"Someone like you doesn't deserve the title of hero!"
Mandalay gritted her teeth as she dodged another swing from lizard villains weapon. The awkward looking sword looked far too big to be practical, and yet he was able to whip it around quite fast forcing the pussycat member back. Looking to her side, she saw Tiger himself was also struggling to land a hit on his opponent as well, both of these villains more agile than they appeared. Not only that, but her mind was scattered as she saw Pixie Bob injured on the ground and Ragdoll had not answered any of her messages either.
'What the hell is going on? Why is she not answering?'Mandalay hissed to herself as she tried throwing a leg sweep out, but her eyes went wide when Spinner jumped in the air and whipped his sword above his head and a large grin on his face.
"Time for a fake like you to die!"
Before she could jump back, Mandalay's mouth dropped in shock when a red headed student rushed by her and stood in the way. "Wait, what are you-
"Rah!" Kirishima roared out and hardened his body just as the large collection of blades cracked over his body and shattered instantly.
"What the?!" Spinner gasped out in shock to the sudden kid in front of him.
"You aren't hurting anyone tonight!" Kirishima yelled in anger and braced his body for more.
Glaring, Spinner whipped out several knives from his pockets. "A stupid kid like you should stay out of my way. Stain only allows true heroes to exist, and I will help continue his vision."
"And who cares about that vision?!" Tetsutetsu called out as he came up next to Mandalay, the teacher in shock to the two students and their battered conditions.
"What are you two doing here? What… what happened?!" She yelled out in worry.
"There are more villains in the forest. We got away, but they are after Bakugo!" Kirishima answered, causing all of the combatants there to go wide eyed.
"They are after one of the students?!" Tiger growled out in anger. "You criminals have no moral code!"
While the heroes were in worry to what these criminals were planning, Tiger's opponent Magne was in disbelief to what was just said. 'What? How did that kid know we were after Bakugo? What idiot spilled that information? Wait… that loud crash earlier… only two members in our group fight with that power. Does it mean these kids took out Muscular? Impossible! But…' Kicking off the ground, Magne went straight towards Kirishima with a clenched fist. "This kid is still on the kill list!"
"Shit, look out!" Tetsutetsu yelled as the villain charged forward.
"Don't even think about it!" Tiger roared out and threw a spinning kick at Magne forcing them to turn and block it, keeping the focus on him. "You are fighting me!"
Mandalay stepped forward and walked in front of the two students. "Both of you head back to the camp now. We will make sure these guys won't be hurting anyone else!"
While they didn't want to leave the pros, both Kirishima and Tetsutetsu knew they were in no condition to try and face anyone now. Nodding, they ran off towards the camp facility as Mandalay clenched her fists and faced off the lizard villain once more. "What is the reason you are after Bakugo?"
"You think I'm going to tell that to pathetic posers like you?!" Spinner snapped out. "You don't deserve to know he is to be taken back to our boss and-
"You idiot!" Magne snapped out!
"Oops."
Tsu panted as she leaped to the next tree just before the large claws ripped through the trunk she was on before. She looked back to see the massive form of dark shadow chasing her through the forest, but more so to the horrifying sight of her friend struggling in agony. She skidded across the ground facing the large form coming towards her, clutching the wound on her shoulder.
"Tokoyami, fight it!" She called out to him as dark shadow growled out and swung forward once more.
"Tsu, get away from me!" Tokoyami yelled in fear as she barely evaded another attack. "Get away! I… I can't control dark shadow here!"
"Yes you can. Fight it!" Tsu jumped away once more as dark shadows massive hand smashed into the ground. She attempted to jump onto another tree, but the strain on her shoulder caused her to gasp out in pain and fall back to the dirt.
"Tsu!" Tokoyami screamed as she dropped, watching in horror as he felt his quirk move forward. "Dark shadow, please stop! She's a friend!"
"Blood! Give it to me!"
Tokoyami shivered at the sickening voice coming from his quirk, using all of his willpower to try and stop it. His wish however went unanswered, feeling dark shadow charging forward, his own body forced to move inside the dark energy coming out of himself. He felt a sickening chill in his stomach at the blood lust his quirk gained at full power, the anger and rage seeping out of the quirk like water. Worst of all, he had no way of stopping the rage infused beast from hurting his friend. He couldn't stop… from being a monster.
"Tsu… just leave me and get out of here. Go."
Running through the trees, Tsu turned back around to look at her pleading friend. But when she did, she was shocked when she saw the tears falling down Tokoyami's face. Her heart immediately ached in pain seeing him like that, so tormented by his helplessness. She had to do something to help him, but with it being dark, there was no way to make dark shadow retract. If she could somehow lure him back towards the camp, maybe the lights could be enough to stop his quirk.
"Everyone! All of you be careful while in the forest! The villains have a number of students they want to kill, so all of you watch out! And especially to Bakugo! You are of importance to the villains and they are after you, head back to camp immediately!"
"Bakugo?" Tsu said in confusion as she ran through the woods. "Why would they be after him? He-
Suddenly, her mind clicked when she remembered he was behind her and Tokoyami. She remembered how Bakugo had completely overwhelmed Tokoyami, and Todoroki was there as well. If anyone could help halt Dark shadow's rage, it was those two. And she was certainly going to do anything to help her friend.
"I won't leave him…" She hissed to herself as she looked back at Tokoyami, her heart aching at the pain on his face. "...I'm not going leave you like this."
From his position, Tokoyami struggled in vain as he tried stopping his quirks rampage. He looked back down in worry as he sensed dark shadow charging forward again, but was shocked as he saw Tsu staying just outside of his quirks range. "Tsu, what are you doing? Get away!"
"I'm not leaving you alone…" Tsu whispered to herself as she kept pace just outside of dark shadows reach. "I won't leave you suffering like this. Once we find Bakugo and Tokoroki, we will help you be free." She quickly jumped up onto a tree trunk just as the creatures large claws smashed into the ground. She leapt off as another attack ripped through the tree trunk, grunting through the pain in her shoulder and running through the darkness. "Bakugo can do it again. He can do it!"
"Die you freaky tooth fucker!"
Bakugo charged forward and brought his hand back to release his quirk, but skidded to a stop as a wall of ice shot up and blocked his path. "What the hell icy hot?! Quit getting in my way!" he snapped out.
"Bakugo, don't be a fool. You are a target to the villains, that means you need to stay back!" Shoto shot back.
"I just just need to kick this guys ass and then we won't have a problem and-
Bakugo gasped out as the ice shattered suddenly, the jagged blades ripping through it and rushing past his head. Shoto gritted his teeth and slammed his foot down again, unleashing another wall of ice up and blocking the incoming attack once more. Activating it further, Shoto shot his ice out and at the villain Moonfish, his knife tooth quirk retracting back into his mouth as he jumped out of the way before unleashing his weaponry from his exposed gum line again. "We can't be reckless against this guy. And you can't just use your quirk in the forest without risking starting a fire."
Bakugo's forehead vein pulsed in annoyance to Shoto's warning. "I know that, smart ass! That's why I'm gonna blow that tooth freak into the sky!"
Shoto glared at the stubbornness of Bakugo, but before he could say anything, he caught sight of Moonfish attacking once more. He unleashed more ice to stop the racing blades, the ice fracturing from the sharp appendages skewering into it. "I can't use my fire either. This is not the place to be fighting him. Let's retreat back to the camp."
Bakugo was about to shout back, but a sudden rumbling caused his mouth to drop in surprise. "What the hell is that now?"
Shoto noticed it as well, hearing loud crashing coming towards them. "I don't know." After a few moments, his eyes shot open in surprise when he saw Tsu hopping through the forest, with something massive breaking through the treeline right behind her. "What the hell is that?!"
"Bakugo, Todoroki!" Tsu screamed out leaping over a fallen log. "Make some light to stop Tokoyami!"
"What?" Shoto looked past her and was stunned when he noticed their classmate trapped within the gargantuan sized shadow beast. "That's… dark shadow?!"
"RAHHHHH!" Dark shadow roared in fury as it crashed through the trees, furious it couldn't catch the hopping frog teen in front of itself. It's mind was too focused on attacking it could think of nothing else, ignoring it's owners pleas to stop. Charging through the forest, it suddenly noticed another figure directly in front of itself, hissing in rage when it sensed Moonfish ahead. "I'll kill you!"
Moonfish growled out and unleashed his blade tooth quirk at the charging shadow, but was shocked when the blades pierced straight through the incoming clawed hand and did nothing to stop it. Before he could even move, dark shadows large hand encircled the villain and began crushing him, the force actually shattering the steel weapons like toothpicks.
"Holy shit…" Bakugo grinned in amusement as he watched the villains face suddenly contort into fear as his quirk was destroyed. "He took out that bastard instantly."
"Get out of my way!" Dark shadow growled and slammed Moonfish straight through a nearby tree before launching his limp body through the forest, smashing straight through another trunk and skidding across the dirt. The villains face was twisted in agony and pain, nearly every tooth in his mouth shattered as he lay unconcious on the ground while Dark shadow roared into the night. "Blood. Give me more! I am not finished yet!"
Boosh!
Dark shadows roar turned into a shriek as the blinding light of Bakugo's palm and Shoto's flames rushed past, the sudden light forcing its size down until control went back to it's host. Dropping to his knees, Tokoyami panted out in relief knowing he could actually move on his own now, sweat falling down his face as he clenched his fist. "Finally… I… thank you." he huffed out to the others.
"We should be thanking you. You took care of that guy causing us problems just now." Shoto responded, looking over to see Tsu approaching them, his eyes noticing the blood on her shoulder. "Are you alright?"
Tsu gave a small nod in return. "Ribbit. You too. After we ran into that guy, Tokoyami lost control of dark shadow and we got pushed further into the woods."
Tokoyami felt his heart clench to her description, her words clearly not telling the truth to what had happened. "I'm… I'm so sorry, Tsu. I wanted to stop so badly, but I couldn't do anything. I…" He looked down to his shaking hands, clenching his teeth in frustration. "… I almost killed you with dark shadow. How can I call myself a hero with something so dangerous?"
While the others sat in silence at his words, Tsu walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder. "If I remember, dark shadow came out to protect us. He just got a little fired up, that's all."
Tokoyami's mouth fell open in shock to her words, looking up to her friendly smile. His breath faltered in his throat as she pushed aside his quirks rampage like nothing, holding no harsh feelings towards him for what had happened. "You… you aren't upset with what happened?"
Shaking her head, Tsu simply rubbed his shoulder more. "How could I be upset with a mistake? I know you would never try and hurt me or anyone of us. It just means we will have to work together more for your quirk."
The cold feeling inside of Tokoyami's chest felt like it had melted instantly to the warm words she said to him. Even though he had nearly killed her, Tsu saw nothing different about him as to who he was. He looked over to see Shoto give a nod of approval as well, with Bakugo simply frowning as usual. Taking a breath, he stood up from the ground and nodded to the frog teen. "Thank you, Tsu."
"Ribbit." She smiled in happiness before turning towards Bakugo. "What should we do with Bakugo now?"
"Huh? What about me, frogger?" Bakugo growled out. "I can handle myself and don't need protection!"
"She's right, if the villains are after Bakugo, then sticking together is the best plan." Shoto added.
"Hey, don't ignore me Icy Hot!"
"Guys!"
The four teens turned to the sudden voice, their eyes all widening in surprise when they saw Izuku running their direction. "Midoriya? What are… what happened?!" Tsu gasped out when she noticed the injuries littering his body as he skidded to a stop in front of them.
Even Bakugo was surprised seeing Midoriya so injured, seeing the blood dripping down his broken arms. "What the hell happened to you, Deku?"
Panting, Izuku took a second to catch his breath. "One of the villains was attacking Kirishima and Tetsutetsu, but we were able to stop him. I heard something in this direction and came as fast as I could."
"Here, let me help you." Tsu said as she pulled off her top shirt and ripped it in half. She scrambled around and found several branches and brought it over to him. "You are hurt really bad."
As she began making him some makeshift splinters for his limbs, Shoto sighed in relief."We are fine. There was a villain but he's been taken care of as well." he paused and adjusted the unconscious class B member on his back. "Now that we-
"Have you seen her?" Izuku's eyes shot back and forth to the trees. "Momo… have you seen her?! Kirishima said he left with Katara to help the others!"
Shoto felt his chest suddenly tighten at that. "They didn't go back to camp? They are still out there?"
Sensing the worry in Shoto's voice, Tokoyami couldn't help but feel worried for his friend as well. "They should have gone back to camp for safety."
"Then we need to go and find them fast. It's better to be all together." Tsu said to them all. "If we stick together, we can also keep Bakugo safe."
"I told you I don't need protection!" Bakugo snapped out.
"She's right. If we keep Kachaan in the center, then we have the advantage over the villains." Izuku added.
"God Damn it, why the hell are you all ignoring me?!" Bakugo barked out in annoyance.
Shoto stared at the ground in concern as he thought of where Katara was, so focused on the villain ahead of himself he nearly forgot she went into the forest after his turn. He turned to the group to agree with their plan, but he suddenly noticed the red flare in the distance above the tree line. "Look. Someone's signaling for help!"
"Huh?" Tsu and all the others looked up as well, seeing the bright light drifting in the sky. "A flare?"
"Momo…" Izuku mumbled out as his eyes stayed locked onto the flare, knowing she was able to create anything with her quirk. After a few moments, a second flare shot up into the sky, this one a little further away. "She's leaving a trail for us to see. She needs help!"
Shoto's mind began spinning inside his head as he watched the second flare in the sky. If Katara was with Yaoyorozu and she still sent up a signal for help, he knew there must be something serious that happened. Clenching his teeth, he swallowed the lump in his throat and glared to the distance. "Let's go and find them."
Lowering the flare gun, Momo panted as she struggled to keep her balance. Her side was killing her as she tried standing up straight, wincing and gripping the bloody patch through her shirt. Her head was beginning to spin as well from her quirk draining her energy along with the blood she had already lost. She wasn't sure how much longer she could go on like this for. If she wasn't careful, she was going to lose consciousness if she kept up this pace. The loud cough to her right caught her attention, looking over to see her partner in no better shape.
Kendo was struggling as well, using a tree to help stand herself up. Her bloodied hand held onto her cracked ribs, the intense pain making every step feel like agony. She coughed several more times and spit out a mouthful of blood, but she wasn't concerned about herself, instead focused ahead of them into the trees. "Come on, we can't lose it." She hissed out.
Momo turned forward as well, looking ahead as she caught sight of the nomu walking through the forest. Her heart raced in fear as she looked down and saw Katara hanging limp in the monsters hand. After hearing Mandalay's warning about the villains goal, she could only imagine what kind of horrible things they would do if they were planning on taking her. Clenching her fist, she forced herself forward and hobbled after the creature, sweating as she created another flare cartridge and loaded it in the gun. "We won't lose it. We can't leave her!"
Struggling to keep up, the pair of teens chased after the nomu as fast as they could. Despite how terrified she felt, Momo was not going to abandon her friend to be taken like this. Aiming her gun up, she shot off another flare to guide whatever help could get to them before it was too late.
"Hmm… that's not much. I'm going to need a lot more than this." Toga mumbled looking at the small bit of blood on her knife. Turning around, she giggled at the two teens staring back at her. "If you don't mind, I'll just get a little more now."
Covering the slash on her arm, Uraraka stepped back and pushed herself against Toru, the invisible girl gripping her side tightly. She stared in confusion to the other girl who looked to be her own age."What are you doing? Who are you?" she shot out.
"Oh I don't need to tell you all of that…" Toga chuckled and reached into her tool belt and pulled out a syringe attached to a long tube. "But I think I'll take some of that blood from you now."
"Blood? What the heck kind of thing is that to ask for?!" Toru trembled as she watched crazed girl come their way.
Toga licked her lips and smirked "Don't worry. I just need enough to make you sleep for a long time!"
"Look out! Uraraka yelled out as Toga ran towards them, pushing Toru out of the way before ducking just in time as the syringe flew past her and stuck into the tree trunk. "Hagakure! Get away from here!"
"Uraraka, come on!" Toru called out as she readied to run through the trees.
"Not so fast!" Toga snickered and spun around, launching her knife out towards the invisible girl. The blade stuck into the tree to her left, but suddenly Toru screamed out as she leaped up in agony.
"Hagakure!" Uraraka screamed in fear as she saw blood leaking from where the knife was, meaning her arm had been struck and was now pinned to the tree.
"Ooh, what a shot, hahaaha!" Toga giggled as she pulled out another knife. "I was always the best at darts, and now I hit a target I can't see! Now how about I take that blood now?"
"Get away from her!" Uraraka yelled out and ran straight at Toga, her anger overpowering her fear. To her own shock, she dodged the incoming knife thrust from Toga, her body reacting on its own and replaying the training she had. She quickly grabbed her foes wrist, flipped her around and slammed her into the dirt pinning her down.
"Wow…" Toru whispered in amazement to her friends moves, wincing as she tried pulling the knife out of her forearm. "Ow, ow ow!"
Wrenching on Toga's wrist, Uraraka forced her to drop the knife. "You are not getting any blood from us!" She growled out, but she was caught off guard as she felt the girl beneath her chuckle.
"Hmm… Uraraka wasn't it?" Toga turned and smirked up to the girl on her back. "You have someone special you like, don't you?"
Uraraka felt her heart skip a beat to the random question, feeling a strange chill crawl up her back as Toga snickered.
"I can tell… you're just like me. You like someone so much you end up acting like them. Doing things that they do just so you can try and get them to notice you. I can't help but love people who are all bloodied and cut up. It drives me crazy and I can't stop from thinking about them." Toga felt her cheeks blush as she imagined blood dripping down a persons face, her words causing Uraraka to shiver. "I love it so much I end up carving up anyone… to make them look like who I want. I want to see their blood all over, and I can't ever get enough!"
The sudden sharp pain in her leg caused Uraraka to yelp out, looking down in horror as Toga had stuck another syringe into her thigh.
"Uraraka!" Toru yelled out as she struggled to pull the knife from the tree pinning her.
"Suck suck… suck suck." Toga hummed in pleasure as the stream of blood flowed through the tube and into her storage canisters. While she shivered at the sickening feeling, Uraraka knew if she let go, that meant Toga had the chance to attack as well.
"Ochaco!"
All the girls looked up to see Tsu leaping through the air straight towards the pair on the ground. Seeing she had no choice, Toga forced through the grip on her body and broke free, jumping out of the way just before Tsus foot slammed into her head. Leaping into the bushes, Toga grunted in annoyance seeing the other teen's approaching from behind. "There's quite a lot now. Looks like I should be heading back now." As she turned to leave, however, her face flushed red when she saw the bloodied up face and body of Midoriya approaching.
'So cute!'
"Ochaco, are you okay?" Tsu asked as she helped her friend up.
"Y-yeah, I'm okay." Uraraka nodded as she looked to the others, her eyes shooting open in horror when she saw Izuku's condition. "Deku! What… what happened?!"
"I'm okay, don't worry…" Izuku forced a chuckle as she approached. "But we have to go now. Momo and Katara may need our help."
"What?" Toru winced as Tsu helped free her arm from the trunk. "But we haven't seen them."
"We saw a flare past this direction. It has to be them!" Izuku yelled out in concern. "If we can get them now, we can all get Kachaan back to camp safely as well."
"Bakugo?" Uraraka tilted her head in confusion. "Where is he then? I thought he was with Todoroki?"
"What do you mean?" Izuku turned around to the group behind him. "Kachaan is right-
He wasn't.
"Wh-what?" Izuku's blood ran cold when he saw Bakugo was no longer behind Shoto, who was also in complete shock to the missing class member. "Where did he…?"
"Do not worry. Young Bakugo will be joining us for a special event."
All of the students looked up to the branches above to see a tall man in a yellow rain coat with a white mask and a top hat on his head. The man chuckled as he spun a small cane in his hand. "I took him with my magic. A talented kid like him would be wasting his potential as a hero. We will give him a grander stage to show what he can really do."
"Took him?!" Izuku then noticed the small marble bouncing in the man's hand, realizing he must have captured him with some kind of transformation quirk. "Give him back!"
Mr. Compress tilted his head in surprise. "Give him? Is he a piece of property to control? I think that's the problem with you kids these days. Thinking you can tell others what to do."
Tsu glared up at the man in the trees, looking over to the others with them. When she did, her heart skipped a beat when she realized another person was missing. "T-Tokoyami? Where did he go?!" she yelled out in shock.
"What?" Shoto turned around and saw she was right. Somehow both of them had been taken without himself even hearing it. "How the hell…. What kind of quirk is that?"
"I saw what your bird friend did to Moonfish," Compress shifted his hand around, revealing the second marble in his grasp, "While he wasn't the brightest, he was in fact a death row inmate. It would be interesting to see what a little freedom could do for him as well."
"Let them go!" Shoto yelled and slammed his right foot onto the ground, unleashing a barrage of ice up towards the tree. Casually evading it, Compress jumped behind the glacier and leaped through the tree tops.
"It's such a shame all of you kids choose to waste yourselves at this useless school. Perhaps these two can show you all what it's like to be yourselves for once." he taunted showing off the marbles before shoving them in his pocket.
"Come on, we can't let him get away!" Izuku screamed out and chased after him with the others close behind. As they ran however, they saw this man's agility was much greater than theirs and was slowly gaining ground over them. "We can't lose him!"
Watching the villain get further away, Shoto growled out in frustration seeing they were close to losing him now. Suddenly, another flare was shot in the distance. If by some chance of luck, it was near the direction they were heading… or it meant somewhere bad and Katara was there as well. He knew if they were going to catch this guy, they would have to be much faster.
"We won't catch him like this. We need for you to throw us." he said.
"What? What are you talking about?!" Uraraka questioned. Izuku however skidded to a stop, knowing exactly what he meant.
"He's right. Uraraka, you need to lighten us so Tsu can throw us straight at him. When are are close, release your quirk so we can get him to the ground." he quickly added.
"But I can't that good." Tsu warned. "What if I miss?"
"I will handle that. Just get us close." Shoto told her while setting down the class B member for Toru to carry. "We have to do this quick to save them and find the others. They are close."
Izuku felt his chest tighten as he and Shoto were wrapped in Tsu's tongue. He desperately wanted to get to Momo and make sure she was safe, but if he left Bakugo and Tokoyami to be captured, he could never look at himself with any respect. He had to help them. He nodded as Uraraka came up and touched both of them removing their gravity. "Both of you be careful."
"And make sure you get them back!" Tsu croaked out before whipping her tongue around and launching the pair of them into the sky.
"WAAHAH!" Izuku yelped out in shock as he and Shoto were catapulted into the air flying after the leaping villain. After a few moments he adjusted to the motion and watched as they approached, noticing they were slightly off course, though. "We are going to miss him!" He yelled in worry.
"No… we won't. Hold onto me." Shoto growled and took a deep breath, focusing as his left hand aimed to the side, exhaling right when he expelled a blast of flames to readjust their trajectory. The slight change turned their direction just enough to push to the right, and a very shocked compress turning around as they slammed into his back.
"Wow Toga, you only got one blood sample?! You were supposed to get like three!" Twice scolded before posing seriously. "You should be ashamed of yourself."
"Oh well, it can't be helped." Toga suddenly blushed as she remembered the face she saw. "I met someone so amazing though! He was so cute!"
As Twice went from happy to serious with his dual personality tick and chatted about nonsense with the newcomer Toga, Dabi grunted to himself as he kicked the still unconscious Muscular beneath him. "Hmph… this big bastard is still out. Must have been quite the hit to get this guy to the ground." He chuckled to himself and looked around. The nomu he summoned should he back any minute, curious to see if it had gotten lucky and come across at least one of the two teens that he had wanted. While he would have loved to have his fun, if it didn't and meant he had to wait for another opportunity, then he would have to plan for something else. Sighing, he turned and looked up towards the stars, his eyes catching some form of movement coming their way. "Huh?"
In the center of the clearing, Compress gasped out as both Shoto and Izuku slammed his body into the dirt creating a small crater from the impact. The three villains sat in surprise to the sudden arrival of their other comrade and two uninvited guests, only for Dabi to grin to himself when he recognized one of them. "Well, it appears I am somewhat lucky tonight." he chuckled out.
Quickly digging into Compress's pocket, Shoto cheered internally when he felt the two marbles inside and pulled them out. "Alright, let's get out of here!"
"Right!" Izuku responded and leaped off the downed villain after Shoto. He only made it a few steps before he gasped and barely evaded a knife whizzing past his face to see Toga charging right at him.
"You came to say hello to me! Let me know who you are!" Toga shrieked in excitement as she tried slashing at the shocked Izuku.
"Midoriya!" Shoto called out as he saw him being attacked, but jumped back as well as Twice attempted to catch him. He slammed his right hand into the ground unleashing a column of ice out, but was stunned when the man's seemingly normal looking measuring tape whipped out and slashed through his ice.
"Very rude to attack strangers!" Twice scolded him. "Learn some manners, brat!"
"Damn it…" Shoto growled out, not expecting to have landed right in the center of more villains. "Midoriya, let's just get out of here!" Stomping hard into the ground, a massive wall of ice burst outward forcing the pair of villains away from them giving themselves a much needed moment. "Now's our chance, come on!"
"R-right!" Izuku nodded and jumped after him, the numbness in his arms beginning to fade and pain starting to come inside. He pushed through it as he and Shoto ran, but a blast of blue flames shot past them scorching the trees to their front blocking their path. "What the -"
Gritting his teeth, Shoto turned around to see Dabi walking towards them, his hand emitting the same bright blue fire. "damn it… this isn't good." he said to himself.
"Sorry, but I can't let you be leaving this place." Dabi grinned as he approached, his blue flames illuminating the area. "We worked hard to get Bakugo, and it would be rude for you to take him, Shoto Todoroki."
Shoto glared as the scarred man approached. "You know who I am?"
"Of course I do. You're Endeavor's little masterpiece. The pride of the Todoroki lineage and perfect in every way. Made by him to be flawless. Well…" Dabi snickered and rubbed his fingers over his own left eye. "...Almost flawless."
Scowling, Shoto's right fist emitted a cool frost as he prepared to strike. "You act like you know who my father is."
"Oh, I know exactly who he is, more than you ever could. And I know what would make him hurt." Dabi chuckled as held his hand up towards the teen. "Another scar across his prized possessions face would certainly look bad for the number two hero. I can do my best to make it match if you'd like."
Growling out, Shoto was ready to unleash his quirk as Dabi came closer. Knowing fighting was not the best option especially outnumbered though, Shoto knew to somehow escape was the best option still. As he glanced around though, his eyes shot open when he saw a large figure coming through the trees to the left, it's exposed brain a quick giveaway to what it was. "A nomu?" he mumbled out.
"What?!" Izuku gasped as he saw it's head as well, "They have another one of those things here?!"
Turning to the commotion, Dabi sighed seeing it finally arrived. As it came through the trees, however, his face shifted from a small grin to maniacal when he saw it wasn't alone. "Wow, this has certainly been a night to remember for me now." He laughed out loud.
Shoto was already on edge seeing the creature come more into view, knowing just what these things could do. When it came through the trees fully however, Shoto's blood felt like it froze over in that moment. Every sound seemed to vanish instantly when his eyes reached to the monsters hand, his mouth trembling in absolute horror as the nomu's grotesque fingers were wrapped around someone he had hoped to see tonight, but now felt like he was trapped inside of a nightmare. The blood dripping from her mouth only made his heart beat faster, unable to remove his gaze from her now.
There in the nomu's hand was the limp form of Katara.
"Oh God…" Izuku whispered in horror seeing her hanging there in it's grip, his own heart hammering in his chest as she didn't even look to be breathing. "Katara… she's…" His mind then screamed out in horror, remembering that Katara was alone here. His breath caught in his throat when he realized Momo wasn't here with her. "What… what happened?"
"Perfect, isn't it?" Dabi sneered as the nomu walked his way carrying the unconscious waterbender. "I was worried I wasn't going to come across either of you, but both of you are here? This has been my night."
Shoto didn't even register a single word he had said just now. The two marbles in his hand fell and bounced on the dirt, not even remembering who those were at this point. Everything that could process thought or senses were focused on only one thing; the girl he couldn't take his eyes off. His jaw trembled in fear, horror… and rage. His breath came in ragged gasps as his heart was inflamed in anger. His left side steamed as his quirk began feeding off his emotions, fueling the fire in his body as he stared at her limp form. His left hand twitched in fury as his right suddenly became encased in jagged ice spikes. A thick column of ice erupted behind himself as well as he lost all thoughts of running anymore.
"GET AWAY FROM HER NOW!"
Izuku gasped as Shoto burst past him using his right side, the sudden gust of freezing air rushing by and forcing him back a step. "Todoroki!" He called out, but his words went only reached deaf ears at this point.
"LET HER GO!" Shoto roared out as raced across the small clearing, bursting right past the surprised Dabi and going straight at the nomu and bringing his right hand back. Even as the nomu screeched and brought it's other arm back to strike at him, he did not stop, his anger overriding his thoughts and swinging his arm forward, unleashing a wave of ice out and released it, striking the nomu like a freight train. The beast hissed out as it was slammed into one of the trees and pinned with his ice, spinning around and seeing Katara sprawled out on the ground. "Katara!" he called as he ran towards her, but another blast of blue fire rushed by and blocked his path.
"Don't think you can just take her and go," Dabi warned her as he ignited his right hand. "I'd prefer if you didn't struggle and come with me, little boy. Your daddy would be very upset if you got hurt… even though that's exactly what would be perfect."
Baring his teeth in anger, Shoto turned and slammed his hand onto the ground unleashing a massive wall of ice, prompting Dabi to chuckle and bring both his hands forward and blast forth his fire as well. The blue flames and ice collided in a loud crash, chunks of the ice shattering off before melting from the blazing heat. Steam burst outward warming the entire area, Izuku staring in fear as he watched the fire melt right through Shoto's attacks. He then looked down and saw Katara laying on the ground, his heart racing as he saw some of the flames getting dangerously close to her.
"I have to get her away now!" he yelled at himself, screaming in pain as he reached down and forced his damaged hand to pick up Bakugo and Tokoyami from the ground. Gritting his teeth, he knew he just had to somehow get a hold of Katara and get her out of here. He didn't care if he had to drag her by the shirt with his teeth, he wasn't going to leave her either. Before he could run however, he gasped out as a sudden force slammed into his back and forced him to the dirt, looking up in shock to see Toga sitting on top of him.
"I found you again! You tried to leave without introducing yourself!" Toga giggled maniacally as she rubbed a knife along his cheek. "You look so adorable! All the blood… I want to taste!"
Izuku shivered at the sickening words of the girl above him, looking back in terror as the nomu had broken free of the ice holding it back. His heart pounded in his chest as he saw it walking back towards Katara. "No no no!"
With Shoto occupied holding Dabi back, there was no one able to stop the nomu from simply grabbing Katara once more. He had to somehow get to her fast, to get her into the forest and away from here. He had to also somehow find Momo in the forest, praying she was somehow okay and-
"K-Katara!"
Izuku's eyes burst open when he heard the familiar voice call out from the trees, his gaze shooting to the side and locking onto the very one he was looking for. His heart nearly exploded in his chest when he saw Momo standing there alive, but then his relief turned to shock when he saw the blood covering her entire side. "M-Momo!" he called out.
She didn't hear his cry however, panting hard as she pushed through the branches to enter the clearing and run towards Katara. "Katara! Oh god…" Momo whispered as she almost reached her, but the loud footstep to her left made her look up in terror as the nomu was above her once more.
"Momo, get away!"
The loud call of her name caused Momo's heart to jump, her gaze immediately drawn to the source. When she did, her eyes locked with his instantly, both of them staring in both relief and shock. "I-Izuku?!" She screamed at seeing his condition and to the girl holding a knife to him.
"Momo, get back now!" Izuku yelled out, forcing her to turn back in terror to see the nomu charging right at her.
"NO!" Izuku screamed out in horror as he watched her form a shield to block it's incoming fist and launch her back, his blood boiling in fury as she bounced back on the dirt. In that moment, he felt like his body was on fire, his power acting on it's own as he dug his feet into the dirt and burst forward throwing Toga off instantly. He launched through the air and spun as he brought his feet forward. "Smash!"
The loud crack of Midoriya's drop kick into the nomu's chest rang through the area, forcing the creature stumbling back and away from Momo as he landed on the ground in front of her. Her mouth trembled as she stared at his broken body, blood falling down his shattered arms yet he still refused to leave her. "Izuku…" she muttered out and tried standing up, but felt her body collapse underneath the strain.
"Momo, stay back." Izuku told her as he charged up One for All, glaring at the nomu standing up once more."You aren't going to touch her!"
Passing through the trees, Kendo coughed as she came into the clearing. Was shocked to see Shoto combating against a blue fire wielder, but then noticed Katara laying on the ground behind the nomu. She looked and saw Momo on the ground, being protected by the green haired boy she remembered from the festival. "They can't get to her with that thing blocking them…" She huffed out, running out through the branches straight towards her friend. "If I can grab her and get her to the trees, they can-
Kendo gasped as a measuring tape slashed through the ground at her feet stopping her approach. She turned and jumped back as Twice stretched his strange weapon in front of himself. "Another student? Such a pain!"
Jumping away as he attacked again, Kendo winced at the pain shooting through her side as she evaded him and expanded her hands. "Who the hell is this?!" she said as she tried punching him to only have him casually evade her.
Crawling up from his spot, Compress shook his head as he looked up from the dirt. "Damn brats. Wasn't expecting that." he growled out as he looked to see even more students here now engaging with the others. "This is certainly not what we planned, although it seems they are out of their league."
Shoto was struggling to keep Dabi back, the blue flames ripping through his ice like it was nothing. Izuku was basically evading the nomu as it attacked him, doing his best to keep it from going towards Momo. And Kendo was far too injured to try and keep up with Twice's speed. As this was going on, Compress turned when he noticed the swirling black mist behind himself. "It seems our ride is here, everyone." he announced to the group.
As he dodged another slash from a chainsaw, Izuku caught sight of the bright yellow eyes in the mist, his mind screaming in shock as he remembered it from the USJ. "That's the warp guy from the villain attack!" he yelled out.
"You appear to be having trouble with these kids, Compress," Kurogiri stated as he materialized his portal. "I already gathered Magne and Spinner. It is time for us to leave."
It would appear so…" Compress chuckled as he stood up and walked towards the warp gate and brought his hand up. "...Especially since we have what we need."
as he snapped his fingers, Izuku yelped in shock as the marbles in his hand suddenly transformed into… large chunks of ice falling to the ground. "Wh-what?!" he gasped in disbelief as he watched the ice crumble to the ground. "What… what is this?!"
"Little decoys I made when I was behind that glacier earlier. As a magician, you always create a decoy to distract the audience." Compress reached up and removed the mask from his face, grinning as he opened his mouth to reveal the real marbles on the top of his tongue.
"No…" Izuku trembled as he realized they were tricked, having been fooled to go for fakes the whole time. He was in so much shock, he didn't even notice the nomu bringing it's fist back to strike.
"Izuku, look out!" Momo screamed out, causing him to look back just in time as the nomu swung forward. Bringing his leg up to block, Izuku avoided a direct hit, but the power was still too much for his weakened state launching him across the clearing and into a thick tree trunk making Momo cry in terror. "IZUKU!"
"Shit!" Kendo yelled as she watched Midoriya thrown across the area, but was forced to keep her eyes forward as Twice flipped over her and rushed forward. She tried punching him again, but he corkscrewed over her enlarged fist and kicked her right in the ribs making her buckle over in pain.
"Never take your eyes off your opponent…" Twice dropped into a bow before saluting. "Even when you bow. All about concentration!"
"Izuku!" Momo crawled over to his side as he struggled to stay conscious, tears forming in her eyes as she saw more blood dripping down his head. "Oh my god, no…" She reached down and lifted his head off the tree trunk, struggling to keep her composure seeing him so hurt.
"K-kachaan…." He cried out in fury, "They s-still have Kachaan and Tokoyami!"
Momo felt her heart ache as he still refused to stop trying to help the others, turning in fear expecting the nomu to be there once more. Instead of attacking however, she was shocked to see it turn and walk away towards the large man knocked out on the dirt. "What is it…?" she asked in confusion.
"It's time for us to go. We have what we need." Compress spit the marbles into his palm and smiled. Twice quickly ran and dove head first through the portal, while Toga skipped over before winking towards the injured Midoriya across the clearing and joining him. Before he walked through however, Compress covered his eyes to the bright flames igniting the area, frowning to what he saw, "What the hell is he doing?"
While the other villains had all left their opponents to head through the warp gate, Dabi was still engaged to the side with Shoto, chuckling as he watched the young Todoroki struggle to keep the flames back. "What's wrong? You don't want to use your fathers quirk? Aren't you the perfect hero he created?!"
Shoto grimaced at the taunts Dabi was throwing at him. For some reason, he felt a strange feeling in his gut like this man actually knew his father, in fact even calling himself by his given name. But he couldn't think much about that, slamming his hand into the ground unleashing a thick blast of ice forward, growling out as he tried to push Dabi away from Katara. Once again however, the blue flames ripped through his ice and nearly scorched him, creating one last barrier to keep it from reaching Katara… something Dabi took note of.
"You seem desperate to keep your friend safe. Wouldn't it be easier if you just focused on me instead?" Dabi snickered, earning a harsh glare from Shoto.
"I don't care what you try to do to me, but you will not touch her! I will kill you if you even think about trying to hurt her!"
Dabi was taken aback by the tone in Shoto's voice, not expecting the once brooding star of the sports festival to suddenly show so much emotion. He could tell from the look in Shoto's eyes that he was not just fighting for a friend, but someone truly special to himself. It took a moment, but Dabi couldn't help but let his mouth fall open in shock before a massive grin spread across his face. This was something even he had not expected, but it made his plans even that much more pleasurable as he began laughing to himself.
Shoto had fallen for this girl.
"Oh my… this is just wonderful." Dabi ran his hand through his black hair as he stared at Shoto. "To think this is what I found out."
"What the hell are you talking about?" Shoto huffed out between ragged pants.
Dabi smirked as he signaled the nomu to return, ordering it to retrieve the knocked out Muscular and take him to the portal as well. He himself didn't move however, keeping his gaze fixed on the fire and ice user. Momo realized they were all leaving, and if they escaped with their classmates, they maybe were never going to find them again. She had to think of some way to follow them. She looked over saw that the creature was now blindly following orders, not even looking around at anything else. She also saw everyone else was focused on the two still fighting, meaning she had no other time but now.
"I have to do something…" She gritted out through her pain, hobbling back to her feet and stumbling after the nomu. Her closed hand glowed as she created the single thing that could help find these villains. 'If… if it is distracted, then it shouldn't feel this!' she screamed internally and quickly rthrew the item towards Kendo, the coughing teen laying next to the creature. She heard the item bounce near her head, looking over in confusion before her eyes widened at the small red light flashing on it. She immediately knew what it was as she looked over to Momo nodding towards her, reachng out and grabbing it.
Forcing herself up, Kendo gritted her teeth and quickly hobbled over and shoved the small metal item into one of the many holes on the creatures side from Katara's ice spikes from earlier, pushing it into the open wound and deep into it's flesh. Jumping back in fear, she felt like passing out in relief as the creature didn't even look her way before feeling her head grow dizzy and collapsing.
While the two teens were completing their task, Dabi was so infatuated with his discovery he couldn't look away. "To think I was just grabbing Endeavor's kid and his mysterious intern was already good, but to learn his son has feelings for her?"
Shoto's heart skipped at the accusation, feeling his breath quicken.
"Dabi, come on! We have what we need, let us go!" Compress called out as the nomu dragged Muscular through the portal, but the vanguard leader refused to move from his spot. "Damn it, what is he thinking?!"
"I realize now that I don't need to capture you," Dabi licked his lips and charged up the fire in his right hand. "I just need that little water girl to come with me now."
Feeling his blood burn, Shoto ground his teeth in anger as he stepped forward. "I told you you are not going to touch her."
"And how do you plan to stop me? With that ice of yours? Everyone knows you have another half that you can use. If you want to save your little girlfriend, you better come at me with that before she dies!"
That was the final breaking point for Shoto, not thinking about the risk of burning the forest any longer. He couldn't recall the last time he felt this much anger at once, letting his left side take hold and igniting in a blazing fire. His fist became enshrouded in flames and he stepped forward. "You will not say another thing about her."
Smiling, Dabi let the fire in his hand grow bigger and brighter, ignoring the burning sensation in his arm. "Go ahead and try and stop me. That girl is mine now. I will take good care of her."
"Shut up…" Shoto growled out, his shirt burning slightly from the fire's intense temperature.
"Damn it, Dabi forget about them! We are leaving!" Compress yelled.
Ignoring his teammates call, Dabi charged forward bringing his fist back. "It will be so much fun having her join us! We will make sure she gets exactly what she deserves!"
Shoto only saw red as he ran forward, the fire on his hand erupting out and illuminating the entire area. "I said you will not hurt her, damn it!"
"RAHHHH!"
Both combatants collided their attacks in a blinding flash of light, blue and red flames burst outward engulfing close to half of the clearing. The others shielded their eyes from the intense heat exploding out from the epicenter of the clash. Treetops caught fire as the opposing flames battled for supremacy, with Shoto's red flames slowly losing the struggle and being pushed back. Shoto's face sweated in both strain and fury, while Dabi simply grinned wider at the sight.
"Just know that when you see what happened to her, it's because you were too weak to save her!" Dabi yelled and pushed out his max output, the blue flames doubling in size and swallowing Shoto's instantly. Screaming out in pain, Shoto couldn't stop the flames racing up his arms and burning his skin, the force throwing him backwards onto the dirt. He reached down and gripped the charred skin on his forearm, trying to crawl back up to stop him. When he did though, he felt his blood run cold when Dabi was already on the ground, his scarred hand wrapped around Katara's throat.
"Get your hands off her!" Shoto screamed out in anger, but his face quickly turned to fear as Dabi tightened his grip on her neck.
"I think you should just lay there now," Dabi warned as he lifted her unconscious form off the ground and held his free hand in front of her face. "I have trouble controlling my quirk at this range. She may end up with more than just a scar."
He wanted to rush over there and break her free from his grip, but Shoto knew if he tried anything now… it meant her life was now at risk. He couldn't overpower him, and he certainly couldn't get there in time. He could only fall to his knees in helplessness staring up at Dabi. "No… please don't." Shoto pleaded.
"Katara…" Momo whispered in fear as she watched Katara hanging limp in his hand.
Smiling seeing he had won, Dabi chuckled as he looked around to the others in the clearing, all of them not willing to risk their friends safety in this situation. "That's more like it."
"What the hell, Dabi?! We have to go before the pros all arrive!"Compress warned as Dabi carried the waterbender towards the portal.
"Shut up. I am the leader of this group and decide when we leave." Dabi sneered as he approached.
"Leader? You went against the plan and almost cost the mission! This girl isn't even our target!"
"She is my target." Dabi glanced down at the girl hanging in his grasp, chuckling as he wiped some of the blood from her face across her cheek, causing Shoto's fury to rise.
"You bastard!" He cursed out and stood up, only to freeze in his spot as Dabi's free hand ignited.
"Ah ah… don't get too eager." Dabi taunted as the flames flickered in front of her face.
"Katara!" Izuku coughed out as he forced himself up. "T-Tokoyami, Kachaan!"
Kendo coughed and felt her bodies pain overriding her motor skills, the helpless feeling in her heart growing stronger. "Is there nothing we can do?"
Dabi held out Katara as a prize to the others to see, taunting them one last time before walking backwards into the portal. "Too bad you never got to be with her longer, Shoto. Now you have to live with-
"Recipro burst!"
Everyone gasped in shock as the blue blur of Tenya's legs shot himself through the clearing and slamming his leg right into Dabi's unsuspecting head and forcing him to drop Katara from his grasp. Before Compress could even register what had happened, Tenya spun around and slammed his foot directly into the magician's face knocking him out cold.
"Get your damn hands off of her!" Tenya yelled out in fury.
"Iida?!" Momo screamed in disbelief as Tenya quickly dropped down and scooped Katara in his arms and burst away from the warp gate, only to look back in shock at the blue flames erurpting from the enraged Dabi.
"You fucking bastard!" Dabi roared out and shot forth a stream of fire after the speedster student, furious his prize had gotten away. Before it could reach them, Shoto's fire burst out and stifled his attack. "Damn you…."
"You will not come near her again!" Shoto screamed out in fury before turning to see Tenya laying Katara onto the ground.
"Katara! Katara!" Tenya screamed out in fear as he saw her limp form, the blood pouring out of her shoulder terrifying him. "Oh god, Katara, get up!"
Running to their side, Shoto dropped to the ground and felt his heart sink when he looked at her now. He didn't even care about his own injuries as he stared at her battered form, reaching down and gripping her hand. "Katara, you are safe now.
Glaring, Dabi prepared to go after them, but suddenly noticed the two marbles fall from compress's hand. The items were reverting back due to him losing consciousness, meaning they could escape. Biting his tongue in frustration, Dabi ignored his own plan and reached his hand out snatching the first figure by the neck as he reverted to normal, revealing itself to be a stunned Bakugo. "Don't even think about trying to flee."
The other small Marble reverted back to Tokoyami, the bird teen in shock to suddenly being free. Before he could move however, an arm shot through the portal encircling his neck while another hand held a knife to his face. He swallowed in fear as Toga's face poked through the mist smiling at him. "I wouldn't try and fly away if I were you. I have always wanted to see what a birdman tastes like." she whispered in his ear.
Dabi hissed in annoyance seeing his personal plan had been foiled, staring in anger at the students hovering over the waterbender. He however wasn't going to let the original mission fail, tightening his grip on Bakugo's neck and pulling backwards. "You may have saved your little water friend now, but soon you won't be able to keep her safe. But while you enjoy that victory, we will take our precious Bakugo with us." He then looked straight towards Shoto, the pair locking eyes before Dabi laughed out loud. "So long, Shoto. I'll be seeing you and your little girlfriend again."
While Katara had been saved, the others looked on in terror as their other classmates were held captive still. Izuku struggled to even sit up right as he looked on in helplessness as both Bakugo and Tokoyami were pulled into the mist. "Kachaan!"
Unable to move with the hand on his neck, Bakugo stared helplessly as he was slowly dragged into the mist. He stared right at Izuku's terrified face, unable to hide the fear on his own. 'Stay back… Deku.'
Soon the portal closed entirely, leaving the students alone as the trees burned around them. They had somehow managed to get through this attack themselves, but to call this a victory was not the case. Two classmates had been taken. They lost two people in front of them and couldn't stop the villains.
They had been defeated.
Notes: the forest battle has ended! wow this was a crazy one to write. now we have two characters captured! Muscular still in the league! and Dabi's plans starting to be revealed. hope to see your thoughts and reviews!
