Stomping down the school hallway, Katara breathed heavily in frustration at the situation at hand now. Not in the mood for waiting around, she walked down the corridor towards a lone stairwell and sat down at it, rubbing her hands over her damp face.

"Ugh…. This life has been so much here…" She mumbled to herself. She didn't even know what to think about all of this going on now, unable to fully clear her head of anything over the last few weeks. From one thing to the next, it seemed like life was just too crazy for her.

"Hey…"

Hearing the soft voice did break Katara's thoughts, turning to see Momo standing there. The waterbender raised her brow at the creationist, confused why she was here." What are you doing here?"

With Cementoss gone, no one is doing work… so I went for a walk and saw you." Momo answered.

Not answering, katara stayed silent as the slightly taller girl came and sat beside her, both avoiding eye contact and staring at the wall across from them for both of them, they felt their hearts racing, knowing how their last conversation went. After what felt like 2 minutes, katara was the one to break the silence. "Yaoyorozu, I'm s-

"I'm sorry."

Katara turned in surprise to the sudden apology. The look on Momo's face filled with pain."I'm sorry Katara. When you told us that…. I shouldn't have reacted like that and walked off. That was wrong of me."

Now katara was the one sighing and rubbing her head. "No. I shouldn't have kept something like that from you or everyone for so long."

"I mean I do understand…" Momo said, a small smile on her face. "I did have a secret as big as yours."

Hearing that comment, katara couldn't raise her brow. "You're comparing being teased to coming from another world?"

After a moment both girls laughed, easing the tension between them. "Why don't you come to class? There's a couple things we all need to say." Momo suggested, leading the waterbender to their home room.

household

Inside the workroom of his home, Tensei rolled his chair around the center table to grab the paint. He felt a strange sensation in his chest as he turned to see his hero armor lying on the top. His free hand reached up to stroke at the large gash in the armor, the very spot that gave him the injury that put him in that chair. He shifted in his seat as he winced at the slight pain there, unable to keep from smiling to the fact he was feeling it to begin with. In the last few weeks, his steps had become easier every day, his strength ever so slowly returning to his legs.

For some reason, he couldn't help but have the urge to come and begin cleaning up his suit.

Who knows, perhaps he could be using it sometime in the future.

He chuckled at the thought as he stirred the paint in the can, the smile on his face almost ear to ear at the dream he had. He reached with the brush and began touching up the many scuffs over the surface, cleaning up the armor in case he could ever put it on once more. After several minutes, however, his concentration was broken by phone vibrating beside him.

"Hmm?" he grabbed the phone and noticed the message, his brow raising when he saw who it was from. "Aizawa?" Opening it up, he felt his heart begin to speed up when he saw the message.

We need to talk now about Katara. The commission knows.

"What the?" He said out loud, setting the paint brush down on the side. He quickly typed on the keyboard to get his message back.

You mean about who she really is?

It only took a moment for his message to get a response.

You should come in. We have some important things to go over.

Just by the words he read, Tensei could feel there was something he wasn't looking forward to hearing. Whenever it came to the commission, he knew they only got involved when it was serious. That was one of the reasons he tried keeping Katara under the radar, simply to avoid the headaches that came with the paperwork and the questions asked. And now, he knew this was not something he was looking forward to.

BZZZT

Tensei could've sworn they were listening to him, because no more than a minute later as he sat there thinking, his phone began glowing green, the signal that only came from a direct video call from the commission. Exhaling, he clicked the forwarding icon and sent it to the monitor beside him. Taking a deep breath, he straightened his face as the opposing face came up, eyes locking with the president herself staring at him.

"Good evening Ingenium. It's been some time since we have seen you." She said to him, bringing a small chuckle to the former hero.

"It's been a while since I've been called that. A little hard since I've been put in this thing."

"I know, but I have heard you've had a breakthrough in your recovery recently. It would be truly wonderful if you could eventually return to the field."

While she seemed genuine, Tensei could tell there was something else on her mind. Something hidden behind her words. "It would be a dream come true, yes. After everything that's happened, to be able to go back and catch up to doing what I need to do will be amazing."

"Indeed. With all of the developments recently, there needs to be more heroes out there. I would hope you are one to return and be back into the mix of everything. Your brother and your new guest Katara have been busy recently as well studying as new heroes."

The change in the presidents tone didn't escape Tensei's ear, taking another deep breath and leaning back in his seat. Deciding to cut to the chase, he went for the question. "And is she the reason you called me?"

The president narrowed her eyes and gave a small nod. "Indeed. It seems you've been keeping secrets even from us, Mr. Iida."

"because I didn't want to put a girl who was already alone and frightened through more trouble." Tensei answered, gripping his arm rests. "She explained everything about who she is to me, and I saw no reason to not trust her."

"And you took that responsibility on yourself to keep that from us? After everything that has occurred recently, that cannot be happening any longer. We already tried talking to the school, but they are being stubborn and refusing our orders as well. Perhaps you can be the reasonable one in this and we can end this charade."

Tensei glared at her words, not sure what she was saying. "Explain, please…"

"Katara is something rather unique. The abilities she has that aren't part of a quirk is something we need to understand. And I requested that she be taken under the commission's responsibilities. As her legal guardian, perhaps you can talk some sense into her and get her to come willingly."

"Excuse me?" Tensei tilted his head at her request. "Willingly? It sounds more like an arrest than care."

"I told you. She is an anomaly in a world of people with powers. Something like this must be contained and isolated for the safety of this society."

"Safety? You act like she's dangerous and attacking people!" Tensei snapped out, "All she has done is protect people!"

"Her loyalty isn't my concern, but of what she can do. Our goal is to take her under our watch and find out what makes her abilities even function."

"You want to know? Then ask her!" Tensei yelled as he forced his feet to the ground, grunting as he stood up from his chair. He didn't care about the look of surprise on the president's face as he shakingly stepped forward, growling through his clenched teeth. "The reason I am even like this here… Is because of her. She has helped me even more than any of the doctors could, and now I am here walking because of her. If that's what you wanted to see, then there you go!"

The president stared in silence at the now standing Ingenium, someone she thought was truly never returning to anything resembling hero work ever. The fact he was actually out of that chair like that made her mouth fall open in surprise, especially with what he had just said. "That child, Katara… her powers were the one that healed you?"

"I owe everything I am now to her. And even if she didn't, it wouldn't change anything. She's more than just a kid who stayed with me, Madam. I'd put myself in danger to save her like any other member of my family. And that will never change."

Seeing the determination in his eyes and words made the president frown to herself, seeing this was much more than she realized. There was a part of her that actually felt a hint of guilt to his determination, now realizing this relationship he had with this girl Katara was much more personal than she and the others originally thought. But that was the thing about her that got her in the position of being the president. The thing that helped make the decisions necessary for the benefits of the entire society.

That part of her feeling guilt was very small.

"It appears I underestimated this, then…" She said as she leaned onto the desk. "It seems her powers are even more intriguing than we originally thought."

"What?" Tensei's eyes widened at her words, her tone in fact seeming more interested now. "What are you trying to say?"

"What I am saying is her powers are even more impressive than simply controlling water. If healing is included as well, that is even more reason to understand this mysterious power. Quirks are designated into different categories, abilities and usages. You don't see offensive quirks controlling elements that also apply to healing. And if she is able to heal injuries as serious as yours, the applications are possibly limitless. If you cannot see the benefits to what knowledge of her powers could provide to our society, then come in and join us to learn this together."

"If you want to understand, then you can go to the school and talk with her. There is nothing more you need to discuss with her there than you would have to take her away and lock her away. Unless you are trying to do things outside of public view."

"That is a serious accusation you are making without any proof, Ingenium. If you knew any better, you would watch your tone if you wanted stability in your life… especially with how everything has gone for your financials lately."

Tensei's eyes widened in fury at the undertone threat made by the president, forgetting both the pain in his legs and the chain of command he served. "And you think threatening me will make me turn on Katara? Who in the hell do you think you are?"

"I am the one trying to get through your head about what is most important. The staff of UA are stubborn and not opening up to the benefits for society over personal feelings. With their stubbornness, I will keep my promise and leave her be, but payments through the commission at this moment are cut off from now on until they learn to follow orders given to them. And unless you use reasoning and talk to her to come in peacefully, your income will be cut off from now on as well."

The strength in Tensei's legs finally gave out, falling back and collapsing into the chair behind himself. His anger was replaced by complete shock, the declaration something he did not expect from the commission. He breathed several times before his head focused once more, glaring again at the head woman. "And you claim to be the leader of heroes. How does this make you any better than a villain?"

"I do what is necessary for the protection of our society. Many are afraid with the rise of the League of villains, the retirement of All Might, and the very real threat of all out war. You have no idea what else we have been monitoring across the country, and with the league members still at large, we have no idea what else they could be planning. Your little friend Katara is another cog in this machine of chaos that we need to try and contain before even more chaos spreads across the country. So I ask you to think about yourself and everyone else in this situation. Do you really want to make everyone suffer to protect this girl who isn't even from here?"

Staring down at his legs, Tensei gripped his knees in frustration as he thought back to everything he'd been through since Katara had arrived here. The fact the commission president was asking him to go against the trust they and bond they had built with each other. Looking back to the screen, he held back the urge to spit on the monitor before shaking his head. "Don't you ever call me again asking anything about Katara again."

Sighing, the president nodded. "Fine. Then consider your payments if you return to being a hero forfeit at this point. Good luck with your recovery."

Shutting off her monitor, the president leaned back in her chair as she grumbled in annoyance. "It seems this Katara really has made quite the connection between herself and those around her." She glanced over to her assistant staring at her, noticing the look of concern on his face. "If there is something you want to say, I suggest saying it."

Swallowing the lump in his throat, the black haired man adjusted his glasses before continuing. "Madam, if I may… Is this the right course of action?"

"Unless we know what the hell this kid is, we cannot simply let this discovery go unstudied," She declared. "Without knowing what she is and what she can do, we are missing out on perhaps the greatest discovery since quirks themselves. And the fact all these heroes are refusing orders is only adding more turmoil to an already weakened system. Therefore, they will learn to follow those orders or face consequences."

"But this… cutting them off. Won't this only cause more disruption?"

"What would you have me do? Order more heroes to go in and forcibly take her away? We would have every person in the nation freaking out as they see heroes fighting heroes, breaking every bit of trust they had in those heroes protecting them. Every criminal would rise up seeing they had the chance to do whatever they wanted." she huffed out before rubbing her neck. "And we have to keep this out of the limelight for now. We can't have others finding out about a new form of power in our world, whether those people be panicked civilians or other countries suddenly sticking there nose in our business. And with All Might gone, we lost the symbol of the strongest hero in the world. Now America has their female impersonator of him at the top."

The assistant still felt hesitant about the entire situation. "But to cut all of them off, how will that get any of them to your side?"

"It's not about sides. It's about rewarding those that follow the rules that keep our society in working order. And who knows… perhaps this is a way to test this child's true loyalty. If she doesn't want those around her to deal with consequences, then she can turn herself in whenever she wants."

Checking his phone to see if he had any messages in response, Aizawa sighed and turned back to the table before him, with the staff members and an angry rabbit across from him. Mirko growled as she rapidly tapped her foot against the ground, careful from cracking the floor below her. "That bitch… that's quite the stiff arm she pulled."

"That is an accurate way of stating the situation," Nezu chuckled to himself, earning glares from a few of the other teachers and the rabbit woman. "It seems we have come to a predicament now."

"Predicament? That's putting it lightly," Snipe grunted out. "Cutting funding to this school…"

"Wages…" Midnight correct, "But he has a point. This is something the commission knows gets to everyone; you take away paychecks, and every person panics."

"While I'd hate to agree, she's right," Aizawa added, "Money isn't everything, but for many staff here, that keeps them from losing their homes."

Grunting to himself, Cementoss clasped his hands together and leaned back in his chair. "Unless you think this is some kind of bluff, she-

Mirko's laughing cut the concrete teacher off, "You've had your nose in books for too long. You think she or the commission bluffs when they make orders?" The rabbit hero clicked her tongue and kicked her feet up. "They'll keep this up until you are bled dry."

Snipe grunted in annoyance hearing that. "Well, top ten heroes certainly make more than staff here, I'll tell you that. I got about seven months."

"Why are we even discussing this as if this is permanent?!" Mic shouted in anger. "You really think she would stick with this that long?!"

"Yes…"

Nezu's voice caught everyone's attention, all of them turning to the small rodent creature. "With the commission, they would. This obsession with Katara's bending is because of the mix of fear they have of the unknown, and of the control things they don't already own. Because they know it isn't normal, they are determined to take it in their control to either try to understand it, or replicate it. But they didn't put out a press announcement of this discovery because that means everyone would know there is something new in this world. They don't want this publicly known because the panic that would come out, or…"

Toshinori turned his head up to the principals pause. "Or what?"

"Or of support that may come out." Nezu tapped his fingers on the tabletop. "Katara has garnered attention from all sides since she has come into this school, some of which is exactly what the commission didn't want. And that example is right here." he motioned towards the white haired hero on the other side of the table, making her raise her brow. "The fact the very hero they hoped would help get what they wanted chose to in fact aid the school protecting her shows they are worried more could do the same if they went public. You have others like Gang Orca, Shishido, or the others who were with her during the raid and know what she did for everyone. Let's not forget even the very hero she was working underneath this whole time, someone who showed genuine worry for her and also argued in her defense in front of the media."

The staff looked at each other momentarily thinking about what Nezu said, understanding more about the flame hero that had been missing in action recently. Endeavor was one to always make himself front and center whenever he could, wanting to take the spotlight to show he was the best. Even over the many weeks leading up to the raid, they had noticed the decrease in the amount of times he even spoke to the press after catching villains. And now, he hadn't even been seen in over a week, during a time where he was perhaps most needed for information on the situation. Toshinori had never known Endeavor to be one to act like this, now wanting to find out what was going on.

"Maybe he will answer if I tried to get a hold of him." he tried suggesting, "He is the new number one hero, and if he were to agree with us, the commission would have no choice but to drop whatever they have to-

"PSHH" Mirko's outburst cut the skinny man off, the rabbit slapping the table a few times before settling down. "Listen to you… All Might, do you know how many times over the years I'd hear Endeavor bitching and moaning about how much he hated being beneath you? He was nothing but jealous of you his entire career, and now you want to just call him up and shoot the blues?"

"I have to try. And he is not the same as he was before." Toshinori stated. "Something inside him has changed as of late. If he is able to come on board as well, then that will certainly change the dynamics of this situation."

"That is something we can discuss certainly, but for now, we must focus on our staff." Nezu turned the conversation away from their bickering, sighing and clasping his hands together. "While the commission won't risk conflict to keep their image and the stability of the country intact, the fact they are taking away incomes from the teachers of course puts stress on everyone."

Aizawa ran his hand through his hair in frustration. "We have forty people who work here on campus, and that breaks down to under two million yen per month for our salaries."

"Wait… huh?" Mirko sat up in surprise at the number. "That's it?"

"What, you've been a top ten so long you forgot how much standard heroes make?" Midnight snickered. "It's actually good pay compared to other schools or even low ranked pros."

Realizing she had forgotten since she'd been in the top ten for several years, Mirko grunted and grabbed one of the waters in front of her. "Well, I don't know about you, but I've got enough saved up to where I'm good for three years before I'd start worrying too much."

Frowning, Cementoss shook his head. And there is the difference. I can get by probably eight months before I'm through all my savings."

Aizawa scratched his chin in annoyance. With how much living expenses, taxes and everything was, he also had probably six to eight months before his savings were gone. "If hypothetically we have to keep this up for some long amount of time, the newer staff like Midnight, Yamada and myself won't be able to simply continue working with nothing coming in."

Chuckling to herself, Mirko didn't expect the salaries of a lot of these teachers were about a fourth of what she earned. And she would've earned more if she even had an agency for sponsorships. "Damn All Might, you took a hell of a pay cut becoming a teacher." She laughed out loud, before she noticed the awkward look the former number one hero was giving. "What?"

Coughing, Toshinori gave an embarrassed shrug. "Actually…. This is a large pay increase for me."

Now the rabbit hero's almost burst from her face hearing that. "Huh?! The hell are you talking about?! You were number one for like twenty years! You should be set for life!" her ears twitched in disbelief as Toshinori twiddled his fingers awkwardly. "Wait… Are you telling me you never got paid for all those years?!"

"I did. Just… as much as I needed for my house payment and food." Toshinori admitted. "I never felt… right taking money for simply being a hero."

As Mirko gawked in utter shock, Nezu sighed once more as he contemplated the situation. "Well, I technically could cover the funds for everyone under normal conditions."

Now the other staff members looked to the principal in surprise. "Cover the costs?" Aizawa asked. "I know you've been here for a long time, but you can't have saved up that much."

"Oh on the contrary, yes."Nezu explained. "I in fact carefully invested large amounts into different stocks over the years, so my money was actually multiplied exponentially… but… I have in fact been doing something with all that profit recently. Something I have been planning for some time now."

Sitting back, the small creature hummed to himself as he took in all of the looks from the people around him. "Since the very first attack on the USJ, I have been personally funding a brand new security protocol system for UA, one that will completely change the way we guard the students and staff here. I was not going to be the one who allowed more than one attack onto our school from the league of villains, so I have put most of what I have into the development of this new project."

"So what you're trying to say is we are in a lose-lose situation..." Aizawa muttered, leaning back in his chair as his phone vibrated. Reading the message, his eyes widened before turning to the others around him. "It seems we have a visitor coming this way. Someone else the commission tried to force the same way as us."

Laughing at the question she was just asked, Katara couldn't help but pat the desk in amusement. "Wait, you still remember that from back then?"

Kirishima frowned at her giggles, throwing his hands up in confusion. "Come on, you called me a moose lion! I thought it was some weird hidden insult you knew. Who the hell would forget that?!"

As she and the others laughed at his frown, Shoji chuckled in agreement. "You gotta admit, who would've known that was some weird creature from your home and not some kind of quirk you've seen."

Sighing, Katara simply gave a shrug. "I was still getting used to things here. It kinda… slipped out."

"So…. I'm guessing this moose lion is like him?" Sero teased as he nudged Kirishima. "Stubborn as a rock?"

Katara smiled and nodded. "Oh yes. The most stubborn."

As some of the class laughed, Kirishima huffed out before grinning. "Hey, if that's what makes me so tough, I'll take it!"

"Just know I was still one of the first to know!" Tenya made sure he announced it to everyone.

"Forget that, I really need to know now!" Toru asked from the side. "So you really were telling the truth about never using a phone before?!"

"Ribbit. Of all the things to ask, that is the last thing I'd ask." Tsu commented.

Jiro shrugged to the response. "I mean I freak when I don't have my phone for a day."

While he and some of the others laughed and continued chatting amongst themselves, katara couldn't keep the small smile off her face as she looked around to her classmates. After the last two days worrying about everything coming out, seeing her friends all accepting her and having no qualms about her secret was making her feel so much better. Suddenly however, she felt a strange chill crawl up her back turning to see Mineta staring at her.

"Katara… the fact you are from another world only makes you that much more exotic! Please, why date the dull icy dude when you can have a stud like-

WHACK!

Before Shoji or Shoto could do anything, Kendo's chop to the back of Mineta's head silenced the perverted little teen. "We don't need any more of that." She grunted, looking back to the waterbender in the room. "While we don't share the enthusiasm he does, we're happy you are here with us."

"Ditto over here!" Mina grinned from her seat.

As the others began saying their agreement, Izuku looked over to Momo beside him, happy to see her smiling again and part of the secret he knew this whole time. He then looked over to Bakugo on the side, noticing childhood friend sitting silently to the side. His brow raised when he noticed Bakugos face was still seemingly uninterested, tilting his head in surprise. "What's wrong?"

Bakugo gave a tsk of annoyance and looked away. "Just the fact everyone's ogling over her like she's some water god."

"She kinda is." Kaminari suggested.

"Oh, he's just jealous he's not one of the few that knows the super big secret." Sero joked, making Bakugo growl out in annoyance as a few others teased him.

As they all laughed and questioned the waterbender. Shoto let a small smile creep onto his face seeing Katara happy, knowing her own well being was being taken care of. But even as she was surrounded by friends that cared about her, he couldn't help but be reminded of the horrors that came for her all because of him. He couldn't ignore the demons that plagued him, and he wanted to be ready to confront that evil the next time he threatened her. While he lost track of how long he was zoned out, what snapped him out of his daze was the warm hand gripping his knee. He looked up to see Katara beside him, her kind smile breaking through the cold feelings he had inside once again.

He gave a warm smile in response to her, gripping her hand with his own and squeezing. "Thank you."

"You don't need to thank me," katara said to him before turning to everyone else. "I need to thank you all. It's been harder than you can imagine to keep everything about me a secret. I really didn't want to do that. But… I had to. Especially with what is going on now."

Now the others noticed the change in Katara's tone, with Tenya standing up in concern. "What do you mean?" He asked.

Katara sighed as she looked around to everyone, knowing the trouble that awaited her now. "Well, the thing is-

The door bursting open made everyone jump in shock, turning to see Aizawa's glowing eyes glaring inside. "Why are you here, when we told you to wait outside?"

"I…" Katara swallowed before continuing. "I was just frustrated."

Well get yourself back to the office now. We need to continue discussing your…. Predicament." He emphasized as he glanced around to the class, knowing they all knew her truth now. "We can discuss this later."

Looking around once more, Katara gave a nod before standing up, following her teacher out again. As they all were left, Shoto clenched his fist stood up, angry that Katara was dealing with something alone and he wasn't there to help. To no surprise, everyone else was thinking the same thing at that moment.

"This feels unfair! Katara is dealing with something alone and we aren't there to help!" Uraraka pouted.

"I agree! We should be there to understand what's going on!" Tenya declared.

"We were told to wait until Aizawa sensei returned, right?" Ojiro asked.

Tokoyami nodded and leaned back in his chair. "He did."

Looking over to Shoto's frustrated face, Bakugo sighed and cracked his neck. "And are you pansies gonna listen to what he told you?"

Momo took a breath and squeezed her hands. "Nope."

Pouting as she followed her teacher back down the hallway, Katara glared to the side and crossed her arms. "Okay I should've stayed, but you understand why I walked away."

"I do… but still doesn't mean I approve." Aizawa grunted. "We have so much to discuss, and having to track you down is just a pain."

Frowning, Katara kept silent as he opened the door once more to the office, seeing the teachers and Mirko once again. Only this time, however, her mouth fell open in shock to the wheelchair inside, and the familiar face turned towards her. "Tensei?!"

Smiling at seeing her again, Tensei rolled towards her and embraced the hug she gave him. "Good to see you again, Katara. Feels like it's been a long time."

Chuckling, Katara stepped back and smiled at him. "A few weeks, but yes. What are you doing here?"

With that question, his smile fell away as he stared at her. "Unfortunately, it isn't just to say hello. It's about you."

The excitement katara had seemed to vanish instantly, looking between him and everyone else in the room. "You mean with the commission… and who I am?"

Nezu gave a small nod. "Indeed. After you left the room, we received a call from the commission president, and it seems Mr. Iida received one as well, once again requesting that you be turned over to their custody."

Gritting her teeth, the young waterbender turned to her guardian, seeing his nod of confirmation. "They actually tried calling you too? What do these people want with me?!"

"It's all about control, Katara," Toshinori stated in frustration, "they are concerned by your powers, and the fact you are something they don't understand, they want it to be under them. We do not agree of course, and have all stood together to refuse the orders."

While Katara felt relieved hearing that, she could tell there was a hanging tension in the air between everyone. She looked over at Mirko, seeing the annoyed grimace the rabbit hero had and the stressed look of others like Cementoss. "What's wrong?"

What's wrong is paychecks are cut."

Mirko!" Midnight yelled at the woman's bluntness before sighing and looking at the stunned teen. Fine. The truth is until you are turned over, the commission is choosing to withhold payments to all of us."

Now Katara was the one stunned in silence, looking down at Tensei's nod of agreement. "They can't do that… what gives them the right to do that to all of you because of me?!"

"Don't say it's because of you. None of this is your fault. And none of us would ever think of turning you in over that." Tensei reached up and grabbed her hand in comfort, only for her to pull away.

"This is wrong. All of this is wrong! How can they punish all of you for this?!"

As the others tried calming Katara down, Mirko's ears twitched as she picked something up, looking towards the door in annoyance. She signaled at Present Mic across from her, the nod she gave him telling him exactly what he needed to know. Grinning, he took a breath and turned to the source.

"WHAAAAAAAAT'S UUUUUUUUUP!"

"GAAAAAAAH!"

"God damn it, my ears!"

"Yours?! Jiro's passed out!"

While the people in the office were startled by the sudden yell from the loud teacher, the voices outside caught all their attention even more. Glaring, Aizawa stomped over and threw the door open, annoyed to see practically his entire class clasping their ears outside, with Jiro in the front unconscious by the wall. "So you all chose eavesdropping…"

"It was all Bakugo's idea!" Kaminari cried out.

"You lying little rat!" Bakugo barked out, shaking his head clear.

Snickering at his pain, Mirko leaned back in her seat. "That's what you get for being a little sneak, sparky."

"So even after I said I would discuss this later, you all decided to listen in on a private conversation." Aizawa growled out.

"Sir! Please!" Tenya stepped forward, looking over to his brother momentarily before coming back to his teacher. "Is what was said true? Are they really going to withhold payments to all of you for shielding Katara?!"

"What is all of this? They are trying to take her from here?" Tokoyami added next.

As the questions all flooded in, Aizawa looked between the many concerned faces of his students. Most of all however was Shoto, the boy's eyes shaking in frustration at hearing that suggestion.

"Is this some kind of joke?" Shoto asked, breathing hard as the others fell silent. "What kind of demand is that?"

Knowing that the class knew of the waterbenders secret, Aizawa sighed and rubbed his head. "Fine. Since you all heard, this is the situation; since Katara's powers are not of this world, the commission wants to keep her in their custody to understand what she is. We all have agreed and refused that demand, but in that demand, the commission chose to withhold all staff and hero salaries until we do."

As Many of the students gasped and murmured in shock, Izuku looked up to his mentor in utter confusion. "All Might, this can't be true, can it? Can't you do something to convince them no?"

Toshinori shook his head in defeat. "Unfortunately… they won't listen to me any longer. Since I am retired as a hero, they don't see me as the hero to have demands anymore."

"Let's go to the news! They cannot pull this shit!" Mina hissed out in anger. "I'll blast those snooty people all over the web!"

"Unfortunately you can't do that…" Nezu explained to the frustrated students. "While the commission is going at this completely wrong, they are right in some aspects. The news of Katara's abilities should still be kept here. Public knowledge would cause panic to many and interest from negative parties. This is a matter we must deal with on our own."

"That's some bullshit! Just go in there and kick their asses for your paychecks!" Bakugo shouted out, earning an eye roll from all the teachers.

"Good enthusiasm, but stupid logic." Aizawa muttered. "We appreciate your concern, but this is something we will figure out. There is no need for you to get involved."

"Sir… if I may…"

The voice from the middle of the crowd made everyone turn to see the hand raised above Momo Yaoyorozu. "If possible… I can help you all out with funding your salaries."

"Excuse me?" Midnight asked in surprise. "Pay for our salaries?"

Katara sat open mouth to her friend's offer. "Yaoyorozu? I…"

"Y-yes…" Momo answered, looking over to Katara and nodding. "After everything Katara's done for us, I've always wanted to repay the favor. And, well, maybe this is the way I can do that."

The look of confusion from many of the classmates was matched by most of the teachers, with Toshinori smiling but shaking his head. He had heard she came from a wealthy family, but he didn't want to put that on a child. "That is beyond kind of you, Yaoyorozu, but that is too much. We cannot put something like this onto your family."

Momo frowned before stepping forward. "This isn't on my parents. Well… not fully. You can take my monthly spending budget I'm allowed. As long as I do not go over it, there is no problem from my parents."

The confused looks by the staff were matched with the snicker from Mirko sitting at the table. "Aw, that's cute. What do you get for your allowance, ninety thousand yen a month?"

While many glared at the rabbit heroes taunt, Momo blushed slightly and gripped her arm as she shrugged. "It's… one hundred million a month."

"Is… that not enough?" Momo asked in concern, "I can always ask my parents to-

"Bleh!" All Might's mouth burst out with blood at the statement, along with every other mouth hitting the floor.

"Holy shit! How rich is your family?!" Mina shouted out.

"Midoriya…"

Izuku's own shock was broken to the cold voice behind, turning in confusion and fear to the looks both Kaminari and Sero gave him.

"What the hell… Why do you get a girl like that? The world just isn't right!"

As the entire room was in utter disbelief, Nezu happily clasped his paws together and hummed to himself. "It seems good tidings have come our way."

Later that evening

After finally getting all the students out of the office and calmed down, most of the staff were also calmer and left as well. Now all that was left at the main table was Nezu, Toshinori, Aizawa and Tensei, having been able to spend some personal time with Tenya and Katara. Now he sat quietly with the remaining staff, shaking his head to the day they just had.

"Talk about having ups and downs." Tensei joked, rubbing his hand through his hair. "To go getting a call from the commission to now, I never expected this."

"It's too much of a headache…" Aizawa groaned, frowning as the others chuckled at him. "I want just a normal school week for once."

"Seems like that is out of the question now." Toshinori laughed, sighing in relief it was all worked out. "Although I still feel somewhat bad we are relying on a student for money." The chuckle from behind made him turn around, watching as Mirko walked towards the table with a bottle and a stack of glasses.

'Hey, it's a monthly spending budget, remember?" She laughed as she dropped the glasses on the table, popping the cap off the whiskey.

"And what's this?" Aizawa asked curiously.

"What? You don't want a celebratory drink after all that?" Mirko asked as she poured the five glasses. "Let's just call this sticking it to the big bimbo."

Shrugging, Tensei grabbed one of the glasses. "I'll drink to that."

Chuckling, Nezu grabbed one as sell as Mirko plopped into one of the seats. "This is the most I've seen of you in quite some time, Mirko. You are usually always on the go."

"Eh, sometimes you need a moment to just take it in." She kicked her feet up and laughed. "Don't get used to that, though. I grow restless pretty damn quick."

As they took a swig of their whiskey, Tensei stared at the rabbit woman curiously, setting his glass down on the table. "So what's with you?"

"Hmm?" Mirko lifted her brow at the former speedster. "What do you mean?"

"All these years you were known as the rogue rabbit, never choosing to ever work with others. Never once had you ever had a single intern or sidekick, never wanting to be held babysitting a weakling as you used to say. But now you suddenly have a student studying under you, and you're working with the school to help keep katara safe."

Huffing put, Mirko clicked her tongue before giving a shrug. "Honestly, I had no interest in taking a kid under me. I didn't want to babysit a little crybaby if I smacked them around a bit. After Edgeshot told me about Bakugo, I just had to check that little bastard out."

"And he grew on you," Aizawa said, swirling his drink around. "He surprisingly tends to do that to those around him."

Grinning, she gave a small nod. "He's is a prick in your side when trying to keep him in line, but the little sucker doesn't give up." Mirko turned over to Tensei and pointed at him. "Just like that girl you took in."

"Oh?" Tensei smiled hearing that. "When you compliment people, I know it's serious."

"Easy wheels, don't get too sappy." Mirko taunted, earning a fake glare from Tensei. "But yes. You should've seen her fighting that day. That kids got true heart, let me be the first to tell you."

Smiling to himself, Nezu set his own drink down as his mind ran. "Well, with everything that's happened, I have been thinking about our situation and what to do next. And Mr. Iida, I actually have a suggestion for you."

"A suggestion?" Tensei asked. "For what?"

"Well, since you yourself haven't been able to return to your hero work, i was thinking if you may be interested in a new field. Have you thought about becoming a teacher?"

The table went silent to the sudden offer, with Tensei staring in surprise at the small creature. "What? A… A teacher?"

'Yes. You've certainly had enough experience in the field, and you're certainly good with management with so many sidekicks at your agency. We could always use a new business department staff member."

Tensei's mind was still trying to process what he just heard, unable to think this was real. He looked between the other teachers at the table and smiled, letting a small laugh escape his lips. "I mean, I've never thought about being one, but if the offer is here… then maybe I should take it."

"Well god damn," Mirko chuckled at the sudden hiring in front of her. "Guess everyone is feeling good today."

As Mirko took a big swig of her drink, Nezu turned his attention to her next. "Actually, I wanted to offer something similar to you."

PFFFT!

Mirko sprayed out whiskey all over the table, coughing out in shock. "What?! A teacher? Oh hell no!"

"I actually agree with that reaction…" Aizawa muttered. "Where did that offer come from, Nezu?"

Nezu gave a small shrug. "Well, since you've been keeping a closer eye on the students here recently and with the commission cutting you off, I thought why not find a way for you to have both?"

"Uh, you know the only reason I even passed school was because of my physical talent? I literally skipped probably half my classes by the time I graduated. Hell, I got kicked out of two different schools for absences." Mirko explained. "I hate school. Why the hell would I work in one teaching kids some shitty subject?"

"You are the number three hero. I think you have plenty to show our wonderful students. Besides, I didn't say you'd be a "teacher" foresay."

Shaking her head, Mirko refilled her glass and clicked her tongue. "Yeah, let me just leave it here and say "I'm not interested.""

The next day.

Near the eastern campus security wall of UA, a pair of third year students peeked around the corner of the building, making sure the coast was clear before they tucked behind the bush beside them. The brown haired lead took a breath before grinning, checking his phone before chuckling. "Alright, he's just outside now. Let's do it."

Hus blue haired friend frowned and looked around nervously. "Come on, this is crazy! They'll know we got out!"

"Calm down. That nerd in the support class told me they found a small gap in the camera system beside the tree here. As long as we go directly out from here, we will be out of sight."

"Yeah, but then the walls have thermal detection and they-

"And that's why I can get through, dumb ass," The brown haired teen glared. "Look, my brother got us tickets to that new club downtown, and I am not missing this. If you don't wanna do this, then fine."

Grunting, the blue haired friend sighed and nodded, wanting to do something crazy as well. "Fine. Let's do this."

Grinning, the lead teen focused his energy into his skin, causing his bodies temperature to fluctuate until it perfectly matched the surrounding air and ground temperature. Grabbing onto his friend, he changed his as well just as they began running out to the tree beside them, making sure they hid underneath the canopy to avoid the cameras on the building. Once ready, the brown haired one huffed out in excitement. "Alright, they are right outside the walls in his jeep. Let's go."

Taking his own deep breath, the blue haired friend looked to the ten meter tall wall ahead of them before lifting his pants upward, making sure the cloth stayed out of the spring coils his shins were made of. "You better hold on."

Snickering, the one teen gripped his buddies shoulders as he leaned down, building up strength before they both sprang off the grass, flying through the air and above the wall surrounding the school. "Hell yes, time to see those new dancers they got and-

Both teens were caught off guard as the gust of air whipped past them, unsure what it was until they looked forward. What they saw made their hearts stop, never expecting to suddenly be face to face with a crazed grin worn by the rabbit hero Mirko.

"You know they have like fifty other things to monitor, don't you?" She chuckled as she brought her foot above their screaming heads. "Guess you aren't that bright!"

BOOM!

The axe kick sent both of them careening back into the grass below, the impact burying both in the dirt as Mirko landed on the top of the wall. "Oh the days of playing hooky. I kind of miss that." She said to herself, squatting down as one of them coughed out the dirt in his mouth. "Now how about you get your asses back inside before I see if I can kick you over the entire campus."

As the terrified teens pulled themselves out of the dirt and ran back inside, Mirko laughed as she cracked her neck and looked around the perimeter, licking her lips in enjoyment. "Who knows, maybe I'll get a kick out of this..."

Leaping across onto the nearby roof, the new UA campus security officer went on her way, hoping another student tried to escape for some more entertainment.

That evening

The sun was beginning to set over Tokyo as Burnin drove down the road. The sidekick dialed the phone and pushed the call again, glaring as it went straight to voicemail for the tenth time that day. "God damn it…" She growled, tossing it to the seat beside her and speeding up. "Where the hell are you?"

Ever since Endeavor had suddenly quit showing for work, the flame haired woman had grown more than confused about what was going on, having been calling him nonstop for more than a week to try and find him. Since she was still working, she had been trying to keep the agency in line for the last week. In all honesty she was getting close to calling in her vacation time to get away from all the insanity she had been trying to organize and run, but now she just had to know what was going on. And now, she could only imagine what he was doing as she pulled up to the driveway of his house, wanting an answer once and for all.

"This bastard better be sick or dead after ignoring my calls this long." She hissed as she stepped out of the car and stomped up to his door. "Endeavor! Where the hell have you been?!" she shouted as she pounded the door. After a moment with no answer, she tapped her foot several times before hitting it again. "You've gone MIA for this long, something must be really important to leave all this shit at the agency to me."

After another minute, her frown slowly disappeared when nobody came to answer the door. She looked to the driveway beside her, seeing his personal car parked there. Since she knew the company driver didn't pick him up, she knew he wasn't out. Suddenly, her eyes widened when she heard the door unlock, ready to see what her boss was… only to have his daughter Fuyumi answer the door.

"Oh, Burnin! Thank goodness you're here." Fuyumi sighed in relief as she opened the door all the way. "I didn't know how long this would go on for."

"Uh, what go on for?" Burnin asked, walking in after the white and red haired woman. "I came here to find out where the hell he has been..."

Fuyumi's face was filled with a mix of pain and concern, not even sure how to answer. "I… I have never seen him like this before. I came home one day from work, and I found him hunkered in the office alone, refusing to come out. I can't even get him to come out to talk."

As she followed the concerned Todoroki through the house, Burnin began noticing multiple scorch marks through the house, or multiple holes punched through walls. Before she could ask anything however, the house was rocked by a hard blast, making both of them jump in worry. Immediately, Burnin recognized the loud yell coming from the back of the house, but not one she had ever heard from her boss before. She had heard any kind of yell from frustration to complete and utter anger, but what she heard was something that made even her own flaming hair stand on end.

One of pain and utter despair.

"What the hell is going on…?" She muttered under her breath, both her and Fuyumi walking past the torched office he had. Right next to it was another set of closed doors, the sidekick looking over to her bosses daughter. Fuyumi gave a quick nod confirming this was it, letting Burnin prepare herself. "Let me go in. I've… learned how to work around the big guys temper tantrums."

The sarcastic comment didn't even register in Fuyumi's head, the woman breathing hard and clasping her hands. "Just… be careful. I don't know what's been going on with him."As she was left alone, Burnin sighed as she turned back to the door, pushing it open to find her boss. What she found however, was nothing she could ever have imagined.

The workout room of the home was in complete shambles, equipment thrown around in one of many outbursts. Many areas of the flooring were either burning or already burnt, the entire area smelling of ash and sweat. But what caught her eyes the most was the many bottles of sake scattered across the floor, many either half drunken or shattered in pieces. "What the hell… What are you-

"Get out!"

Burnin gasped as a fireball launched out from behind the stair master on the side, striking the ceiling and igniting the room in more fire. "Damn!" She yelled as she ran inside, her heart sinking in her chest when she saw what was hidden behind the equipment. "Holy shit..."

Enji Todoroki was there on the ground, the man's clothes in tatters and stained from not being washed for several days. His face was covered in scruff from being untouched this entire time, and the mans eyes bloodshot and glazed over. Even as he locked eyes with his sidekick, his eyes shifted and remained unfocused, most likely in part to the half drunken bottle of sake in his hand. "Burnin? What… what are… you doing here?" He slurred out as he took another swig of the bottle. "Get…. Get back to work!" He growled out and attempted to crawl up before collapsing back to the floor.

"Boss… what the hell happened to you?" She muttered out, not even sure what else to say.

The look of anger on Enji's face seemed to vanish immediately, the man leaning his head against the stair master as he stared blankly at the opposing wall. "I can't… I don't know what to..." He muttered before taking another drink, coughing out as some ran down his face. "I did this… all this…. Me..."

Seeing her boss like this made Burnin sit in utter silence, not even caring about the horrid smell coming from Enji. Her entire life she always saw Endeavor as the coolest hero out there, to her even more than All Might. He was fierce and determined, always ready to torch any villain that crossed his path. But now… she wasn't even looking at the flame hero she had worked for all these years. Right here in front of her was a normal man, one who was utterly broken by something and with nothing left. She didn't even know what to say as she watched him down the bottle before throwing it aside, coughing more before he stared blankly at her.

"I did it… fault… my fault..." he stuttered, his hand moving in the air as if he was hallucinating. "Me… I did…."

grimacing, Burnin tried kneeling down to his level. "Did… did what?" She tried asking, only for her mouth to fall open as his head fell to the ground. She sat still before she suddenly heard his deep breathing, both shocked and frustrated that he suddenly passed out right there. "What in the hell is going on through that head of yours?" Furrowing her brow, Burnin reached down and scooped up her boss, grunting as she began dragging him out of the room towards his bedroom. She was going to make sure this man was sober enough to answer her questions about what was going on.

As she got him out of the room, she hadn't noticed the picture frame that had been underneath Enji's body on the floor. A picture of his first born son Touya, the image smeared in both alcohol and tears.
