Years in the past, but not many…

Cybr walks down the streets of Costa Brava, on one of his rare outdoor excursions. He's in a shady part of town, with no weapons on his person. The only tool he's carrying with him is a needle, but he's confident that this is all he needs to accomplish his objective. Soon enough, he arrives at his destination: an abandoned power plant, fenced off for the safety of the public. Of course, Cybr ignores the signs warning of voltage and danger, climbing the fence and hopping over the top. As he enters the bounds of the power plant, the sky seems to darken, as though this particular area is bathed in shadow. Cybr puts his hands in his pockets as he walks, eventually coming to a power box, which, upon further inspection, is actually a cleverly disguised entrance leading to a subterranean lair. Cybr slides open the hatch, and climbs down into the depths underneath. As he reaches the bottom of the ladder, the lights of the long, dead-end corridor at the bottom turn on, illuminating a figure at the end, and interwoven wires covering nearly every inch of the walls. The figure smiles at Cybr, adjusting the red necktie he's wearing, before speaking into an intercom.

"Well, well, well, you actually turned up. As promised, here I am, at the end of the hall, with no way out. So what are you waiting for? Come and get me!" Jo Bawling laughs, his Stand, The Mind Electric, hovering ominously behind him. Cybr says nothing in response, simply stepping forwards, his footsteps echoing down the hall as he approaches Jo. About a third of the way there, though, another set of lights come on, illuminating a massive chamber adjacent to the hallway, separated by a pane of glass. Within the chamber is a massive monitor, hooked up to an alarmingly elaborate series of contraptions. As Cybr looks at the monitor, it suddenly turns on with a blaring noise, startling Cybr. On the monitor is a man's face, grinning at Cybr.

"Oh, I forgot to mention. My friend Daazer wanted to see this whole thing go down. Hope you don't mind his presence." Jo says, and Cybr attempts to continue approaching him, but finds himself stopped by a sudden pain in his chest. Cybr clutches his chest and falls to his knees, as electricity courses through his body.

"YOU ARE THE ONE THEY CALL CYBR, YES? AHAHAHA! IT IS AN HONOR TO MEET YOU. I HAVE HEARD ONLY THE BEST THINGS! I HOPE YOU WEREN'T TOO...SHOCKED BY MY APPEARANCE!" Daazer speaks in a booming voice, and Cybr quickly flips down some of the lenses of his glasses, focusing just enough to get a scan off on Daazer. In doing so, he finds that he has been put under the effect of Daazer's Stand, Six Feet Thunder, which seems to be the source of his chest pain. Before Cybr can figure out more details, though, he notices something flying towards him, and ducks, barely avoiding being decapitated by a circular saw zooming through the hall.

"Honestly, I'm surprised you took the bait, Cybr. You really thought I would just sit here and let you kill me? Hell no! I just led you right into your own grave!" Jo snaps his fingers, and the lights in the hallway begin to cycle between colors in a disorienting manner. Cybr gets back to his feet, feeling his heart pounding in his chest, each pulse sending a jolt through his body.

"DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Daazer taunts, as flame jets begin to spew fire into the hallway around Cybr, swirling around erratically. Cybr's muscles tense up as more electricity flows through them, but he realizes that there must be some sort of trick to this all. This all seems more designed to keep him on edge than to actually kill him. Cybr closes his eyes and steadies his breathing, and sure enough, as his heart rate lowers, the electric jolts become weaker. A smirk crosses Cybr's face as he opens his eyes again, and begins to calmly walk towards Jo, who scoffs.

"So, you figured it out, huh? You're a smart guy. Of course, I knew you would figure it out eventually, so I had a backup plan ready. Daazer, let's give this guy everything we've got! Begin...the finale!"

"YOU WILL DIE." Daazer shouts, as the lights begin flickering and strobing. Several turrets lower from the ceiling, surrounding Cybr on all sides. Cybr drops to the floor as the turrets begin firing, and then rolls to the side just in time to avoid a row of spikes shooting up out of the floor. Feeling another shock go through his body, Cybr realizes he can't keep this up forever, especially not if he needs to keep his heart rate down the whole time. He needs to find some way to shut off Daazer, which would leave Jo defenseless. He flips down another set of lenses, looking around for a power source.

"Getting desperate, are we, Cybr? You've realized that even if you can dodge the traps, your own adrenaline will get you killed. It's a lose-lose for you!" Jo teases, casually leaning against the far wall. Cybr can't seem to find any sort of accessible means of attacking Daazer or its power source, as Daazer seems to be completely contained within its chamber. That's when it hits Cybr: the chamber! All he needs to do is gain access to it, and he'll be able to deal with Daazer! Cybr abruptly stands up again, running past the window as the turrets fire at him. The glass cracks as the bullets sail past Cybr, until it finally shatters completely, granting Cybr a passage through. Jo's eyes widen as Cybr dashes through the opening, using some cables on the wall to climb down to the bottom of Daazer's chamber.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, YOU PEST? GET OUT OF HERE!" Daazer shouts, but Cybr ignores it, his heart rate stabilizing now that he's out of immediate danger.

"I don't know what you were thinking, using a computer as your defense against me. You were basically asking to lose." Cybr says, as he climbs up more cables, leading directly to Daazer's monitor. Once he locates where the cables connect to Daazer, Cybr begins forcefully yanking them out one at a time, causing Daazer's screen to distort and glitch as he screams, until it finally shuts off. Cybr feels the electricity inside of his body stop, and sees the lights back in the hallway no longer strobing, so he rushes over, climbing back out of the chamber just in time to see Jo running down the hall, beginning to climb the ladder to return to the surface.

"Oh no, you don't!" Cybr yells, running after Jo. By the time Cybr reaches the ladder, Jo is already well on his way to the surface. Jo sneers as he looks down at Cybr.

"You're persistent, I'll give you that, but we'll see what you can do to me once I've sealed you down here forever!" Jo growls, kicking off one of his shoes to drop it onto Cybr's face. Cybr realizes that he has no chance of catching up to Jo at this point, so he looks around, and sees the wires on the walls. Cybr quickly grabs the nearest bundle of wires, and rips them off the wall, sending sparks everywhere and burning his hand in the process. Despite this, Cybr jabs the wires against the metal ladder, sending high voltage electricity through the whole thing. Jo yowls as the electricity reaches him, and he lets go of the ladder, flailing his arms around as he realizes his mistake. Jo tries to grab the ladder again, but fails to do so, and plummets to the ground, a loud crack being heard as he slams against the floor. Cybr shakes his head as he looks down at Jo.

"Didn't your parents ever teach you not to play with electricity?" Cybr asks mockingly, before jabbing Jo with the needle, infusing Jo's being with The Mind Electric, leaving behind only a small USB drive-like device with an antenna sticking out of it, containing the powers of Jo's Stand inside of it. Cybr picks this up, and then climbs out from the lair, leaving the power plant behind as he heads back to the World Crime League's headquarters.
