"The 'gate's drawing 10x more power than normal." Carter informed General Hammond. "That thing Colonel O'Neill built is a power booster, with an incredible capacity given how much smaller it is then our generators."
"Where could he want to go that needs that much power?" Hammond asked as Sargeant Harriman announced that chevron 5 was locked.
"The other side of the galaxy?" Xander muttered, adjusting the vest General Hammond had insisted he wear for the mission, Cordelia was nervously fussing with it herself.
"We do things together, Doofus." She muttered. "You always hated how Giles used to insist that Buffy was supposed to work alone. We're Scoobies, we don't work alone."
"If I screw up and need rescuing, I know you'll come in after me, if only so you can chew me out for being an idiot."
"Don't think I won't!" He smiled and kissed her. "It's bad enough you're a demon magnet, what if you're an alien magnet too? I can't take you anywhere without you getting hit on!"
O'Neill muttered something that had Daniel doing a double take. "I am not!" He yelped. Silence and everyone carefully looking elsewhere as they understood O'Neill had called attention to Daniel's unconscious habit of collecting alien girlfriends.
"You were married for half a day before you knew you were married." Carter murmured. "Alien Princess that purposely addicted you to the sarcaphagus in order to keep you."
"Stop." Daniel grumbled. "Please."
"Preying mantis demon pretending to be a teacher." Cordelia started listing Xander's as well. "Life sucking mummy girl. Vampires."
"They get it." Xander muttered, as Sargeant Harriman called out "Chevron 7...is locked? It's dialing again!"
"An eight symbol address?!" Carter exclaimed, examining the dialing computer. "That's not the other side of the galaxy, that's an entirely different galaxy! The eighth chevron is adding an additional distance calculation."
"Wow." Xander murmured. "Where no Scooby has gone before." He followed O'Neill down to the gateroom and glanced back at Cordelia before following O'Neill through the event horizon.
"I hope this is the right thing to do." General Hammond said softly. "But it seems to be the only available option."
"Xander could portal back home." Cordelia suggested. "Maybe, I don't know if his portals could reach from another galaxy, this is as new for us, as it is you. But he better damn well come back to me or I'll remind him just why my chosen title was Bitch Queen." Cordelia stated determinedly. "Not that he ever cared, only person in the entire school who never had a problem standing up to me."
O'Neill and Xander stepped out of the other side of the wormhole. "Holy...Roswell Greys are real!"
"We are the Asgard."
"Oh, wow. That would come as a surprise to Thor." Xander mumbled as O'Neill said something to the litte greys he didn't understand. "Sure hope you guys can help him and it really is neat to meet you. I'm Alexander Harris, Guardian of the Sanctum Sanctorum and member of the Scoobies. He's Colonel Jack O'Neill, United States Air Force, Earth and it's really nice to meet you."
One of the little grey fellows held something up to O'Neill's face and light shone on him, he slumped into unconsciousness. "Hope that means you're helping him and not taking him prisoner."
"We will assist him." One of the grey guys told him. "Humans have come farther than we expected, even one generation ago, we believe none would have been capable of utilizing a repository to even a small degree. And you are more than you appear as well."
"I do Magic, if that's what you mean. Harvest energy from other dimensions to overwrite the laws of physics as my friend, Willow, would put it."
"This was long thought to be an abandoned discipline on Earth."
"Yeah, well, I'm from a different Earth in another reality. We came to this one while exploring and are making friends. Hope that includes you guys."
"Perhaps, in time. You are still young."
"That's what the Nox told them, before we came to this reality. We're growing up, though, we'll get there eventually."
"I do not doubt that."
"So cool." Xander was working really hard on not fanboying, but hey, he was a scifi geek and these were Roswell Greys. Wait, Roswell happened in his reality too. Oh boy, Giles' head was going to spin like a top when he found out.
It took a couple of hours for them to finish removing the downloaded information from O'Neill's head and Xander happily spent it chatting with the little grey who'd first approached him before they brought O'Neill back out.
"Hope there wasn't any probing going on." Xander mumbled. "Really don't think he'll appreciate it."
"His mind will not retain a memory of us." The little grey told him. "But we successfully removed all the knowledge and healed the damage."
"Will he still remember how to do Magic?" Xander asked.
"Possibly, as that involves more than just knowledge."
"I know." Xander nodded. "Thanks for helping him." He pulled his communicator off his wrist, wondering if it was why they'd been able to understand each other or if these Greys had their own translator. "It means a lot to us that you helped him, if you need anything, open a portal to our reality if you know how and we'll try to help. Ask for the Scoobies."
"Very well. We will return you to Earth now."
