Lauren
Lauren sighed in relief when her shift was finally over. She scrubbed hard before heading home. She smiled at every stop light and sign. Home. She's going home to three people she's head over heels in love with. She smiled again thinking of Bo wanting to be an architect. That is definitely something she can do working at home. While the doctor herself doesn't know that field that well, she did ask around the office and got a few contact numbers. She will offer those numbers to Bo, if she wants the help. Last turn, she thought as she drove around a small bend and then hit their street. She glanced at the men's house and waved in case they were looking out the window. She turned her head back on the road and pulled into their driveway.
She jumped out and ran into the house. It was quiet. Good, Bo got the hang of it. She smiled as she went upstairs and found Dora in her crib. "Where is your sister?." Lauren cooed as she picked her up. She was warm and smelled like Bo. She turned and walked back downstairs. She walked around the corner and her heart dropped. Bo was asleep with Kara sleeping on half of her head. The doctor smiled and gently set Dora in their double playpen. She pulled out her phone and snapped a picture of Kara and Bo. She shushed Dora as she went into the kitchen to start dinner. Half an hour later she was done, and returned to the den to wake Bo and Kara up. "Bo". She laughed.
"Huh? Hey? What happened?". Bo asked as she pulled Kara off of her head.
"I was about to ask you that." Lauren laughed.
Bo popped her lips and took a drink of water from her bottled water. "Oh, right. Kara started crying and I went to get her so she wouldn't wake her sister. Then I brought her down here. I drew a little and that's how we wound up here."
"Well, it's time for dinner and then you can tell me the rest, if you want." Lauren reached her hand out to Bo.
"Hello, Lauren." Bo leaned in and kissed the blonde.
"Hello, Bo." Lauren winked and watched Bo set Kara down near Dora. "Be good this time." Bo laughed.
"I will feed them while you eat." Lauren bent over and picked both babies up.
"You don't have to. I can help." Bo reached for a baby. "Please, Bo. You've been with them all day." Lauren sighed.
"Okay. Okay." Bo smiled and backed off.
Lauren sat a baby on each leg and grabbed two spoonful's of food and fed them. "Damn, I mean dang." Bo laughed. "I will have to try that". Making faces at the babies.
"I can sit on your lap and you can practice by feeding me my dinner." Lauren smiled and laughed when Bo nearly choked on her food.
"Oh, I can do that." Bo blushed.
"But seriously, how were they today?." Lauren asked.
"Not too bad." Bo mouthed with her mouth full of food.
Lauren nodded and continued feeding the kids and then turned them both over her shoulder. Burp, burp. Bo laughed. "I see, mama Lauren, has all the tricks huh?."
"No, this is the first time I've tried this." The blonde cleaned the kids up and put them back in their pin. "Now, about my dinner." She slowly walked to the table.
"Now, Lauren. We already have two. Don't tempt me to make three with you right here and now." Bo wiped her brow with a napkin.
"What? I'm just walking slowly." Lauren held her laugh in. "Oh, by the way I found some architect contacts for you. If you want their numbers, i have them".
"I do but it is time for your dinner, doctor." Bo patted her lap and the doctor carried her plate over. "So, what's first? Meat. Potatoes? Broccoli? All three?." The brunette asked.
"Meat." Lauren nodded. Bo shuddered and felt like someone was tickling her. The fork shook in her hand as she lifted it to the blonde's mouth. Her legs jerked when the doctor moaned after the first bite. "Lauren." She sighed.
"Okay. I will only eat." Lauren wiped her mouth with a napkin and accepted the next bite.
"Wait. I'm supposed to have two sets of utensils". Bo reached for a second fork and dangled potatoes and broccoli on them. Bite after bite, Lauren ate her dinner. Bite after bite the doctor felt like dinner to Bo, as she sat on her lap. "All done." Bo smiled. "Now, get off me please. I need some ice water."
Lauren nodded, stood and grabbed a baby monitor. She walked towards the den and opened the door. She paced around the room looking at the pictures on the wall. But never at Bo's work. She wanted to save that moment for Bo to show her what she came up with since they hung up their phones.
"Okay. Here's what I've come up with so far." Bo cooed as she pulled a folder open.
"Wow, Bo! This is really good!." Lauren felt like she couldn't catch a breath. She was that impressed with Bo's sketches.
"I hope that lot is still empty. I will have to find the property owner and see what he or she thinks. The kids and I are going driving tomorrow to look for other empty lots and wide open fields." Bo looked down at her work.
"Hey, tomorrow is Saturday, I can go with you." Lauren nudged Bo.
"It's your day off, babe. You can rest or try to." Bo shook her head.
"It should be your day off too. Our day off as a family. Besides, whatever you design and get built, I know a blonde that will want to make an investment. So, I should see what I'm getting for my money." Lauren pulled Bo into her arms.
"That's sweet, babe. But do you really want to do that? It could all fail before it starts." Bo whispered.
"Shut up, Bo. Stop trying to doom yourself before you even get started. You can do this and you will be successful at it. I used to feel that way all through med school. But I kept pushing myself. I will push you, should you need me to." Lauren gently squeezed the woman and kissed the back of her head.
"Okay. I will be successful. For my family. I will try harder to believe that." Bo squeezed Lauren back.
"These are really, really good, Bo. I wouldn't say they are if they weren't." Lauren stepped away from her.
"Thank you. Thank you so much, Lauren." Bo turned around to the woman.
"You don't have to thank me, Bo." Lauren smiled. "It is never necessary."
"Yes. Yes I do. I should have thanked you years ago. That time in the lab when you said I might enjoy being Fae. I was still new to this world but you believed in me. That's probably why your injections helped me to sleep with and heal with people without killing them. It wasn't just your science, it was your confidence in me. That's when I knew you had a right to be free. They never deserved such a kind and considerate woman in their service. I love you. I love you for everything that you've done for me, everything that you've given me. Especially our relationship and family. You had every right to say fuck the Fae and walk away after what we learned about your family, mine and that shaman. I am so happy that you stayed but more importantly stayed with me." Bo was in tears and the doctor walked over and held her until they both stopped crying.
"You did as much if not the exact same thing for me." Lauren squeezed the woman hard and let go.
"Come on. We have a family to play with before this set grows up and moves out." Bo wiped her eyes and grabbed Lauren's hand.
They walked out and grabbed a baby. Once they found some cartoons on tv, they settled on the couch.
Aife, Albert and Stephen.
"How has the little shit been behaving herself?." Aife asked. Bo might be over that shit. But this is about the Queen. Someone robbing her family is just as insulting as if they took something from her tomb. Aife has that sacred ground guarded twenty-four seven.
"She's a mail courier. She's been pretty much trying to keep her nose clean." Stephen answered.
"I'm still the Queen of Berlin. I have responsibilities there to tend to or I can handle my business over the phone. My family comes first, but man, I'm hurting not to be kicking some ass right now." Aife laughed.
"We can go out." Albert suggested.
"Let me make a few calls, first." Aife walked away from the men.
"Man, she really loves them to stay here." Stephen watched the succubus walk away.
"It's part of not being there when Bo was a baby and growing up. But yes, she loves all of them so much." Albert took a seat.
"I could focus my powers there or go there and use them to look ahead to see what will happen. That will help her." Stephen suggested.
"You will have to ask Aife first. She will fry your balls first and ask questions later, if you don't ask her first" Albert waved for him to sit.
"This would help her. It helps Bo and Lauren to have a fully old succubus help them raise the girls." Stephen tried to whisper.
"Old, who are you calling old?." Aife laughed as she returned.
"Highly experienced. How's that?." Stephen asked. Albert shook with laughter.
"Better, but why were you talking about me?." Aife sat next to Albert.
"As important as Bo, Lauren and the girls are, you can't be two places at once. I was suggesting to my grandfather that I can go to Berlin and use my powers to see what will happen in the future, that way you could stave off bullshit." Stephen explained.
"Aww. That's so thoughtful. But no. Lauren needs her brother here. I won't take you away from her. Not after you guys were apart for so long. Besides, I was just brought up to speed on it, and have ordered steps to be taken to resolve every issue." The succubus set her phone down.
"That offer will always stand, should you need it." Stephen gently shrugged.
"I'm Queen Aife. Those fuckers fear my piss. They will behave." The woman laughed.
"Come on. Let's get out and get some air." Albert stood and the two followed him out the door.
Local bar
The music was blasting and the drinks were flowing into fresh glasses. Kenzi sat at the bar and looked around. She felt like all of their eyes were on her but she had felt that way for the last two months. People would speak, look her up and down and move on. She wanted to blame it all on Aife but hell, some of these people could be Bo's enemies when she first learned she was Fae and pissed a lot of people off.
"Can I get you something?." The bartender asked.
"Double shot of Vodka unless you have a full bottle available." Kenzi replied.
"We don't sell full bottles but your double is on the way." The woman walked away.
"Since when does this bar not sell full bottles?." Kenzi rolled her eyes. That's smelling like the older succubus again. She gritted her teeth and took the shot before she said something in front of strangers that would and could reach the woman's ears.
"Slumming are we?." A male's voice was in her ear.
"Go away." Kenzi groaned.
"You come here and you're telling me to go away? Can't find a human bar that you haven't fleeced before?." Vex laughed as he took a seat.
"Look, I'm being good or trying to be. I got my feet burned by two Fae babies that I never met." Kenzi snapped.
"Ahh well. That explains why Aife and her crew haven't been out as much. But you really need to keep Bo's family secrets, secret." Vex was given a bottle of vodka and Kenzi wanted to scream.
"I'm part owner, they can't deny me anything." Vex toasted Kenzi.
"What are you doing here?." Kenzi asked.
"I had a meeting and spotted you sitting by yourself. Get out of a Dark Fae bar, Kenzi. Most of the clientele hates Bo. You might be on the outs with her, but they won't care." Vex comped Kenzi's drinks and hoped she listened to him. These people are so dark, they'd make Aife look like Mother Teresa.
"Ahhh, my people. What it do?." Aife laughed as she walked in.
"Shit. Too late." Vex took his seat again.
"Now Vex, I heard that." Aife was on him in seconds. "What are you doing with that little thief? She smiled.
"Aife? Why are you smiling? Did you find some old moonshine of the Blood King's?." Vex adjusted his jacket.
"I wish. But no. I have to smile. Even though I hate you two little bitches." Aife kept her smile.
"We need to learn a foreign language." Stephen smiled too.
"We will. Get these two out of my sight. Please and thank you." Aife waved for the bouncer.
"No need for that. I will take her out of here." Vex pulled Kenzi through the back doors.
"Don't sweat it, Aife. The girls will eventually turn one. Talkative and then we can explain how and why we do things to protect them and ourselves." Albert gently tapped Aife on the back.
"Lauren and Bo. Two powerful and smart Fae. We are fucked." Aife laughed and toasted her granddaughters.
"We will not curse them to stop their powers. We will not hide them among humans. Lauren deserves to raise her children to be Fae. Unlike we weren't brought up to be." Stephen looked around the bar. He wondered how many women in here are single but the old Succubus had warned him the women that come in here can be real bitches.
"OOo, if you want to date someone, let ole Aife find a good woman for you. I can read their auras and tell if they are gold diggers or are actually interested." The succubus smiled and turned around to crowd spy.
"Ok. But she has to be a little tall." Stephen laughed.
"Excellent." Aife smiled and rubbed her hands together. She can't wait to show Kara and Isadora how to do this. Or maybe they already know, she laughed.
Kenzi and Vex
"Okay, what was that about?." Kenzi asked.
"You are the only human left, Kenzi. You need to stay out of our bars. You got lucky that time. But I won't always be in my bars. Bo's name and reputation will only save you for so long." Vex replied.
"I wasn't doing anything but drinking. If they are threatened by that, that's their problem." Kenzi shook her head in disgust.
"Aife doesn't forget anything. She might be weird now, but that darkened don't give a fuck attitude is like blood in her veins." Vex laughed.
"Okay. Okay. No more Dark bars but the human ones will bore the hell out of me after being in these circles for so long." Kenzi climbed into Vex's truck. He already agreed to drive her to her car. After that, she agreed to stay home and turn her lights off. He almost felt like she was his claimed human but won't curse himself to fights every time Aife gets punchy.
Bo and Lauren
"Okay. Let's do this!." Bo spoke excitedly.
"Yep." Lauren gave Bo and Kara enough room while she and Dora found their own space.
"You can do it, babies. Mama and mama will help you." Bo and Lauren were on their knees trying to teach the girls how to walk. Young? Sure but they were already mentally getting around.
"I have an idea." Lauren looked at Bo.
"What's that?". Bo looked at the woman and back at the babies.
"Let's allow them to hold hands. Then we can see if they already know and are just humoring us." Lauren laughed.
"A baby of mine would do that." Bo laughed as they turned to face each other. "Okay. Kara. Dora. Can you walk?" She cooed.
Lauren snapped her fingers and all electrical outlets had been baby proofed. "Let go, Bo."
Bo gasped and let go. The women stayed on their knees and close to them in case they needed to drop in front of them and be body cushions.
"Bo!"
"Lauren!".
"They are walking!." Lauren grabbed her phone and began recording them.
"Mom and the boys will want that too." Bo knee walked beside them as Lauren stood and walked behind them. Kara and Dora turned to each other and locked both hands. "It's ok. Dance with your sister if you need to." Bo cried.
"Bo look, blue eyes." Lauren pointed.
"Mom. Now". Bo sent a quick text.
"What is it?". Aife replied.
"Walking blue-eyed babies". Bo replied.
"Let's go!." Aife screamed.
"But your tab!?." A waitress screamed.
"My presence was your payment." Aife laughed.
"Who's car are we taking!?." Stephen screamed.
"Mine, it's faster!." Aife replied. She rubbed her hands when she touched the steering wheel. This is almost going to be as much fun as a physical fight.
