddenly, we look up and the sky on the surface was turning dark "Ariel! The spell! Oh no!" i cry as i try and swim back up to the surface "Urchin, your clearly not ok!" Flounder yells towards me "What if we're or she is too late!" i yell back at him.
Suddenly, something splashes into the ocean nearby. Flounder and i look over towards it and notice that it was indeed Ursula. She had transformed back into her orginal self and in one of her hands was Ariel being hung on to by her wrist. Ariel has regained her tail, she didn't get to kiss the prince and now was property of the Sea Witch!. "Urchin! What do we do?" Flounder asks, "I hope Sebastian, has found King Triton, i have a feeling we are in for a big battle!" i answer him.
