" In other news, five people have been found killed in an apartment complex. The cause of the deaths is unknown and the preparators are still at large. The police asked that people remain on guard and not stay out at night" Matthew turned off the TV.
" That is why we are staying here for a while" Rosa explained.
" I see. Well, I suppose we do have some of the best security in the world" Matthew said sheepishly.
" Well yeah considering you have sentient animatronics that can kill people" John muttered.
" Listen if we wanted to kill you we would have done so already" Foxy huffs.
" Oh, it's not that it's just the absurdity of it all" John defended him.
" What do you mean by that?" Chica asks.
" What I mean is that somehow you all came to life. How do you think the rest of the will will react to this" John said.
" If they find out in the first place" Bonnie points out.
" Makes me wonder what would happen to Matthew here as a result" John looked at him a bit worried.
" If they lay a finger on even a single strand of hair. I will personally snap their neck like a twig." Freddy says as some hostility comes off of him. The mere thought of Matthew being interrogated by the US government causes all of them to shutter.
" Besides, it's not like the others wouldn't do something about it too" Goldie points out.
" The others?" John asks confused.
" We have our suspicions that somehow the device that Matthew found in the abandoned mall is now affecting all the other games that he owns," Goldie explains.
" Do you mean all of his games?" Rosa asks worried about what this could mean.
" None of us know" Matthew shrugs.
" How are you so nonchalant about all this" John almost yells at him.
" Well, what do you want me to do" Matthew snaps.
" First off, you need to take this more seriously" John yells.
" I do take this seriously" Matthew responded.
" No, you don't All you do is insult us with terrible nicknames" all the animatronics replied. Matthew looked at them like they just betrayed him.
" The hell man you're supposed to say yes," Matthew said.
" That would be lying though" John smiled.
" Well, whatever" Matthew mumbled. Matthew then proceeded to turn on the TV again just to see what else was on the news. Apparently besides the murders, not much else has happened. But the community is quite shocked by this turn of events. Considering that people were just murdered inside an apartment complex with no suspects. The police are at a loss and honestly have no idea who did this. At least that's the impression that Matthew got from the news report.
Meanwhile
In the police headquarters was a detective watching security footage from one of the murder sites. The victim was a young kid who was very verbally abusive. He did some questionable things and found it hard to make friends. The impression he got from talking with students at the school he went to was that the kid was a jerk. Socially reclusive not much in the way friends. But what got the detective's attention was what the security footage was showing.
Someone or something physically climbed through a TV screen and just slaughtered the kid. From what he can gather, it doesn't look like a man. Instead, it looked like a yellow bunny with black liquid coming from the orifices. The body itself was well-built and yellow. He noticed two bright blue eyes and a purple bow tie. As soon as the yellow bunny finished strangling the kid it turned and looked at the security camera. Soon as that happened it all went dark and the video ended.
"What the hell was happening here?" The detective was confused. What the hell is someone or something climbing through a TV screen to strangle a kid and make the security camera fizzle out? Something was going on and he was going to get to the bottom of it somehow.
" Watching security camera footage isn't going to get to the bottom of the murder" He looked behind them and saw his partner standing there in the doorway.
" I'm just confused that's all" He replied while looking back at the footage.
" Of course, considering some yellow creature climb through a TV screen and kill the kid. That's not normal" She replied.
" What made you think that this was normal in the first place?" He asked.
" I don't know but since this creature just climbed through a TV was not what I expected" She replied.
" I suppose you do have a point" To be honest none of them were expecting this. I mean it's not every day you see a bipedal yellow rabbit strangle a kid. Why was it a kid? What was the motive behind this? Was there a rhyme or reason behind this or was it just for the heck of it? Was this thing a sick bastard who just loved to kill people? Whatever it was this probably wasn't the last they'd see of it. But now that he thought about it, perhaps this thing was related to the other murders. There was a string of cold cases where people were left dead, yet there was no sign of forced entry. Nor was there any indication of how the perp escaped. A few security cameras showed the same thing. Something climbs out of a screen, whether it be a computer or TV screen, and kills the inhabitants. He decided to compare the images to those of fictional characters. Perhaps they were wearing costumes or something. That wouldn't explain the fact that they're climbing out of computer and TV screens.
Comparing them to fictional characters. He saw that they were indeed from a variety of franchises. Somewhere mainstream or somewhere independent. But there was one connection. They were all video game characters. Somehow these video game characters were coming to life. And they did not seem very friendly. It just left a lot of questions that they did not have any answers to. But there was one thing, the police were not just going to give up regardless of how weird these cases were.
