I've been very busy with my job so unfortunately haven't had much time for writing, I have a few chapters written after this so hoping to get a few more out over the next couple of days!
I groaned as moved my hand around the bed side table searching for my ringing phone with my eyes still closed. It was early. Too early. I couldn't believe someone was ringing me at this ungodly hour, it couldn't have been any later than 8 o'clock on a Saturday, why was someone calling me? I finally found my phone and brought it to my ear underneath the covers.
"Hello?" I grumbled rubbing my tired eyes.
"JAY!" Adam shouted down the phone.
"Adam what the fuck?" I snapped "It's too early for the shouting and the happy voice" I scolded him.
"Get up Jay I have just landed back in Asheville and I need to see you" Adam babbled excitedly. I groaned as began heaving myself up, so I was sat upright. Adam had been gone for 3 days but we had spoken every day and he had kept me updated on what the doctors were saying regarding a possible return to wrestling. He hadn't told me what the final decision had been yet but judging by how excited he sounded it was good news.
"What about Beth?" I asked through a yawn.
"She's still in Florida with everyone else" He told me.
"Ok, well I need to get ready when do you want to meet?" I asked as I began searching for some clothes to wear.
"I'll pick you up in an hour we'll go for breakfast" Adam told me as I eventually settled on high-waisted black skinny Jeans, a light pink over-sized Jumper and black knee-high boots.
"Ok…I'll see you soon I need to shower first cause I absolutely stink" I announced.
"Yeah…please don't stink" Adam chuckled, we said our goodbyes and I hopped in the shower.
"Morning Katrina" I said walking into the living room.
"Good morning Jayme…Are you going out?" She responded, confusion clear on her face.
"Yeah, Adam will be by in a minute to pick me up" I explained "We are going for breakfast" I added putting my coat on.
"You two seem very close now" Katrina smiled at me. I rolled my eyes and gave my aunt a quick hug.
"He has a girlfriend" I told her turning to leave the living room.
"Oh" She said clearly taken a back.
"I've told you before Katrina…We are just friends"
I sat tucking into my pancakes with maple syrup and bacon and sipping on my coffee in the small diner that Adam had brought us to. Adam sat opposite me with the exact same.
"So, come on Adam there has to be a reason you woke me up so early" I said.
"Yes" He grinned taking a sip of his coffee "I had a message when I got off the plane from the WWE's medical team" His face was beaming with happiness "They said I should be able to come back and wrestle again" The emotion on his face was overwhelming it was a bittersweet moment as I was beyond happy for Adam but the thought of not having him around to lean on and take my mind off of things was a hard pill to swallow.
"Wow" I exclaimed "I'm so happy for you Adam" I grinned sipping on my coffee.
"Thanks Jayme" Adam replied finishing up his breakfast "I can't wait to get back to it you know…to be able to end my career on my terms"
"It's amazing for you Adam I couldn't be happier"
"Come on…" Adam began before his phone ringing cut him off, he picked it up and looked at his screen for a moment.
"You can answer it's fine" I told him. He looked unsure but answered anyway.
"Hey babe…yeah...I know…I'm sorry" It was clear it was Beth on the other end of the phone, and it didn't take a genius to work out she really wasn't happy for some reason. I quietly picked up my phone and began slowly scrolling twitter to look busy whilst silently listening in on Adam's conversation. "I don't understand why you're so upset" He sounded exasperated "Alright…ok…no…I do get why you're upset…I'm sorry" Adam was babbling "I'm just out getting breakfast" It seemed to be calming down "No Jayme is here with…" maybe not, Beth was now shouting at Adam "Of course I told her…" he was back in hot water and it wasn't looking good at all for him.
"I'm going to go" I whispered standing up awkwardly, I wasn't about to make this worse for Adam. He quickly shook his head no in response and waved me to sit back down. I slowly did as I was told.
"Ok bye" Adam sighed putting the phone down, he rested his head in his hands and began rubbing his face in frustration.
"Is everything ok?" I uttered the words knowing full well how stupid I sounded but I had no idea what else to say, Adam let out a small laugh. "Sorry" I laughed putting my hand to my forehead.
"She's pissed she had to find out I'm returning to wrestling from Vince" He explained "It didn't help that I told you before her" he added.
"Christ Adam" I scolded him throwing my head back "What were you thinking?" I asked.
"I don't know Jay" He ran his hands through his blonde hair "I found out the news and I just instantly rang you…I didn't think about it" I could see how awful he felt by his face, he was clearly torn up about his mistake.
"Adam…Call her back and apologise" I told him "I'm going to go home…Let me know if you get things sorted" I didn't give him a chance to reply before I got out of my seat and left the diner to make my way home.
Sorry about breakfast this morning Jay

I sighed at the text on my phone. I felt sorry for Adam I did but he had made a massive mistake telling me about his return to wrestling before telling Beth. I had left so he could fix things without me around making things worse. I couldn't lie and say I wasn't slightly happy he had thought about me before his own girlfriend, but I didn't understand why he would do that. Surely Beth should be the first person he wanted to tell? Then again what did I know about relationships? Absolutely nothing if my marriage had been anything to go by.
Did you guys sort it out?
Jayme x
Yeah, I think so

I put my phone back in my pocket and continued walking through the trees with the dogs holding tightly to Steve's lead to avoid another instance like when me and Adam met. The cold crisp November air was biting at my cheeks as I walked. I took a deep breath of the cold air smiled slightly, I had come to really enjoy my regular walks in Asheville, it had quickly become my favourite thing about moving out here. Apart from meeting Adam of course. I pulled my woolly hat down over my ears with my free hand, fighting with Steve with the other trying with all my might to stop him sprinting off. Kai and Pippa were off out in front playing together and sniffing everything in sight, they were incredibly cute together. I made a quick mental note to see of Adam wanted to walk Tundra with them at some point.
"Hello Stranger" Came a familiar voice from behind me. I spun on my heel coming face to face with the last person I thought I would ever see here. The one person I had moved thousands of miles to get away from. Horrified I lost my footing as I took my focus from controlling Steve, I hit the deck hard and groaned. I gasped as my eyes met a pair of dark chocolate brown ones. A pair of eyes I had come to love and know all too well.
"Ow" I groaned pulling myself up off the floor. I turned my back on the unexpected visitor as I went after Steve who had darted off into the distance. "STEVE!" I shouted running after him, Pippa and Kai were close behind me. They were the complete opposite of Steve, they would never go far and would always follow, they were obedient and good listeners. I liked Pippa and Kai way more than the little arsehole Steve.
"I've got him" A male voice called, I recognised this one but it didn't fill me with dread like the last I had heard.
"Thanks Adam" I grumbled as he came towards me holding Steve's lead, he chuckled in response handing me the lead.
"No problem everything ok? You look like you've seen a ghost Jay?" He asked, concern etched across his face. If only he knew.
"Yeah Fine" I uttered.
"Jay, who's this?" Adam asked gesturing behind me. My stomach dropped and I closed my eyes trying to compose myself. I turned around and faced Gavin.
"Adam. This is Gavin…My husband"
