Lauren laughed. "I warned you against that".
Bo gagged again. She puked her guts out after remembering what had just happened. She had been playing with the babies. She held up both babies in her hands as she lay on the floor. Kara puked down on Bo and the Succubus shrieked as her face and hair was soaked with baby formula. Now the Succubus stood in the bathroom mirror washing her face over and over again. It would not be so bad had some of it not gone into her mouth. Mouthwash was failing to rid her mouth of the taste.
Lauren walked up behind Bo with a fresh towel and blotted her freshly shampooed hair.
"Thanks". Bo lifted her head and made eye contact with Lauren. She could tell the Doctor was about to laugh again.
"I'm sorry Bo. The vomit was not why I laughed. Your screams made it funny." Lauren gently smiled as she walked away from the Succubus.
"That stuff is disgusting. Being a woman of Science, you should find something better to serve our babies". Bo shivered at the thought again.
"Well we can breast feed them, if that sounds better to you". Lauren spoke over her shoulder.
"Ha ha Doctor, that sounds painful". Bo replied as she finally walked out of the bathroom. She smiled at the scents that Lauren had released with candles. The fireplace looked wonderful and relaxing as Bo walked over and sat on the loveseat in front of it. Lauren walked up behind her and kissed the top of her head. She rounded in front of her and handed her a large glass of water.
Bo patted the seat next to her, and Lauren accepted the offer as she sat in front of Bo.
"Do you think they will sleep the rest of the night? Bo asked.
"They should, if you stay out of their room". Lauren smiled as she kissed Bo's hand.
"Now, now Doctor. Two babies at a time." Bo gasped.
"I wasn't going to do more than kiss your hand". Lauren swung Bo's hand in the air and pulled her arm around her. She let go and took a drink of her own. The women stared at the fire. Both lost in thought. They are mothers now. Nothing else matters. No Fae. Nothing.
Bo wiped her eyes. She had cried since Isadora was born. Every bit of their experience was making her teary-eyed. They look like Lauren. They smell like Lauren. They are hers and Lauren's. Lauren will probably be a natural at being a mother because she is a Doctor. If they got too hot, Bo would panic. If they got too cold, Bo would panic. They are going to be great parents. Lauren is going to teach Bo everything she needs to know.
"They are two of you. I think I can stay out of there and stick to the original". Bo whispered as they readjusted their positions.
"I hope they are not like me. Well not as much like me". Lauren said quietly.
"What do you mean? Bo asked.
"A Doctor. They will ask me thousands of questions. Probably all within sixty seconds". Lauren smiled.
"Aww now that would be cute, and video worthy". Bo smiled against Lauren's cheek.
"I know. We are going to be busy Bo. Really busy". Lauren rubbed her eyes.
"Hey if you are tired, we can go to bed". Bo pushed up so Lauren would rise up too.
"I am a little bit". Lauren admitted.
"Do you need to feed babe? Bo asked.
"Probably a little bit". Lauren stood and Bo immediately stood up behind her.
"Come on. Once we get you fed, you can go to sleep". Bo spoke softly pulling the woman to their bed. She fed Lauren and pulled giant blankets over the both of them. Lauren cuddled up to Bo and closed her eyes. "Good night".
"Good night Bo". Lauren mumbled.
Bo frowned at the sight and sound. Lauren's too powerful to be ill, so she will have to pay more attention to the woman. She will tell her grandfather and brother to keep them in the loop. But that would not be unless Lauren's mood lasted more than a few days.
She closed her own eyes and fell asleep quickly. Motherhood and being with Lauren is an instant sleeping pill to the Succubus. Bo smiled as baby sounds came through the baby monitor. They would probably play themselves to sleep.
Aife
The old Succubus could not sleep as easily as Bo and Lauren. The twins birth had her roused for hours. She is a grandmother now. Those are Succubus with witch powers. Her teeth smiled before her mouth did. She has so much to teach them. But given who they are, they probably have a lot to teach grandmother too. If they would be teenagers by morning, that would be perfect in Aife's mind. She could see if they were going to raise hell in the Fae world. But she had to curb those thoughts. Bo has to raise her children like she wants to. But damned if Grandma was not ready to see them kick ass already.
"All in good time. All in good time". Aife laughed as she walked away from the window.
The next morning.
Stephen and Albert were up early. They had snuck over to Bo's and were waiting in Stephen's truck for some sign that Bo and Lauren were up already.
"I'm an uncle now". Stephen kept mumbling over and over.
"You're an uncle now. I am a great-grandfather". Albert smiled as he drank a cup of coffee.
"Do you think they will ever have boys? Stephen asked.
"Your mother did". Albert laughed.
"Right". Stephen laughed in embarrassment. "Hey, I could always look".
"Don't. Leave the surprises where they are, in the future". Albert turned to his grandson and then back to looking out the window.
Stephen looked at the time. It was nearing ten o'clock. Lauren never slept later than 6, on a good day. The girls will likely be hungry or wet soon. So, they should see some kind of movement that will tell them that it is okay to go up and ring the doorbell. They have keys but with all women in the house, they would be men and wait.
It took over an hour before they saw someone walking in the house. They could not tell if it was just Aife or the mothers.
"Good enough". Albert smiled as he opened the passenger door and climbed out.
They walked up and knocked on the door. They did not have to wait long before Aife appeared.
"You look like shit old girl". Albert smiled.
"I was up all night. Just as anxious as the two of you are this early in the morning". Aife laughed.
"Is everyone up? Stephen looked around.
"As far as I know. Bo just got into the shower, so Lauren is the mother on duty". Aife smiled.
"Well let's see what we can do about breakfast boy". Albert pulled Stephen towards the kitchen.
"Men are going to cook breakfast? This I got to see". Aife laughed as she patted Albert on his back.
"They have a staff right? Stephen asked.
"They do but Lauren gave them some time off. They want to be hands on, with everything. But if you want to fix all of us breakfast, I am sure the Doctor won't mind". Aife said seriously.
"No, she doesn't mind". Lauren walked into the kitchen and straight to the coffee pot.
"Good morning sweetie". Albert side hugged her before turning back to the food.
"Good morning Grandfather, and Stephen". Lauren half smiled.
"Tired already huh? Girl just wait". Aife laughed.
"You have no idea". Lauren turned around to face the three of them.
"Lauren? Don't you feel well? Stephen asked.
"I guess I'm just a little down". Lauren walked over to the table to sit at Albert's insistence.
"What's wrong sweetie? You know you can tell us". Aife sat next to Lauren.
"She's been like that since last night". Bo emerged behind them.
"What? And you did not call us? Stephen gritted his teeth.
"Not now Stephen. We know Lauren is important to Bo". Albert pulled him backwards.
"It was late, and I had hoped Lauren would sleep this off after she fed". Bo answered as she took the other seat next to Lauren.
"What is it Lauren? What is wrong? Aife asked worriedly. Bo was shocked at how sincere her mother's voice was, but they had all spent a lot of time together.
"It's just a dreaded feeling in the pit of my stomach. Things are too good right now. It scares me, a bit". Lauren swallowed the lump in her throat. It was not like her to show fear over anything. But she is a mother now, she has to be on top of everything.
"Lauren…". Albert stepped forward.
"This is on me grandfather". Stephen gently stepped in front of the old Fae.
Bo looked up at Stephen and watched Aife give up her seat to him. He gently sat down next Lauren and spoke.
"Lauren I know I am probably the reason you are afraid. I misread something and it hurt you and Bo. For that I will be eternally sorry. But I am over that now. I am an Uncle now. Trust me when I tell you nothing bad is coming. I know I should stay out of your futures but from what I assessed just now, there is nothing bad going to happen to any of us. Those girls are related to all of us, their births made all of us, one big family. We have to be there for each other. I will be there for you, Bo, Aife and grandfather. There is nothing or nobody coming for us or them. They are yours, and Bo's. They are all of ours. We love you and Bo. Let us help you". Stephen gently patted his sister's hand. Lauren means the world to him. She always has as Karen or Lauren.
"He means it Lauren. His aura is sincere". Bo leaned towards the doctor and rubbed her back.
Lauren nodded and took a drink of water that Albert had handed her. The five sat and stood there in the quiet until Lauren stood up.
"We eat and go from there". Bo gestured towards Albert and Stephen.
The men turned back to the kitchen and focused on their work. Lauren walked over to pour herself a cup of coffee and took a seat again. She was a bit embarrassed at the tone she had just set in the house.
"We're a family Lauren. Trust that". Aife said over the Doctor's shoulder. Bo put some music on to liven up the place. She walked upstairs and returned with Kara and Isadora. They laughed and kicked as they were carried. The sound perked Lauren up as she turned to take one of them from Bo.
Bo smiled at how warm the babies were. She already missed holding Isadora after Lauren took her. "Do you need to hold Kara too? She asked softly.
"I'm better now. I am so, so sorry about that Bo, and all of you". Lauren turned around.
"Whatever you need Lauren, we'll always be here to support you". Aife watched the mothers walk the babies.
"Big baby". Bo smiled as she rocked Kara in her arms. Lauren watched them and felt Isadora kick in her arms. She laughed and laughed, and Lauren knew it was a way to talk to her sister.
"I think they want to play". Bo whispered as she nodded for Aife to put the baby blanket down into the playpen. The mothers bent down and put the kids inside. They stood back and watched them laugh at each other.
"They have grown so much already". Aife popped her lips with pride.
"Breakfast is ready". Albert called the women to the kitchen.
"We'll still see them from the table". Bo noted as she walked away.
"When we are done, grandma will feed the girls". Aife could not help herself. She just has to have some time with them.
Lauren finished eating first but stayed at the table. It would be rude to get up and leave when everyone was so focused on her and making sure she had enough to eat. Ironic really considering she is a Succubus and a witch.
"I wonder what would happen if we got them two baby wands". Lauren bit her lip.
"That would be interesting! Stephen's eyes lit up.
"On it". Bo pulled her phone out to shop online.
"I could have gone in person". Stephen laughed.
"Okay". Bo smiled as she clicked out of the link she found.
Stephen nodded and went back to his food. He now had something important to do. Something Lauren wants done. Something he and Bo actually agreed on.
"It should be fun to watch, until they learn to talk. They might set something on fire". Aife shivered.
"They shouldn't know any spells anytime soon". Bo laughed.
"Lauren's daughters won't know how to cast a spell? Even at that age? Aife poked Bo in the side.
"Ok. Ok. Point taken". Bo put one finger in the air and dropped it.
"I still want them". Lauren shrugged.
"We'll get them sweetie. But we will also keep a close eye on them too". Bo smiled. This could be fun. The anticipation of watching two babies with Lauren's skills. "I'm starting to wonder what I can give them as a Succubus".
"You gave them your blood and your powers. That will be enough". Lauren smiled at the woman.
Albert stood watching all of them. He was the oldest in the room. But also, the proudest in the room. They are all coming together. The kids are still newborns but being Succubus babies, they may read aura's early too. So, the adults have to be all in.
"So, what do we do now? Aife looked around.
"Not much we can do. It is nippy out. We can play some pool or whatever". Bo looked out the window.
Lauren looked around too. It was nice looking out but cold like Bo said. What can you do with babies besides, change and feed them?
"Are we going to make an announcement? Aife asked.
"We don't need to. The Fae know their place". Bo spoke up quickly.
"Bo did want to go out before. Let's get them dressed warmly and go for a drive. It doesn't have to be a long one". Lauren suggested.
"Sure." Bo stood to help get the kids ready. Lauren layered them up good. Once everyone was ready, they all piled into two Hummers. They were not gone long as Lauren said. Once they were done, they all cleaned up for lunch. Kara and Isadora were bathed and fed too. Now they were all sitting around again. Everyone took turns holding the babies so they would get used to their great-grandfather, grandmother, uncle and mothers.
"You've come so far Isabeau. You should be proud of all of this". Aife spoke softly.
"I am. Thanks mom". Bo smiled as she made eyes at Isadora. She was so happy to have happy babies. They laughed at just about everything. Mostly Bo and Lauren though.
"We need to keep this going. Keep a close lookout at all times. Their kids mean something in this world." Aife spoke softly to Stephen and Albert.
"I got this Aife. I won't go as far into the future, but I will make sure nothing sneaks up on us, not even a surprise party". Stephen responded.
"You better have it. Because if you do not, they will get theirs". Aife pointed to Kara and Isadora.
The old Succubus dropped back and observed Lauren and Bo feeding the babies. They had quickly moved on from the baby formula. Lauren being Lauren, found something healthier than baby formula. Once she explained breast feeding to Bo, they kept away from that too.
"Bo? Lauren raised her head.
Bo shook her head no. She knew what Lauren was about to bring up and they had a happy day with all the immediate family around.
"I will drop it once we talk about it". Lauren said.
"Can you finish? Bo looked up at Stephen and Albert as they handed them off to them.
The women walked past Aife and rounded the corner for the stairs. They walked up and entered one of the empty bedrooms. Something they decided on when they thought their discussions could or would get heated.
"We have to talk about Kenzi, Bo". Lauren said.
"After what she has done, I don't trust her around my family. She might try and pawn one of the girls off to get money. I cannot do that Lauren. I can't take that risk". Bo shook her head.
"I am not saying you have to bring her here. I was not going to suggest that at all. I am only suggesting that you go see her. See how she is. You are one of the few of us that can read auras. Maybe she is remorseful. But if you get a bad read on her, then we will drop it. For good". Lauren stared into dark eyes. Gorgeous eyes.
"I will think about it. But that is all that I can promise you". Bo shrugged. She had not thought of Kenzi. After all the cons she had seen Kenzi pull off, she could not see herself handing one of her kids to the woman and taking her eyes off of her. Not even for a second.
"You will feel better no matter what you decide. I love you, no matter what that decision is". Lauren stepped to Bo and pulled her into her arms. The Succubus was warm in her arms. She felt like a giant Kara and Isadora to Lauren. That is why she is pushing for this. For Bo to get some peace of mind. If Kenzi can be good, Lauren is all for bringing her back into their lives. If she cannot be trustworthy, then she is right where she belongs. Locked far away from them.
"I'll go see her tomorrow. I am sure mom can pull some strings to get me right to her". Bo spoke softly.
"I don't want our kids growing up with instant enemies. Should Kenzi ever get out, she might be steamed at all of us". Lauren squeezed Bo and released her.
"I get it. Kenzi will get it too, before I walk out of there tomorrow". Bo smiled. She leaned in and kissed Lauren. They held each other again before they walked out to rejoin the family.
