Chapter 2: A New Life (A/N: I'm saying this again. I'm not interested in any comics, art, or collabs. So please stop asking and just read and review my story if you like it.)

At the police station, the officer got her sandwich, chips, and soda to eat. As Terra (Ashley) ate her food, the officer asked her questions.
"So Ashley, do you know where your family are?" he asked her.
Terra (Ashley), was quiet for a moment, and then spoke up.
"I lost my family in an accident a while ago. I've been on my own ever since."
"I'm sorry to hear that. Do you mind if I ask you a couple more questions?"
She nodded. He asked her how old she was, which she answered 14. Did she have any schooling, and what grade was she in. Terra (Ashley) answered while she hadn't been to school in a while, but she was in 9th grade.
"Where have you been staying?"
"Mostly wherever I can. But do you mind if I ask a question?"
"Of course."
"You remember when the city was almost consumed by lava?"
"Yes?"
"How long ago was that?"
"About a year ago. But mostly everyone's talking about how everyone in the city was turned to stone by some kind of demon."
"Stone?"
"Yeah, but luckily Raven of the Teen Titans stopped him and brought everyone back."
"Raven brought everyone back from stone. That must've been how I got free." Terra (Ashley) thought.
"And where are the Titans now?"
"They left the city a while ago."
That was a relief.
"So Ashley, for now you'll be staying in a shelter, but we'll get a caseworker that'll find you a good place to live."
"That sounds good." Terra (Ashley) replied.
"That sounds really good."
The officer drove Terra (Ashley) to a shelter for young women, and got her checked in. The head of the shelter gave Terra (Ashley) some toiletries and a bag of clean and fresh clothes.
"I'll come by tomorrow, and check up on you, Ashley." the officer told her.
"Thank you." Terra (Ashley) replied.
The head of the home led Terra (Ashley) to a room.
"I hope you'll be comfortable for now. The bathrooms and showers are down the hall and on the left. And breakfast is served at 7:00."
"Thanks."
She left, and Terra (Ashley) began to settle in. As she lied down on the bed, she stared up at the ceiling.
"(Sighs), well this is nice so far." she said to herself.
She got herself comfortable, and then fell fast asleep. The next morning, Terra (Ashley) woke up around 6:30, and looked out at the city. Surprisingly, Jump City looked nice in the early morning. She sighed contently, this wasn't just a dream it was real.
Then she grabbed her clothes and toiletries, and went to the showers.
After taking a nice hot shower, Terra (Ashley) felt great and then went downstairs to get breakfast. From the kitchen, she smelled the good smells of breakfast food.
"Mmm, that smells good." she said to herself.
Once everyone was awake, breakfast was served. Terra (Ashley) enjoyed the food, and even chatted a little bit with the other girls. For the rest of the day, Terra (Ashley) spent the day lounging around, and watching TV in the entertainment room.
Then that afternoon, the police officer came back along with a woman to see her.
"Ashley, this is Stephanie. She's the caseworker we assigned to you." the officer informed.
"It's nice to meet you, Ashley." Stephanie said.
"You too, Stephanie."
"Now, we're going to work on getting you a family to live with. But first we're going to have to get you a physical. Just to make sure you're healthy."
"Oh, okay then. When do I get it?"
"As soon as possible, but whenever you're ready."
"I'm ready now."
And with that, Stephanie drove Terra (Ashley) to the hospital.
At the hospital, doctor gave her a physical, and it turned out Terra (Ashley) was in tip top shape and in good health.
"Well Ashley, it's great to know that you're healthy. That'll better your chances of finding a good family." Stephanie told her.
"That's good. It would be nice to have a family again." Terra (Ashley) replied.
"Don't worry. I'm working on finding a good family as we speak."
Terra (Ashley) smiled at hearing that.
Over the next few days, Terra (Ashley) continued to stay at the group home, and adjust to being alive again. And then one day, Stephanie came with great news.
"Ashley, I think I found a foster family for you." she informed.
"Really?" Terra (Ashley) asked hopefully.
"Yes, the Lowmens. They're a very nice family, and they've been a foster family before."
She showed her a picture of a typical family of four consisting of a man, a woman, a teenage guy, and a girl.
"They look nice. When do I get to meet them?"
"We can go see them tomorrow. They're looking forward to meeting you." Terra (Ashley) smiled.
She was about to meet a potential family, this was looking good.
