Hello, readers, I'm VickyT36 and recently got this idea after watching the "Things Change" episode of Teen Titans. I'm going with the fan theory of Terra being freed after the events of The End Part 3. I hope you all like this, enjoy!

Chapter 1: Free

The citizens of Jump City, had just been freed from the stone states after a huge battle two days ago. Underground in the lair of the late super villain, Slade a statue of young girl stood. On a plaque at the bottom of the base read, "Terra, a Teen Titan and a true friend".

Suddenly in a flash of white light, all of the rock fell off her body, and she blinked.

"What?" she asked herself.

After a minute, Terra realized what all had happened. She remembered what she had done, becoming Slade's apprentice, betraying the Teen Titans, and almost destroying the city.

"I can't believe it? How long have I been like this?"

She looked down at the suit that Slade had made for her with a remorseful look, she'd almost destroyed the whole city. But she also noticed something about her felt different. She didn't feel as powerful as she used to anymore.

She tried to move some dirt with her powers, but to her surprise nothing happened.

"Huh?"

Her powers appeared to be gone.

"When I absorbed all the lava and magma with my powers it must've burned them out." she thought.

After getting herself together, Terra slowly started making her way out of the lair. Before leaving, she looked back at the now dead flowers that were on the ground. She went back, and picked it up.

"I don't deserve these." she whispered.

On the surface, she walked the back alleys of the city, and she managed to toss the flowers in a dumpster. She was trying not to draw attention since she was still wearing the suit Slade gave her.

"I gotta get out of this thing." she told herself.

There was only one place she could go, and it was a place she wasn't sure if she'd be welcome at. The next thing she knew, she was standing in front of the Teen Titan's tower. She gently knocked on the door, but no one answered.

Confused, Terra picked the lock, and went inside.

"Hello, is anyone here?" she called.

But there was no answer.

"Well I suppose this is better. That way I don't have to confront any of them."

She went to her old room, and found some clothes. She took the suit off, and put on her old clothes. It felt good to by out of that suit, and after gathering up all of her stuff in a backpack she left that tower.

As she walked down the streets, she noticed that a lot of places had changed. Some stores and business were either closed or now something different.

"Well, I must've been in stone for a long time."

Then her stomach growled.

"I can't even remember the last time I ate."

But of course, she couldn't just go and buy some food without money so she just walked on. Suddenly it started to rain.

"Oh, great." Terra complained.

She found shelter in an alley, underneath some old boxes.

"Well I slept in a cave for a long time this is pretty much the same."

As the rain poured down, Terra continued to lie there. She didn't know what she was going to do or where she was going to go but for right now she just needed to rest. And eventually she fell asleep.

Hours later, Terra woke up to the sound of footsteps approaching her.

"Huh?"

Then a light flashed in her eyes.

"Hello, are you okay in there?" asked a voice.

Shielding her eyes, Terra slowly got out of the box and saw that it was a police officer, holding a flashlight and an umbrella.

"You okay, sweetheart. What are you doing out here alone?" he asked her.

"Uh I'm okay officer. I was just looking for place to stay dry and rest." Terra said.

"Why don't we get you out of the rain and into somewhere dry?" the officer suggested, holding out his hand.

The thought of getting out of the rain sounded good to her, so she took his hand. They went to his police cruiser, and Terra got in the back.

"What's your name sweetie?" the officer asked as he drove.

"My name's T..."

She was about to say her real name, but stopped. This was a second chance for her, and she didn't want anything to do with her old life. Not a life where she was a girl with out of control powers and insecurities, a girl who betrayed her friends, and a girl who almost destroyed the city.

And that included her own name.

"My name's Ashley."

"Well Ashley, are you hungry?"

"Starving actually."

"Well we'll get you a nice meal soon."

And with that they kept driving down the street.
