Lauren
Lauren was downstairs and feeling so relaxed. She had been sent a surprise massage therapist by Bo. But she had no idea where the Succubus was. She didn't mind though. Bo would never leave her for too long, given their current conditions. The maids and butlers served her breakfast a little over an hour ago, and she was now stretched out on a plush lounge chair with a tall glass of milk in one hand, and a book in the other.
She dove back into her book once the staff had left her alone. She smiled at the quiet, and blushed when she felt her baby slightly kick. It didn't hurt but it was definitely a hard kick. She adjusted in her chair and laid her head back. She closed her eyes, and sighed.
When she moved again, her tongue was working inside of Bo's mouth.
"Bo? She jumped up.
"I'm sorry. You just looked so beautiful like this, I had to kiss you. You weren't quite snoring yet, so I knew I wasn't waking you up". Bo smiled wide.
"Where have you been? Lauren asked. Bo looked and reeked like she had been gone for hours.
"I went out and bought some of your favorite bagels. We were also running out of orange juice, so I picked up some of that too". Bo smiled as she handed the butler her bags.
Lauren laughed a little. "Don't let Aife hear that you have been lifting heavy bags. You really shouldn't be though".
"No worries my love. I pushed this inside, and only handed him the bag after taking it out of the basket". Bo smiled as she knelt down beside Lauren.
"What are you doing now? Lauren laughed.
"I have some news for you! Bo smiled wider than Lauren had ever seen her smile.
"And that would be? Lauren asked.
"Well while you were sleeping, I was up all night studying. Once morning struck, I showered and went into town. Mom pulled some strings, and boom". Bo smiled dropping an envelope in Lauren's lap.
"What is this? Lauren gently opened the envelope and gasped at what she saw. "Bo! This is your diploma! Lauren screamed and cringed when her excitement stirred the baby.
"I'm officially a high school graduate. Well I have my GED". Bo smiled.
"Why didn't you tell me? I would have celebrated with you! Lauren playfully slapped Bo's arm.
"I did it so there wouldn't be anything getting in the way of our pregnancies. We are going to celebrate, loud and proud once they have been born. Mom is already signed up to babysit so that we can". Bo smiled rubbing Lauren's stomach.
"Well at least let me make you something to eat in celebration?! Lauren laughed as Bo helped her stand.
"Of course. Let's go". Bo smiled as she held the Doctor's hand. She felt a touch of guilt for not including Lauren in her plans. But she wanted to surprise her. She wanted to be somewhat equally as smart as Lauren. She didn't feel dumb. Her succubus certainly didn't. So why had she held herself back for so long? Why hadn't she finished school sooner? She shook those thoughts away when they entered their dining room.
Lauren gasped as she stood in the doorway with Bo standing behind her.
"I had this done too. No cooking for you sweetie". Bo smiled as she kissed the back of Lauren's head.
The women walked over to the table. The cooks pulled out their chairs for them, respectively.
"I love you Bo! Lauren smiled once they were alone.
"I love you too. Now feed my baby! Bo laughed as she stabbed a pancake. It was more like brunch it was so late in the morning. But who cares? They had nowhere to be. Lauren needed to stay occupied inside so she wouldn't nose around and see what Bo had going on outside. The Succubus internally screamed with glee anticipating Lauren's own glee when she sees the half lab, half greenhouse being built for her. It was a good idea because with twins on the way, there was no way Lauren was ever going to want to go into any clinic or hospital. Bo had read up on after births while she was studying. Sleepless nights. Bottles and bottles of baby foods and milk. Truck loads of diapers. And she smiled at all of it.
She is having Lauren's baby and Lauren is having hers. They are literally going to be raising mini Succubus and a witch combined. Bo wondered how she would be with babies. She only held one once and that was in Hecuba prison. Would she sense something is wrong like Aife told her she would. Would she be able to help? Make the baby laugh instead of crying?
"Bo your food is going to get cold". Lauren smiled from across the table.
"Huh? Oh right. Sorry". Bo blushed as she started to eat again.
"You took one bite and stopped after that. So, I was worried." Lauren smiled.
"I was just thinking about being a mother. If I am going to be good enough. Know enough. Sense something is wrong." Bo took a few big bites and chewed as she watched Lauren.
"I know you will, and I also know you have been reading up on it. I was reading the same book just before you came home". Lauren said.
"The darkness Lauren". Bo said worriedly.
"She will be a mother too Bo. She wouldn't hurt them. We will teach them how to fight that in their own Succubus. Don't forget they will both likely be a witch too". Lauren said as gently as she could. Bo sounded down and she didn't want that. It was reminiscent of the time they talked about Kyle. Bo had such a innocence about her then, as she does right now.
"Okay. I'm sorry I dimmed our celebration". Bo frowned.
"Don't be sorry. It's still a happy occasion because we were talking about the babies, right? Lauren smiled.
"Of course. Let's eat and then see what else we can get into". Bo laughed.
Aife, Albert and Stephen.
"So, are we content about this now? Aife asked.
"I am. I am not sure about Stephen". Albert stared at his grandson. He hadn't said much within the last few minutes.
"So, dad was half-Fae due to mom's experiments? Stephen said out loud, so that he would understand.
"That's right son. Which means, it doesn't really change anything." Albert took a seat next to the Succubus.
"Okay. Sorry I just wanted to know what the hell mom did to him". Stephen moved to sit but changed his mind.
"She probably wanted to extend his life span. You can't fault her for that, and you shouldn't". Albert poured himself a glass of water and downed it.
"I still don't understand why she gave Lauren to grandfather. So what if she likes women, that was nothing to be ashamed of, nor discard her own daughter for". Stephen gently snapped.
"I gave up my daughter after she was born. It was a big deal to me. I couldn't allow her to grow up in this world, she wouldn't have survived, and her bastard father would have gotten his hands on her. Times were hard for the both of us. You might not like it, but she saved you. The both of you". Aife chimed in.
"I guess that will have to do since I can't ask what her true intentions were". Stephen finally took a seat and grabbed a cold beer.
"I know her intentions, she wanted to protect her children. I would do it all over again to protect my daughter". Aife said seriously.
"Your mother was a wonderful woman Stephen. Don't try and taint that with something you can only speculate on. Your lives weren't as shit as you are trying to make them out to be. Your sister doesn't need to know you are thinking this either. Not in her condition". Albert said with a hint of anger.
"He needs to fall in love or have children of his own. Then he will understand what sacrifice and love is". Aife laughed.
"Aife please". Albert said softly.
"Aife what? He can't be this dense. His mother was trying to have a long life with her human love and sent her daughter away so she would be safe. What the fuck he's not getting about that is beyond me". Aife laughed again.
"He'll learn at his own speed." Albert said softly.
"Well I'm going to make a few calls to check on how Isabeau's project is coming along. I can't be seen out there, it would ruin the surprise". Aife said as she stood.
"Let us know if we need to step in". Albert stood and walked her out.
Stephen kept his seat and Albert walked back to him.
"Why don't you get out and get some air son. Get some space between all of this. I know you are still angry with your mother, but she did what she thought best, and so did I. I didn't have to take your sister in, but I understood what your mother was doing. She was dealing with a lot of ignorance. Imagine her embarrassment had her Fae abilities been exposed. They likely would have tried to kill her and all of you on the spot. She did a good, adult thing". Albert spoke softly.
"I could use some air. I could work on the project but like Aife said, if either one of us are seen, Lauren might start asking questions." Stephen sighed and looked around the room.
"Go for a ride. The bikes are out back". Albert stood and walked into the kitchen. Stephen followed him and grabbed a helmet. He probably didn't need one, but it was a good disguise when he didn't want to be seen.
Albert made a few calls of his own. He wanted to help Bo in any way that he can to get the greenhouse and lab completed. Lauren is going to be thrilled, and he is already thrilled for her. He finished his calls and stared out the window wondering if there is more that he can do. Those expectant mothers are going to have their hands full, and he was trying to think of anything none of them had thought of yet. Now that Stephen and Aife were gone, he did think of a surprise of his own. He smiled and went to work.
Kenzi
The young woman groaned as she paced back and forth. She had been in this stinking office far too long already.
"Where is my lawyer?! She half screamed. A full scream might get her put in solitary again. She had only lasted an hour the last time before she came up with this idea.
The warden humored her and allowed her to have her say. She wanted to appeal her case and had requested a new lawyer. She had been left in the office alone for longer than she planned on being there.
"We have thought about your request, and you cannot appeal your case". The Warden said coldly.
"Why not? Kenzi asked.
"Because no lawyer wants to take your case. Too many of them know the Succubus. You committed some serious crimes, and you are to be sent back to your cell immediately". The Warden said as she returned to some paperwork on her desk.
Kenzi shook her head. She didn't have the strength to fight them because she had lost some weight. She had only eaten half the rat shit looking food they provided for her. She rarely drank the piss for water too. People knew her reputation. How Bo is letting her sit in prison for something she knows Kenzi does all the time is bullshit. She would have pawned that ring, eaten with the money, and found a way to get it back. No harm would have come to it.
They were probably eating steaks right now. Probably watching her favorite shows. She hadn't watched TV in forever and was starting to think it would either be out of style by the time she was released, or she would die in here. Could Bo really live with that one her conscience? She cringed thinking Bo allowed Dyson and Trick to die. Screw that. She would find a lawyer. One that doesn't know any of them.
Bo and Lauren
"Ahhh babe. This is such a good idea. The bubbles are kind of tickling me though". Bo laughed as they sat in a hot tub facing each other.
Lauren picked up one of Bo's feet and started to massage it. The Succubus moaned at the first touch. She didn't allow Lauren to be left out. She grabbed the Doctor's left foot and started to massage it.
They were to be brought anything that they asked for. But for right now, they only wanted each other's company. They had water, juice, crackers, and fruits nearby. But they were only hungry for each other. Given their conditions, Bo didn't even want to make love right now. She just wants to pamper Lauren.
How many times were they going to get like these once the twins have been born? She wondered what the water was doing to the babies. It was warm to Lauren's specifications.
"So, what are you going to do today Dr. Lewis? Besides sit here. There's still a lot of daylight left". Bo said sweetly.
"I was reading before you came home. I hadn't planned on doing too much today. That racket across the way is almost too much to bear". Lauren said pointing to Bo's surprise.
"Why don't we go for a nice long drive? We can put together a picnic basket and find an open space to eat later". Bo suggested.
"That does sound nice. Grandfather and Stephen will probably be doing boy things". Lauren squinted her eyes trying to remember if they said they were coming over. They would obviously call first unless they were trying to surprise them with something.
Before the Doctor knew it, Bo was out of the hot tub and extending her hand to the Doctor. They showered together, dressed and put together a sizeable picnic basket. Bo made sure to grab extra bottles of juice.
They checked over everything once more, alerted the staff that they were leaving and took one of the newer Mustangs parked in the garage.
"Let me know if it gets too warm in here". Bo said gently as she pulled out of the driveway.
"I'm fine". Lauren smiled as she kissed Bo's free hand. She wished the weather was nicer so that they could drop the top. But it was nice on the inside, so she was content. They drove around the country and into the city. They stayed away from the compounds, and bars they used to frequent. This day was going to be about them.
Lauren smiled thinking of the new graduate sitting beside her. Bo had done it all on her own. Long nights studying. Even subjects she loathed. She moaned holding Bo's hand. After everything they had gone through, this is where they are now. Happy. Expecting. Trying to be better. Trying new things. Bo had always seemed like the pizza type. They had rarely eaten actual meals. They had never even gone on dates before all of this happened. Everything was either because they Fae brought them together or because they were sleeping together.
She snuggled up next to Bo as the Succubus made her next turn.
"You're not getting sleepy are you? Is the baby making you feel tired? Do I need to pull over? Bo rambled off.
Lauren smiled. "No. I'm fine but we should eat some food soon".
"Okay. Let me just find our spot, and we can spread the blanket out and eat". Bo smiled as she sped up and finally parked.
Bo helped Lauren sit after everything had been placed on the blanket, and the Doctor gently pulled Bo down to sit.
"So, what do you want to do now? Lauren asked.
"I don't know. I know I wanted to get my diploma before the kids are born. Now that I have it, I am not sure what I want to do with it or do next. Private Investigating is out. I don't want to be away on some bullshit when my family might need me." Bo said honestly.
"I hate that for you. I know you will never be happy not doing anything. But I agree about the PI business. Same with me as a Doctor but in my situation, I can always use my witch or tell them to find another Doctor". Lauren stabbed her salad and waited for Bo to speak again.
"It's all I have known to do for so long. Help people. Firefighter? No. Cop? No. PI? No. I'm just up in the air right now". Bo said seriously.
"There's no rush for you to decide right now. Whatever you choose to do, I will support you. You would be a very hot secretary somewhere". Lauren winked.
"I don't type. But thank you". Bo laughed.
"Okay, what about a housewife? Lauren blurted out and froze.
"Umm what? What did you say? Bo laughed.
"Well that's just..that's just the term for a stay home mom." Lauren cleared her throat and shoved a lot of food into her mouth.
"That's a good idea. But can we wait on that a bit? Bo teased.
Lauren nodded and Bo laughed again. Lauren was absolutely adorable right now and Bo's heart jumped a few times. They are practically married as it is. She is not a scientist like Lauren, but she could probably guess the babies had mated them already. But marriage? She needed a cold drink just thinking of the word.
"So, about my work..". Bo laughed to break the ice. She laughed harder when Lauren stuffed her mouth again.
Afterwards they laid on the blanket and waited for the sun to set. They held hands and snuggled as closely as their stomachs would allow them to.
Bo checked the time and her phone to make sure her mother hadn't called. Lauren did the same with her phone.
"I know what you really meant earlier. I will marry you someday Lauren Lewis". Bo sobbed as she kissed the top of Lauren's head.
"And I would accept your ring too, Bo Dennis". Lauren smiled as she kissed Bo's ring finger. "Shit! Lauren screamed.
"That's it. I'm taking you to the nearest hospital! Bo got up as quickly as she could. Grabbed their phones and left the food and blanket.
Bo paced back and forth waiting for Aife to answer her phone. "Mom! Lauren's in pain. I rushed her to the hospital. How soon can you get here?
"I'll be right there sweetie! Text me the address! Aife said as she grabbed Albert and they jumped into her car.
"Excuse me. I'm the one that brought Lauren Lewis in. Can you give me an update? Bo asked worriedly.
"She's…ma'am? The Nurse said as she watched Bo collapse. "I need a gurney over here, and page Dr. Jackson now! The Nurse screamed.
Bo was awake again in a matter of minutes.
"Lauren? Lauren Lewis? Bo grumbled.
"She just went into labor, and it is far too soon. Are you the next of kin? The nurse asked.
"Yeah I'm...she has a grandfather and brother. They should be on their way here! Bo sobbed.
"Well you seem like family enough for me. Follow me. We need to get you into some scrubs". The nurse said.
