Fairy Heroes Academia 20

Sports Festival Finale: Fairy Girls Fight!

"And now here we are, the semifinals!" Present Mic called out, "We have our final four!" The four students' faces flashed across the screen, and the audience roared enthusiastically.

Lucy and Todoroki made their way to the arena's stage as the presenter spoke, "The first match of the semifinals!"

This time Lucy didn't acknowledge the crowd, instead, she kept her gaze fixed on Todoroki. "Rumor has it, she's a Princess from a faraway land… Class 1-A's Lucy Heartfilia! Versus!"

"Her classmate, also from an impressive upbringing, the Ice Prince himself, Shoto Todoroki!" Neither teen reacted to Present Mic's introduction this time, being too focused on how they would go about this battle against each other.

Todoroki already knew that Lucy's Quirk wasn't something to scoff at. She had power, and she knew how to use it. Overwhelming her with ice could be a viable strategy… if she couldn't counter it.

Lucy couldn't get that match out of her head, or the words she overheard from Endeavor.

"It's my Shoto's duty to surpass All Might as the number one hero."

Lucy frowned, glancing at the expectant man, his fiery gaze leveled on his son.

"With my blood in your veins, you'll surpass me. You will live up to the reason I created you!"

Shaking her head clear, her gaze focused on the younger Todoroki. It made sense why Todoroki aims to be the best of the best, his declaration of war, his distant demeanor, and his skillset. His father had molded him into his image, but Izuku managed to drag the real Shoto out…

"Begin!"

Lucy wasn't going to waste this chance.

Todoroki slammed his right hand to the floor as he formed a glacier of ice around Lucy, enveloping her and obstructing the audience's view.

"Todoroki starts with a crazy ice blast!" Present Mic announced, "Miss Heartfilia is completely buried!"

"Is it possible we've already got a winner here?"

"Looks like Lucy got the same treatment as Kaminari." Jiro elbowed the electric teen, causing him to sputter.

"Not exactly." Izuku noticed, "The ice now was more controlled. He's being cautious."

Levy nodded. "He knows Lucy will be able to counter him."

From within the ice, a glow could be seen.

"Is that her?" Kirishima asked.

"I wonder which outfit she'll use! Comme c'est excitant!" Aoyama sparkled.

"I think it's pretty obvious." Bakugo sneered.

The crowd watched as the ice began shifting, melting back into water. Lucy, in her Aquarius Star Dress, could be seen twirling in the center, forming a whirlpool.

"She can do that?!" Mineta asked, absolutely terrified, yet kinda aroused at seeing Lucy in a bikini.

"You know that won't work on me, Todoroki!" She sent a wave of water toward the boy. He was quick to react, creating a wall of ice in front of him, causing the water to rush around him.

'This isn't as cold as Gray's ice…' Lucy thought as she shivered slightly from the cold air against her exposed skin.

The water pooled around their feet. Todoroki stomped to freeze it, but Lucy worked to keep the ice fluid. Todoroki skated forward on his ice, knowing Lucy could manipulate his ice, but not avoid his hands.

Todoroki's left foot connects with the floor as his right foot rises. Lucy saw her chance, just like Izuku! "Water Pillar!"

Todoroki's eyes widened as a pillar of water formed beneath him, sending him into the air.

"She has control of the battlefield with the ice he's created!" Izuku noticed, 'Nobody's noticed, but her magic is creating more water from the ice Todoroki supplied. That's incredible…'

Todoroki used his ice on the stream to slide down it, bring him back to the arena's level.

"And Todoroki surfs the ice back into the fight!" Present Mic cheered.

Todoroki circled Lucy with his ice as the girl calmly assessed the situation. Todoroki launched himself off the ice, stretching his left hand to Lucy, and the audience watched with anticipation.

"Use your left side. Do it, Shoto!" Endeavor smirked.

Lucy and Todoroki heard the hero's words and faltered as they continued their fight. Todoroki's grip loosened, and Lucy took the opportunity to kick Todoroki away from her. The boy caught himself in a crouch across from the blonde girl.

Todoroki's head tilted slightly toward his father.

"Hey!" Lucy called, regaining his attention, "This is between you and me." The water around their feet rippled as Lucy controlled it with her dress.

"Heartfilia's the type to use her Quirk effectively," Aizawa started. "She has a variety of outfits to fit her situation, but her real talent lies in how she's able to utilize them on her opponent by understanding them."

"No way!" Present Mic commented.

"Todoroki's doing well so far, but his attacks are too simple." Aizawa continued as Todoroki stood to his full height, "It almost seems like he lost his spark after the match with Midoriya."

Lucy frowned at the analysis, the water continuing to react to her magic.

"Shoto…"

Todoroki looked at her in shock, hearing his name leave her mouth, a vapor of ice escaping his mouth.

"I know what it's like to have a father who…" She paused slightly as she thought about her complicated relationship with her father, "Who only cares about the version of you they created in their head."

Todoroki found himself listening, his eyes locking with Lucy's.

"When my mom died, all I wanted was for my dad to notice me…" Todoroki gasped at this revelation. "All he saw was a girl he could use to further his power and wealth."

He could recognize the loneliness reflected at him through her brown eyes.

"How…" Todoroki finally spoke, "How did you get through it?"

Lucy smiled softly, "I found people who saw me for me…" A certain pink-haired dragonslayer and a fish-loving exceed popped into her mind. "I found a place that didn't just see me as Lucy Heartfilia. I was Lucy of Fairy Tail, and that means a lot to me."

She gazed at her right hand, the pink guild mark reminding her of how far she's come.

"Your… gang?" Todoroki quirked an eyebrow.

Lucy giggled, "Yes, them." She grinned at Todoroki, "They give me the strength to stand here now, to use my power to be a hero."

"Lucy…" Levy wept; she missed Fairy Tail as much as Lucy did. She still couldn't believe how peculiar this whole situation was. "Everyone would be so proud if they saw you now…"

"You okay, class rep?" Kirishima placed a hand on her shoulder.

Levy smiled, "Yeah, just feeling a little homesick."

The class nodded in understanding, though some didn't. Izuku was astounded to hear more about Lucy, he couldn't tear his eyes from the scene. Bakugo was pretty interested, too. Leaning forward to get a better look at how the water responded to Lucy. Momo was left wondering just how much they remembered; perhaps if she asked, they might be able to track down their home together…

And Tenya excused himself to take an important phone call from his mother…

Back with the fight, Lucy raised her hands, with the water moving to her will, "I see you, Shoto. To me, you're not just Endeavor's son…"

Shoto stood on guard as he anticipated her next move.

"You're my classmate." She said, sending the water toward him, "You're a rival." She joked as Shoto froze the water before it could strike him. "I hope you're… a friend."

Shoto was so confused; first Midoriya and now… her.

"Lucy…" He said under his breath, finally seeing her for the first time.

"And as your friend…" She said, putting her palm forward, "I'm gonna give you a little push. An enemy-turned-friend used this on me before…"

"Water Lock!"

Levy gasped, watching as Todoroki was put in a bubble of water floating on stage. His eyes widened as he realized his situation.

"Seriously?!" Kaminari gasped, "Can he breathe in there?!"

"No…?" Levy said uncertainly.

Everyone's head turned toward her. "I've never had it done to me! It knocked Lucy out the first time it was used on her, though."

"A friend did that?!" Shoji asked.

"Long story…" Levy sweatdropped.

"Looks like the tides have turned again!" Present Mic called out, "Can Todoroki come back from this?!"

"We're our own people Shoto!" Lucy called, knowing just how well he could hear. "I know one day you're gonna be a great hero! And you're going to do it your way, with your power!"

'I am so glad Juvia taught Aquarius this move. Them being friends paid off!' Lucy thought as she watched Shoto float. Shoto stared back at her, frost spreading across his skin…

"Shoto?" Lucy called, watching as the water sphere began to freeze over.

The ball completely froze solid and dropped to the ground, breaking the concrete. The audience was stunned silent, even Lucy was shocked, she knew this would be a possibility, but she really thought… that it would work.

She stepped forward to turn the ice into water so Shoto wouldn't be too badly frozen.

"If Todoroki is unable to battle, that makes Heartfilia the winner." Aizawa watched intently, the mic catching his comment.

Crack.

A single crack formed on the sphere, causing Lucy to step back.

Crack. Crack. Crackcrackcrackcrack!

SHATTER!

The cracks had splintered before bursting apart, an explosion of fire bursting from Shoto's left side, stronger than ever. The audience covered their faces as the flames erupted to protect themselves from the heat.

Lucy grinned, the heat not bothering her at all. Steam surrounded her and Shoto as his inferno died down.

"Lucy…" Shoto looked her in the eyes. "Thank you."

"Now you're all fired up." Lucy smiled.

The steam gathered in front of them for a moment, and it was all it took for Lucy to disappear from his view. He kept his guard up, knowing it would be harder for her now.

"Spica Lucy Punch!" Lucy shot out of the ground in her Virgo outfit. Shoto bent back, avoiding the uppercut, having seen it a couple of times now.

His fire made his ice easier to control, creating a chunk to knock her off balance. Lucy rolled, landing on her feet as her outfit changed once more.

"Star Dress: Gemini!" A two-tone blue and white skirt with a high collar appeared, and an upside down kite-shaped cleavage window, two tassels were along her collarbones, and finishing off the outfit was a plated belt upon her waist. She also had thigh-high boots and a kokoshnik upon her head, matching the dual colors.

"Now that's a fashion statement!" Present Mic commented.

"I don't think we've seen this one before!" Mina pointed as Izuku scribbled in his notebook.

"I've seen it before…" Levy was reminded of the training for this dress.

"I wonder what this one can do…" Izuku mumbled as he drew as fast as he could.

Lucy smirked as the half-and-half boy looked wary at this dress; she had been saving it for a reason.

"Solid Script…"

"Did she just say…" Jiro gasped.

"She couldn't, could she?" Kaminari gaped.

Levy wouldn't have believed it either if she hadn't seen it, but just as she opened her mouth to speak…

"WATER!" Lucy shot the word at Shoto. His flames evaporated the water before it could get too close.

"WHAT?!" A voice called from over the partition for the B Class.

"She can… copy Quirks?" Monoma glared at Lucy. "No wonder Class 1-A thinks they can just jump into battles all the time. They have a girl like that…"

"Calm down, Monoma, she's hardly even used that one." Kendo offered, "She has plenty of abilities to choose from anyways, so why would she want to copy powers?"

Monoma slightly twitched in offense. "She probably hasn't been using it because her copying ability is inferior to mine."

"Does she even know you can copy?" Tsunotori placed a finger to her chin in thought.

"Either way, I would appreciate you not talking about my friend like that, Monoma," Yui commented from next to Reiko, who nodded in agreement.

Levy turned her attention back to the battle, where Lucy used her Quirk with ease.

"My Quirk is a pretty good match for her." Levy noted, "Lucy loves writing as much as I love reading." Levy explained to her classmates. "This might give her an edge against Todoroki."

Lucy looked on in determination as Shoto's fire grew hotter. "Solid Script: FIRE!"

"FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!" Lucy created the fire but didn't send it to Shoto instead…

"WHOA! Heartfilia has created a wall of flames all around them! Now that's what I call fighting fire with fire!" Present Mic hollered, "What could she be thinking!"

'I'm used to being in fiery situations…' Lucy looked at the sweat forming on Shoto. 'He's not. Though, he has a natural affinity for it…'

The ice on Shoto's body began melting as his eyes widened, 'Her plan is to overheat me…'

He stomped his foot, creating a glacier of ice to counter the heat and simultaneously strike Lucy.

Lucy's dress switched to her Virgo form as she burrowed to the ground once more. Shoto already knew to expect a punch at any moment, so he kept his guard up, but the heat from Lucy's attack made it hard for him to focus.

What he wasn't expecting was to feel his body sinking. He tried to regain his footing, but it seemed like the ground became softer. He froze the floor beneath him and halted himself but noticed the arena's floor rippling.

Lucy rose out of it, her Aquarius form ready, "Aqua Metria!" The attack was hurled full force at Shoto. He made a wall of ice to counter it, and while the wall was strong, the attack was stronger and broke through it, sending him tumbling back, dousing his flames a bit.

He caught himself, flames erupting from his body. 'This battle has dragged on for too long, it's all or nothing…'

Forcing his flames to swell, he readied his power, stomping his right foot to regulate his body temperature with his ice.

Lucy noticed Shoto's newfound confidence, the determination igniting in his expression. She smiled slightly at him, proud that he was using his power.

"YES! DO IT SHOTOOOOO!" Endeavor yelled from the stands.

Lucy wanted to scream at him to shut up, but she knew she needed to force Shoto to continue his attack if she wanted to make progress with him. 'All or nothing…'

Lucy's body glowed as Shoto covered the arena in ice. The crowd was not registering to him, yet he thought he heard someone…

Lucy's brightness intensified as Shoto snapped back into focus. He simultaneously formed an avalanche as he forced his flames to heat up.

"Things are HEATING UP!" Present Mic called as everyone looked on amazed.

The glow faded from Lucy's body, and she was in an outfit never seen before… well, not exactly. She had a bikini set with a zigzag design and bulky armor around her limbs. A belt with Aquarius and Scorpio's symbols was tied around her waist, and a large gun shaped like Scorpio's tail appeared on her back. Her hair was up in pigtails, and Aquarius' sign was along Lucy's collarbone. If one looked closely they could see the crossed key symbols on the back of her left hand. "Star Dress Mix!"

The crowd looked on amazed, and even Levy was impressed, not knowing Lucy could do something like that. "Wow, Lu…"

Lucy could feel the power she now held; this form probably wouldn't hold long, but the magic was ready to burst from her. She readied her tail cannon as Shoto shot his hand forward to attack.

"Dual elemental power!" She manipulated the ice as sand shot out of her tail cannon. "Aqua Storm!"

Sand and water swirled around the arena, locking onto Shoto. The crowd covered their eyes at the sandstorm and intense heat. They heard a loud crash as a shockwave forced the attacks to expand outward, with the crowd shielding their faces as cold, wet sand flew at them.

"Who's left standing?!" As the smoke and dirt cleared, a figure could be seen doubled over, panting.

Midnight wiped the sand from her face and realized who had won.

"Todoroki is unable to battle!" Shoto laid on the floor at the edge of the arena, various tears in his uniform. "Heartfilia moves onto the final round!"

Lucy's PE uniform reappeared as she rose to a full stance, "I– I did it…" She looked at Shoto's fatigued form, as he laid there unable to move.

"You're… really strong, Lucy." Shoto smiled, "I better train my fire more before we face off again."

"I'm looking forward to it."

The medbots took Shoto off as the crowd cheered loudly for Lucy, the girl smiled and waved, feeling better than she had for a while.

"Now let's get this place ready for our next round!" Present Mic called, "It's sure to be a banger!"

. . .

"What was that?!" Levy excitedly shook Lucy as they stood in Recovery Girl's nurse's office, Todoroki was resting in the room next door.

"Star Dress Mix," Lucy started, "The ability to combine the powers of my outfits." She was bandaged up, half of her healing session done, "They tend to drain a lot of power from me, though…"

"That's incredible, Lu!" Levy smiled, "You've gotten so strong."

"I've gotten strong? You've gotten strong!" Lucy giggled.

Recovery Girl smiled. It seemed like just yesterday when these two girls were crying in the hospital, "You've both gotten stronger. I'm so proud. Look at how far you've made it."

The fairy girls smiled appreciatively at her. "We couldn't have done it without you," Lucy admitted.

"If we hadn't met you, who knows where we'd be," Levy added.

"You girls would've gotten by just fine." Chiyo said softly, "But I wouldn't trade meeting you two for anything." She held their hands, "You two feel like the grandchildren I never had."

"Granny…" They both teared up.

"Or like the sisters I never had," Chiyo laughed. "You girls make me feel young again." She joked, causing the two to laugh through their tears.

"Now, now." She said, wiping their tears away, "No time for crying, you two gotta prove I taught you right!" Recovery Girl nudged them.

Lucy smiled, "Yeah, we're going all the way!" She cheered.

Levy still looked slightly uncertain, "But… How will I beat Bakugo?" She asked.

Before the other two could respond, Levy spoke again, "I have ideas how to beat him, but…" She shook her head.

"He's so strong and determined…"

"And rude and arrogant…" Lucy rolled her eyes. "But I know what you mean."

Levy nodded. "He is those things, but there's no denying his skill." She remembered when they were trapped with Kirishima at USJ, his battle against Izuku, even when they were mixed up with that sludge villain…

"He's a fighter," Levy said simply.

"And you're a reader." Lucy elbowed her, "So read him like a book."

"Huh– Be serious!" Levy burst out laughing.

"I am serious! You have nothing to worry about." Lucy looked at her best friend in the eyes, "Now go get him."

. . .

Lucy sat with the rest of the class, with them all applauding her once she approached. "You guys are too much."

"That was incredible! Who knew you had such manly moves!" Kirishima grinned his sharp-toothed smile.

"Thanks!" She said, used to the manly comments from Elfman.

"Forget manly!" Kaminari smirked. "She's a monster!"

"She probably thinks she's all that, but she's not–!" Monoma's neck was chopped by Kendo. "Sorry." She dragged him away.

"Hiding anything else up your sleeve?" Mineta leered, trying to get a closer look at her.

Shoving him away without looking, she responded, "Guess you'll have to find out."

"Here we are, folks! The second to last match." Present Mic's voice rang out through the area. "Who will be the one to face off Lucy Heartfilia in the final round?!"

"Believe it or not, these two are top scorers for the exam!" Present Mic explained, "We have Katsuki Bakugo! Versus!"

Bakugo walked out his hands in his pockets, he wasn't interested in the crowd right now.

"Our lovely Miss Levy McGarden!" Present Mic called.

Levy met Bakugo's gaze as she made her way out.

"Oi. Class rep." Bakugo called, "Don't think I'm gonna go easy on you."

Levy stood firm, "Give me everything you've got."

Bakugo smirked, "Same to you. Use any trick you can, your wings, that fancy armor, aim to take me down, and I'll do the same to you."

"So you've been paying attention," Levy smirked right back at him. "So have I."

"You could cut the tension with a knife!" Present Mic pumped his fists, "Let's get ready to rumble!"

The crowd cheered, ready to see what these two could do.

"Begin!"

BOOM!

Bakugo launched himself at Levy.

"Solid Script: Shield!"

Bakugo crashed into the shield with his palms, "Knew it." BOOM!

Levy was pushed back a bit, "You don't go on the offensive often!" Bakugo commented readying his hands.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

"Dark Écriture: Wings!" She tried to escape Bakugo by flying.

Bakugo used his explosions to follow after her.

"Solid Script: Bullet!" Her magic formed the bullets speeding toward Bakugo. Using his explosions he evaded, though just barely.

He'd have to be careful up here.

"So this fight takes to the skies!" Present Mic called, "Look at those aerodynamics!"

"Solid Script: Fire!" "Solid Script: Storm!" "Solid Script: Thunder!"

Levy fired off spell after spell, Bakugo grit his teeth, using his explosions to avoid the fire, unfortunately, the wind from the storm blew him off course, causing him to be vulnerable to the lightning.

Bzzzt. Bakugo recovered aiming for Levy once more, the girl was ready for him. Aiming a well-placed kick she knocked him back toward the ground. She shot down following him, reeling her fist back she pounded it into his chest.

Craaaack. The concrete splintered slightly with the force Bakugo received from Levy's speed.

"Ugh…" Bakugo groaned, getting up, "Finally. A challenge."

"Mina wasn't the only one who paid close attention, you know." Levy revealed raising her fingers, "Solid Script: Water!"

The water doused Bakugo as he shook off the excessive drops. "So you figured it out, huh?" Bakugo said, his explosions being slightly difficult to form.

"That your sweat makes your explosions stronger." Levy smirked, "It's why you designed your gauntlets the way you did."

"Thats…" Bakugo was honestly impressed, "Right."

"Solid Script: Sword!" She rushed forward with her wings, slicing at Bakugo. The spiky-haired teen dodged each swipe at him, the slices becoming more frequent with each dodge.

Boom!

A less powerful explosion forced Levy back, "A little water won't stop me."

Boom! Boom! BOOM!

"It may take a moment, but I'll be back in no time, and don't think you'll catch me off guard again." Bakugo forced his explosion to work against the water, though he wouldn't admit to everyone how difficult it could be.

"Solid Script: Armor!" Levy's letter armor formed, causing Bakugo's grin to widen, "Ready to get serious?"

Boom! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Levy winced, but her armor absorbed the brunt of the blasts. "Solid Script: Drill!"

Bakugo crossed his arms in front of himself. He grunted as he felt the word against his skin, feeling the scratches form. The spell dissipated and Bakugo saw his chance again, dragging his hand along the floor he sent an explosion straight for Levy.

"Ahh!" She was tossed into the air but used her wings to catch herself. "Guess I'll have to step it up…"

She closed her eyes before opening them once again, "Dark Écriture: Destruction!"

"Aughh!" Bakugo screamed feeling the attack hit him. The cement around him was destroyed by the dark energy as well.

Bakugo gripped the floor as he got up, "My attack was so stupid! Even those girls with amnesia are making better choices than me… Damn it!" He had told Deku those words back on the first day of school…

He wasn't going to lose.

Using his blasts he spun, faster, and faster. He had to admit when he saw her do something similar he was impressed with how much speed she could accumulate when corkscrewing with her wings.

His eyes met hers with determination, knowing this attack would have to be enough. Levy didn't falter from where she floated. She blinked and when she opened her eyes, Bakugo saw something that almost made him hesitate.

Her eye was glowing the dark energy that her wings usually emitted, a rune-like symbol appearing…

'No time to worry about it, I gotta commit to this attack if I want to win.' Bakugo's hands gleamed brighter as he hurled toward Levy, they were brighter than they'd been this whole match.

"Dark Écriture:..."

"Howitzer Impact!"

Bakugo roared as he caused a wall of explosions to form.

"Reflect!"

Bakugo's eyes widened as he felt his own attack used against him. "AUUUGH!"

"Bakugo used speed and rotation with a huge blast to turn himself into a human missile!" Present Mic pointed, "Only to have his power used against him at the last moment! Who knew McGarden could do something like that?!"

Levy's body floated down, her wings disappearing as he feet touched the floor. She panted as she tried to still her heart. That took more magic than she expected, Bakugo really is powerful… She looked over to the spiky-haired teen who was laid out on the floor.

"And just like that McGarden moves on to the final round!" Midnight called, cracking her whip.

"Hey…" Levy called to Bakugo, "You did good out there. Maybe you could give me some pointers."

Bakugo shrugged looking away, "Whatever, you won. Great job…" He muttered. "As long as you used your full power, then I'm content."

Levy averted her gaze as well, there was actually one more thing she could've done…

"Wow, she deflected Kacchan's attack right back to him!" Izuku gasped, jotting down more notes, "I never even imagined it would be possible like that!"

"That really was something, I thought Bakugo was going to kill her…" Ochaco sweatdropped, leaning back in her seat.

"I'm sure they wouldn't have been allowed to take it that far." Yaomomo interjected, "Although I'm glad that Levy won, to be honest."

"Yeah! About time someone put Bakugo in his place!" Kaminari added, "But that just leaves one more thing…"

Kaminari fixed his gaze upon Lucy, "Looks like our top students are gonna have to face each other." He smirked, "Think you guys have what it takes to go head-to-head?"

Lucy rubbed the back of her head, "Actually, back home everyone got into fistfights pretty often…" She revealed to the interest of her classmates, "Levy and I hardly ever participated though."

She looked down at the arena where Levy was standing. The two girls made eye contact and exchanged confident smiles. "I think we'll be just fine."

. . .

After cleaning and fixing the battle area one more time, the crowd was on the edge of their seats. They hadn't known they could look forward to seeing two adolescents fight, but here they were.

"Welcome to the final battle of the U.A. High School Sports Festival! In just a moment we'll see which first years come out on top!" Present Mic enthusiastically shouted into the mic.

The holographic screen displayed still images of Lucy and Levy, with their full names.

Lucy Heartfilia Vs. Levy McGarden

"Yes, it all comes down to this, folks! The frontrunners of our competitions! The amnesiac beauties with powerful Quirks! The adoptive granddaughters of Recovery Girl!"

Lucy walked out, "From the hero course, Lucy Heartfilia. Versus!"

The crowd was absolutely wild, cheering their hearts out in anticipation.

"Her classmate and best friend, Levy McGarden!"

The audience continued with their cheers, but three individuals could be seen focusing with a keen eye. Izuku, Shoto, and Bakugo each had their expectant gazes locked on the girls.

"Just another fight at Fairy Tail, huh Lu?" Levy smiled.

Lucy returned her friend's smile with one of her own, "Let's give them a show, no holding back. Like a real Fairy Tail member." She purposefully didn't say wizard just in case anyone heard.

"Good luck, Levy."

"You too, Lucy."

"Now begin!"

Lucy took the initiative to move first. Rushing forward she threw the first punch. Levy crossed her arms to block it, but Lucy didn't let up.

"Lucy kick!" Lucy called out her infamous attack. Levy caught her by the foot, before flinging her away. Following up she flipped into the air, ready to strike Lucy with a kick of her own. Lucy rolled out of the way at the last second, sweeping her friend's legs.

Despite falling, Levy sprung back up, kicking Lucy in the face. Lucy rubbed her cheek, before grinning.

"Nice one, Levy." She reeled her fist back before punching Levy in the gut and kicking her away.

Levy's body bounced across the floor, causing Lucy to wince slightly, thinking she maybe overdid it. Levy got up, gathering herself she grinned. "You've gotten way fiercer!"

"Let's kick it up a notch!" Levy called out, "Solid Script: Bullet!"

The magic bullets shot toward Lucy, and the girl jumped to dodge them, left, right, oh no! She was hit.

"Ugh!" She grunted feeling Levy's magic. "Star Dress: Virgo!"

Lucy's outfit was replaced immediately, drilling into the ground she disappeared from Levy's field of vision. "Spica Lucy Punch!"

Levy was hit by the attack dead on, she flipped and landed in a crouch, only for Lucy to repeat the attack, but this time with a twist. "Spica Lock!"

Levy was trapped in the concrete from Lucy's attack.

"Will McGarden be able to break free?" Present Mic asked the audience.

"Dark Écriture: Destruction!" A dark energy formed cracks in the earth sphere. "Dark Écriture: Wings!" Levy's wings spread out as she flew higher into the air.

Lucy peeked out from the ground. Seeing Levy high up in the air, she realized she'd have to change her tactics.

'I could use Gemini to copy her magic and make wings of my own.' Lucy considered the idea, 'But she'd have the advantage with how much practice she's put into flying.'

"Star Dress: Sagittarius!" Lucy's clothes changed once more as her bow materialized in her hands. Levy noticed this, realizing what was coming. "Solid Script: Bullet!"

"Star Shot!" Lucy fired her arrow, and it multiplied to counter Levy's bullets.

"Check out those fireworks folks!" Present Mic called.

"Star Shot!"

"Dark Écriture: Reflect!" The arrows went right back to Lucy, who gasped as she dove out of the way. "Solid Script: Blizzard!"

Orbs of ice flew from the attack, freezing Lucy completely solid in a hunk of ice.

"Now that's what I call giving the cold shoulder!"

A light formed from within the ice.

Crack…

Crack!

CRACK!

SHATTER!

Lucy wearing her Taurus outfit was prepared to shift the battle again. Using her superior strength, she jumped high, catching Levy off guard she grabbed the shorter girl by the ankle and hurled her toward the concrete. The concrete fractured from the impact, and Lucy's body pounded down.

Levy twisted away, causing Lucy's fist to slam into the ground, creating a shockwave that stunned the arena. "Solid Script: Sword!" Levy's blade formed along her leg, as she flew toward Lucy.

"Star Dress: Cancer!"

Clang!

Lucy's stopped the 'SWORD' with her left blade. Using her right blade she knocked Levy away. "Solid Script: Sword!" Creating a second sword along her leg she engaged with Lucy again.

Swish!

Swish!

Clang!

Clash!

"Check them out! Is there nothing they can't do?!" Present Mic's words were met with gleeful enthusiasm, as the audience pulled out their phones to record.

"He can say that again, look at them go!" Kaminari pointed.

"How manly!" Kirishima cried.

"I don't know about manly, but they sure are impressive, ribbit." Tsu croaked.

"Their other fights weren't like this," Yaomomo observed.

Sero nodded, "I know what you mean, if Levy attacked me like that I would've been toast sooner!"

"And Lucy's using way more outfits than she usually has to," Mina added, having been impressed by the blonde ever since she saved her in the mock battles.

"If I had to guess, they've been going slightly easy on everyone else, and now they're finally able to let loose," Izuku commented from his seat, gaining Bakugo and Todoroki's attention.

"Explain nerd," Bakugo demanded.

"Oh! Kacchan!" Izuku wasn't expecting that, "I didn't mean anything by it… I just mean…"

'I can't say that their holding back with their magic… How do I explain this? Great job Izuku…' He chastised himself.

"Their Quirks are so versatile, we've established that already." Izuku started.

"Well yeah, someone says it like every two seconds." Mineta rolled his eyes.

"Well, er– Yes, but…" Izuku continued, "Usually when they fight others, they have a way to counter. Like with Tokoyami and using light against him."

Tokoyami nodded in understanding, "You're saying that their Quirks have been well suited for their opponents so they haven't had to use their full power… But since they're fighting each other they're able to push themselves."

"Yes, exactly!" Izuku sighed in relief, thankful someone saw his line of reasoning.

"Are you implying that she had to hold back against me?!" Bakugo growled, glaring at Deku.

"Hey!" Ochaco pointed, "Leave him alone! He's just voicing his opinion!" She defended, "Besides, it's not like he's wrong. This is the hardest I've seen them fight this whole festival."

"Ochaco…" Izuku whispered in astonishment, not many people stood up to Bakugo… especially for him. He smiled at the girl, who was watching the match with shining eyes.

"By the way, what happened to Tenya? Is he still on the phone?" Yaomomo asked, Izuku shrugged.

"He's been gone for a while, I hope everything is okay…" he replied.

CLASH!

Lucy's sword was knocked away, she frowned knowing that she'd have to switch her outfit soon. With one last slash, she shattered Levy's 'SWORD,' leaving one left.

Levy dispelled her other 'SWORD,' as Lucy's outfit began to glow again. "Star Dress: Leo!"

Levy closed her eyes, before opening it and revealing the familiar dark energy.

'Just like Freed's eye…' Lucy silently noted to herself, knowing she had to be careful.

"Lucky us! A battle between light and darkness! Who will come out on top!"

The audience counted themselves lucky to bask in the girls' glory. The light enveloping Lucy only highlighted her beauty, with the sleek dress she wore giving an air of refined sophistication. While Levy's aura was dark and mysterious, the wings stretching along her back were as beautiful as she.

"Should we end this Lu?" Levy called her body rising.

"One final attack?" Lucy asked her floating friend.

"One final attack," Levy confirmed.

"Looks like things are heating up folks! They're looking serious now wouldn't you agree?!" Present Mic asked, but for once the crowd was silent as they watched.

"Solid Script: FOG!" The fog expanded from the word, covering the entire arena to the audience's confusion.

"Huh?" Someone called out.

"I can't see a thing!"

"What's going on?!"

"What's that?" Jiro squinted, seeing a bright light form from deep within the fog, and above there was a darkness emitting from the upper half. "It must be them..." She stated the obvious.

Izuku's eyes were glued to the scene, 'So this is what magic can do…'

Bakugo's eyebrows furrowed, 'There's no way she was holding back against me… Was there?'

Todoroki's eye glinted with interest, 'I knew they were capable, but I never expected this.'

"Star Dress Mix: Leo x Virgo!"

"Dark Écriture: Absolute Shadow!"

Everyone was silent, wishing that the fog wasn't there to obscure their view. No one dared say anything, instead choosing to bask in the moment. Even All Might was curious to know what the girls would do next.

Recovery Girl watched the fight with a grin on her face, 'These girls are gonna be the death of me.' Softly shaking her head, she knew she should get the beds ready for when she had to heal the girls.

Loke and Capricorn watched on in adoration, their respect rising immensely for their master, their friend. They had already been impressed with the girl, but she always found ways to exceed their expectations. Levy was impressive in her own right as well, Crux kept boasting how he helped her find her "true potential," whatever that meant.

Levy's wings spread out prominently, before they flapped the fog away, clearing it instantaneously. Shocked gasps rang out when they saw the two girls.

Levy's body was covered in dark armor. The black, shaped breast plate covered her torso, with her pauldrons sharp and pointy. Her gauntlets gave a fierce claw-like appearance, while her helmet matched the aesthetic of a demon-like face displayed, horns crowning her head. Her blue hair fell loosely around her. Her armored legs were covered by her PE uniform pants, but the power emitting from her was potent.

Bakugo gritted his teeth looking at Levy's floating figure, he was livid. She had held back this much power?! He… He wouldn't have been able to counter it at his current level… "Shit." He cursed under his breath, staring intensely at Levy.

Todoroki meanwhile couldn't help but stare…

Lucy wore an elegant frilled dress, combining aspects of the Leo and Virgo forms. Jewels adorned on different parts of the dress. Detached sleeves sit on the middle of Lucy's upper arms, they were short, puffed, and secured with dark laces. The lower half was black with a white underside, with a slit up the middle where an apron is tied around her waist. She received a beautiful pair of earrings, with a matching necklace, and a headpiece with dark ribbons tied on both sides. Three pairs of wings manifested behind her, completing her look.

"Oh my, she's beautiful!" Shiozaki clasped her hands together, as she gazed at Lucy. "Who would've known she had an outfit like that!"

Todoroki found himself agreeing with her statement, this was way different than the outfit she attacked him with… He blushes slightly remembering the bikini she had been wearing… How had he missed it before?

Izuku's notes were on overdrive, he didn't risk looking away from the fight, not wanting to miss a second. His notes may get a little sloppy, but he'd be able to revise them later. 'They're amazing…'

Levy held her hands up, summoning the power she needed. She had watched Freed use this form against Rustyrose back on Tenrou, but to experience it was… scary, overwhelming. With powers similar to that of a demon at her fingertips, she had so much more respect for Mira. She had only enough power for one big attack, and she knew Lucy wouldn't make it easy for her.

"Electric…" The lighting formed around her hands, as she gathered more magic to her body, feeling Lucy doing the same.

Lucy clenched her fists and raised her arms in the air, crossing them. She began to chant, "O the Light of Regulus. O the Shine of Spica…"

"Shockwave!"

"Lion Maiden!"

"My, isn't this interesting…" A barefoot young lady mused, her green eyes fixed upon the girls, blonde hair swishing from the power.

Levy's demonic form zipped over to Lucy at an incredible speed, she thrust the lightning forward hoping to make it in time… But Lucy's attack raised from the ground in pillars of light at just the right moment. The audience was mesmerized by the golden light, watching as it spread throughout the arena.

"AUUGH!" Levy was caught up in the attack, feeling Lucy's raw power for herself. She smiled as she felt herself dropping from the air…

Lucy caught Levy in her arms, looking over the girl, "Did I overdo it?!" She asked looking over Levy's body.

Levy chuckled from behind her helmet. She let her transformation fall, "You did amazing, Lu… That last attack really got me. You win."

Lucy dispelled her own magic, letting her PE uniform return. Hugging her friend close to her she cried tears of happiness.

"McGarden is unable to continue fighting!" Midnight announced, "Heartfilia is the winner!"

Everyone cheered louder than ever before, in a deafening uproar of delight and satisfaction, grateful to have witnessed that battle. They watched as the holographic screen showed Lucy's winking figure, with her name listed off.

Lucy Heartfilia

"And with that incredible display, the final match is officially over!" Honestly, he was so impressed with these girl's power that he forgot to speak for a moment, "The first-year champion of the U.A. Sports Festival…"

The footage of the holographic screen zoomed in to show Lucy's tired, but smiling face…

. . .

Lucy's tired, but smiling face could be seen playing on a TV…

"Ugh, did you see that?" Minerva sneered as she watched the TV. "They're utterly disgusting…" She rolled her eyes as she looked upon her prisoner.

"Stop making that face." She slapped the other woman to the ground, "You don't want to end up like your friend, do you?" Minerva mocked.

The prisoner's eyes widened, not liking what she heard, she muffled against the duct tape on her mouth.

"Oh him?" She said, "I just cut off his tongue… but then I realized." She gave a manic grin, "Why leave loose ends? He's gone now."

The prisoner froze, not believing what she heard.

"Yes. I killed him."

The woman's eyes watered, her cries stifled by the tape. Despite her grief, she struggled against her binds. If only they hadn't been canceling out her magic, then maybe she could…

Minerva kicked her out of her thoughts.

"Don't be getting any ideas." Minerva snarled, "You can't do any magic as long as you have your restraints." She smirked.

Kurogiri looked on in confusion, "I thought you wanted to keep her unharmed to get back at those fairies?"

Minerva faced the man, flicking her hair over her shoulder, "I need her alive for now, but I never said I wouldn't harm her." She replied, causing the woman's eyes to tear up more.

Minerva's threatening figure towered above her prisoner, "I'll take very good care of her until the time is right." She cackled as she watched the woman's face become one full of fear, "Then who cares what happens to her!"

. . .

Fireworks shot up into the air as the first-years all gathered once more on the ground level of the facility. Midnight was the designated speaker, "The first-year students have completed all of the events for the U.A. Sports Festival."

Midnight posed with a happy smile, "Now it's time to relax and enjoy the awards ceremony."

The crowd cheered as more fireworks exploded and the pyrotechnics fired off sparks all around the arena. Smoke formed and confetti fired as three large podiums ascended.

In the first place, Lucy reveled in the attention she received, waving and smiling at everyone. Levy stood on the second-place podium, grinning satisfied, but with less enthusiasm as she eyed third place. Todoroki stood passive thinking deeply about the fights, and right next to him Bakugo glared at Levy with a fierce intensity that no one understood.

"Geez, what's with the face?" Kirishima asked himself.

"He must be furious that Levy didn't use that form on him," Tokoyami commented.

Cameras flashed as photographers took pictures of the four students, loving the fact that they had so many pictures to work with this year.

"So Iida had to leave?" Tsu asked Midoriya.

"Yeah," He nodded. "He said he had to leave."

"A villain got my older brother." Tenya had told him. He was concerned, but Tenya hadn't known much yet.

"Ingenium is an unmatched commander who honors the hero code. As the second oldest Iida son, I strive to be just like him." Tenya held his brother in such high regard…

'Ingenium, please be all right.' Izuku closed his eyes, 'For Tenya's sake. You have to be!'

"Now, let's break out the hardware!" Midnight called out, "Of course, there's only one person worthy of distributing the awards."

A familiar deep laughter bellowed from the crowd, "HA HA HA HA HAA!"

Audience members' eyes sparked in recognition of that famous laugh, as they began looking around to see their hero.

"Citizens!" All Might flipped off the roof into the open stadium, to everyone's delight.

"I am here with the medals!" "The number one hero!"

All Might and Midnight spoke over each other, causing everyone to stare blankly at the scene.

"Ruined that, didn't I?" Midnight apologized to All Might.

"Tch." All Might trembled, his entrance ruined. He still kept his signature smile nonetheless.

"So now that you're here All Might, why don't you start the presentation?" Midnight moved right along, as the crowd regained their excitement.

"Young Todoroki. Congratulations!" He placed the bronze medal around the young man's neck. "You overcame an internal struggle and used your left side. That took a great amount of strength."

"Midoriya opened my eyes during our match, and in my moment of doubt…" He glanced at the blonde on the highest podium, "Lucy helped me find the strength to continue my resolve…"

"I want to be the kind of hero you are, but my path isn't as clear as I thought it was." Shoto admitted, "I have a lot to think about. And I still need to settle things with someone. Very soon." He looked at his hero.

"At least now I know I won't be alone." He remembered Lucy's words, if he was lucky enough, his class could be his Fairy Tail…

All Might turned his mic off, "I'm glad to hear that." All Might hugged him, with the boy stiffly standing, "I won't ask for details, but trust yourself. I'm sure you'll work things out." He patted him on the back.

"Right." Todoroki didn't return the hug, but he accepted the words gratefully.

"Young Bakugo. Congratulations!" He wanted to place the medal around his head, but Bakugo just snatched it away angrily.

"What's the point of placing if I couldn't prove I was the best." Bakugo snapped, "I wasn't even worth someone's full strength." He glared angrily at the floor, "How am I supposed to accept this when I wasn't taken seriously?!"

Levy flinched at the words, knowing she should've done more than reflect his attack back at him, but she wanted to conserve her power…

"You always have your eyes focused on the top spot." All Might told him, "You don't settle for anything but someone's very best. That's a commendable trait to have." All Might complimented, though the spiky-haired teen just frowned.

"Understanding others could be the key to understanding yourself." All Might informed, hugging him. "You are strong Bakugo, I'm sure she had her reasons."

Bakugo scowled, but allowed the hug to happen, holding his medal limply in his hands.

Members of the crowd were put off by his face and attitude but didn't let it get to them too much. They simply settled to focus on the other competitors.

All Might walked up to levy with a silver medal. "Young McGarden. Congratulations!" He placed the medal around her neck. "I knew you could do it!"

She bowed her head accepting the medal, looking at him. "Do you think I should've gone all out against Bakugo?"

All Might went in for a hug, and the smaller girl happily returned it as he whispered in her ear, "I think you could've… But there's a reason you didn't."

Levy blushed, avoiding his gaze as he patted her back, "Your Quirk is a special one Levy, I know you'll make great decisions with it!" He pulled away and she grinned at him, feeling better albeit a little embarrassed.

"Thanks, All Might."

All Might moved on to the final podium. "Lucy Heartfilia!" He held out the medal, "It is my honor to bestow upon you, this golden medal! Congratulations!"

She gracefully accepted it, the joy obvious with the beaming grin she held on her face. "Thanks All Might!"

He hugged the girl, "My pleasure! You performed admirably!" He then lowered his voice, turning his mic off, "It's a shame you weren't able to fight to your full potential."

Lucy could see Loke and Capricorn cheering for her from the crowd, "Don't worry, my Spirits are always with me." She felt warm, glad that she had such loyal friends, even if they could blow her cover.

"There will be a day when you're able to freely fight with them at your side." He looked her in the eyes as he pulled away, "I promise."

Lucy felt her heart swell, as she smiled broadly at All Might.

"Here they are!" All Might gestured to the podiums, "The winners of this year's Sports Festival!"

He turned to the remaining students, "But listen closely. Any of you first years could have ended up standing on these podiums. Think about what you've done today."

The students all listened to the number one hero speak, hanging on every word, "You've challenged each other, learned, and climbed even closer toward your goals of being pros."

. . .

Not just the students were listening as Shigaraki's red eye lazily watched his screen, "I think the next generation of heroes is proving to be our most promising one yet!"

. . .

"So I have one more thing to say." All Might pointed a finger up in the air. "I want to hear everyone yell it with me."

"You know what it is!"

"PLUS ULTRA!" "Thank you, for your hard work!"

All Might and the audience spoke over each other, with it registering a moment later.

"WHAT?! THAT WAS THE PERFECT TIME TO SAY "PLUS ULTRA," ALL MIGHT!" The audience collectively said.

"Well, yeah, I guess, but everyone did such a good job!" All Might nervously and hastily defended himself.

. . .

Dear Mom,

You'll never believe it! I won the Sports Festival! It was a little weird having to compete against my friends, but they were all so tough. They helped me understand myself even more than I already did. And I got to see them, actually, see them for who they are. It feels a lot like Fairy Tail… I miss it so much, but is it awful of me to enjoy what I have here? All these people we've met, Granny Chiyo, Izuku, All Might, Tenya, Uraraka, Yaomomo… Shoto. I told him a bit about Dad, about how bad he could be… I know he changed, but when you left… he was so different. Shoto, he feels so alone, the look in his eyes… I don't want that to happen again. We were given two days off from school to recuperate, and Shoto invited me to visit his mother for support. And I'm happy to help. Speaking of troubled classmates… Tenya's been down lately, his brother had run in with a villain, and… Tenya's just going through a lot right now, all I can do is be there for him, but he's closing himself off. We'll be here when he's ready, but at the moment he's just grieving the loss of his hero. He's alive but hurt. Ingenium always fought for the greater good, I wonder if I'll be as good a hero as he was… Only time will tell what'll happen, but I'm glad I have people here to rely on. I gotta get ready to meet Shoto at his house, I'll write to you soon, Mom.

Love, Lucy.

PS: An old friend showed up out of nowhere! I wish I could explain more, but I promised Shoto I would be there soon, and he needs this!

Another Lucy letter to end it off. And so the Sports Festival is finished! These last fights were interesting to think of, hopeful they were entertaining and made sense.

OH HO HOOO, the visitor! She showed up to watch the battle, and perhaps it's obvious who it is. I'll be able to explain more in the next chapter, honestly, she doesn't have that big of a role, but I need to plant the seeds for my future ideas with this story.

Minerva and her prisoner, still a secret. And yes Minerva did go and actually finish the job, I mean I thought about her just getting rid of his hands, but that just seemed overkill, underkill? The point is, he's gone and not gonna come back.

Also, Lucy, I think at this point has a pretty high resistance to flame, like when she was set on fire with Mr. Cursey. Or like when Natsu melted the arena after the time skip and her clothes melted but she showed no problems with the heat. Even Gray could withstand Fukuro's fire dragonslayer flames that he got from Natsu during the Tower of Heaven. Even so, I still made her a bit wary of the flames.

She used her Star Dress Mix Aquarius x Scorpio for him cause honestly sand is a good counter for fire in general. And she would have some control over the ice with her magic, so I figured it made sense enough to counter Todoroki.

Also, was anyone expecting them to connect like that? Cause like, I can see it tbh.

Levy not using the Absolute Shadow form against Bakugo was for obvious reasons, although I did struggle with that choice. I think it would work better narratively if she didn't use it against him, giving him a reason to be upset during the ceremony.

I was saving their transformations for this point in particular. Lucy and Levy recognize their classmates' strengths, but I feel like this level of power would be too much for the others.

Lucy was able to take out the Strauss Siblings with her Star Dress Mix, so taking out Levy even while she powered up herself, isn't far-fetched. And Levy using that transformation, oh how I've been waiting to use it, and I can't wait to keep using their magic. Even with the magic boost I still think currently they wouldn't be able to keep it up for long, hence why they were only used to end the battle.

The fight scenes as I said before can be pretty difficult to write, but I think I made these ones work. And people have gotten their character development, but there's only room to grow, cause I'm not out of tricks just yet.

I guess the last thing I'll mention is that the pairings were decided long ago and I think are pretty obvious now. Lucy/Todoroki, Levy/Bakugo, and Izuku/Ochaco, I just feel like these ones will work the best with the story. Sorry if anyone is disappointed, but this has been set in stone for literally years.

I'm still considering the other pairings I want in the story, but even then romance isn't my main focus here, that's just for fun. My main focus is on character development and the narrative aspects, but it doesn't hurt to have some romance.

Unlike both shows though, I actually want to make a realistic buildup to it. Cause Natsu and Lucy should've been together years ago. And Izuku and Ochaco were just poorly handled on Izuku's side, I know he wouldn't have had romance on his mind, but wow, WOW. Ok, I'm on a tangent now.

So next chapter! We'll be going onto the next arc now that the Sports Festival is over. Pretty soon the plot is really going to pick up, I'll be able to expand more on how I want things to work, but first, we gotta get through some angsty Tenya!

Let me know what you all think! I hope you all enjoyed this! I'll take constructive criticism, but remember to keep it civil! Remember everyone this is all for fun and entertainment!
